Wish to completely hide Windows 7 Taskbar when Adobe Reader XI is maximized

I've created a shortcut to Adobex Reader XI with maximized checked.  However, when Adobe Reader XI is opened, while it IS maximized, there is still a thin slice of the Windows 7 task bar showing.  I want to COMPLETELLY hide the taskbar.

Maximizing an application window doesn't hide the Windows taskbar unless the application has a special 'full display' mode. Some Creative Suite apps do (e.g. Lightroom) but Acrobat and Adobe Reader don't.

    Hi,
You have to remove the back hand file which was present in the Local Disk C >> Program Data >> Acrobat, if you remove this file. It will remove the SSH (Software System History) from the PC. Then you can efficiently reinstall the Adobe Acrobat XI

  • Cant find print function windows 8 and adobe reader

I have windows 8 and adobe reader 9.5. how do i print?

I resolved my issue! The new app format with windows 8 takes time to master. The adobe reader does not have a friendly toolbar. No print function on the bottom tool bar when all other actions except printing are noted. I finally decided to check my main side tool bar and there was my printer seeing the adobe file and ready to print. So I resolved my issue but very much appreciate your reaching out to help me. Thank you!

With computer running Windows 7 using the curser can select an item, then right click and select copy.   With computer running Windows 8 there is a hand instead of a curser therefore unable to select an item, therefore unable to copy.  Is there a way to have a curser rather than the hand?
Eureka!!!   Just found by right clicking on the hand can then select “Select Tool” and then copy.  Hurray!!!

  • After recent windows 7 updating Adobe reader has stopped to run. Do you have solution?

After recent windows 7 updating Adobe reader has stopped to run. Do you know solution?

    Three things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

  • Missing scroll bar Windows 8.1 Adobe Reader XI?

How can I add the scroll bar in Windows 8.1 Adobe Reader XI?

Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat/Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Under Categories, select General.
In Basic Tools, choose the desired default setting from the Touch Mode menu. (You'll probably want to select "Never")

I turned off the anti virus but the same thing happened, I'm getting tired of downloading and then having to uninstall Adobe.  There must be an answer, something on the computer is not right.  I had problems with a CD drive my computer stopped reading it,   Replaced the CD burner and it still would not read, took it to be repaired and was a faulty registry which the guy at the shop fixed but the problem with adobe is only since I had the computer fixed last week or is this just a coincidence?

I have been having this message after closing pdfs. Yeah, I know it's stopped worked I shut it down. Brand new computer, latest adobex downloaded from website. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixes the problem. Whatever it was... I saw another post with a similar problem from over a year ago with no responses so this is just for info only.

I am not sure if any of these suggestions help; it cured many similar issues in 11.0.3...

If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script

  • Printing to a PDF when Adobe Reader disables "Save as PDF"

I have searched far and wide on the web and cannot figure this out.
I have an Adobe PDF. When I try to open it with Preview, I get the following message:
    Please wait...
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.
You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
For more assistance with Adobe Reader visit http://www.adobe.com/go/acrreader.
Windows is either a registered trademark or a trademark of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries. Mac is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the United States and other countries. Linux is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds in the U.S. and other countries.
From what I have read, Adobe has imbeded some commands into the PDFs created by certain software which only allows the PDFs to be opened by Adobe products (Reader, Acrobat, etc.). I can easily open it with Adobe Reader and fill the document in. However, it is a job application, and I would like to be able to email it back to somebody, but I wish to make it so that it is not editable.
Normally, this would be easy, simply use Preview's "Save as PDF" function. Unfortunately, "Save as PDF" does not work from Adobe Reader, I am not sure why although I am sure both Apple and Adobe will point fingers at the other when asked.
Thus, I am looking for a program that will effectively clone a printer, but print to a PDF instead of a actual printer. I have used PDFwriter in the past, and tried CUSP-PDF, but neither seems to work in Mountain Lion. I am running Mountain Lion 10.8.3 and the most current version of both of these  PDF print clone programs appears to be several years old, Snow Leopard era.
Any input on how I can convert the PDFs that are only openable in Adobe Reader to a non-editable format would be greatly appreciated. I can easily print them and then scan them back in, but the end result does not look professional and I would prefer to not have to do this.
    Thank you,
    Willis

I found another discussion that provided a solution:
CutePDF for Mac or other compatible software
    For instrucitons on use see:
    http://basics4mac.com/article.php/print_to_pdf#here
    Look for the program CUPS-PDF.
"cups pdf is like cute pdf but for mac
    https://bitbucket.org/codepoet/cups-pdf-for-mac-os-x/downloads
after installing you need to go to settings, printer, add printer
    full instructions here
    http://basics4mac.com/article.php/print_to_pdf
pdfs go in /Users/Shared/CPS-PDF/{your account name}"
Thanks to Bob Harris and geagon.
Be sure to allow all software to be downloaded.
You have to locate the file where the prints are saved.
However you can put an alias up to it on your desktop.

