Wireless Synch - Google Sync - HELP?!

I got a new Blackberry Curve 8530 yesterday and am trying to sync up using my google sync app which worked wonderfully with my old curve. However, I've been having problems with the calendar sync and have been troubleshooting. The problem: when I add an event on my phone it does not sync with my goole calendar, however when I add an event from my google calendar on my computer it does add the event to my phone.
There is one option on my phone which is stuck on "no" within my calendar properties for my google calendar. Is there a way to make this option to "yes"? I believe this may be the solution to my issue.
This is so frustrating, because the google sync option has been wonderful for me in the past with blackberry and is the reason I continue to use it, yet I can't get it to work this time!!!!

If you go into Options | Advanced Options | Default Services if your Calendar get to your google account?
Also have you tried using the Reset Calendar Sync command?

  • End of GOOGLE SYNC work around (or app) for WIRELESS sync for Gmail calendar

    thnx for help !
i use my google calendar exclusively -no Outlook at all, no desktop manager ever.
With my Curve  i used to use GOOGLE SYNC to immediately update and sync manually.
There is no more GOOGLE SYNC (support ended) ...  Not for my new Tour as it still was working on Curve 12/12/12.
I timed my update I made on my Google calendar online and it took 30 minutes for the bbery calendar to show the update using the wireless sync in the Tour setup.
HOW CAN I MANUALLY tell my bberry to sync wirelessly instead of waiting for however long it takes to auto sync ?
Why did it take so long?
is there a WIRELESS work around or an APP  for the end of Google sync?
    Using Tour 9630
    thanks again!

Could you please ellaborate on which other helps, you've tried?
Data plans are not available for 9780 in Denmark, rendering me unable to access my Google Calendar, except from going through a browser - not ideal, by any means.
So... Any workaround would be appreciated - even only for primary calendar.
I know Nokia has working apps such as Googasync, but I'm unable to find similar for BB (which is curious, as they are both based on S60).

You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device.

  • How do I wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1

How do I set up my devices to wirelessly synch my Notes using iCloud among iPad, iPhone 5S and Outlook 2013 running on Windows 8.1?

    Hey bwind,
You will want to first create an iCloud account, if you haven’t already:
Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4436
Next, sign in to that iCloud account on your iPhone and iPad, and turn on the syncing for notes:

    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3c79652c
    iCloud - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad995bbafe
Then you will want to download the iCloud Control Panel for Windows:
iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1455
You will find your notes in their own section on Outlook:
    iCloud: Notes overview
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12081
On your Windows computer, your changes are pushed to Microsoft Outlook in the Notes folder of your iCloud email account. You can see your iCloud notes by expanding your iCloud email account in the Outlook folder pane (also called the navigation pane), then selecting the Notes folder in the email account.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Clarification with Google Sync and Gmail account

I recently linked my gmail account to my phone and prior to this i was using google sync to link my google calendar and phone calendar. After adding my gmail i began to get multiple contacts and calandar entries...Does anyone know why?

    Hello,
Currently, the BIS system provides for the wireless synchronization of Calendar and Contacts with Google, with no need to synchronize via USB tether via the Desktop Software. So, if you have activated this new BIS feature AND also have some other channel for loading that information to your BB, that would indeed result in duplication. You will need to shut one or the other off and just have one channel for synchronizing that data.
    Good luck!

  • Is there a Google Sync Alternative for sync'ing Exchange Calendar with iCal?

Previously, I was using Google Sync (one-way) to sync calender events between my microsoft outlook calendar and google calendar which I then had sync'd with my iphone.  I had to format my computer and now when I try looking for the software (Google Sync) it looks to only be available for Google Apps Business Accounts now.  I read up online and it looks like Google has made this change earlier in the year.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can have my outlook calendar events updated on my iphone without connecting directly to the exchange server?
    Thanks

Google calendar will sync with your phone directly. Choose Calendar as one of the things to sync under your Gmail acount settings. I would then check the Google help docks for information on how to sync your computer calendar to Google Calendar.
For what it's worth, I stopped using a calendar app on my computer years ago. I just go directly to the Google Calendar through my browser. Yes, I actually do have it synced to iCal but, as I hate iCal, I never look at that app or use it to enter appointments.

  • Cannot get wireless keypad to sync with imac.

