With new ilife installed, old(better) imovie crashes?

Hi all,
Ever since I installed the new iLife '08, my iMovie HD 6 has been a little messed up. When making a new movie, i can import clips and add them to the timeline. BUT, when i go to try and edit them and I click the "editing" button, it freezes and quits. This happens even if I don't have any clips in the timeline yet(i tried to see if it was the clips).
Also, I already tried the delete the .plist file and repair permissions.. did same thing.
What should i do?

Yes that's an observation that I've made too. Something is disturbing iM6.
Most common other thing:
• delete iMovie pref file - You've done that
• run: Repair Permissions (Apple Disk Util tool)- You've done that
• run: Repair hard disk (Apple Disk Util tool)- You need to start from DVD or ext hard disk
• free space on internal hard disk: at least 10GB but rather more 25Gb
Can't figure out any more to do for time beeing.
Anyone Please fill in with suggestions !!!

EYETV LITE WILL NOT STARTUP WITH NEW MAVERICK INSTALL

Well, I download the driver for Windows 8.1 64 bit, it appears to down load then says extracting and the bar goes along to 100% then nothing. There is no option to install the printer wirelessly, the printer does not appear in the devices and printers, the Scan Doctor tries to fix the problem and just says need to install the wireless facility by using the manual when I select the wireless option. As I said, I can plug in USB and use printer fine but what is the point of having wireless if it doesn't work? Printer worked fine when installed on Home Hub 2. Got a new lap top and still no problems. Problems started when had to have new Home Hub as the broadband connection kept dropping out. BT sent HH3 as don't do HH2 any more. Realised that the printer was still holding the details of the old hub but couldn't find a way of changing this. Reset printer to factory wireless settings so not holding these now. Cannot use CD to load printer as doen't work with Windows 8.

I suggest you visit Lexmark web site and download and install drivers for your exact printer manually.

You can't just put one file from somewhere and "plug-in" with your database.Either you have to recover that file which has another complications or you have to restore the entire old database.

Syncing iPhone & iPad with new laptop after old one crashed.

The computer (Dell laptop) I had originally synced my iPhone & iPad with crashed. I have a Toshiba laptop that I authorized with my iTunes account but I cannot sync my devices. When plugged in I receive the message waiting for my old laptop to sync. Any suggestions?

Kern Protection Failure associated with new HD install

Hello all,
I've been trolling for a solution to a troubling problem, but I can't seem to track it down here in the forums.
I recently replaced my Powerbook G4 internal hard drive with a much larger one. I used Super Duper to clone the internal, set the HD format to MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and all went according to plan.
Upon restart everything was flawless, with one noted exception. iPhoto opens for about 10 seconds (pictures are clearly in view) and then hard crashes every single time, with the fairly common 'KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE' I've seen in the forums.
I D/L'd the iPhoto Library Manager and tried the library rebuild feature, but it too was torpedoed by the KERN crash shortly after opening iPhoto to start the operation.
I then tried an option-click start of iPhoto and tried to start a new library. Still a hard crash, same as before.
I then cracked out my old iLife disk and reinstalled iPhoto (pitched the app and the receipt pkgs). Same result.
I've noted that some folks have issues when they improperly move their iPhoto libraries, especially to external hard drives. But in my case, it should be a bit for bit clone that hasn't moved... right?
So if a reinstall isn't taking, and it appears to not be library related, how do I rectify the situation?

Iweb with new ilife 09 not posting to mobile me

Help! I just upgraded to ilife 09 and I can't get my site to publish via iweb. I currently have a site up utilizing the old .mac address that published fine through iweb. Now that I upgraded to 09 and I redesigned my website I just tried to publish it and every time I hit the publish site key I get a pop up box from mobile me that says "sign in if a member or become a member". I am already a member and I have logged into my account but I don't know what to do. Why is my site not publishing when it was publishing just fine before I upgraded to the new ilife. Is there something I need to do????? and yes I am running leopard.

Go to System Preferences > MobileMe
Log out.
Log in with a funky user name and password. Accept the rejection.
Log in with your working user name and password.
Open iWeb, click Publish.

Syncing my iPad with new PC after old one stolen

Hello.
I would like to add iTunes to my new PC and link my iPad and iPhone to it, however, I am worried that when I do, I will lose all of my purchased music and DLs. I do not have access to my old computer that I originally used to sync my devices with to change the sync option to manual.
Is this a lost cause and will I have to start all over again?

Can I swap out old RAM with new before install of new HD?

I am replacing a friend's HD for her MacBook Pro 5,2 and also swapping out the old memory (2-2GBs) for new memory (2-4 GBs). My question is: does it matter whether I install the new memory before I install the HD or after? If after, does it matter whether or not the HD has been formatted? Has an OS installed on it? Any help here would be very much appreciated!

Your snow leopard dvd will format the HD properly to install the OS. Just replace the HD put in the snow leopard disc and let it do its thing

Upset after getting old model 6416 DVR with new FIOS install

I had my new FIOS triple play installed this week. The installer showed up with a refurb 6416 DVR rather than the current 7232 model.   I am apparently expected to pay the same price as those who have the 7232.   Storage capacity and external drive were key to my decision to switch to FIOS.   This is wildly unacceptable!
After spending many hours calling various hotline numbers, being transferred dozens of times, calling every Verizon store in the state... absolutely no progress.    I heard "we can't do anything" dozens of times.
After complaining via one email address I found, I did receive a response from an escalation rep who said they would "check with the local garage".    That sounded promising.   I did appreciate the response, but no word back since then.
This situation is insane.   Why must it be this difficult?    I am a few days into this so far... I guess I will be forced to cancel at some point if this does not get resolved.    Each day that goes by I will have to post more forum entries, send more emails, and make more phone calls.
If a Verizon rep reads this... please help!!!      It is very nice that someone is checking a garage, but that alone does nothing for me.  I just need a 7232.

Got one!    I found a Verizon store that just got a delivery of a few 7232's yesterday.   It was a 3 hour drive, but at least I have one now.

50.5 Fuser Error with new fuser installed

Our HP Color LazerJet CP6015 Printer stopped working because of a "50.5 Fuser Error". We ordering and installing a new Image Fuser Kit (220v) but it still shows the same error message. Anyone have any ideas how to fix the problem?

Error with new Creator install

I just installed Creator and durning the install it said there was an error and to look at the install.log. I looked at the install.log but can't seen to undstand where the error is. Here is the log below. Also in the log file for Creator there is a startup error.. This is below also. Is this error OK?

Marc, thanks fort your reply. The only reason I tried the older JCreator, and not the newer version, is because of system requirements. I do not have the required memory. So, after your response I said what the heck. I downloaded and tried to install the newer version. It started to install and hung at 29% processed on the progress bar. That's all she wrote. The prior JCreator at least installed it's developer IDE before it tried to install the AS. I guess the order of the install for the newer JCreator's is different. If you have read this thread you will see that I have tried for last year or so off and on to install the Application Server with no success. I have in the pass taken down MS's firewall but did not get any further. I forgot to do it this time. Maybe I should try one more time. I mean I do have GlassFish running . If JCreator supported that server I would not be worried about the AS.
I have no technical angle to define my problem. It just hangs. The old Watcom suite had at least debuggers so I could see where the hang is. The module..etc. Here I feel like a stupid user with a 'user friendly' install that does not work on my machine. frrustrating when I have three other servers installed and running on my machine. I specified my machine config in a prior response.

With new ilife installed, old(better) imovie crashes?
