With Firefox 3.16 I could logIn to corporate website - why not with Firefox 5.0?

I am a Real Estate agent. With the earlier version of Firefox I was using (I think it was 3.16) , I was able to successfully 'log-in' to my company's national web site (http://www.21online.com/public/login ).
When I upgraded to Firefox 5.0, the web site displays OK, but even though I put in the correct user name and password, the site will not log me in. If I use Internet Explorer, I can log in.

I have a similar problem with my sites on ff 3.6.9 and win7, however they are fine with ff and xp they are also fine with ie 6, 7 ,8 , opera, safari and chrome in both xp and win7... I am sorry I don't have a solution... in my case I think its something interfering with the way ff in win7 is looking at css and I have tried recoding to no avail... As my sites look fine with all other browsers I'm hoping the bright sparks out their come up with a fix asap

  • I can't login on some websites, after I updated Firefox

    Hello.
I'm running Firefox version 20.0.1, and I can't login on certain websites. The login details are corect, since I can login using Chrome. This started after the update to that latest version of Firefox. I haven't installed any new add-ons before the update, or after it.
I cleared the cache (using Ccleaner and also from within browser's options), but that didn't solve my problem. I also cleared cookies, deleted browsing history, made sure I accepted 3rd party cookies. I also un-ticked the "I don't want to be tracked" option. I made sure that the sites I can't login into are not blocked from accepting cookies, or from anything else.
I have some add-ons installed (Ad-block, HTTPS everywhere, etc.), which I disabled one-by-one to see if they were causing problems, but with no success. Since I could login before the update, it's clearly not an add-on problem here.
    Thank you.

I deleted the cookies.sqlite, but I still cannot' login into those sites.

I recently forgot the password for my iTunes UK account with 100 pounds of credit. I called apple and said no one could help me if I did not know the security questions. Really? This company that pretty much can do anything is not able to tell me what the password is?
Any help i appreciated!!!! what doe aApple do with all the unclaimed money from lost or forgotten accounts?
    Jeffrey

For a forgotten password: go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com; click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.
For forgotten security questions log in at http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Password and Security' in the sidebar. There should be a link in the Security Questions section to send the answers to an email you have specified. Failing this, go to https://getsupport.apple.com click 'See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'.

With previous editions of iTunes for Windows, I could play a CD at the same time as it was being imported. That does not seem to work anymore. Why not, and is there a way to do both with the most current version? I am running a Surface Pro 2 with Windows 8.1 and the most recent vesion of iTunes, which, in all other respects, works well. I just can't listen to an album for the 1/2 to 1 hour that it takes to import it into my library.

  • Does McAfee siteadvisor work with Firefox - if not, why not?

does McAfee siteadvisor work with Firefox - if not, why not? Is there a way to make it work?

No, it is blocklisted by Mozilla due to that Site Advisor extension being the #2 cause of crashing the Firefox 5.0 betas. McAfee was notified of the problem long before that extension was added to the blocklist. Now it is up to them to fix it. <br /> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/
I have read that McAfee is working on a re-written version that is projected to be available in the 3rd week of July.

but when i open other window and login the same website use different account .
how can i achieve it ? thinks

Your problem has nothing to do with the faults or limitations of a web browser.
''There can be only ONE active user logged in on a specific website during a whole Browsing Session. Even if you try to log-in using a new window it will sign-out the earlier User ID from that website. It will keep the most recent logged-in User ID active.''
This is the general policy on which all websites are built. Even if you try to login the same website from another web browser, you won't be able to login from the second platform either. I just check it. Tried on Mozilla and Internet Explorer.

  • Safari and FireFox hosed on Yahoo, Flickr, Corporate Website (telecommuter)

    Good evening,
My wife has been experiencing a setback with Tiger since 10.4.7. She cannot login to her Yahoo groups, her Flickr account, or her corporate website for work. She can get access but going deeper than one level simply times out, both my Thinkpads work just fine. But, in the interest of checking everything I upgraded our network by installing a new, different brand, PPPoE router. She has the problem over wireless or wired connections. If that was not enough, both our other Minis are experiencing the same issue. One PPC, one Intel Mini.
We are both well acquainted with Macs having used them since 7.5.1. We have covered all the normal bases. I am a systems administrator having worked with Macs, Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows. It ain't our network.
We searched the forums for answers and some of them even worked. here is the rundown of what we have done, and what the results were.
Create a new user account to isolate the problem.
Result = Problem solved, no issues with Yahoo or Flickr
    Tossed Safari cookies
    Tossed Safari prefs com.apple.safari.plist
    Fixed permissions
Result = Problem solved for original user.
Wait one week, problem returned. Went through the above procedure and everything worked again.
Wait another week, problem returned. Went through the above procedure and the problem did not go away. Tried the second account we created to isolate the problem and now the second account has the same issue. Installed FireFox, no difference, problem persists.
We are seriously considering wiping the HardDrive and reinstalling the original shipped OS, then turning off SoftWare Updates, but that seems to much like a "Windows" solution to us.
I am out of options, does anyone have a permanent solution to this problem?
    Thanks,
    DAve

