    Hello, I have a T61 7664-17U.  I recently had to replace the hard drive on this system due to drive read errors.
    I have all of my system up to date and working, except the lan adapter.  I have the 82566MM Gigabit connection in the network connections but there is no communication when i connect the rj45 cable.  I would like to get this working as my office does not
    have a wireless connection and i need to use the system there.  Could anyone please guide me to the correct driver and how to install it so i get things finished up and working.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    check BIOS / configuration and see if INTERNAL LAN is enbaled or disabled. i had this happen when my wireless and lan were not working. fixed it in bios.

  • Usb driver on the left side near the lan are not working

    The brightness keys are also not working and the usb drives on the left near the lan are not working.

    Hi:
    Did you reinstall the operating system?
    If so, you are probably missing the graphics and USB3 drivers.
    Graphics:
    File name: sp56458.exe
    USB3:  Download and install both of these drivers and reboot.

    If there is a device labeled SMBus Controller in the device manager, this driver should work for that device.

  • Satellite A110-228 LAN does not work after hibernate

    Well, subject says it all, really. The LAN (wired) network does not work after hibernate.
    It seems it cannot find the DHCP server, so after a while it gets a 169.* address.
    After a reboot, the network functions as usual (gets a IP address from the DHCP server)
    Tried the usual things, disconnecting the cable, disabling the LAN device, battery or AC adapter, the behavior is reproducible.
    The wireless network will be restored after a hibernate.
    It needs a little help though (right click on the icon and "recover" or whatever it is called in English)
    Any suggestions?

    Hi guys
    In the Toshiba HW setup which is placed in the control panel the options Wake-up on LAN and Built-in LAN should be enabled.
    I think the options are disabled by default.
    Furthermore the default setting for Wake on Settings is OS controlled. To use the Wake-up on LAN function under power off mode, in the device driver for the network card under the menu point Wake On Settings the Value Wake on Magic & Directed must be set.
    Please check this how to enable WOL (first time use):
    1. Go to [Start] -> [Control Panel] -> [Toshiba HWSetup] -> [LAN] tab
    2. Enable Wake-up on LAN
    3. Click [Apply]. System will request to reboot.
    4. After the reboot go to [Start] -> [Control Panel] -> select [System]
    5. On system properties dialog box select [Hardware] tab -> click [Device manager]
    6. On Device manager dialog box select [Networking adapters] -> double click [Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection]
    7. Go to [Advanced] tab -> select [Wake On Settings] property -> Select [Wake on Magic & Directed]
    8. Press [OK] to close the dialog box.

  • Onboard Broadcom LAN does not work: code 10 [Master3]

    Hi,
    OK, I finally get my K8N Master3 working - Opteron 240, Win XP SP2. But I can't get the onboard LAN to work.
    When I turn on the PC I get this in the device manager: http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom1.jpg
    and the error message is "device cannot start, code 10" : http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom6.jpg
    I can disable the devices then re-enable them and this makes it look like it's all OK: http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom2.jpg
    However, although packets are being sent and the network status shows packets being sent and received. I can't ping any computer on the network! I have tried using just 1 PC via a cross over cable (without the extra LAN cards listed in the device manager). But although it looks like it should all work, nothing gets sent.
    This is the driver I'm using: http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom3.jpg
    Initially, there is no MAC address for the ports. Windows just shows 0's in the connection status support tab.
    http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom4.jpg
    So I assigned a value for the MAC address based on an existing Broadcom network card: http://www.AdrianJudd.com/~AdrianX/photos/MSI/broadcom/broadcom5.jpg
    BTW. when I reboot,  the broadcom controller is again listed as not working in the device manager.
    Anyone with any ideas?
    Adrian
    p.s. if you can't see the links, the my WWW might just be down, it hangs every now and then :-(

    OK, I've taken it out of the case and plugged one of the LAN ports into a laptop. The laptop is constantly pinging it and the server is pinging the laptop. Unfortunately it's the same as before. The broadcom controller(s) are not working when XP boots, giving a code 10. It is possible to disable them and enable them. This makes it look like they might work. Packets are received, nearly. The lights on the ports light up and the speed is automatically detected and set.

    When I put the system back together again I placed the other LAN cards in different PCI/PCI-X slots. This caused the Intel card to give a code 10. When I swapped it back it was OK. Unfortunately, I can't swap the Broadcom controller around as it's on the MB. I also tried the SCSI card in different PCI/PCI-X slots. Finally, I now get a code 10 from my LSI MegaRAID card. So I'll have to re-install XP
    There's not much I can do really. The screen shots above are the most basic setup I can have, ie. SCSI card and 1 SCSI drive (in the SCSI enclosure at the back). I've never seen a code 10 error before, and after taking the m/b out and putting it back in again, I ended up with 4 at once! I was thinking about maybe trying Win XP 64 bit.

    Hi
    My WiFi is not working on my new computer Lenovo U350. I have pressed FN+F5, but it says I have to turn on the switch. Where is this switch??
    I've tried to reinstall the network drivers as well...

