Wireless trouble with C4780 recognizing router with Mac 10.8.2

I had to reset my Time Capsule (router) due to Hurricane Sandy and my printer refuses to recognize my Network so that I can put in my new network name and password.  It won't recognize anything even when I connect the printer via USB to the computer and to the router (Time Capsule).  When I run those connectivity tests, it says the Network Status is offline.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is my Network offline because the printer will not connect with it or is it offline because there is an offline section on the printer or on the computer that has been inadvertently checked that keeps the printer from being recognized?

  • Troubles with Mac Wireless connection from a PC

Okay, I'm a novice with proper technical terms, but I'll try and describe the problem best I can.
Here's what we have: Mac desktop computer, hooked up to the internet. That Mac desktop has wireless, and is able to transfer that internet connection to other wireless computers. We also have a Mac laptop and a Dell laptop. When the security is turned off, both laptops can pick up the connection just fine.
However, we want the security on for obvious reasons, and when it is turned on, the Mac laptop logs in, no problems. The Dell laptop sees the wireless network, but when I try to connect, it asks me for the Network Key and no matter what we try it will not work.
Anyone know how to solve this problem - other than throwing the Dell out the window and getting a Mac laptop?

    You can't solve this problem.
When using a Mac as a software base station (sharing internet via Airport) a non-Mac will NOT be able to connect if you use a password.
The only real option is to use a wireless router.

  • Trouble with Mac Unexpectedly Quitting

I have a iMac with the following hardware overview:
    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
    SMC Version: 1.20f4
I have trouble with programs unexpectedly quitting and am having trouble finding out what's wrong. The most problems occur when using Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 (which happens multiple times daily, usually if not always when I'm trying to save), but I've also had Safari quit unexpectedly. I've been working with both Apple Care and the Adobe technical support and have found no solutions as of yet. Here are all of the things I've tried to date (and none have yet solved the problem):
    - Emptied Cache and Cookies folders
    - Run Repair Disk Permissions & Verify Disk
    - Re-installed Adobe Photoshop Elements
    - Created a new user account and tried running the program from within there
    - Booted up the computer in safe mode and run the program (still quit unexpectedly)
Was being helped by Apple Care once again and they were going to have me re-install Max OS X, but the guy suggested I post here first for advice.
I do have the option of upgrading to Max OS X Leopard, but didn't want to complicate things (although maybe they'd improve).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Definitely not a tech wiz, but do understand a bit.
    Thanks for reading this...

  • Troubles with Mac connect to PC based wireless?

Sorry, this is probably an extremely moronic question, but i really need help. we have DSL internet being run through a wireless SBC router. the PC's in the House (XP) pick up the wireless network fine, but the Macs on the other hand, do not. I have an Airport Extreme card in my G4 mirror door, and in the airport connect, it doesn't even list the network that i'm trying to connect to. i've been entering the network name in various fields, as well as the network password (WEP network), but it always says there is an error connecting.
On the PC's, we were able to just see the network, connect, and enter the password. The mac's, however, cannot even find the network to connect to. this is quite frustrating. do i need to plug an actual Apple Airport into the SBC router to get signal in the MAC? i sure hope not. HELP is much appreciated!!! many thanks everyone!

The only PowerMac G4 model in which you can use an Airport Extreme card is the one with the 800MBps Firewire interface. Suffice it to say that if your Mac now has an Airport menu item (and it certainly seems yours does) then you have the correct card and your Mac has recognized its installation.
However - when you installed the card - did you also remember to plug the internal Airport antenna cable into its socket on the Airport card itself. The antenna plug connector must be FULLY seated into its socket - and doing that properly takes a fair bit of force.