Cannot get new wireless keyboard to sync.

Tough to help you without knowing what the device is, I'm assuming it's at least a blue tooth device and  you have checked to see if it's compatible with 10.8.3.

  • Address Book Google sync gone?

I'm distressed to see that the Google syncing functionality of Address Book has gone away in Lion. And no, you can't sync contacts from the "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" preference pane, only Mail & Notes, Calendars, and Chat.
I've CalDAV could be another option, but it would be nice if this functionality was built in as

When I look under "Accounts" in the Adress Book preferences, there is an option for syncing with Mobile Me, Google, and Yahoo in the right column.
    Hope this helps!

The hard drive on our computer died and we lost all of our purchases in the account. Is there a way to recover the songs we have paid for? If we plug in our iPod to a new account, won't it erase everything during the synch process? Help!

If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then transfer purchases form your ipod.
    Without syncing, click File>Transfer Purchases

  • IPhone Wireless Synch

I assume you will be able to synch the new 4s in the same manner using a usb cable.  The reason I ask is I can't quite wrap my head around how you could specify what to synch on the initial setup.  I have tons of apps and music on my computer but synch using the checkbox method (selecting by checkmarks to select what events in iPhoto, play lists, contacts, etc..)  If you synch wirelessly out of the box, all of your content will be transfrerred.
Once the initial setup is done, a wireless synch would be great as it tranfers bought apps and songs on the fly when purchased.  It's only the initial setup I'm not sure of.

    Twysted_Syte wrote:
These answers are great to this persons question.  However, how do you use wireless sync to begin with.  I can not seem to access it on either my iPhone 4 or iPod touch 4?
First of all, you must be running iOS 5 and the latest iTunes.  Then, you need to do a final wired sync and enable the option to use wifi sync (it is on the iTunes information tab of your iPhone or iPad when plugged in).  You cannot just wifi sync out of the box - it is an option in iTunes that must first be enabled by connecting the device by the cable connection and doing a normal wired sync.  Also in iTunes preferences, under devices, make sure that the option is not disabled for that device.
After you have enabled it and run that last wired sync, you will be set up to use wifi sync.  From then on, when you open iTunes, and have your iDevice on the same wifi network, it will automount in iTunes.  You can then either manuall force a sync (from iTunes or the iDevice) or just plug in the device and it will autosync (as long as iTunes is open on your computer, and your computer is not asleep).

  • Using "send mail as" with google sync

I recently migrated from an Android Phone to the Iphone 4s. I set my mail, contacts, and calenders up to sync through google sync. It is working well except the "send mail as" feature. I run 2 different email addresses through my gmail. I have my personal gmail address and my business domain address I use for work. On my android phone when I am composing an email on my phone I have the ability to choose wether I am sending the mail from my business or personal email. I have found this feature extremely useful.
I got very excited after I read that you can enable "send mail as" on google sync with ios. I went to google sync site on my safari browser and enabled the feature. I then synced the phone again. I don't know what I am missing but I do not see an option in the mail app to change the address I am sending from? Is there something else I need to enable or I am missing a simple menu that is hidden? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

    You're welcome.
Any problem with a 3rd party app is the responsibility of the app developer. In this case, that is Google with their Google sync program for the iPhone, so take it up with Google.

Very helpful.  Please stop spreading your FUD* you elitest know-it-all.
This is NOT a google issue. It's an APPLE issue.  APPLE'S iOS Mail App does not properly support IMAP, the very popular, very standardized protocol with which gmail (and countless other mail services) communicates with any 3rd party.  (for clarity theres' also POP3 but doesn't matter here).
Let's look at a few simple observations, k?
Sender aliasing with gmail (once configured in your gmail account) works with
Thunderbird - a real IMAP client -and I think even with Outlook, arguably useless as a mail client by many yardsticks.
It works in Thunderbird on Windows.
it works in Thunderbird on a Mac.
It works in Apple Mail.app, on a Mac.
It works in the gmail app on iOS.
Are you getting the sense there's a pattern here??  I am!
It works EVERYWHERE there's a decent mail client to support it...
But it doesn't work in APPLE'S MAIL on iOS.**
    Hmmmmm...
Oh, ok.. you're right.  Must be a gmail thing...
oh wait, didn't work when I set up my business email server either...  hmmm.
Nahh.  You're right.  Still must be gmail's fault...
    </sarcasm>
    * Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt.
** It could probably work in ANOTHER imap client on iOS but we'll never know what such a thing looks like because AAPL won't allow it (!!?)  It could even work in Apple's client if they'd bring it up to circa 1998 standards..