    Look on the left side of the laptop, in front of the USB port. There is a slide switch there.

    Firefox stores site favicons to display next to the corresponding bookmark. If those have disappeared ''completely'', it might indicate a problem with your bookmarks list. If some of the site favicons still show, it could be this: for bookmarks without favicons, Firefox recently changed from showing a "blank page" icon to showing the dotted rectangle icon.

  • Wireless LAN does not work after restart

    Hey
    My brand new laptop suddenly went blank earlier today and when I restarted it I noticed my wireless internet won't work. It is also asking me to install some new driver, the Network Controller? I am confused as everything was working fine and suddenly it's not. Anyone any ideas? :-/

    Hi,
    maybe you should try to install the driver for your wireless lan card. I mean, if some application damaged the driver or installed something which interferes with the wireless lan card then you should try to fix it with an reinstallation of the driver.
    Heres a [LINK|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] to the drivers download page from Toshiba. Pick your model and your operating system and download the driver which fits for your wireless lan card.

  • Prime DCNM 6.1(2) - LAN client not working

    Hello Everyone,
    I've recently installed a Prime DCNM 6.1(2) to a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit version. It seems to be working fine, apart from the DCNM-LAN client.
    If I login with the Java client, I got the GUI, however it remains blank - I can see the menu, but no data at all. It seems it cannot cummunicate with the DCNM server. DCNM-SAN client, the WEB client and the Device manager works fine, but I just cannot make this work.
    Tested it from Win2k3 SP2, Windows 7, and the server itself, with Java 1.6.31, 1.6.37, 1.7.13.
    Tried to install DCNM on our LAB as well, but I've experienced the same.
    Any hints appreciated!
    Kind regards,
    Gabor

    Hi All,
          I also have  met this issue! However, I want to know whether the deep discovery must need SNMPV3 or not. My client just gave me the N7K username and password, I used the information to discovery the N7K successfully and the dcnm-lan client still can't display anything.
         DCNM version is 6.1(2) and window platform is win 2008 R2 standard 64 bit
        Thx in advance!
         After setting the SNMPv3, we still find nothing in the dcnm-lan client as given below:

  • LAN ports not working but wireless is fine

    Just purchased AE to use with my Zoom comcast modem (no router function on the modem).  The wireless function is working flawlessly but I am not able to get IP addresses to hardware attached to the AE via the LAN ports.  I've cycled and reset until I'm blue in the face!  Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

    There are no settings to check. The Ethernet ports are enabled by default when the AirPort is operating correctly.
    As a last resort, you could reset the AirPort back to default settings and then set it up again if you have the time.  Hold in the reset button on the back of the AirPort for 8-10 seconds and release, than allow a full minute for the AirPort to restart.  Then, set it up again and check the Ethernet ports.
    I assume that you have checked to make sure that you have a good Ethernet cable.

  • Using UDP broadcast instead of UDP multicast on a LAN (multicast not working on a major UK ISP router)

    I've built an Android app using Cirrus  that allows users on a LAN to chat in Morse code! - You can find it on the Android Market by searching for 'Morse Intercom'.
    It works fine on my network, lots of other networks, but not on probably the most popular fast broadband fibre network in the UK
    A friend of mine has let me piggyback on her network from this provider, and the problem appears to be that the UDP multicast packets RTMFP transmits just aren't being put on the wireless network. FYI the multicast address I use is IP 225.226.227.1 port 32112 .
    This is probably fixable in the router, but 99.5% of users will never mess around with the router (and why should they), and if possible I would like to fix this in RTMFP.
    Is it possible for me to ask RTMFP to not use UDP multicast, but instead to use UDB broadcast for discovering peers on the LAN ? The problematical router (and all others?) supports UDP broadcasting.
    I tried setting 'groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = false;' but this just stopped the app working on anything! What is the purpose of this option?
    FYI:
    To connect without using Cirrus server assistance I use: nc.connect("rtmfp:");
    The complete function I use for setting up multicasting is:
    private function setupGroup():void
    // Create a new Group Specifier object
    //trace("setUpGroup: groupSpec = new GroupSpecifier('myGroup/groupA')");
    trace("setUpGroup: groupSpec = new GroupSpecifier('" + MY_UNIQUE_GROUP_NAME + "')");
    var groupspec:GroupSpecifier = new GroupSpecifier(MY_UNIQUE_GROUP_NAME);
    // Enable posting
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.postingEnabled = true");
    groupspec.postingEnabled = true;
    // Specifies whether information about group membership can be exchanged on IP multicast sockets
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = true");
    groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = true;
    // Causes the associated NetStream or NetGroup to join the specified IP multicast group and listen to the specified UDP port.
    //trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress('225.225.0.1:30000')");
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress('" + MY_MULTICAST_ADDRESS + "')");
    groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress(MY_MULTICAST_ADDRESS);
    // Constructs a NetGroup on the specified NetConnection object and joins it to the group specified by groupspec.
    trace("setUpGroup: group = new NetGroup(nc,groupspec.groupspecWithAuthorizations())");
    group = new NetGroup(nc,groupspec.groupspecWithAuthorizations());
    // Set the NET_STATUS event listener
    trace("setUpGroup: group.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,netStatus)");
    group.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,netStatus);
    In conclusion - On a LAN with up to 250 or so hosts, I can't see why RTMFP shouldn't be able to use UDP broadcasting as an alternative to UDP Multicasting. Can it, and if so how?
    Graham

    Here's more information...
    When trying to connect with a 3rd party product, the connection request is sent out to my ISP's DNS server with details of the service ID. Of course it won't find anything there.
    So then is tries to use NBNS (Netbios Naming Service) on 192.168.1.255, and still can't connect. Then comes back with a TNS error. i tried TNSPING on this address, and it doesn't find it. I have no clue where it gets this address from.
    WHY WON'T IT JUST CONNECT TO THE HOST MACHINE AS DEFINED IN THE TNSNAMES FILE???
    PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • K8n neo3 lan issue - not working

    this spiffy new motherboard has been working very well for me, except for the lan - it doesn't do anything.
    i upgraded to a k8n neo3 + sempron 2800+, from a k7 1700+.  i'm using the same case and power supply, and my watt-meter shows the new setup uses 20 watts less power, so i know it's not a psu issue.  i'm running w2k with sp4 slipstreamed in.
    anyway, whether i use the msi-supplied network drivers or ones fresh from nvidia.com, i can't get an address supplied to me via dhcp from my router, and if i statically assign an address (10.0.0.3) the same way i did with the previous k7 setup, i can ping myself (10.0.0.3) but can't ping the router or modem (10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.1 respectively).
    i've tried swapping cables (even though the setup worked fine with my old cpu/motherboard 2 days ago), forcing the network adapter into different speed modes (full auto, 100 full-duplex, 10 full-duplex), but i can't contact anything via this lan port.  when i do "ipconfig /renew" i can see flashing lights on the router indicating some traffic, however nothing happens on my win2k system.
    i'm not sure what else i can do.  any ideas?  just to restate, the router/k7/win2k system worked perfectly 2 days ago.  i put the k8/neo3 system in, did a fresh win2k install, put on the 71.89 drivers for the geforce 6200, then proceeded directly to trying to get the network up and failing miserably.  no other software is installed, nothing else has been configured, and no system has ever put up this much of a fight before to stay off a network.
    i'd really hate to have to go back to the k7 over this, the new box overclocks excellently from 1600 mhz stock to 2350 prime95-stable and the 6200 unlocks to a full 8-pipelines with 532/685 speeds - it's at least 5 times smoother at gaming than the k7 with a gf4mx, but without net access it's useless to me.  thanks for any ideas.

    Before you jump to conclusions and make judgements, perhaps you might consider that there may be a configuration issue, perhaps just a faulty board. It doesn't mean they are all like that just because it doesn't work for you.
    I don't mean to be rude, but I suggest you get all your facts before jumping to conclusions or making threats about posting negative remarks else where. You only serve to alienate those that may want to help.
    What is the IP range settings in the DHCP of the router currently? (Try leaving at defaults, reset the router if you have to)
    What, if any changes did you make in the TCP/IP settings of the onboard LAN adapter? (you shouldn't have to make any)
    Obtain an IP Address Automatically
    Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically
    Make sure there are no gateway addresses, you can put that in later if you like.
    And then what do you have selected: Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings? (Should be nothing selected)
    Also, Control Panel>Add Remove Programs>Add Remove Windows Components>Networking Services> Make sure all are unselected, primarily the Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client. Sorry, that's for XP
    Restart the computer if necessary.
    Get to a command prompt, type "cmd" from the "Run..." on your Start menu
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    Good luck...

  • OS X Restore with Time Machine via LAN does not work

    Hi all,
    i did a full backup of my mac mini with mountain lion on a time capsule via LAN. Tried to do a full restore on a new hard disk and connect to the time capsule after i booted into a restore environment. I was able to choose the time capsule as the restore source and connected using my dedicated backup user, which was also used to create the backup before. But after i cannot chose my just created backup!
    Using a local USB disk with time machine everythings workes fine. But the main reason why i chosed time capsule is, that i can make my backups of all the used mac books and minis  via LAN / WLAN...
    So, is there anybody else experiancing this Problem?

    Hi,
    tested OS X Restore with Time Machine via QNAP NAS Box - working without any problem. So with the Time Capsule it might be firmware problem?!

    No, you can't turn the nic off!! How are you going to wake it when it's turned off?
    Unfortunately if "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked,
    then "Allow this device to wake the computer" will be greyed out.
    I have another PC that WOL works (DELL) and it has all 3 mentioned checked!!!!!
    I dont think "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" means turn off the NIC!!! I think it means enable power management. Maybe a real expert can chime in here.
    Hmm....what do I do next????
