Bluetooth shuttted down after I updated to Mavericks, please help me !
I am 70 Years old and worked very happy with my iMac (21,5“ mid 2010, 3,2 GHz Intel Core 3)
until I updated him from  SnowLeopard 10.6.8 to Mavericks 10.9.2.
2 Days all was OK. Next Morning-Start he needs (until now) 3 minutes to show me a SCREEN only milky white. After that he starts like ever with all ICONS in about 1 minute. (together 4 min.)
..But I must notice, that I cannot make anything, because the „BLUETOOTH APPLE WIRELESS KEYBOARD  and the APPLE  MAGIC MOUSE“ doesn't work anything like before.
I could nothing do, I must drop my APPLE only out.
That I maked ever 10x and all was the same... (Maveriks also 4x new updated)
I taked my Logitech-Bluetooth-Mouse from the WIN-Laptop, dropped it in USB from iMAC...and in one second I could work only with this MOUSE...I buyd the Logitech COMBO K520 and all was OK now with my lovely APPLE iMAC to work with him...But without APPLE KEYBOARD and MAGIC MOUSE...and with a 4 min. -START until now.
I  asked the EXPERTS from APPLE-SUPPORT under Tel. 0800-6645451 in Germany, became a Number, maked many Things by starting new, but the mistake after all is the same like before.
When I look into ...Apple/ Info/System/ Hardware/ Bluetooth   ..my APPLE says: NO INFOs FOUND (Es wurden keine Informationen gefunden.)
Under Hardware/ Diagnose : Selbsttest beim Einschalten: zuletzt ausgeführt: 15.05. 14, Ergebnis: Bestanden (that means OK) !!
I asked many Peaple, who sold APPLE-Computers in the STORS, but they all had no IDEA, how they can help.
I think, it could be a DRIVER when Starting the BIOS, JAVA RUNTIME a.s.o...
Is an Expert under YOU to help me by my Problem with this iMAC ?

    dietmarfromdeu,
if you start up your iMac in Safe mode, do you still have Bluetooth problems with your Apple wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse?

What happens when you play music? Do the hardware volume controls work when using the Music app?

I have an older version of Adobe Digital Editions (around 3 years old) and was very happy with it.
Then I had problems with my Kobo Reader and asked a friend who works in IT to assist. She could not fix the Kobo but she messed up my Addobe. She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
can you please help me - going on vacation in three days and cannot go without books.

Please authorize ADE 3 with same credentials that you used with older version of ADE

  • Leica D lux 4  & Aperture 2 = Very Happy :-)

I was always under the impression that the Leica D-Lux 4 Raw files would not work with Aperture 2, however playing around with the supplied Capture 4, I exported the files as DNGs and lo and behold they work in Aperture 2. Somehow I'd never managed to get them to work with the Adobe DNG converter.
I am over the moon, hadn't realized this until this happy accident. I currently cannot justify upgrading my G5 to run AP3 so this is fab!
Maybe it's old news, but I thought i'd share it anyway!

I have been waiting for over a year for RAW support for the Leica D-Lux 4 using Aperture 2. It seems that this support is only going to be offered for Aperture 3 users. I have asked at my local Apple Store for an explanation without any success. Is it really just a marketing ploy for A3, or was there a technical reason why A2 could not have support for this camera??
    Hi Tony,
Now I am not sure if this conversion works on a machine without Aperture 3 on it, because all of the machines here have A3 on them...
    BUT...
I just dragged a .RWL file into iPhoto and it opened, no problem.
I have no control over the conversion, of course, and the better control system for RAW is what you are paying for in A3.
I shot over 30K images with my DL4, storing RAW + JPG hoping for this, and seeing them come up in A3, and be so workable (better that Phase one) was a very happy day for me.

  • N8 - A very happy customer

I just bought the N8 and so did my GF.
I must say I'm very very happy with it, after reading reviews where the ycomplain about the OS and icons etc. the regular reviewers have lost a lot of weight with me.
    1) Nokia strikes a very good balance with those of us who know and are used their phones and new things and updating the OS. Overall a great balancing act well done.
    2) Design of the N8 outclasses everything out there.
    3) Camera is usable, first phone I've ever felt I could actually leave my Canon at home. OVI Maps run smooth as before.
    4) The phone is responsive and smooth in all usage with very practical new features in the GUI.
    5) Feature rich, being able to use TuneWiki to listen to shoutCAST and the FM transmitter in my car made my brother quickly tug his iPhone back in his pocket before I revealed more actual practical functionality of the N8 hehe .
Now I'm just curious as to why the N8 isn't getting more attention in the US, can't understand it actually but globally I just feel Nokia makes the best phones. There are millions of users out there that are NOT interested in smart phones and want light phones in their pockets with email at most. Then there are users like my that want smartphones but with actual practical uses, we've got no time for cute apps that have no real use etc.
Overall verdict in my opinion: Nokia N8 is my choice over all the others as the most practical, stylish and coolest smartphone out there today.
    N8 User.