  • Router troubles with mac

Hello again, this is the second time I'm posting this, but I have a shabby D-link router. On my mac, msn will consistantly log me out and give me various excuses, such as system is unavalible...bla bla bla. I think it's the router doing it, I used to get errors in safari and Internet explorer about not being able to connect to the server and then apon a second click it would snap in, it has stopped doing that, but msn is still logging me out ,ect, ect. My windows computer hooked up to the router via ethernet cable doesn't do this which doesn't make sense but does at the same time. Is there some reason my ibook is doing this? And would someone plese reply to me this time

    Hello
First lets find out if it is the router, or the web browzer.
Open a terminal window and use the ping command. Type the following command
    ping -c 10 MSN.com
The ping command is use to see if your internet connection is good.
    -c 10 means how many times u reach MSN.com
look at the results, if u read 0 lost packets u have a good connection to the internet, Basicly the router is letting access the internet. If u lost some packets check the router settings.
The other thing to check is your web browzer. Does it only logs u out from msn, check other web site and see what happens. Some site are not very user freindly with SAfari. Try Firefox web browzer at firefox.com. I use this browzer, when sites are not Safari freindly and works fine.

  • HP Deskjet F380 - How to put on wireless network with Mac ? What print router is required?

    Hi I need some advice.
I need to wirelessly network my Deskjet F380 printer (All in 0ne) I use MacBook and iBook. I need to know which wireless router would be suitable.
    Can anyone help.
    Thanks
    Andy

Sorry, that Wi-Fire didn't solve the problem. The issue, most likely, is Wi-Fi interference due to building construction material between the 7th & 9th floors. I would know of only two other options: 1) Run Ethernet between the floors, or 2) Employ Powerline adapters which take advantage of the building's AC circuit.
For the second option, you would need a minimum of two adapter, one for near the router on the 9th floor and the second near your computer on the 7th. An Ethernet patch cord would then be connected between the 9th floor router and the first adapter, and a second patch cable connected between the second adapter & your computer.

  • Problems pairing wireless keyboard with Mac mini

    Hi,
I just bought a new Mac mini with wireless keyboard and mouse and cannot pair the wireless keyboard during the initial set up. Took out the batteries, turned off the mini, still doesn't work. I'm looking into borrowing a regular USB keyboard an running through the set up with this so I can get started. Is there another solution?
    Thanks.

Isn't it great when you solve your own problems. The USB keyboard allowed me to get up an running. When I went to the bluetooth preferences, I set up the wireless keyboard and haven't had a problem since.

  • Bluetooth trouble with Mac Pro

    Hi
I have recently bought a D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth Adapter for my Mac Pro and i am losing connection with my devices on waking the Mac Pro from sleep, both my Logitech Bluetooth Mouse and a Jabra headset. Typically I need to disconnect and reconnect the adapter before they will work again. Does anyone know what i can do to get this working properly. I get the same issues whether i plug the adapter into the front of the Mac Pro or the back of my Cinema Display which is ideally where i would like to connect it.
    thanks

  • Trouble with Mac and Cable Modem

Every time I turn on my Mac I have to reboot my modem. I have to unplug every cable and leave for a few minutes before I can hook everything back up. Sometimes I even have to plug my modem into a different cable outlet to reset it. Is this an issue with my internet cable provider or do I need to adjust a setting on my Mac. This is has become very aggravating and any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ben.

I am having the same issue I think. I have a Motorola hooked up to my Airport Extreme. The last 5 mornings I haven't been able to access the internet. Yesterday I went and checked the lights on the front of the modem and noticed that only the top 2 were lit- the third one blinked. So I reset the modem. Worked fine the rest of the day. This morning I booted up my MBP and same thing. Looked at the lights- the third light is just blinking. Called Comcast and they checked. Said my modem was 'offline' and not connecting. Said that it had gone bad- I suspected so. Not too long ago we had to replace the old Apple router with a new one so I was guessing that the modem was bad and they confirmed it. So I will be shopping for a new one. FYI- reset the modem again this morning after talking to Comcast and it's working fine. Just thought I'd chime in. Judy

  • Cisco 340 wireless card with Mac OS 9?

