This is probably a new precaution that Apple has taken to alert folks that something has occurred with their account that has not occurred before*, namely a Mac has downloaded something from their account that has not done so before. And as the notice says, if it was you doing so, then you may safely ignore the notice. Also, do not be alarmed, Apple refers to all downloads as purchases, even when they are free.
But if you are truly concerned about the notice then you can authorize the Mac with your iTunes account, which should be the same as your MAS account. Open iTunes on the older Mac and sign into your account. Then in the Store menu choose Authorize This Computer. Now this Mac is definitely associated with your account and can now play media that you purchase from the iTunes Store as well.
*My banks do the same thing when I pop up making a purchase with my bank cards somewhere in the world I have never made a purchase before. They call me and email me and want to know if it is indeed me using the card.

  • How I can export files from CS5.5 to send for further editing in CS6 and no lose quality?

how I can export files from CS5.5 to send for further editing in CS6 and no lose quality?

If all you need for further editing is the contents of your Timeline,
then you should follow Harm's sage advice.
    Lagarith Lossless Video Codec
    http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
    Ut Video Codec Suite
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Ut-Video-Codec-Suite
But, if you will need all of your source media files to continue the edit,
you should consider using the Project Manager.
    Trim or copy your project
By using the Project Manager, you will be continuing the edit
with the original media files and there will be no quality loss.
Be aware that once you have edited the project in CS6,
it will be problematic (but not impossible) to return to edit in CS5.5.

  • Export clips to re-import for further editing?

REF to the following discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4846909#4846909
Excuse  me for butting in, but this is related to my question. I, too, wanted to export at a 'matching original' format so as not to lose any quality. And noticed the same 50% quality output.
Some of the clips in my project needed denoiser applied before bringing into a sequence for editing with other clips. but they won't play in realtime, even with CUDA. I thought I might put each clip on its own sequence, apply the effects, and export out the new denoised clip to re-import. But with the matched setting, it seems the quality is noticeably degraded. I can't really tell because my monitor is not professional.
I also tried the DNxHD format, but it created huge files and poor quality video. Perplexed about that one, as I was expecting a ProRes type quality on the PC.
So, if the matched setting is not adviseable, what then is the best output format to use for HDV material to be re-imported back in for further editing? I am thinking h264 at a high data rate like 24-25 Mb/sec.  Or is that advisable at all?
And, I assume the original clips with denoiser effect (red bar) do not need to be rendered before exporting?
I have a reasonably fast PC, 32 G RAM, NVidia GTX580 Ampd! video card, i7 3.4 MHz processor, separate RAID 0 drives for footage and previews. And CS6 apps.

    Alex,
I suppose it would not be helpful to suggest a different camera - one with better low light capabilities, but it might be worth considering.
Cineform will interpolate the 4:2:0 chroma to 4:2:2 and has it's own color correction tools. I imagine that will help you immensely. I used to capture directly to the Cineform codec and need to start doing that again if I ever get around to taking the HDV camera out of the bag again. If you capture to it, there is no time lost to speak of.  I am not sure if I am going to do that much after I buy my new DSLR next month, except to use as a second camera or for b-roll but you never know. If my research determines that I am sticking with Cineform after I change cameras, I will be posting the reasons here on the forum, just to let people know what I found.
And no. You don't need to render in order to export, but most people do so they can see the video in real time before exporting.
Lagarith can be found under AVI. You have to change the majority of the parameters from codec to frame size to filed order and more, but you can get there. I have never used UT so I can't help there.

  • Why can't I move photos from Lightroom to Elements II for further editing?

Why can't I move photos from Lightroom to Elements II for further editing?

You can. select the image you want to edit externally then :-
In the top toolbar Go to :- Photo, Edit in Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor
If this isn't working got to :-
    Edit, Preferences, External Editing
.....and check that Ps Elements is set there. You are able to set two external editors.
    Good luck!

  • When I send a file to PS for further edits then send it back to LR..

When I send a file to PS for further edits then send it back to LR, sometimes the file goes to the end of the folder with the original rather then staying in order with all the other file #. How do I get them to stay in order.

Library module above filmstrip change Sort: to 'Capture Time' or 'File Name.'

  • Save copy of emails to dvd

I wish to burn a copy of all my "documents" in my email on a dvd for back up. Can you tell me where to go on the hard drive to find the file they are located in?

Yes, if making a backup copy of all your mail is what you want, that folder is the only thing you need to care about. Note, however, that all your account settings are stored separately in the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file, so you may want to back up that file as well.

  • CFMAIL: How to open an email for further editing before it is sent?

I'd like to know if there is a way, using CFMAIL, to create
the email in the code but instead of sending the email, have the
email open in the client email program so that the user can further
edit this email if they so wish before they manually hit the send
    button?
I could use the standard html mailto tag instead of cfmail,
but I need the email to force the "From" value I specify, and not
show it's from the person who's email account it opens in with
their email client. So I'm hoping there is a cfmail equivalent as I
don't want the email to send straight away!!
Any workarounds to get this to work gratefully received!
    Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply, Dan. The textarea presented on
another webpage isn't what I'm after, so I guess it's back to the
    drawing board!