    Hi,
My advice is send it to Nokia Care, it seems like a software problem and you have no control over it.  As long as you have not been playing tennis with it, you will have no problems
Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

  • Very happy with AppleCare service...

    Hello,
This isn't a question, but after I have moaned so much about the minor issues I have had with my new MacBook, I figure it is only fair to sing the praises of AppleCare for their responses...
My white, 2Ghz MacBook has worked beautifully since I had it, but I was one of those unfortunate enough to suffer from the discolouration. It took a couple of calls to AppleCare, but they agreed to take it in for repair, and they replaced the top case - and I was only without my machine for two nights.
I was very happy about this, but my joy was short-lived. On closer inspection of my machine (and I have mentioned this on various threads...), I found that only the top case had been replaced, and not the plastic around the screen, which is made from the same plastic and was already beginning to suffer from discolouration. Moreover, during the replacement, the engineer must have been a little careless while prising off the old top case, as there was a small nick in the polycarbonate next to it. The nick was only about a millimetre and barely noticable, and it would not have bothered me too much had it not been for other issues. On top of this, the new top case was poorly fitted - it was a little warped with a millimetre gap between it and the top case in some places. I deliberated about calling AppleCare and giving up my machine again. But then, only three days after my top case replacement, the new top case started showing signs of yellow discolouration around the edges. So I called AppleCare again...
And again, they were brilliant. They took away my machine last Wednesday. By Friday, it was listed as "repair on hold - waiting for parts", but the parts obviously arrived fairly quickly as I got my machine back today. And I have to say that I am surprised at how amazing they have been. In an attempt to fix my issues, they have:
    - Replaced my (replacement) top case.
    - Replaced the screen bezel
    - And, incredibly, for that tiny nick they caused, they have completely replaced the polycarbonate bottom case.
My computer looks brand new. Apple could easily have claimed that these issues were "within spec" (which I was initially worried about), and they could easily have accused me of causing the chip in the polycarbonate. Instead, they just replaced the lot.
Now, I'm not 100% confident that my new top case or screen bezel won't start to discolour again. The last replacement top case started to discolour very quickly, and it seems that although Apple are trying to address the issue, they haven't got to the bottom of it yet. But I do have confidence in AppleCare and that they will do everything they can to fix my problems. Now that I know it's worth it, I am about to invest in the two-year extended AppleCare warranty.
Just wanted to share this positive experience (in part to prove that I'm not a troll just here to moan ).
    All the best,
    Keith

    Hi Keith...
    Greetings from across the pond.
Great story--I'm glad to hear everything worked out for you.
Personally, at least here in the 'states, I've never <knock/on/wood> had any problems working w/ Apple or AppleCare directly.
I've found the customer service at AppleCare to be, above all, polite.

  • 3.2GHz Quad-Core Arrives - Very Happy

I wanted to follow-up on an earlier post about ordering the new 3.2GHz MacPro to replace my "older" 3.GHz Dual-Core MacPro.
I want to thank everyone here who provided me with their best advice when it came to adding additional RAM and transferring over my data.
I placed the order online on Monday, Februrary 19th. It was CTO'ed by the addition of a 1Gig hard drive, the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT graphics card and the Airport Extreme Wi-Fi card. Expected delivery was March 3rd. Soon after I ordered 6Gig of paired RAM from Transintl.com (as 2X1G modules) and figured the RAM would arrive before the machine.
The machine and the RAM arrived Thursday, February 21, just two days after the order. Both orders were for 7-10day ground delivery. Nice surprise, huh?
I pulled the side panel myself and adding the 6G of RAM to the 2G that came with the machine. I swapped the 1TB hard drive out of slot 1 with the older machine and moved over the other three TB hard drives from the old machine into the new machine's empty slots. I inserted the power cord and moved the USB and FireWire connections from the old machine over to the new machine, turned it on and it worked beautifully.
The only updates I had to make were to re-connect my wireless Mighty Mouse and mini-aluminum keyboard and restart (turn off/turn on) my Comcast broadband connection.
All 8G of RAM is recognized and the machine purrs nicely. The two new SuperDrives (Optiarcs) work very well and seem faster then my noiser Pioneer SuperDirves in the old machine. I never had a problem with machine noise but can say that this machine (maybe because it is new?) is so quiet I have to look down to the CPU to make sure the little green light is on.
The new graphics card is very very nice. It is supporting two 30" Apple HD Cinema displays and unlike the previos ATI X1900 graphics card on the old machine, there are no distortions or black lines across any of the applications or the screens themselves.
The machine is noticeably faster and smoother under Leopard 10.5.2 and I am very happy with it.
    Lisa

