If the photo was taken with the iPhone camera or copied from an email or the web you can use the Photos app to delete the photo.
If the photo was copied to the iPhone during a sync with a computer you delete the photos by doing another sync. Either delete the album the photos is in or move the photo out of the album it is in on your computer. Then complete the sync process.

You can't; not if the phones are sharing the same iCloud account. If you want to keep your data separate, migrate one of them to a different iCloud account. (You can continue to share the same iTunes ID.)
To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (this won't effect the other phone), choose Keep on My iPhone, sign back in with a different Apple ID to set up a new account, turn on your iCloud data syncing, then choose Merge to upload the data to the new account. You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's data from each account.
Another option if you're only concerned about not sharing contacts but wish to share everything else, is to set up a second iCloud account on one of the phones and sync contacts with the secondary account. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off and choose Keep on My iPhone. Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, sign in with a different Apple ID to create the secondary account, and turn Contacts to On. You can then go to icloud.com from your computer and delete the other person's contacts from each account. -

Actually, it does bring problem to couples, married or otherwise, when they spilt up. This forum is full of horror stories of splits and then one of the couples "locks" the other out of the Apple ID and in some cases rendering the phones useless (because of activation lock). Pettiness, IMO. But I digress .
I have found Family Sharing to be quite useful and have 4 users in my group and it has worked without a hitch since day one. -

In OS X 10.10 Yosemite how do I delete the receipts for ALL previous software/update downloads. The software tells me I have multiple installs of 10.10.1 but the version remains at 10.10.
I also get the "Available updates have changed.
On another note I have a copy of Apple Remote Desktop which I purchased long before Apple endeavoured to get too clever with its app store. Because it cannot find it in my list of recently purchased software it does not update it. Which is fine as it is at the latest level I need anyway. I just want the update software to forget about it. In the good old days when Apple software was decent one could tick a box to say "do not show this software in updates". Now there is no provision for this.
OK whinge over. The most important thing is to delete the list of installed updates. That would set me back to zero. I guess worst case scenario I could re-install but was looking for a more elegant approach.

With iWorks, iLife, and Aperture, Apple did provide a means for the App Store to 'adopt' installs made from non-App Store sources e.g. a DVD. You could then use the App Store to get further updates.
Sadly with Remote Desktop Apple have not done the same thing. In theory Software Update will find updates for the old DVD originated version, but you can download the latest 3.7.2 Admin updater here Apple Remote Desktop 3.7.2 Admin
Most software receipts are now not stored in /Library/Receipts but rather in /private/var/db/receipts -

Hold down the Option key while you boot your Mac. Then, it should show you a selection of devices. Click your flash drive and it will boot from that.

In iTunes under the Apps tab for the iPhone device just uncheck any app you don't want synced to the phone. When you next sync the app will be removed from the phone but remain in the iTunes library.

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. -
I want to get rid of a book in the iBooks "Purchased" collection, but when I touch the Edit button and select the book and then touch the Delete button, then the "Delete this copy" seletion, nothing happens. How do I delete the book from the collection?
The Cloud by the song indicates that is is an iTunes purchase but it is not downloaded on the iPod. If you only want download iTunes purchases to show in the Music app go to Settings>itunes and pp Store and turn off Show aLL.

How do you delete the contacts from "All on My Mac"? i have moved everything to iCloud and want to delete the contacts on my mac.
Signing out will not delete them from iCloud. Do it and read the message. It will give you the option to store address book contacts locally or just in iCloud. It will tell you that they will be available in iCloud when you sign back in.
In Addition, signing your mac out of iCloud does not sign your other devices out of iCloud. Any info in iCloud will still be available to other devices.
You can also access iCloud from the website https://www.icloud.com , which you can access from any computer at any time. -