  • I cant make a copy of a purchased dvd (for personal use)

    Ok, please help,
i made a copy, using disk utility, of a dvd (which i own). What has resulted is this: i have two files on my desktop 1. dracula.cdr and 2. disk2.dmg
these i know are video files, but they seem useless. when i dbl click them i end up with two seperate DVD_VIDEO icons on my desktop, i think these are called volumes. Anyway, they are both 7.21GB which is too large for my 4.7GB DVD-R (and at this stage i don't want to even think about trying to split over two disks!)
But what annoys me is that i can't even view the dvd content that is on my hard drive, let alone burn it to disk!!
What on earth am i missing?? Apart from necessary brain cells..
    Thanks,
    Anthony

More important, it is beyond the scope of this discussion group, which is intended to cover the use of the iDVD application. This isn't a discussion group about all Apple/DVD issues, it is a discussion group about iDVD-5.
That said, to the original poster, visit http://www.videohelp.com and you might have more luck finding the kind of details you need.
Oh, and is CSS really intended to be disc copy protection? Think about it: What good does it do to encrypt a file and then include the keys in the DVD player? If you copy the disc, leaving the CSS intact, the copy will still play in a DVD player. CSS doesn't prevent discs from being copied. I haven't tried, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if DVD Player.app can play the VIDEO_TS file ripped from a commercial DVD and NOT decrypted.
CSS is patent protection for DVD players. If you build a DVD player and you don't pay the license for the CSS keys, your knockoff DVD player won't play most content. The side effect is that it makes it more difficult for end users to excerpt scenes.

  • How best to copy to cd or dvd for viewing on tv as slide show

want to view photos on tv using cd or dvd - as a slide show - what is best way to do the task?

Easiest way to make a copy of a bootable CD/DVD (assuming you have an optical device that can burn CD/DVDs) is to pop in the disk, launch Disk Utility, select the volume, select File->New->Disk Image from diskXsY, and in the dialog box that pops up, select CD/DVD Master under Image Format and Encryption->None. Once it's finished, eject the CD/DVD, select the image in Disk Utility, and Images->Burn, pop in the blank, and that should do it. Details in Disk Utility->Help->Disk Utility Help->Duplicating a CD or DVD.
The master image format is required for bootable disks.

  • When using Yahoo for email, the symbols for spellcheck, edit and fontsize are blank. If I hold the arrow over the space, it will show me what it is. This only happens with Mozilla, but works fine with Att.

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

  • How to save a final cut X project file to a dvd for future editing

How do I save a project to a dvd so that if I want that footage again sometime, I can open it in Final cut X and be able to work with it.
Is this a smart way to keep projects, or should I continue filling up externals with saved projects?
I am working with HD footage.
Some guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rick

I think you should be able to just burn the Project and Event folders onto the disc, and then when you need to work with them, copy them back to a hard disc and carry on.

  • Exporting the film in best quality for further editing

I am about to finish a 52-minute long documentary in Final Cu Express. I've been editing in HD, using Apple Intermediate Codec1080i50.
Part of the project files and render files are in an external G-Raid and other part are on my Macbook pro hard drive, Since I will be traveling, I would like to be careful and minimize the risk of something happening either to the G-Raid or to my Mac, therefore, I want to export the film as it is, although in the future I still might need to work on it - do some more final editing and definitely do the subtitles in DVD Pro (currently I don't have the DVD Pro). My question is whether I should be using export - quick time movie or quick time conversion - and what the settings would be for the best quality product that could be used in documentary film screenings and possibly shown on TV? Or how should I go about saving the project? Right now the project file only has references to the files, right, not the files themselves and if something happens I might lose it all...
    Thanks for the help!

QuickTime Movie. Forget the render filed, they seldom reconnect properly; it's usually better just to re-render. Keep your G-RAID and make sure it is backed up together with your project.

  • Reimporting an img file for further editing

Hi I was reading about a program which would enable one to convert an img file to a form that would allow the file to be reimported to editing software for additional work. I can't remember where I read about it or what it was called. Anyone hear of such a useful thing?
    Thanks
    Leslie

    Hi Leslie
The most convinient way I know of is using Roxio Toast™
In Video mode down a small round button indicates "Export" the resulting
file is just to import to iMovie, FCE etc.
Quality is less that Your original but max what a DVD can deliver.

  • Exporting synced audio with video for further editing

I'm exporting DSLR footage with synced audio in order to "bake" the audio in. I'm going to bring the export into Prelude to organize and then back into Premiere to edit. What are the best export settings (including target and maximum bitrate) to maintain top quality footage that I'll continue editing?
    Thanks!

I'd go with UT, DNxHD or AVC-I for this.
