Wireless to landline calling

verizon treats verizon wirless to verizon landline calls the same way as verizon wireless to non-verizon landline numbers. verizon landline is fully digital and in the same network. it makes perfect sense to treat the wirless to landline same as wirless to wireless when all in verizon network when creating the wireless plans. such change in the plans will get more customers for both wirless and landline services of verizon.
i have both services at my home from verizon and when i call home from my own wireless phone, my wife has to hang up and pick up her wireless phone to call me so that we can avoid the wirless to landline extra charges of our verzion wireless plan.
If verizon makes this change, it can gain a lot more customers. i am wondering why verizon wireless has not noticed this yet after verizon landline has become fully digital in recent years. maybe the two groups do not talk to each other and it hurts the company.

Most new customers will be on the unlimited minutes plan so it won't matter, if they even have a landline.

  • Charged for landline call

I think I've been charged for a landline call after starting my subscription.  Can someone please help me?  I can't get chat to work.  Being that this is a paid service (skype), you should have available customer service.

Check you usage history to make sure that the number you are being billed for is a US number.  Be aware that SMS, Shared-cost, Premium and non-regional numbers, are not covered by any subscription and will require credit.  I personally have never dialed a US number not supported by my subscription.  Make sure your subscription appears active in your account as well.  Your Skype number will be found in the Skype number section of the account.  The call subscription should be found on the right side of your main account page if active.

  • Can I use my iPhone(s) to answer landline calls?

    Hi,
My landline handsets are coming towards the end of thier functional lives..... and I need to replace them.  The thing is that we rarely use the landline, but have three handsets/chargers as our house has three floors.  Ideally I'd like to get shot of all of them and replace them with a device that can route landline calls to our Iphones, without making use of call forwarding/divert which will chew money up on my landline account.
There are quite a few devices that allow mobile calls to be recived on home phone handsets via bluetooth, but I'm wondering whether there is something that will go the other way.
    Thanks.

There are some devices available that allow for connecting mobile phones to the landline bases. You would have to search those devices and find if any of them are compatible with the iPhone. I would say at this point that Google could be your friend.

First check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.
Then change them to "Allow calls to my Skype Number from Only people from my Contacts List".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.
Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone".

  • New unlimited local landline call subscription, Au...

Our family have been using Skype to Skype at home for a number of years now. Yesterday I purchased an unlimited local calls to landline subscription. Completed the setup, received my confirmation email, logged in, and thought I would test it out by calling my home landline. The phone doesn't ring and straight away Skype tells me "no answer". I try 5 times, always the same result. Then I think well maybe it's just my phone I try a couple friends landlines and the neighbor who I know is home, but its always the same, "no answer".
I can make Skype to Skype calls. My account shows that I have unlimited minutes. Paypal have confirmed the payment.
So what am I doing wrong?

I am going to purchase unlimited landline calls to Australia, say paying montly.  Does this payment mean that I literally have unlimited use of minutes each month, or is it restricted.
Subject to Skype's fair-use policy for subscriptions and the general terms of service, yes - you could call landline numbers throughout Australia.  Note that this will not cover calls to mobiles (anything starting with 04xx area codes), nor will it cover calls to 13 or 1300 numbers.  You would need to purchase Skype Credit or another subscription that covers calling to mobile phones if you needed that (there are no "unlimited" subscriptions for calling Australian mobile phones), and no subscriptions cover calls to 13 or 1300 numbers (you always need to pay for those calls with Skype Credit).  Calls to Australian toll-free numbers are free from Skype, but Skype may not be able to connect you to all toll-free numbers in that country.
When using Skype to call phones, you would need to dial them using the international format - the plus sign "+" followed by the country code (61 for Australia), then the area code without any leading zeros (2 instead of 02 for Sydney, 3 instead of 03 for Melbourne, etc.) and the rest of the number.  Even if the number you are dialing is in your house or next door to you.
    Good luck!

  • Unlimited group landline calls everyday?profile.la...

    Hi,
I am intending to use Skype to call landline calls in Greece.
The pattern I am going to use it is as follows: This will occur every day. The call durations will be 3 hours long the most. Depending on the day, these calls, will be either once a day or 4 times a day. Moreover, in all cases, group voice call will be used.
Is the pattern I described according to the FUP for use with the Unlimited Greece, or is there a need to use a different subscription?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

    Hello,
The Fair Usage Policy restricts calls to a maximum of two-hour periods for all Subscriptions.  Once a call has reached two hours, it will be automatically disconnected. However, you’ll be able to dial the same number again straight away.
An alternative is to call using Skype Credit where there would be no service interruption.

  • Unlimited landline calls in Australia - where has ...

