Wiring Vehicle Loop Detector into a Cisco Gateway

Does any one know how a vehicle loop detector can be integrated into a Cisco gateway device? Specifically we have an HID R90 I class, a request to exit loop detector and 1 Vehicle gate already in place. How can this be wired and integrated into a Cisco Gateway?

Your loop detector should probably be directly wired to the gate operator and bypass the Cisco gateway.  You should receive annunciation from a limit switch on the gate operator to an input on the Cisco gateway to know what state the gate is in.

  • Collect cdr from cisco gateway AS5300 into a database in realtime

    Hello !!
    somebody knows how can i collect cdr from cisco gateway AS5300 into a database in realtime?
    Regards

    You can use gw-accounting as explained below:
    gw-accounting
    To enable an accounting method for collecting call detail  records (CDRs), use the gw-accounting command in global  configuration mode. To disable an accounting method, use the no form of this command.
    gw-accounting {aaa | file | syslog [stats] }
    no gw-accounting {aaa | file | syslog [stats] }
    gw-accounting {h323 [vsa] | syslog | voip}
    no gw-accounting {h323 [vsa] | syslog | voip}
    Syntax Description
    aaa
    Enables accounting through the AAA system and sends call  detail records to the RADIUS server in the form of vendor-specific attributes  (VSAs).
    file
    Enables the file accounting method to store call detail  records in .csv format.
    syslog
    Enables the system logging facility to output accounting  information in the form of a system log message.
    stats
    (Optional) Enables voice quality statistics to be sent to the  system log.
    h323
    Enables standard H.323 accounting using Internet Engineering  Task Force (IETF) RADIUS attributes.
    vsa
    (Optional) Enables H.323 accounting using RADIUS VSAs.
    voip
    Enables generic gateway-specific accounting.
    You can find more info in cisco IOS voice command reference guide.
    This is an example to collect CDR of H.323 calls via RADIUS:
    gw-accounting syslog
    gw-accounting aaa
    attribute acct-session-id overloaded
    attribute h323-remote-id resolved
    acct-template callhistory-detail

    When our phone system was installed over a year ago the tech that was onsite used a command when after he would telnet into our voce gateway that would display informatin about every call that was going through the system.
    For the life of me I can not recall the command that he used.
    It was like a debugging tool that everytime a call was placed information about the call, source, destination, protocolots, off hook, on hook, etc...

    Tommer,
    I found the issue that caused problem.
    One of the Unity Admins (hand slapped)  used RDP in Console mode which redirected the custom wave driver. This is a known issue with using RDP in Console mode in Windows 2003. There is a MS Hotfix 928046 that should have prevented this from happenning, but it was alraedy installed. A Server reboot cleared the condition and its all working again.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Bonjour not working with new Cisco Gateway from Shaw

    I have a PC running Windows 7 (64 bit version) and a 2nd gen iPad.  On the PC, I have AirPrint for Windows, Shairport4w, Calibre (for e-books) and AirVideo Server installed.  These used to allow me to print from my iPad to the Samsung ML-1670 connected to my PC, stream videos from my PC to my iPad, play my iPad's music through my PC's speakers (and vice versa through itunes homesharing) and download my PC-hosted e-books to my iPad's Stanza app wirelessly. It was a like a little Bonjour paradise in my house.
    Then I upgraded to Shaw's new Broadband 50 internet and accordingly swapped my old SMC gateway for their new Docsis 3-capable Cisco DPC 3825.  As soon as my new gateway was installed, all Bonjour-dependent apps ceased to function properly.  I can no longer find any of my PC stuff from my iPad.  Even my PC's shared iTunes library doesn't show up in my iPad's iPod app anymore.  I've disabled all firewalls (even though firewalls should not be causing this issue), restarted PC, iPad and gateway many times, restarted the Bonjour and Airprint services alone, reinstalled Bonjour from the Apple support site, set my PC as the DMZ host in the gateway, disabled WiFi protected mode in the gateway and set the wireless to use G only, and etc, and etc.  Never do I see a change.  Cisco, Shaw and Apple tech support have all referred me to each other. I am about to give up and get my own wireless router to use instead of the free one Shaw's provided, but thought I'd check here first in case some one else had found a good solution.
    A couple of additional clues: my (wired) PS3 can see the DLNA-dependent PS3 media server on my PC fine with the new gateway, and other forums do mention similar issues with a different Linksys router.  The solution there was to enable multicast filtering in the router.  I have not been able to find this option in the Cisco's settings, but perhaps it's called something else?

