Wirelessly push CRM appointments to iPhone 4

I use Outlook, MS Dynamics CRM 2011 and Exchange Active Sync for work. My Outlook appointments sync wirelessly to my iPhone 4 iOS 6. My problem is when I create an appointment in CRM. Once the appointment is created it shows up in Outlook but I get an email stating
Synchronization with your iPhone failed for "X" items.
The following items couldn't be sent to your mobile phone. They haven't been deleted. You should be able to access them using either Outlook or Outlook Web App.
However, I am able to sync the appointment to my phone by connecting it to the computer and using iTunes. I used to be able to have those CRM appointments sync wirelessly to my blackberry and I would like to know if it is possible to set that up with my iPhone?

Mine is doing the same thing!!! I think my 2G thinks it's still activated, when I connect it to iTunes it still has my phone number. How do I de-activate it? Today I want to use it as a phone actually and there is no activate option.

IOS 7: Unable to push calendar events to iPhone/ No iPhone Calendars Available

Hi, so I have an iPhone that is not properly merging with iCloud calendar events. As in: the events in iCloud are not pushed down to the iPhone Calendars app.
I can see the events via www.icloud.com
I've turned calendars off/on.
Deleted the iCloud account and re-added and merged with iCloud.
I've deleted the iCloud accout, deleted the data from the iPhone, then reset all settings and tried to sign in and merge again.
All email calendars are turned off.
I'm using the same Apple ID that has the calendar events.
When I open the Calendar app, it won't allow me to add a new calendar event either.
Then when I press Calendars in the Calendar app it only has the Birthday calendars.
There's nothing that says: iPhone calendars.
When I press 'edit' it doesn't allow me add a new calendar (iPhone/Work/Birthdays).
Is there any Setting/troubleshooting that I can change/do so that the iPhone Calendars option re-appears?

I had all sorts of headaches trying to get this to work. But yes, you can do a 1-way sync from Outlook to Google Calendars to make sure Google has ALL your events. You then turn on sync on the iPhone, so the three are in sync.
What I did (do not try this at home ) is I deleted my Google Calendar and turned off sync on the iPhone (deleting the calendar data from my iPhone). I started with ONE source of appoinments. I then removed/reinstalled the Google sync app on my PC and initiated a 1-way sync from Outlook to Google. Now Google had a brand new calendar with all my appointments. I then turned on 2-way sync between my PC and Google. Next step, turn on calendar sync on the iPhone. That way all the appointments from Google (which are all the appointments from Outlook) downloaded onto my iPhone. Voila!

I switched from a BB to an iPhone a few days ago and I knew I was going to miss the QWERTY keyboard but then I also discovered that my GMail doesn't 'push' to my iPhone. I was used to 'push' for all mail accounts on the BB. I also missed being able to personalize text, email, and phone tones for individuals.
I tried the Gmail app for iOS and it does deliver Gmail to the iPhone app quickly but the text is tiny and when it is a web page it's almost impossible to read.
So, I have worked out a kludge to get around these problems.
I added my exisiting Gmail account to the iPhone.
Hotmail does push to iOS 7 so I created a Outlook account (could be hotmail or Live) using the web browser.
I added the hotmail account to the iPhone. I basically use this to give fast notification of important emails on my iPhone.
On my macbook email client I created a rule that 'redirects' incoming mail to the hotmail account. The 'Redirect' is important since the email will show up in the hotmail account on the iPhone as coming from the original sender and you can then respond to the original sender from the iPhone, though the sender will see it as coming from the hotmail account.
The other downside is that you will get a second copy of the email in the gmail inbox on the iPhone, probably 15 minutes later.
If you don't want all of the mail being redirected you can create a 'redirect' group in the Address book and then adjust the rule in Apple mail to only redirect the mail to the hotmail account if the sender is in the redirect group. You can add and delete contacts from this group depending upon which ones you consider to be important. You will still get two copies of the email on the iPhone, one in the hotmail inbox and one in the gmail inbox.
You can prevent this from happening temporarily by turning off, but not deleting, the gmail account on the iPhone. You could then edit the emails on the Apple email client before turning the gmail back on in the iPhone.
And finally if you use the VIP feature in email on the iPhone you can create a list of VIP contacts and then assign a different notification sound for the VIP's. So in effect important contacts mail will be redirect to the iPhone for quick notification and very, very important contacts will have a different notification sound.
I'm basically using the Hotmail account as a notification tool and basically delete all the emails in it since the original copy will be in the gmail account.
And best of all it's all free, except for the bandwidth.

The answer to that is because your phone and your Mac are signed into different accounts. Sign the phone in using the same credentials as the Mac.

Account Appointments using iPhone (Oracle Mobile Assitant)

We are testing Oracle Mobile Sales Assitant using iPhone. We are able to create appointments from iPhone and relate them to Contacts. But we don't see the way to create an appointment for the Account Record. Currently it allows to create individual appointment or create appointments for contact. Could anyone can please help on this.

Sundar, the mobile sales assistant (MSA) supports associating tasks with contacts and accounts, but only supports contacts and users for appointments.

Setting appointments on iPhone, then pushing to Outlook

I can sync Oulook appointments and contacts to my iPhone from my PC. But, how do you sync appointments or contacts entered in the iPhone, while away from the PC, to the PC?