I live in Australia and for many years have been on a Skype plan with unlimited calls to landline phones in Australia.  I changed my visa card and forgot to change the details with Skype. They sent 1 email (which I ignored thinking it was just advertising) advising me that the payment request to my old visa card had been rejected, then cancelled my account.  This is all fair enough, but I cant find the unlimited landline calls plan again to re-register.  The only option seems to be a plan for worldwide landline and mobile calls. Has the Australian unlimited landline call plan gone to the grave or is it just too hard to find for a doddery old bloke.

Selected users within Australia see a different subscription offering on the Skype rates page as we are running a new revamped Skype Premium trial.
Since your old Unlimited Australia subscription expired because of the payment method having been invalidated your only subscription offering in Australia is the new Skype Premium. Have a look at the minute packages for the new Skype Premium which might serve the purpose for you.
    UPDATE:
I just learned that you should be able to reactivate your "old" Unlimited Australia subscription like this:
Sign in to your account at www.skype.com/go/myaccount
In the Account details section, select “Subscriptions”
Please check if you see your Unlimited Australia subscription there. By clicking on „Reactivate“ you will be transferred to the payment flow for the subscription. Please see if you see the original rate again using the subscription reactivation option.

  • Weird thing: My Iphone 5c automatically took over a landline call while I was sitting at my desk. Really! What's more it turned it into a Facetime call.

I placed a call on my office landline, My IPhone 5c was on my desk in front of me. The person I called did not have my cell number. But I was calling his cell number from the landline. All of a sudden my landline went dead and my IPhone lit up with my picture in upper right and his picture in the main part of the screen. It was freaky. Anyone experienced this? We concluded our business with facetime. What happened?

Again if you want to help do so here. Drawing posters to email conversations is against the TOS of this forum.
    Anyway:
Currently there is no way to remotely hack an iPhone. If it was doing strange things it may have been a glitch or bug in the iPhone.
Have you tried restarting the phone?  Hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons  until the Apple logo shows up.
If its still acting up a replacement would be in order.

  • 5s, ios 7.1.2 - when callers from LANDLINE call, it only rings once

This will sound downright odd. For the last two months, when someone calls from a LANDLINE, the CALLER hears one ring and then just silence. In the meantime, my iphone is ringing like normal. And typically the caller will hang up because they don't hear the phone ringing. So I tried recreating this with my work landline. When I called the iphone from the landline it rang once and then just silence....and eventually it did go to voicemail. But if you don't know to wait through the long silence, you can't leave a message.
Even weirder: when you call iphone to iphone, it works just fine. Rings like normal for the Caller.
But landline to iphone? One ring for the caller and then silence. I'm losing important business calls and I'm frustrated. I've been to the Apple Store. They were able to recreate the problem but didn't have a fix. And when I went to Sprint, they were not able to recreate the problem so they looked at me like I was nuts and told me to just delete all my voicemails and reset my voicemail. Which I did. To no end. It didn't solve anything.
So I'm probably heading back to both the Apple Store and the Sprint store tomorrow. But I figured I could at least see if anyone else had any experience with this or any ideas on potential causes or fixes.
    Thanks for any help.

I would address this with the carrier. Call setup is done by the carrier, and since you are not having any issues with other calls, it seems it has to do with something setting up on their end. The phone does not contain any type of setting for what a person hears when they call your number. They should be able to do a reset on your account, since this only seems to involve receiving calls from a landline phone. If it had been me, I would have looked at Sprint like they were nuts when they talked about your voicemail, since it has absolutely nothing to do with that. The carrier also has control of the time period the device rings before it goes to voicemail. You can try with Apple again, but I don't see anything that could be done on the phone to change this, since you are not having any issue receiving calls.

  • Can't make landline call from Canada to Ireland

I have used skype severla years.  I can not make a call I have made many times from Canada ro Irelland.  Call is initated but no sound of ringing occures.  After while I am told the person is not avaliable but I can leave a VM. Very strange!  Any ideas would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Does Skype have customer services at all? How come no one reply to this post? I could not make phone call to Skype Online Number from my cell (carrier: T-mobile). • Deleting Voicemail from Landline Call Does not Delete Voicemail from iPhone

I am a Verizon subscriber with an iPhone 4S, if that matters to this issue.
I wanted to cleanup my voicemail and not use any of my minutes.  So, I called my iPhone from a landline at the office and entered the voicemail system.  As a test, I deleted the first 3 voicemail messages.  Then I went to the voicemail on my iPhone and checked for messages--the three I had deleted while on the landline phone were still on my iPhone and could still be played.
Why don't the messages that are deleted from a landline, or another incoming call to the voicemail center, get deleted on the iPhone?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.
So will deleting the voicemail message on the iPhone delete it from the call-in Verizon system?
With two ways of accessing voicemail, on the iPhone Visual Voicemail and from a call-in line to your phone number to Verizon's system, it would seem that the two could get seriously out of sync.  Isn't this a big problem?
Which is the "master" system.  Don't they ever resync together?