    Same issue here.  It looks like another case of half-baked Linksys firmware (It may say Cisco, but it's the spitting image of the Linksys firmware).
    Apparently with some work you can get shaw support to convert the modem/router into "bridge mode" which will make it act like a regular modem.  In any case though, these "hybrids" aren't as reliable as a separate modem and router.
    Just got it today and it looks like for all of the high end features (Gigabite ethernet, wireless N) the router is still antennae-less and running shoddy Linksys firmware with bugs.  Apparently end-users are also not supposed to attempt to update the firmware (which I would have to agree with).
    At the end of the day, we're going back to a DGL-4500 which worked without a problem.

  • Need to increase performance-bulk collect in cursor with limit and in the for loop inserting into the trigger table

    Hi all,
    I have a performance issue in the below code,where i am trying to insert the data from table_stg into target_tab and in parent_tab tables and then to child tables via cursor with bulk collect .the target_tab and parent_tab are huge tables and have a row wise trigger enabled on it .the trigger is mandatory . This timetaken for this block to execute is 5000 seconds.Now my requirement is to reduce it to 5 to 10 mins.
    can someone please guide me here.Its bit urgent .Awaiting for your response.

    Its bit urgent
    NO - it is NOT urgent. Not to us.
    If you have an urgent problem you need to hire a consultant.
    I have a performance issue in the below code,
    Maybe you do and maybe you don't. How are we to really know? You haven't posted ANYTHING indicating that a performance issue exists. Please read the FAQ for how to post a tuning request and the info you need to provide. First and foremost you have to post SOMETHING that actually shows that a performance issue exists. Troubleshooting requires FACTS not just a subjective opinion.
    where i am trying to insert the data from table_stg into target_tab and in parent_tab tables and then to child tables via cursor with bulk collect .the target_tab and parent_tab are huge tables and have a row wise trigger enabled on it .the trigger is mandatory . This timetaken for this block to execute is 5000 seconds.Now my requirement is to reduce it to 5 to 10 mins.
    Personally I think 5000 seconds (about 1 hr 20 minutes) is very fast for processing 800 trillion rows of data into parent and child tables. Why do you think that is slow?
    Your code has several major flaws that need to be corrected before you can even determine what, if anything, needs to be tuned.
    This code has the EXIT statement at the beginning of the loop instead of at the end
        FETCH stg_cursor BULK COLLECT INTO v_rt_all_cols LIMIT limit_in;
                  vstep_no  := '4';
                  vtable_nm := 'after fetch';
    --EXIT WHEN v_rt_all_cols.COUNT = 0;
        EXIT WHEN stg_cursor%NOTFOUND;
    The correct place for the %NOTFOUND test when using BULK COLLECT is at the END of the loop; that is, the last statement in the loop.
    You can use a COUNT test at the start of the loop but ironically you have commented it out and have now done it wrong. Either move the NOTFOUND test to the end of the loop or remove it and uncomment the COUNT test.
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
      ROLLBACK;
    That basically says you don't even care what problem occurs or whether the problem is for a single record of your 10,000 in the collection. You pretty much just throw away any stack trace and substitute your own message.
    Your code also has NO exception handling for any of the individual steps or blocks of code.
    The code you posted also begs the question of why you are using NAME=VALUE pairs for child data rows? Why aren't you using a standard relational table for this data?
    As others have noted you are using slow-by-slow (row by row processing). Let's assume that PL/SQL, the bulk collect and row-by-row is actually necessary.
    Then you should be constructing the parent and child records into collections and then inserting them in BULK using FORALL.
    1. Create a collection for the new parent rows
    2. Create a collection for the new child rows
    3. For each set of LIMIT source row data
      a. empty the parent and child collections
      b. populate those collections with new parent/child data
      c. bulk insert the parent collection into the parent table
      d. bulk insert the child collection into the child table
    And unless you really want to either load EVERYTHING or abandon everything you should use bulk exception handling so that the clean data gets processed and only the dirty data gets rejected.