Hi there. Today was the first day that I had to use iPhone to create an appointment; and then push it out to Outlook. I was successful; and the way it was successful is if you have the current version of iTunes; and sync your Outlook to iTunes; it is the conduit between sync-ing your phone to your computer. So when the iPhone is plugged into your computer, it will sync in iTunes and transfer all the appropriates to your Outlook. And I believe it will also take all your recurring appts/meetings too. It did for me.
BTW, this is using Microsoft Outlook 2007.

Calendar appointments on iPhone

Hi. I'm having some trouble setting up appointments in the iPhone calendar app from e-mail messages. When I tap on the time link in the e-mail message, it shows up correctly on the settings panel for the calendar (eg. "Meeting with ..." "from 3 pm to 4 pm" on "Oct. 2"), but then when I accept the appointment, it shows up on the calendar page one hour late (4 pm to 5 pm instead of 3 pm to 4 pm). I've tried adjusting the timezone settings both for the phone as a whole and for the calendar function, but this doesn't seem to change anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Calendar colors will not sync over via USB. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1925 provides more detailed information.
You can push the calendars over the air with Exchange or MobileMe and they will match.

How to push calendar events from iPhone to Google Calendar

I have successfully setup google calendars to sync with my phone and created a test event on google calendar website and it correctly pushed to my phone.
Now, my question is will the events that I already created natively on the iphone while under the Microsoft Outlook calendar push back to google calendars to where I can see them on the website? Will I have to go in and recreate while in specifically the Exchange google calendar or will they push back if I'm in the "All Calendars" view and create an event?
One last thing, I have not synced the phone with itunes yet since activating google calendar sync. Is that required?
Sorry if this is all confusing. I'm just learning the calendar thing for the phone.

HT204409 I have a new iphone 5 and it won't connect to a wireless router that my old iphone 3GS would pick up. Is there a compatibility issue with some routers or is the antenna weaker in the new iphone 5?

Having done a lot of reading today and having found a very good online tablet magazine (will post link tomorrow) there seems to be a few tech bods onto the problem.
The magazine I was reading identified wifi problems within hours of the ios 6 release and have been analysing since then with almost daily updates - the story seems to be:
The apple authenthication transmission is normal, it should slip through event prior to a full handshake with the host network being completed - however if not authenthicated then apple will not permit the device to connect (kills the connection) this is designed to protect apple from counterfeiting. So thats problem 1 if you dont receive a token from apple.
Problem 2 is that ios 6 only supports ipv6 (the new ip protocol) whereas outside silicon valley a large proportion of routers modems etc are still ipv4 protocol.
So youre locked into ipv6 in a world where ipv4 devices are everywhere and apple have not allowed for the ability to handle both protocols. This is like GM telling you your car requires an upgrade, everything will improve etc and as part of the upgrade fits a fuel cell motor and stays silent when their upgraded vehicles are simply parked up because they cannot get fuel.
A very basic expectation would have been dual protocol handling - we know the HW supports ipv4 as all wad fine on ios5.
So its going to be hit and miss with networks - more hit than miss in techy areas like silicon valley, but more miss in places like where I am - a small town in rural Switzerland.
Only apple can fix this with a patch to enable ipv4 protocol handling.
There you go. you just need to buy a new router, I'm sure Apple has one for sale, cause it's not there fault for sure.

I'm having trouble with the brightness and volume keys on my wireless keyboard when its paired with my iphone 4. They won't respond at all. Any fixes? i'm on version 4.3.5

Since the wireless aluminum keyboard was originally intended for personal computer use, I don't believe any of the function keys will work for your iPhone or even an iPad device.

Versamail Exchange ActiveSync wireless push e-mail ONLY; Sync Contacts/Calendar via Desktop/USB

I use a 3rd party conduit, PalmPilot Link for Commence RM CRM software from Commence Corp. which works with the Palm Desktop sync engine to sync my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Memos. Recently I tested VersaMail 3.5.5 on my Rogers Treo 680 (despite zero support from Rogers) with push e-mail and loved it until I discovered I could no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar with Commence. Even with the options in VersaMail to sync Contacts and the Calendar unchecked they would not sync via the USB cable to Commence.
I have come across Palm Article ID: 42600 which states "Once you establish an Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail, you will not be able to sync Calendar, Contacts or Email through the USB HotSync cable". It would be nice if this wasn't the case when synching of Contacts and the Calendar are turned off. A call to technical support confirmed there is no way to do what I need with the current product version.
I have found a competitive product, RoadSync from DataViz does allow me to sync ONLY e-mail with ActiveSync so it would seem to be technically possible. The problem with RoadSync is it's not a true push e-mail on the Treo 680 as far as I can tell and it seems a little pricey with fewer features than VersaMail, except for one feature which is very important to anyone who depends on 3rd party conduits.
Please consider releasing a new version or a patch to allow synching Contacts and the Calendar via USB while using Exchange ActiveSync push e-mail.
Note: The Commence CRM product for Windows has been around for almost 20 years and has supported the Palm OS for about 10 years. Commence users everywhere would love this feature in VersaMail. I do not work for Commence Corp. but have been a user since 1991 and a Palm user since 1999.