Ok, here is where we stand. We tried all manner of updates, including combo patches. Problem still exists, on all three Mac Minis. My work laptop (XP Pro) has no issue.
    2 Mac Minis(PPC) at 10.4.11 Safari 3.0.14
1 Mac Mini (Intel) at 10.4.11 Safari 3.0.14
Our network has been replaced, yes, replaced. New LinkSys PPOE router, new switches. All the Macs have been added to a 100mb full duplex lan. No airport.
We went so far as to reformat and reinstall Tiger from the original DVDs on all three Minis. With no software other than the install DVDs the problem returned.
At this point we allowed the Minis to complete a software update, hopefully to get only the newest updates.
No joy. You can go to maps.yahoo.com, login as a yahoo user, and attempting to logout will causes the pages to fail to load. Spinning cursor ****. Mapquest will fail sooner. Yahoo groups, Flickr, Facebook, etc. All hosed.
    Answers to Bee;
    - We tried the 10.4.10, problem returned, that was when we did a full format and reinstall.
    - The new users works, for a while. I suspect a cron job is the culprit, is there anything modifing perms (expecialy cookie permissions) on a schedule?
    - Firewall? no. There is nothing in the Linksys that should block access, I had my wife leave her Mac firewall OFF. My XP Pro machine uses the same network. We are all on DHCP. I had two servers in here last week, another work laptop, and three VMWare guests all running and having no issues accessing the internet.
I hesitate to go to an Apple store, if they tell me an upgrade to 10.5 will fix the problem I will spaz out. I am also not too keen on paying to fix an issue I see as not a user created problem.
I need direction, advice, a drink. The Macs are all but unusable for internet access at this point, if a website requires a login it's a crapshoot whether it will work or not. My wife has artwork and several classes on Flickr and Yahoo, right now she can't do anything.
    Help.

If you do not lock that folder immediately after deleting all the contents, it will simply populate again (Resume - a "feature" in Lion). You do that by doing a Get Info (highlight folder and press Command + I keys), unlock the lock at the bottom, enter your admin password, then check the box to lock the folder. lock the lock and you're done.
Yes, that is correct. The alternative is to quit all applications prior to logging out. Lion will then have a chance to remove the saved states.

    And, for the OP:
It has also been a regular feature of Mac OS to automatically open any window that was open at shutdown. To avoit that behavior, simply close any Finder windows and  properly quit applications by closing their window and using Command + Q (or File >Quit).
This was true only for the Finder. Prior to Lion, no other apps would launch unless they were included in the Login Items for the account. And the OS would not restore windows for other apps.
A very small number of apps (TextWrangler is an example) implemented this capability prior to Lion. They could restore previously opened windows. But that is an application feature, and can be controlled by the application's preferences. Lion implements it at the system level, and users have virtually no control on a per application basis.

It appears what happened is the installer though it was looking at a empty drive and just went ahead and installed.
I of course am assuming here you didn't use Disk Utility to format the drive first before installing, that would wipe out your files and programs for sure.
So what to do, what to do.
Well there is hope for you as long as the drive wasn't Filevaulted.
I'll explain. When a hard drive writes data for the first time to a drive, it starts at the very top and works it's way down.
When OS X was installed the first time, it was at the top of the drive, unless you upgraded then the upgraded OS X could have been written elsewhere.
Now when you just reinstalled OS X, the new OS went on the top of the drive, overwriting any data that was there previously, so what was there you have lost forever which is about 8GB or so. If it was the previous OS there, then your more in luck because only the old OS X was overwritten.
The remaining space on the drive still can have a copy of your files, provided it's not overwritten yet.
It's because when a hard drive deletes data or reformats, it doesn't remove the data off the drive or overwrites it immediately, it's just made so it's SPACE is available for new files to be written there.
So technically one can recover the deleted data off a non-encrypted/scrubbed hard drive with special software.
The way it does this is it reads the 1's and 0's of the files themselves, and through a lot of figuring out, can tell what that file is and what it belongs too.
So what you will have to do is this:
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
or if you don't have the skills, then take it to a local PC/Mac tech and they can do a direct image of the drive and then you can run Data Rescue on it to rebuild your files.
