Wish List: Explicit Support for Quoted Identifiers!

Hi,
I know TopLink supports quoted identifiers as long as you manually type them into the mapping workbench or the project file.
This is, however, not a very nice solution from a usability point of view. I'd better like TopLink having an option in the mapping workbench on the project level along the lines of "quote all identifiers" which will automatically put the quotes in when meta data is read from the DB and the project file is generated.
At the moment, I have a self-written XSL stylesheet that puts the quotes in the XML file AFTER the project is generated from the workbench. If anyone is interested, I will make it available, but there's no guarantee that it will work with your projects - its just a "worksforme"-tested thing.

In the end, it doesn't matter to much to me if a
quoted identifier feature is implemented in the
runtime or in the workbench, while an implementation
in the workbench might be more flexible, as there
could be options on different levels of a project to
activate or deactivate identifier quoting, for
example, there could be a project level option, a
descriptor level option, or even an attribute-level
option. The runtime already seems to handle it
cleanly if you give it the identifiers in the quoted
form in the project.xml, even though the
"attribute-->direct"-Notation is a bit tricky...Thanks for the details! I'll add this to the enhancement request list.

  • Wish list posts - support and recommendations

I think TongucY has the right idea with the Wish List posts. If you think a feature is needed, this is one of the few easy ways to let Oracle know. 'Vote' for a feature, capabiltiy, or improvement if you think it is needed in XE.
I have a few recommendations when making a wish list post:
    1) Don't bother asking for features that are only in Enterprise Edition. (You can reference the Licensing document to determine which are only in Enterprise Edition here
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/license.111/b28287/toc.htm)
    2) Explain how/why moving the feature is a benefit to 'us'.
    3) Moving a feature into XE potentially loses Oracle money by reducing sales of the 'for fee' product. As a company legally responsible to it's shareholders, they need to know how giving something away is going to benefit the company. Try to explain how this will help them.

For example SQL Server 2005 Express Edition compared to Oracle 10g XE have similar limitations like -
    - 1 CPU
    - 1 GB RAM
    - 4 GB user data etc.
There is one difference, SQL Server Express Edition one can create up to 16 instances on a single box - http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345154.aspx
So maybe another strategy can be preparing similar wishlists to the rivalry, I feel this one difference may not be in our wishlist but maybe it is at the top of the list already :)

  • How do I pay for items on my wish list?

I have created a wish list and want to purchase the songs and download them to a cd.  How do I do that?

You can buy the songs individually by clicking on their prices (not the downward pointing arrow next to the price) - there used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes

  • Apps Wish List

Can we have something like what's on the Archos Forum (NOT Oxford educated you know) where users can submit a wish list and specs for apps ?
This way apps writers could address specific wants, rather than write an app then find a market for it
Admittedly, posters would be giving their ideas for nothing, but then again if they were able to write their own app they wouldn't subscribe to this wish list anyway.
Perhaps this wish list could be subdivided into catagories as per the Apps store.
To start the ball rolling, how about an app that allows the iPhone/iPod Touch to function as a USB stick, as per my Nano. I know there are apps/pc programmes that allow some functionality, but just to be able to use my iphone 3GS as a simple USB stick, like my Nano, would be a boon (1st Boon of the night ?)

  • How do I find my wish list?

I had a long list of chosen songs in my Wish List. While I was listening to the songs I was choosing, I created a folder to place them in - in my iTunes for my iPod Touch. Then, I could not get back to the page or my wish list.
How can I find it? I hope I can...
    Thank you.

i am trying to purchase many songs at one time. i have added all songs to wish list , now to purchase it will only let me  do one at a time  please advise how i can purchase more than one at a time

There used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes so you will need to buy each item individually. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be added back in a future update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • HT5035 Itunes gift card balance can't be redeemed. Amt shows in Itunes store, 4 items in my wish list.  But no options to buy/purchase them. Only options: "Gift, tell friend, share or copy link"   How do I buy from wishlist using unused balance?

I have a balancer on an ITunes Gift Card But can't seem to make purchases with this balance.  I saved 4 items to my wish list but when attempting to purchase/buy I am not given the option.   All I see is Gift This Song, Tell a Friend, Share on Twitter, Share on Facebook abd Copy Link.     Last made a purchase in June 2013 without any issues.   How do I buy music using the unused balance on my gift card?    What has changed?

You need to click on the price, not the downward pointing arrow next to them, that should allow you to buy them - the 'buy all' button that used to be on the wish list screen has, for some reason, been removed from the current version of iTunes, so you can only buy items individually

  • OWB Support for Change Data Capture

    Hi All,
Has anyone got OWB working with the Change Data Capture feature in the Oracle 9i database? I understand that CDC works by publishing changes through an advanced queue, which in theory OWB 9.0.4 upwards can have as a data source, but there doesn't appear to be any explicit support within the GUI for capturing CDC changes.
I'm also working on the assumption that we're talking about Synchronous CDC as found in 9i. 10g comes with Asynchronous CDC which I guess presents a different interface to the receiving program.
So - is there any support for 9i Change Data Capture in OWB, and has anyone got this to work in practice?
    thanks
    Mark

    Mark,
There is currently no explicit support for the 9i CDC. You can use Advanced Queues to propagate the changes, but you will have to custom-build the capture infrastructure on the source side (set up the CDC, enqueue the changes in the appropriate form into the AQ etc.)
OWB will explicitly support CDC (10g async, which is the least invasinve method) in our next major release currently scheduled to be release in November of this year.
    Regards:
    Igor
