Wireless upgrade

We have new 5508 Controllers, ISE Server, Mobility Services Server new 3600 Access Points that will replace current 4400 Controllers, NAC, Location Server and all access points.
Is it possible to build new Controllers with the same SSID as current Controllers and associate new Access Points with new Controllers ONLY. Even though the SSID's will be the same I want to segregate old vs. new and gradually migrate 100 Access Points over a period. Basically I don't want to interfere or break Production.
this maybe a bit vague, all replies would be appreciated.

Yeah... I'm a risky mo fo, but luck I know what works and doesn't work:). I have cutover large environments but prefer not to run in parallel unless the two systems can work together. So that means old Cisco and New Cisco. I have had implementations that the client wanted to migrate sections at a time and that really doesn't work too well. Roaming breaks and if you cutover a floor at a time, well devices might connect to an AP above or below and break roaming. My preference it a full cut and not phases:). But that means that new cable has to be ran to all the new APs and when we cut, it's just a matter or shutting down the old AP's and running a script to admin up the new APs.

  • Unable to Delete Previous Update/Wireless Upgrades Hangs

I have a BlackBerry Curve 8310 and recently upgrade the OS to 4.5. I read in the manual that the old OS is kept on the BB for 30 days but can be deleted by going to Options - Advanced - Wireless Upgrades. However, when I do that it just says Retrieving Upgrades and never does anything. Hitting the menu key does nothing either. Any advice? Thanks.
    Carl

I've never heard of that... If you are pleased with the new upgrade, don't worry about the old.
I don't believe it is still on your device.

  • HP2050 J510A is it compatible with Hp wireless upgrade Kit

Hi I wish to buy a HP wireless upgrade kit to fit on my HP Deskjet 2050 J510A printer.
I want to know if it is compatible with my HP printer
    Thank you,
    TigerTears.

    Hello-
That is an awesome part, I think it would work great. Although it doesn't show your particular model printer on the compatible list, It should work. I'll include the link to call a sales person to ask about "return" time if it doesn't.

Keep in mind, you can almost buy a new printer for about the same price. If you call Tech Support (1-800-474-6836), you can receive savings for being a loyal HP customer (Out of WTY upgrade) and could get extended WTY (carepack) for and extra dollar !!

    Hi,
The following page shows compatible printers:
       http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF32a/A10-51210-64245-64448-64245-3200075-3200076-3200078.ht...
I can't find HP 520 (probably different country) but I can find the following list for J510* printers:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02063036&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
All J510* printers can't use the kit.

  • How do I get the wireless upgrade on my Satellite 2450-201?

I'm a total newbie to the wireless world. Currently have a main PC that a broadband connection. I have my Toshiba laptop for my uni work and need constant internet access which proves difficult with 5 in the family using the broadband connection on the PC
How to I go about upgrading my laptop for wireless use? Any recommendations about which router to use also?

    Hi
The Wi-Fi is optional on this notebook.
This means the WLan could be available at time of purchase or through the upgrade program or from an authorized Toshiba service provider.
In my knowledge the minPCI WLan card could be pleased inside the notebook.
But the usage of the USB Wlan stick would be the simplest way to get the notebook WLan ready.
You ask for the best router??? Many ISP provides own router devices. I would recommend using a WLan router which supports 802.11 B and G standards.
If you will use such router you have to buy also a WLan USB stick which supports the same WLan standards.

  • Using HP wireless Upgrade Kit with HP Color Laserjet CP1215

I just recently purchased the HP Color Laserjet CP1215 and attempted to install and use the upgrade wireless kit but I can't get it to install.  It will go through the process until it gets to the point where it either can not find the PC adapter or that the PC and printer adapter don't connect.  I am not sure what to do.  The only error message I receive is that the HPWlan.exe file has an error and will not load.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

You need to post more detail. Which Windows? Describe Wifi and software more. Otherwise the number of people who could help you is narrowed to just those who have your printer and the same wifi upgrade kit.

  • Wireless upgrade and screen goes dim questions? - 2different things in one thread

I have a T42.  Recent upgrade is replacing the hard drive and upgrade the RAM to max.  I am thinking of upgrading the wireless card to improve the internet speed.  Any suggestion?
The machine was not behaving lately.  The screen went dim (very dim) and sometimes black and white.  It seems that it went to battery mode by itself.  Wondering what causes this?  The machine was connected to AC and I set never hibernate and turn-off when AC plug-in.
    Thanks.

