With iMessage does the receiver have to be on wireless/wifi/3G to receive the message?
I'm usually very savy when it comes to IT but NOT where iMessage is concerned.
I was told about iMessage it was because I was txting a friend overseas and they said "oooo you're on iPhone because the message is blue". I had no idea what they were talking so I continued SMSing (green) and they were obviously iMessaging me because theirs was blue.
Ok so now that my partner has an iPhone, it seems that unless we're both on wifi (we don't have a data plan so only on our wifi at our respective homes) that it will send the text as a (green) SMS. We both have to be on our wireless to be able to use iMessage (blue).
But I know this has not been the case before. I.e. one could be one wireless and send an iMessage but the receiver might not be so therefore would just reply as an SMS.
What is the right thing?????
Also it appears that iMessages sent won't go thru as an SMS if a person is overseas and doesn't have data roaming on???

iMessage requires a data connection. That data connection can be either Wifi or 3G.

No. You have to use an email address. You can use your Apple ID email address and you can also add other email addresses. To add go to Settings>Messages and add the email address to the the Receive At location.

hello, i have updated my iphone 5 black 16 gb to ios 7.0.2 (11a501) and my battery life of my iphone has become worse it gives 9 hours of usage with out doing anything, i have done everything every tip that is available online i had 3gs and 4s so i know how to save battry life,i even tried not using my iphone as well but still no change at all!. i have upadted to ios 7.0.3 then downgraded it , i thought battery may be an issue ,so i put brand new battery still no change , so what should i do ? , update to the latest version which is ios 7.0.4 or wait for the ios 7.1 , i was using iphone 4s running on ios 6.1 it gave me 3 days of battery timing , iphone 5 seemed to be very bad for me ,help ! ?
its facory unlocked btwTry to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining. -
When I enter my password to start my atv it tells me, that "there was a problem connecting to the network." My Ipad works fine in my house, but not my new atv. I have reset my password multiple times with no help. I have also rebooted my wireless server. Do I take it back?

My iPhone4 (iOS 6) does not sync with iTunes. The message displayed suggests to return the iPhone to factory settings (which I cannot do). This happened after the iPhone was upgraded to iOS6 and performed one sync. Any ideas?

First, make sure that all your devices are using the same Apple ID in iMessages including your Mac. Second, your messages that you've already started on your devices will not show up on your Mac - only ones that you start from now on will show up. Third, if you're still not syncing accross all devices, make sure you read the directions on the first page of this thread. It should work after performing those steps. Good luck!

When and how does the message context get removed from the message when we use pass thru send port

i have a doubt regarding message context.
Assume i have used XMLRecieve pipeline in the receive side to receive the message so that the message context is created. I.e properties are promoted/written.
now if we use pass thru transmit pipe line at send side, how and when does the message context get removed from the message?? Since pass thru does not have any stages/components, how does the message context removed and sent out a pure message to destination???
i mean what exactly happens here to remove the context??

yeah yeah, adapter does create some properties in context. You are right, i am aware of it. I just missed to explain it clearly. what i meant is addition of context properties will not happen if pass thru used. Thanks its clear.

You are right , the context already exists on the message while it leaves the receive port, and once it persists
to message box the context and message context gets stored in messages in relative tables.
Now as you said the components get the message from the last persistence, assume i have a send port(with passthru)
subscriber and a orchestration subsrciber for this message.
Orchestration gets the message with context right!!
if the send sendport(with passthru) also gets message along with context, then where is this context removed/demoted
while sending it out?. i guess as per SAAkhlaq said,
here sendport(with passthru) should get a pure message without context as passthru used.
or is it that ultimately send adapter removes the context completely?
or is it something like biztalk run time load the context from database into cache and both orchestration and send port gets pure message, and if needed they use context from cache???
sorry i may be troubling you, but i am confused. i hope i am not creating any nuisance with this

The only other thing I can think of since this problem has to do with downloading on 3G is that the signal strength isn't good enough. Try a reset on the device, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and release. Once the phone restarts see if you can get it done. If not, you might want to check with iTunes support and see if they see anything wrong with your account.
Have you tried downloading on wifi? Does this work? Have you checked in iTunes for available downloads to try and get what you have cleared to start over? -

Okay - the message means that the system knows of no editor (program) to use to view these files.
Since I gather you recently upgrade to Mavericks from Snow Leopare (you might want to update your profile), I am guessing these movies are in the file format for a program that no longer runs on Mavericks (or is not installed).
It is possible that you can change the "kind" ie. the file format extension, to one that the system recognizes, and have it open these files with another program. You will have to experiment to see what works. -

Message mapping editor ,will generate the output as per your logic. Hence you need to validate and check whether the target message has been created correctly.
If you say," I'm perfect with the logic, I created the mapping I checked the target strcuture, its perfect, always the data will be populated correctly?" If the above is your question, then the answer is YES.

You may need to ask HP. I had the same issue with a networked (via ethernet) home HP multi-function. Sometimes the only way to get it to scan was to completely disconnect it from the network and connect it to only one Mac with a USB cable. Even that did not alwatys work.
Eventually, Apple started pushing out HP printer updates via Software Update. One of those finally made that error message to go away.
So run Software Update and see it there are new drivers that Apple made avaialble. -