  • Google Sync with iCal

    Hi there.
I understand that the following is mostly concerned with the Google side of things, which is why I have posted it as well in the google support forum here. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=266674bb5a2e2af2& hl=en
However there are a few questions here that are applicable to Mac and iCal, and Mac Mail. However if anyone knows any answers to any of the questions on the google side of things then please share.
I want to make proper use of Google's OTA service. As I have an android phone and a Mac I use everyday, It would be fantastic If I could easily add tasks, calander events and contacts on every device so that they sync properly.
    *Calendar sync*
I have set up iCal to sync with Google Calendar. Only events I add on Google Calendar seem to sync with iCal. All events from Google calendar go onto my phone however and iCal. I synced my account by going to preferences --> sync with google account. However I came across this, http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=99358#ical
Will the above link sync events from iCal --> google calendar? or is it essencially the same as the other sync I did?
Is there also a way to sync every calendar in iCal to Google Calendar (and therefore my phone), as I can only sync (at the moment) the specific google calendar within iCal.
    *Tasks sync*
I just wondered if there was a programe that worked on Mac and with android phones, that syncs tasks from phone to computer and vice versa. i.e when I complete a task on my phone, its automatically checked off on my computer. Is that google tasks?
I have set up tasks in iCal, is there anyway I can sync those to Google Calendar? Is there a programe that anyone recommends that will sync tasks from Mac --> to Google Calendar --> to phone and the other way round.
    Contacts
Currently I have set up the same sync as in iCal therefore, will new contacts I create either in Address Book or Google Contacts and changes to my contacts (i.e on my phone) sync across easily to Apple's Address book (and vice versa).
    Email
I connected my Mac mail to my gmail a long time ago via a very complicated way. Now when I updated my computer, its become easier to add gmail accounts. Should I remove the account for gmail on mac mail, and add it again with the new simpler method. This might explain that whenever I send mail through my phone or online at gmail.com it never goes into the sent box on mac mail.
For instance, The last message I sent (according to Mac mail) wasn't the last message I sent on my phone or through gmail.com.
Currently the incoming mail server on mac mail is set at pop.gmail.com should it be imap.gmail.com (which is the new way of connecting) or are they both the same.
I know I raised loads of questions and repeated myself alot, but if anyone can answer any of them or give any advice, then it would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

    Hey kiranvemuri,
It sounds like the issue is solely with your Google calendar and its interaction with iCal. Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue:
iCal 5.x: Set up a calendar account in iCal
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4737
Set up a Google or Yahoo! account
Choose iCal > Preferences and click Accounts.
To add a new account, click Add in the lower-left corner.
Enter your Google or Yahoo! email address and password, and then click Create.iCal finds any calendar accounts associated with the email address you provide.
I would suggest that you use the information above to delete the Google account from iCal, then set it up again in iCal. If you still encounter difficulty, this article should be some help as well:

  • Alternatives to Verizon Wireless Synch?

no longer receive email on my Treo 755 through Verizon apparently because Wireless Synch is no longer supported. Are there any alternative ways to get email now? I see Versa Mail among possible downloads but don't know if this would work.
Post relates to: Treo 755p (Verizon)

Versamail works different than Wireless Sync: it connects directly to the mail server. Wireless Sync could work with webmail accounts that don't allow POP or IMAP access. If your mail account allows POP or IMAP access, then VersaMail has a good chance of working for you.
If you go into support and look at the Verizon Centro, bonus software downloads, you can get the "full" version of VersaMail (somewhere down the list). I think past threads confirmed that version runs on the 755p, but I don't have any links handy to prove it.
    Any luck?

    Hi alex12344321,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Your Gmail® calendar will synchronize only with the calendar you have set as default on your BlackBerry® Torch™ 9800 smartphone. You can verify or modifiy this in Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Default Services.
This KB article provides more information on synchronizing calendars."Using the Calendar application on a BlackBerry smartphone that supports multiple CICAL service books" http://bbry.lv/Pze8O2