Cannot possibly be, as for one it is a desktop computer that has no power management, and two the menu bars, tools and everything else stays the same brightness, it is only the editing window itself.
Thank you for trying, it is appreciated.

  • T530 wireless upgrade question

I'm looking to upgrade my wireless card to the ultimate 6300, i have all 3 cables. looking online there seems to be an univeral model and a lenovo made model, is there any difference as in one would/wouldnt work? Thanks

    'afternoon.
    just an fyi...
if the 6300 isn't on the adapter white list in bios, you'll throw a boot error. looking in the latest tabook, i don't see the adapter listed as an option or accessory for the t530. i don't have a canonical list of white-listed adapters to check, though.
    regards.

  • 17-1181nr Laptop wireless upgrade options

    Hello,
This is a situation that most people will need to address at some point with thier laptop. I have a 2 year old HP Envy 17-1181nr.  I want to replace the internal Broadcom wireless card with one that supports 802.11ac so I don't have to glue some ugly USB adapter to the back of the screen that will break off in my bag anyway. The BIOS needs to accept it.  It needs to take advantage of the existing internal antenna and connecter, and have drivers for Windows 8.1 64-bit.  I only see 3 MB/s local network file transfer rates on a 150 mb/s connection now and my goal is to triple that.  Everything else on the network is upgraded.
    Thanks everyone.

Well I guess I am willing to take one for the team. Sorry there is no 802.11ac adapter available for that model. We here at the Forum do not work for HP we just try to help. The BIOS will block any effort to install one of the 802.11ac adapters. There are hacked BIOS out there you can try. I do not get involved in that either but I can tell you they exist.

  • Wireless Upgrade for T40

I have a T40 2373-47U that I'd like to upgrade the wireless to 801.11n.  First, is that even possible? If so, what wireless card do I look for?  Does it only require a card change out - no antennae replacements I hope!  That looks complicated in the HMM.
    Any help is appreciated!

T4x series wre never offered with a "N" card as an option, so you'll have to source out a Mini PCI (not mini-PCI-e) in that format, and likely apply a "no 1802" hack to allow your machine to use it.
    On eBay:

In interest of full disclosure, I'm NOT affiliated with the seller in any way, if you choose to purchase the card you're doing so at your own risk.
    Cheers,

  • Is there a wireless upgrade kit available for the M521dn ?

7 month old printer in office on ethernet - we now need to go wireless.  Is there an HP product or card available for this printer to upgrade it to wireless?

This should work since you have an Ethernet connection.
Connect wireless printer anywhere, convert from wired, bypass failed radio, add WPA2 security.

  • Laptop wireless upgrade

I have a dv9608nr laptop.  it is a G wireless card, and I would like to upgrade to an "N" compliant card.  Are there cards out there? could not locate one on the HP site...point me in the right direction.

    Hi:
    Yes there is.
If you live in the USA or Canada you can install the Broadcom 4321AGN 802.11a/b/g/n card.
    HP Part # 434661-001
It is also a dual band card with speeds up to 300 MPBS on the 5.0 GHz band.
I got mine in used but tested and working condition on eBay.  Query your search by the part number. The card must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

  • T430 and Intel 7260AC wireless upgrade

    Hi,
Is anyone running the 7260AC in there laptop with success?
    Thanks in advance.

My T430 has the Intel 6205, different from yours but my experience may be helpful.
It was constantly failing to connect to the network. There was no upgrade available from Lenovo system update but I solved this issue by upgrading to the latest PROSet/Wireless Software from Intel.

  • Bluetooth wireless upgrades

Just upgraded OS from Panther to Leopard 10.5.8. Can I now upgrade keyboard & mouse to the bluetooth wireless type?

Let me direct you to the correct forum. This is the Apple Discussions for the Intel iMacs, not the PowerPC iMacs.
    Using your iMac (Flat Panel)
For those vintage Macs Bluetooth was an option, not standard build. Otherwise if it was not built with Bluetooth you can often purchase a Bluetooth dongle and plug it into a USB port to add Bluetooth capability. But I am not familiar with the ins and outs of your model and Apple's bluetooth keyboards and mouses. The folks in that forum would be your best help on the issue.