  • I can't complete any PDF downloads with Adobe Reader

I had Adobe Reader X with this problem then uninstalled X, then installed Adobe Reader XI and still I can't complete any PDF file downloads on Explorer with Windows 8 with out the explorer downloader document page crashing. Then some times when I have the option to "save to" the PDF doc to a download file I can open it from there. Most all existing PDF files open fine.

    UPDATE!!!!
I had to fix it my self!!!
No more than just one person (thanks) tried to help me out!
    I FIXED IT....
The problem was you could say a self conflict of Adobe reader. The software would not shut down any instances. It just would not quit, weather I had turned off my PC or otherwise. If I tried to run a instance of Adobe reader then failed, then tried again, the number of times I tried would still continue and would not stop when trying to "End Task" with the "Task Manager" in the "processes" section, then when I did succeeded inaddition to "Processes" was more in the "Details" section of "Task Manager" that would not stop!!
I down loaded "Acrobat Cleaner" and ran it immediately selecting Adobe Reader to be removed, after startup of my PC and it removed all installations.
I then proceeded to find all other "Adobe Reader" downloaded files and just dragged them to the Recycle bin.
That then gave me the chance to do a very clean install, and it worked with out faltering.
If you are having any major problems, do a clean out of Adobe Reader of all old versions and install the one that suits your computer.
Acrobat Reader now loads very fast, like I mean very fast!!

  • When Adobe Reader is updated past 10.1.8...Lexmark printers intermittently print gibberish (Wing Din

Security audit dictates we must update all our Windows patches and 'other' software in our incredibly stable and function environment.
Things go really well...only issues is updating Adobe reader past 10.1.8 causes .pdf documents from our intranet to print intermittently one line per page what looks like wing dings, for 50 pages.  Only sometimes.
Forcing to open in Application (rather than browser) seems to solve, but this causes our loans software not to populate documents.  Support with the loans software say they can't replicate in their environment, are not interested in helping.  We must go back to opening in web browser...wing ding print continues.
Microsoft environment LAN: Windows 7 32 bit on desktop, Lexmark T644 printers with 'latest' drivers

You bet...10.1.8 and any version newer seems to cause the issue. Any of the Adobe 11 series.  We were at 10.1.3 I believe and it all worked like a charm.
Oh yes...IE 9 in production but have been testing IE10.  Loans software does not populate forms when set to open in application in IE9 and IE10 :-(

  • Cannot load PDF in IE when Adobe Reader 9.3 is installed

    Hi,
I have been having a problem for the past couple months whereby when I have Adobe Reader 9.3 installed on my machine and try to open PDFs within IE, I receive an error message (after some time of waiting) saying "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again". I did not have this problem with version 8.2 (and as a result I had to resort back to this version). However, I would like to have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed and have it working!
After doing some diagnostics, I discovered that the problem seemed to only occur when I had Google Toolbar installed. If I uninstalled it completely (not just disabled it) the PDFs would display fine.
Is there anything I can try to make the three of these compatible (Adobe Reader 9.3, Internet Explorer and Google Toolbar)?
    Thanks,
    Chris

You can not save a form and data in Reader unless it has been activated with Reader Rights. That is an extra step. You do not need to save the form to submit the data. In Designer, the data is submitted in XML format. In Acrobat forms, the data would be submitted in FDF, XML, XFDF, or HTML format. XML and FDF can be imported to the form so you can see what the user saw when the form was submitted. If you activate Reader Rights, you may likely run into limits set in the license agreement. Read the EULA, section 15, before you go to far and find out you might be violating the license.
I assume your submission is by e-mail the way it sounds. Be aware that has many problems and is not a reliable method for form submission. If you are doing forms for a business, you would likely not want to activate the Reader Rights and would want to submit the data to a web script to avoid the e-mail issues -- otherwise you might tick off customers and run them off.
