With new OS6 I can't connect to wifi network with my iPhone

Ever since I upgraded to the new iOS6, my phone will no longer connect to my wifi networks. It only works on 3G. Tried to reset networks and various other things to no avail. Not happy ...

Hello,
I tried the Apple Support recommendation but nothing works, my Ipad mini still can't connect to wifi network, the wifi function in the setting menu it's not available.
I would like to send my device for technical support in USA. I'm live in Venezuela.
How can I do it?
Thank in advance

  • Can't connect to WiFi network with a WEP3 password

i have trouble connecting my ipod touch 3G to my Wifi hat home. we are using a WEP3 key, but i can't find a way to tell my ipod to use that.
i guess it is autimaticall yon WEP1 - is there any way to change it?

Suggestions to Apple should go here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html
However, I doubt that Apple (or any other manufacturer) will do much on WEP; it is easily cracked by hackers (in minutes) and has been deprecated by the standards group since 2004. Move to WPA2.

I can't connect to wifi network and bluetooth on iPhone 4S.  Need help.  Have already rebooted everything and reset network setting

I have the same problem; tried a phone restore, both restoring data and setting up as new phone with factory settings, reset all settings, re-boot, remove apostrophe, put in fridge, you name it!
I think there's quite a few iphone 4s users with the same problem!
I called Apple they said it's a hardware problem, but it has worked for nearly two years; they say go to the Apple store and they can provide a replacement phone for approx. £150!
I've been into the O2 shop where I bought it and they knew the problem exactly; said they had sent a few phones off for repair and had them back awith a report they cannot fix it because it's a software problem!
An assistant in the shop had the same issues; logic says it's a software problem and hopefully Apple will fix it with a patch but at the moment they seem to be avoiding everyones comments!
If anyone else has any ideas these would be appreciated?

  • Can't connect to wifi network after iOS update

Can't connect to wifi network after iOS update.

This does not work in my case.
Situation: we have wifi at home using WPA encryption.
The iPod Touch 8GB connected seamless to this network and anything was ok. After some days i could no longer connect, the iPod told me "connection to network 'networkname here' failed". Deleting the network and reenter the (correct) passphrase was no help, but changing the SSID on the router was helpful: the iPod could connect again ... for several days.
Now things stopped working again. Resetting network settings did not help either.
The iPod can see the network, is asking me for the passphrase and after several seconds telling me: can't connect. On the router log i don't even see a dhcp request, but other laptops work fine with the same wifi network.
That's a mess, i cannot and will not change the SSID every some days just to get the iPod working again.

  • Can't connect to wireless network with Apple Computers (WRT54G)

    Hi.
I have had a password protected router (WRT54G) for over two years that any pc will connect to if I give them the password.  However, my roommate has an apple laptop and he can't connect, no matter how many times we try.  I just got an ipod touch, and it can't connect to the network either.  We are inputting our password correctly - why can't apple computers connect to my wireless network??
Again, my router is a WRT54G.
    Thanks !!!

Make sure you enter the correct password...To check your Wireless Settings follow this link
If your Wireless Security is WEP then use WEP Key1 and not the Passphrase, make sure to enter a dollar sign on your Apple Computer when you attempt to connect...If your Wireless Security is WPA/WPA2 then use the WPA Shared key and no dollar sign is required...

  • I have Trouble Connecting To WiFi Network with My Mac, while the rest of the technology connects to it perfectly...

I have used my Mac for almost a year now, and I've always had no problem connecting to WiFi, but today - suddenly I've lost the connection and now I can't see the WiFi Network in the list... I have 2 WiFi's connected together at home - TP Link and Netgear...
The internet still works on a PC which is connected through Ethernet, and the Mac itself works when it's connected through Ethernet... The first thought I had was the problem with WiFi settings, but my IPhone can connect to internet and work perfectly... So next thought was that it was a problem with my mac, but my dad has the same problem with his Mac (he also used this WiFi Network fine before)... So any thoughts?

  • Can't connect to WiFi networks via tray icon, manually adding works fine

I've searched for about a day for anyone having a similar issue and have come up with nothing so far.  I have an older HP laptop with Windows 7 32 bit that is having issues with connecting to WiFi networks.  It will find all available wireless
networks just fine, and when I select mine, it comes up with the prompt to enter my password, however when I hit OK to connect, the prompt disappears and nothing happens or responds afterwards.  A few things that I've tried in order to troubleshoot and
    narrow down the problem:
-I've tried connecting to two different wireless networks; one with WPA2 encryption and one with no encryption, both have the same issue (obviously the non-encrypted wireless network doesn't prompt for a password, but once I hit connect all prompts disappear
and acts as if I did nothing).
-I've added the WPA2 encrypted network manually to my list of wireless networks, and once I do this it connects just fine.  When removed, it disconnects and the issue happens again (this confirms that the wireless password I'm entering is correct and
that there are no issues with the wireless network itself, as well as other devices working flawlessly on the same wireless network).
-I've disabled all firewalls and antivirus through this whole process, did not make a difference.
-I've reset winsock which didn't make a difference.
-I've run a virus scan, no viruses on the laptop.
I've run out of ideas as to what would prevent being able to connect to a wireless network through the normal process of finding nearby access points, putting in your password, and having it work.  I understand that I could simply leave the wireless
network added manually, but this is not an option for when the laptop is taken elsewhere as having to add whatever wireless network I'm near manually is not something that should have to be done.