Thats interesting that you got Optiarcs for optical drives...i just received my new MacPro as well, and my 2 optical drives are Pioneer DVR-112D's. Do you mind doublechecking to make sure yours are Optiarcs?
Just for the record, I ordered my machine brand new, just delivered 2 days ago. Its a 3.2GHz 8-core with 16GB RAM, 4x1TB hard drives, 8800GT, MacPro RAID card, Airport Extreme, etc. I wonder if they are really using different optical drives for the same generation of MacPro.

  • BT Infinity - A very happy customer

I just wanted to say how happy I am now with BT Infinity - having been on a really slow connection with Sky, I now have a really fast and constant connection.
I must admit I had major problems at the start with my order (it eventually took a month to get it installed) and then I had problems with the HH3 (I've now purchased a Netgear WNR3500) - now problems at all now.
All I can say is - I'm very, very happy with BT Infinity

    I had Infinity installed in mid-January and it was a tremendous success (about 30mbs D/L, 8mbs U/L).
Sadly, service has been deteriorating as more and more people are joined to my neighbourhood box, so now I get up to 16-18mbs D/L on a very good day and sometimes only 4-5mbs.
Running bt's speedtester tells me that as long I can get 12mbs D/L, I should be happy and there is no fault.
The irony is that I had Virgin's 20mbs package that was great to start with and gradually became totally pants! I cancelled Virgin and had Infinity installed!
Let's see if BT Infinity becomes a victim of its own success...

  • Very Happy With My Macbook

Hello everyone, I got my Black Macbook for xmas and I couldn't be happier with it...I have never used..let alone owned a apple computer...and after a couple days had no problem with the difference in operating systems..i just love the style and size of it also...I'm very happy I went with the Macbook..
    Cheers
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

just got mine and i must say that i concur. awesome, speedy little machine, even with the large numbers of photos i shoot... and also, it works flawlessly with my linksys router, so i guess i got lucky according to all the posts...
my clients like the front row feature also. we've had a few comments on how nifty it is.
    happy computing.

  • Why is it that when I connect my iPhone 5S to my Windows Vista computer, the photos made with my iPhone are all of very low quality and most of them are turned upside down?

Why is it that when I connect my iPhone 5S to my Windows Vista computer, the photos made with my iPhone are all of very low quality and most of them are turned upside down?
On another note, the iPhone tells me that it's ''busy'' when opening a photo on the computer.
(I tried restarting my PC, connecting via another USB port, importing using PhotoStream, etc...)

Are you using the front or rear camera? When you say they are low quality, are you referring to file/pixel size, or how the picture looks? As far as upside down, how are you holding the phone? Older versions of Windows have issues reading the Metadata from the pictures and will not display the same.

  • I just jazzed up my 2 Ghz iMac with 10.6.8, and 4 gigs of memory. I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!), but now I have a thin yellow line way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom. This is really strange! Any input?

I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!). However, the really strange thing is this - there is now a thin yellow line, way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom, and stays there no matter where I go or what I do. I've never seen anything like this! It was not there before I did the upgrades. Anyone out there ever heard of such a preposterous thing ~ or have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

    Hello Mark,
It's going to mean a lot of reading but you should study the 'More like this' legend to your post's immediate right.  >>>>>>>>   plus some of the links within each.
The problem is well explored with much guidance on what to do and where to go.

Adobe extensions show in the Extension Manager and are enabled but do not appear at all in Photoshop CC 2014.  Third party extensions do show up and can be used.  All extensions are available in and can be used Photoshop CC.  I have reinstalled CC and Extension Manager to the most recent releases and the Adobe extensions are still not available in Photoshop CC 2014.  What should I do now?