  • Cisco Gateway constantly disconnecting, logs aren't helpful

    This has been going on for weeks, already talked to support who walked me through the usual power cycling, the morning the tech came out there was no problem, he found nothing wrong, I asked him to not swap it out, then later problems started happening again. The logs are almost useless, including anything in the gateway's interface; nobody's ever told me that they're helpful either. Are there any extraneous diagnostic tools I can use with the DPC3941T gateway? The techs literally have replaced the modems about every 6 months even if they're mine or theirs. This is all there is in logs: [Docsis][552]: Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out[Docsis][552]: No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out[Dhcpc][1571]: erouter0 got new IP ### EDIT: The main point of this post is to get advice on getting more information than what is available, because Comcast and their techs were telling me absolutely nothing was wrong with anything and they were just going to swap my modem, so they didn't think it was an RF issue, just a bad modem. The problem here is that I'm not seeing how to get more particular info on what the problem is.

    Suit myself? Are you understanding that there's nothing indicating it's an RF issue? Modem internet disconnection logs don't indicate RF issues, and just to put a nail in that coffin, I've never had any trouble connecting to any of the other devices on the network or transfering files. The problem has always been losing internet, even on wired devices (of which I have two). How does losing internet over a wired device indicate an RF issue? I started having problems again even with the old modem (which had a ton of T3/T4 issues), and the Comcast tech was going to come out today but they called me and said they fixed a line issue and there was nothing wrong with any of my stuff. So sorry it's not an RF issue like you think, but this has nothing to do with "suiting myself" because I don't care what the problem is, I just want it fixed. So suit yourself in thinking it's still an RF issue.

  • Cisco Gateway Management Agent (CGMA)

    dear Net pro's
    I was looking for a software to check voip calls quality and i found CGMA
    it looks intersting to me but looks like this agent sends all statics and real-time information to a XML file and we should to connect to the Gateway and pull these information ,
    i searched alot but i couldnt find any software do that ( connect to a specific TCP port and pull out XML document from gateway )
    can any one help me on this
    more information here :

    You need to enable cgma-agent .
    interface from the CGMA is the Real Time Management Protocol (RTMP).

  • Best way to turn a looped region into one regular region.

    Hello,
    This is going to be a very easy question for someone to answer.
    When I record a small part (say just a 2 bar lick) I then pull the end corner to loop it.
    FANTASTIC.
    But I would rather view it on the main window as one solid region, rather than seeing the little ''bite marks'' that make it look like an accordion, or a bunch of regions pushed together. To me, that looks messy.
    I have yet to find a way to quickly turn it into one region. Would the best way really be to bounce in place, because merging or joining does not seem to work for loops.
    Again, I'm sure it is something I'm missing here that it quite simple.
    I'm still trying to get my logic legs and put my PT ones on hold for the time being.
    Cheers.

    Bounce in place.

  • Integrating AirPort Extremes into a Cisco Wireless Environment

    Greetings,
    We've recently moved into a new facility and have a Cisco 4400 Wireless LAN Controller with 1242 LWAPPs. We have a few Airport Extreme's from our old location and would like to try an incorporate them into this new wireless environment. I would think that the preferred solution would be for the AP Extremes to function as LWAPPs. Failing that, is there a way to integrate them in?
    Thanks.

    Frank810, Welcome to the discussion area!
    I have never heard of that term before but according to Wikipedia LWAPP is the name of a protocol that can control multiple Wi-Fi wireless access points at once.
    Unfortunately I doubt that it works with any of Apple's base stations. You must use AirPort Utility to control/administer Apple's base stations.

  • Impletmenting a gatekeeper into a all gateway network.

    I currently have 8 gateways. Three of them are connected to the PSTN the other 5 are at my offices. Each office gateway is setup with pots peers with the phone numbers at that office and a catchall voip peer using DNS lookups for routing. The PSTN gateways each have a catchall POTS and VOIP peer to send the call in or out depending on which peer the call came in on. The PSTN gateways also use DNS for routing. I want to start using ATA186's but they require a gatekeeper to use some of their features. The problem is that a gatekeeper pretty much makes my DNS routing useless since it looks like the gatekeepers can only take registrations from peers that use full E164 addresses. That isn't a problem from my office routers since all the POTS peers have full addresses however I can't figure out how to make the gatekeeper route anything thats not registered to it to one of my PSTN gateways. I need my DNS call routing since it picks the proper PSTN router based on call cost and other things. Which is the other problem. The gatekeeper has no way to do any cost control. It looks like you can tell it to route this prefix here, this prefix there. But typing in the entire countries area codes and prefixs doesn't seem like a good option.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    There are many gatekeeper enhancements that have been introduced lately.
    This one, i n particular, may be what you are looking for:

    You can always make a couple gatekeepers and use multiple zones (gatekeeper can be on the same box as gateway):

  • Design/positioning for HP blade chassis into a Cisco infrastructure

    We're involved in a DC infrastructure upgrade for a customer with several HP blade chassis, which all have Cisco 3020 switches.
    In trying to figure out the new Nexus 5K/2K (FEX) design to upgrade them to Gigabit server access, they're questioning what the right replacement is for these TOR 3020s.  Specifically:
    Do the B22 FEX modules replace the 3020’s one for one, or are they advanced and provide the 4 ethernet connections for each blade with just one module?
    Any advice or design ref/guidance for this question would be helpful, and thank you.

    Hi Eric,
    Rack mount or Blade servers from HP are both supported
    any HP server or IBM server is supported as long as:
    it is on the VMware HCL for the version of VMware vSphere ESXi required by UC.
    it carries a CPU model supported by UC (described later in this policy).
    it satisfies all other requirements of this policy
    Otherwise, any HP/IBM model, generation, form factor (rack, blade) may be used.
    From your link as well.
    Cheers!

  • Wiring 'playback' Reaktor ensembles into GarageBand?

    Here's a question for anyone who is using Reaktor with GB.
    I am doing fine with creating R5 instruments in GarageBand based on the synthesizer ensembles... but whenever i try to wire in a sequenced synth or otherwise generative ensemble, I get output from the ensemble in the meter but cannot get it to capture the output sound. I thought of trying to use it as a Live Instrument, but that doesn't seem to record the output either.
    Does anyone know if this can be done, and if so, how?
    As an example, try using BlueMatrix, running in sequencer mode, its output being recorded either as waveform or (ideally) MIDI output to GB.
    I know this is a tricky one, so good luck & thanks! ^_^
    - Heath

    is it possible to enter this ensemble directly into
    the arrange window from the plugin.
    You can use Reaktor as and audio FX (Reaktor 5 FX), or as a Midi instrument (Reaktor 5). For example: If you have an audio track already recorded in the Logic's arrange window, you can add a Reaktor FX. Inserts>Mono>Audio Units>Native Instruments>Reaktor 5 FX. Now open a new ensemble and add an Effect (e.g., Space Master.ism, Pitch+Flanger.ism, etc...) Be sure to wire the audio in to the inputs of *.ism, and the outs to Audio outs.
    For Synths, Grooveboxes or other midi instruments, you'll need to use a Midi instrument in Logic. This sends Reaktor midi data and therefore will sends audio to Logic. Inserts>Stereo>AU Instruments>Native Instruments>Reaktor 5 Create an New Ensemble, then add an *.ism. Now when you record midi data in Logic's arrange window, it will be sent to that Reaktor instrument. If you are using an Ens with more than one Ism, it's better to use a Multi Channel instance of Reaktor.
    At the moment
    when I play the ensemble and press record everything
    is fine but no data is enetered in the arrange
    window
    Are you talking about audio or midi?
    good luck.

  • Wiring a pressure transmitter into a NI DAQPad-6015

    I need to wire a pressure transmitter (a two wire one) into a NI DAQPad-6015, and then use this pressure transmitter to record pressures in a pipeline.  How do I wire the transmitter into the data logger?  From there, how do I actually log the data?

    Hi Andrea,
    I looked at this Pressure Transmitter
    it seems to be a WIKA S-10, I’m not familiar with how a pressure transducer
    works but something that I can tell you from the spec sheet is that: seems that
    you can have different versions of the sensor 2 wire, 3 wire and current or
    voltage output, I would suggest connecting your sensor in a voltage mode since
    the other way you will have to add a shunt resistor.
    Most of the time those sensor have three wires, red, black
    and white, you will set your connection for differential where red goes to AI+,
    black to AI- and white to AI GND and taking into account that white is the
    ground. As long as you output does not exceed what we spec -/+ 10 volts, 6015
    Let me know if it helps