I'm trying to get a Cisco 340 Wireless pcmcia card working with my G3 laptop (wallstreet) running 9.2.2. Can anyone tell me what software I need to get to make this work? Is the driver included with Airport software? Is there a generic wireless card system extension that I need? I'm kind of lost here.

  • (Cross Post! SORRY!)  Having trouble with Mac Pro and Vista/Boot Camp

I feel like this board is more populated, so I thought I'd post this here as well. Forgive me.
Ok, so it took me forever to install Vista. It kept saying my partition wasn't valid even after I'd format it. After restarting like 15 times it finally went through. So, it installed.
BUT, now I have two issues. When Vista starts, I get this weird jumble of like MS-DOS text talking about partitions, weird numbers, my monitors just flash and kinda go nuts with the text then at the top after like 10 second of text, it says 'booting windows vista' with more ms-dos text. Finally after 30 seconds of that, it shows me that green bar that shows up to load Vista then voila, Vista is up and running. The OS works fine, but no matter what, I go through that jumble of text. Any way to get rid of it? What's wrong with it?
Also, now that I've installed Vista, I can't get back into OS X. I have a wireless PC keyboard and a wireless bluetooth Apple keyboard, so I don't know what to do. When I go into Vista's Control Panel to select Startup Disk it says it can't load the program. So I'm at a loss. I really wanna get back into OS X!
    Any help would be fantastic!!

Ok, I fixed the issue by using the wireless PC keyboard. I put the Vista install DVD in the drive and restarted the computer. The computer wouldn't recognize the OS X DVD.
I remembered that the computer would register the keyboard inputs after restarting from the Vista Install Screen, so I restarted, held down alt on the PC keyboard and it worked!
Now with the apple keyboard working, I restarted and reset the PRAM which made the computer boot into OS X by default instead of Vista.
BUT, I still get that weird DOS text every time I load Vista, and now after keeping Vista running for a few hours, it starts kinda glitching over time. It loses connection with the network (I had to physically unplug and plug back in the ethernet cable to get it to recognize the network) and for some reason in order to use my apple keyboard, I have to turn it off and on when I get into Vista. It's annoying.
Anywho, if anyone can help me with my Vista problems, that'd be grand :P

  • TROUBLE with Mac OS X Tiger install on G4 iMac 1.25 GHz

Trying to install retail copy of Mac OS X Tiger 10.4 onto an iMac G4 1.25 GHz running OS X 10.3.9. The DVD shows up on the desktop when inserted, but after clicking install and waiting for the reboot, the system just loads OS X 10.3.9 and NOT the 10.4 setup.
Inserting the CD and holding "C" during startup yields the blinking system folder with the question mark.
Apparently no firmware updates are needed and the iMac meets the requirements. Any ideas, suggestions, or workarounds are much appreciated.
I also have a MacBook Pro (Intel, of course), and was wondering if there was any way to use it to install the PPC version of 10.4 on the iMac. (Can I boot the iMac as target disk mode on my MBP and install the PPC version of Tiger onto it that way? I don't know if that will work with the intel/ppc hiccup.)
Someone please tell me how to get this working!

Yes, unless you have the original install disks that came with the computer ( with iLife included) you will have to buy iLife. However, iLife 11 requires an intel processor and snow leopard. If you don't meet those requirements you should try to find an older version. ( usually you can find something on amazon.com)

  • Wireless internet with mac and windows

    hi,
    I have a ibookG4 version 10.4.8 and i have a Windows XP computer with AT&T/AOL.
I am trying to install wireless internet on my IbookG4. I purchase an AirPort Express Base Station (Model # A1084)and try to connect it to my G4 but it did not work.
Is there something else I need to purchase?
    I appreciate any help/assistance.

You may just need to turn on the AirPort card that is already in the iBook.
The following Apple Knowledge Base article may help you get it up and going:
