Some Bugs and Enhancement Suggestions for Offline DB models
I really like the way that this area of JDeveloper is shaping up, but I have a couple of bugs and few suggestions for enhancements.
Bugs,
1) when adding an index to a table, you can't edit the index name. If the generated name is too long, it doesn't allow you to create the index.
2) When adding columns to an index, there is no LOV of columns so you have to manually type each one. It always defaults to the ?first column of the primary key? which seems odd.
A few enhancement suggestions:
1) on tables and columns it would be very helpful to be able to also have a logical name as well as a physical name
2) if we have a logical name, it would be then very helpful to be able to set the display properties to show the logical vs. physical table and column names
3) Tablespace objects. I would be okay if they were just the logical object (not necessarily generate DDL to create them). If I could use them as part of the table and index definitions.
4) Table partitioning.
5) Packages on a DB Diagram. Just for the documentation purpose of visually displaying all objects in an application.
6) Ability to create views based on synonyms. Currently, it only allows to pick a table or view.
Just a few items that I have encountered trying to design a full application in JDeveloper.
Thanks,
GaryGary,
thanks. I filed the enhancement request and bug based on your description

Sensible suggestions for ipod touch firmware
Not sure where to post but please note my suggestions for development of ipod touch firmware/native apps as follows:
1: on-the-go playlists. Please add the VERTCAL ALPHABETIC MENU when scrolling for tracks to add to the on-the-go playlist.
2: Mail, Notes & Contact apps should be available in LANDSCAPE mode as touch keyboard is by definition larger and more manageable.

DW CS3 Training wish list - need suggestions
My company has asked if I'd like any online/book training for
the new version of Dreamweaver CS3.
What have you found to be the most concise and worthwhile?
Any suggestions for instructor led or conferences that you
felt were "a must"?

Unfortunately you've missed TODCON. There will be another
next summer.
In the meantime, I've read lots of good feedback from
http://www.Lynda.com
I've done a couple of the free tutorials just to see what
they were like and
found them very clear and helpful. The price seems reasonable
to me. The
big question would be where you are in your training needs
and whether
the training you need is addressed in their library.
Another very good learning experience (assuming you do well
on your own)
is
http://www.communityMX.com
They have articles and tutorials on each
of the CS3 products and add new ones each week.
Lastly, I've found that I learn a lot about DW from
http://projectseven.com
products, merely pulling them apart, reading the instruction
manuals that
come
with their products, etc. Particularly good for learning CSS -
Wish List: Explicit Support for Quoted Identifiers!
Hi,
I know TopLink supports quoted identifiers as long as you manually type them into the mapping workbench or the project file.
This is, however, not a very nice solution from a usability point of view. I'd better like TopLink having an option in the mapping workbench on the project level along the lines of "quote all identifiers" which will automatically put the quotes in when meta data is read from the DB and the project file is generated.
At the moment, I have a self-written XSL stylesheet that puts the quotes in the XML file AFTER the project is generated from the workbench. If anyone is interested, I will make it available, but there's no guarantee that it will work with your projects - its just a "worksforme"-tested thing. In the end, it doesn't matter to much to me if a
quoted identifier feature is implemented in the
runtime or in the workbench, while an implementation
in the workbench might be more flexible, as there
could be options on different levels of a project to
activate or deactivate identifier quoting, for
example, there could be a project level option, a
descriptor level option, or even an attribute-level
option. The runtime already seems to handle it
cleanly if you give it the identifiers in the quoted
form in the project.xml, even though the
"attribute-->direct"-Notation is a bit tricky...Thanks for the details! I'll add this to the enhancement request list.

Enhancement suggestion for Apple
Love my iPad - not one complaint.
It would be really cool if we could name our home pages with logical names - in iTunes where we move our apps around to be on specific pages, they have a number. A name would be cool.
I'd be happy if the names appeared on the iPad screen via an option box in a menu so not everyone has to see or use the home screen name option.Click here and fill out the form.

How do I pay for items on my wish list?
I have created a wish list and want to purchase the songs and download them to a cd. How do I do that?
You can buy the songs individually by clicking on their prices (not the downward pointing arrow next to the price) - there used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes
-
Can we have something like what's on the Archos Forum (NOT Oxford educated you know) where users can submit a wish list and specs for apps ?
This way apps writers could address specific wants, rather than write an app then find a market for it
Admittedly, posters would be giving their ideas for nothing, but then again if they were able to write their own app they wouldn't subscribe to this wish list anyway.
Perhaps this wish list could be subdivided into catagories as per the Apps store.
To start the ball rolling, how about an app that allows the iPhone/iPod Touch to function as a USB stick, as per my Nano. I know there are apps/pc programmes that allow some functionality, but just to be able to use my iphone 3GS as a simple USB stick, like my Nano, would be a boon (1st Boon of the night ?)Hi jvth03,

HT1368 How do I see the monetary value of my entire wish list?
I am brand new to this, so please be kind. I am leaning heavily toward purchasing my entire wish list. At one point I could see clearly exactly how much all of my current wish list cost, but for some reason I am fumbling around trying to find it.
Also, I'd like to purchase all of my wish list songs in one fell swoop - not buy 25 songs for one transaction, then another 25 and so on.
Any advice is appreciated - thanks!Hello ed2345,
Thank you for your reply. Will I be taxed on each song that I buy? That would add up quickly!!
That's too bad that some of the functionality has been removed. I also noticed the other day that some songs that I added to my wish list were gone, I checked for the artist again and none of the studio recorded albums were available - only the live versions. Then today I decided to search for the artist again, all of the albums were back (both studio and live), so I re-added the songs to my wish list.
What's up with that?
I asked my husband about it, he said that Apple may have lost the rights to that particular batch of studio recorded albums. He also said that we are buying only leased music, so when we sync our iPods there is potential to lose music we have already paid for. Is this true?
Thanks again for your response! I appreicate your help and anyone else that decides to chime in. -
i am trying to purchase many songs at one time. i have added all songs to wish list , now to purchase it will only let me do one at a time please advise how i can purchase more than one at a time
There used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes so you will need to buy each item individually. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be added back in a future update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

I have a balancer on an ITunes Gift Card But can't seem to make purchases with this balance. I saved 4 items to my wish list but when attempting to purchase/buy I am not given the option. All I see is Gift This Song, Tell a Friend, Share on Twitter, Share on Facebook abd Copy Link. Last made a purchase in June 2013 without any issues. How do I buy music using the unused balance on my gift card? What has changed?
You need to click on the price, not the downward pointing arrow next to them, that should allow you to buy them - the 'buy all' button that used to be on the wish list screen has, for some reason, been removed from the current version of iTunes, so you can only buy items individually

purchase list can only purchase 1 song at a time, or the complete list would like to leave some in the wish list for later time
Hi spajer,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You should be able to purchase the song on your wish list by clicking on the price to the left of the drop-down menu arrow. EG.

Flex Callouts - Usability enhancement suggestions
Usability enhancement suggestions for flex callouts widget
FIG demo. (The FIG forum seems to be locked, making it difficult to
add feedback there.)
Currently, clicking on callout expands to first level and
displays expando affordance on right. Suggest that it appear next
to the airplane (i.e. under the mouse), so the user is encouraged
to simply click a second time to see the second level expansion,
rather than scootch over to right every time. "But they don't need
to do that." Yes, exactly.
The close action when window is fully expanded can be handled
by orienting callout with the arrow pointing to upper left, and
balloon at lower right, so that the same "click in place" trick can
be employed.
callouts/tooltips appearing to lower right of mouse.
This would then clearly convey that user can
click-click-click to cycle through the three states. So it's click
once to expand to show heading. Expando glyph appears under/near
mouse position attached to airplane. Click again to have the
heading expand *downward*, with a close "X" replacing the expando
glyph. Click again to close/return to initial state.John coveney wrote:

I cannot pull up my wish list.
I have clicked on it numerous times & nothing happens. I can click on anything else & it works correctly. I have several songs I've been wanting to purchase for weeks now, but can't. Please help...
