With Firefox 8, "google translate" translate but doesn't speak (it speaks with IE)

Few days ago I downloaded Firefox 8. Today I try google translate (http://translate.google.fr/): it translates without any problem but impossible to have a sound. I verified with Internet Explorer, and there I can listen to google translate, so the problem comes from Firefox.
Thanks to solve this problem, because FF is very good and I need google translate too !

I discovered the issue was dom.ipc.plugins.enabled was set to false to prevent firefox from spawning an additional exe for plugins. With this setting set to true, the problem is resolved.
I guess the programmers are in love with the concept of the plugin container, so they quit developing the functionality without it. I would bet their response would be "use the container for the best user experience". Bullocks. They should know IPC is harder to keep straight than shared memory.

It's a really bad idea to post your email addresess - it's an invitation to spam - and I've asked the Hosts to remove them.

Is it the same user/iTunes account or...?
Syncing to a new computer should give you the opportunity to replace the exisiting contents with the new.

Is Google interfering with Firefox? Why is it when using Google Search engine, Firefox is always Not Responding? Doesn't appear to happen with other Search Engs

Really tired of waiting for Firefox Not Responding Msgs of late when opening a new tab and searching for something. It is not the speed of my Internet connection that is to blame and doesn't seem to happen if I use Yahoo or Google via Chrome for example. This problem only appeared some weeks/months ago and why, I have no idea.
I am a computer user, not a programmer and can only follow basic computer instructions - if I cannot resolve this frustrating 'Not Responding' message every time I wish to search for something then, I'll have to drop Firefox and use Chrome or similar as life is just too short.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

With firefox 4, google toobar seach box suggestions no longer appear in the search box itself

After installing Firefox 4:
When I start typing in the Google toolbar search box an item, like NYT and the search suggestions appear -- like NY Times -- I used to be able to click on "NY Times" and this would appear filled out in the Google search box. This no longer happens. Instead, what I have typed in is the only thing showing: NYT.

I think this may not be a browser problem but rather a Google problem.

I have windows 7 and my firefox client will not open, but it shows in task manager with 108k memory. Whats going on with my firefox?

As stated on the question I have windows 7 and meet all the requirements. But when i launch firefox It wont start, but it shows in task manager with 108k memory.

Got the exact same problem aswell, finally fed up with it now as i just started up firefox and 14 new windows opened because of this bug, luckily my computer can handle them but someone with a slower processor it would have been a nightmare, needs fixing ASAP.
Reverting back to 3.6.3 until this issue is solved. (link for anyone wanting to do the same below)

Cannot open PDF files online with Firefox 4, help suggests foxit but don't know what that is?

Earlier versions of Firefox allowed me to open PDF files online, without downloading. Firefox 4 does not allow me to open and read PDF files online, but requires downloading to computer.
Help suggest altering settings in FOXIT READER, manually, but I don't know how to access Foxit reader, if I have it.
Can I alter settings in Firefox 4, or do I have to go back to earlier version.

I was under the impression Foxit was a pdf viewer rather than an addon for Firefox, but maybe there is more than one application with a similar name.
I did not notice mention of foxit in the help, but add-ons are not always mentioned.

Why with Firefox 4 fast download of a flv video gives error whilst with IE it is possible but very long

If I download a flv video I get a message saying fast downloading is not possible and asking to eliminate the file from the list of downloadable files. If I do so: message of error!With IE the announced size of the same size of video (1 hr)the size announced is 2 Gygab..the time taken is 4 or 5 hours and the final size of the file is about 200 Megab. 3 months ago announced and final size 200 Mb and time 20 min.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.

When I download something with Firefox, it show the progress but when it's finished, the file that i downloaded dissapears.

While downloading something with Firefox, i can see the file in the downloads folder while it's downloading but as when it's complete, the file dissapears.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I upgraded IClick DVD Copy, but it will not work with Firefox. It has not been upgraded since I have been with firefox. Is there anything I can do?

I went to use 1 Click DVD Copy and there was an upgrade, so I went to the web site and downloaded the new version. After it was downloaded, I tried to use it; however, the disk to click to copy CD's was distorted and messed up my desktop. I did not have this problem the last time I did this when I was not with Firefox.

I have been unable to find any website for the maker, but have looked at several Thai/cambodian sites incl <http://www.buycoms.com/Article/8435/index.asp> which mentions the keyboard being suitable for tablet or windows. No mention of iMac! although the box is branded to indicate Mac compatable.
I'm thinking that maybe it just will not pair with an iMac.
Ill keep looking for the maker website, which might come on later in the future? maybe?

My Epson printer stopped working with Firefox today. It does test pages, will work on Notebook, and will work with IE. Up until today it worked with Firefox. Why can't I print anything from the internet with Firefox?

Up until today, I did everything with Firefox. Then I was on Paypal and went to print a shipping label and the printer would not work. I went to troubleshoot page and it printed a test page. I uninstalled my printer and then re-installed it. Still would not work from an internet page. I did a system restore. Still didn't work. Called Epson. They say it's a Firefox problem because it works on Notebook and test pages. I installed IE and the printer works. What happened and how can I get it back working with Firefox?

Voicemails with no message. Reboot helps but doesn't solve

I am getting voicemails with no message. I had this issue on my last phone and just got a new phone and the same thing happens. If I reboot the phone enough times they come back. But this is annoying to have to keep doing. I don't think a carrier issue as stated in a previous thread because they will appear after rebooting.