I would recommend to update the driver for you wireless nic as a first step. Also, if installed, get rid of third party utilities that 'manage' your wireless network(s)
    Also check if you can
clear out the remembered connections i've encountered issues before when a network with same ssid but different connection settings was stored by windows.

  • New download of keynote files when changing wifi network with iPad

When i change the Wifi Network with my ipad3 (without 3G) it always starts to download the keynote, numbers and pages files from the iCloud. You can't open any file until its downloaded again, you just see the Folder and the file as a placeholder.
In my opinion this Akers totally no sense. I expect a synchronization between iPad and the iCloud like it woks with mail, kalender.  Even dropbox just downloads the file you select for use. In my case I have 64 files only in keynote, created on the iPad and eaven without changing something it will re download all files from the iCloud before I can use them.
    Anybodydid the same experience ?
Is this a bug or a really shh.... Feature?

No that's not my experience, it's clearly not working as it should. Perhaps you should restore your iPad.

  • Since upgrading to latest iOS, my WLAN can not see many wifi networks,  my friends iPhones pick them up easily. What should I do?

Since upgrading my 4s iPhone to the latest iOS , I now can not see many wi-fi locations beyond my home network.  Friends can find and connect to many wifi networks yet my iPhone does not even see them.  I can not recall prior to the upgrade whether in the settings whether turning on the wifi was shown as wifi or WLAN however the on/off is now WLAN.  Not sure what the difference is.  I totally reset the phone but no improvement.  Can any body help me?

I have tried this however it did not make a difference.  I found another user on the support pages that has the same issue.

  • Can not connect to wireless networks with ipad 2

My ipad used to connect to the wireless net at home and in public areas.
Now all by the sudden it can't "see"  the network.

My iPhone works, as do all my other computers.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

  • Can't connect to wireless network with "conflicting" essid

    Hello,
My wireless card works perfectly (actually I am using ndiswrapper, but anyway) on Arch and I can connect to my home wireless network. I use iwconfig to connect.
In my office we have a wireless network. It's essid is "default" and it uses WEP. I can connect to it using Windows, but not using Arch. Im running the following commands:
iwconfig wlan0 essid "default" key XXXXXXXXXX
    dhcpcd wlan0
and it doesn't connect ("waiting for carrier..." and nothing happens)
I guess the problem is that there is another network with the same essid - "default". I've tried to manually associate my card with my office network AP using iwconfig wlan0 ap XX:XX:XX:XX:XX, but it didn't work either.
    What should I do?

What kind of Wireless card do you have and what does it say when you do a lspci? So for me, I know I have a Broadcom and the way I found it was to do:
lspci | grep BCM4312 (or whatever wireless make/model you have)
    or
    lspci | grep "Network Controller"
The second option should also get it for you. From there, you can check out this list to see if that might help you with drivers (but then again, you might have known this already so...).
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't connect to wireless network with Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista

I set up a wireless network about a week ago, and have made it with the following security features: WEP, enable only certain MAC addresses to connect, and disabled broadcasting the SSID.  I have been able to use it just fine with my Mac computer using airport, but when I have tried to connect my roommates computer, a dell inspiron 1525 with vista, it can't connect.  I can locate the network but when I try to connect to the network, I get a message saying that for an Windows cannot connect to the network and that the Wireless association failed due to unknown reasons.  It then says to connect with your administrator, but that is me.  I have a minimal knowledge of computers just enough to be dangerous and am basically figuring this out as I go along.  If anyone has some advice for me, both my roommate and I will be very grateful.
    Thanks,

  • Can't connect to WiFi-nets with password

I am not quite sure that this is the right place to post this question, but feel free to move it to where it belongs, any moderator:)
I have encountered a problem I didn't have earlier with my iBook trying to connect to WiFi-nets - it seems impossible to connect with passwords - only the net I have at home with Airport Express works, password included.
As soon as I find a net which doesn't require passwords, it all works.
I experienced this for the first time in February when I visited the newspaper I am working for, which is all Macintosh. They gave me the password to be able to log in to their wireless net, but I just received a message which reads something like An error occurred when attempting to log on to xxx net. Retry? OK. (Translated from Norwegian)
On the same trip, I could log on to public nets where you come to an opening page where you fill in username and pass, but when I visited my mother's where my brother has put up a wireless router, neither my mother's new iMac nor my iBook could connect and we received the same message and had to use Ethernet cables.
It seems to have gotten worse, since I the other day tried to connect to a public network here where I live and with which I have had no problems earlier, but now I receive that same error message.
I suspect that it may be caused by some minor bug in the latest update to Tiger, since another problem with Bluetooth, which went unresolved here, disappeared with that update. But instead, I have gotten this. Hopefully, my assumption is wrong and there is a solution out there:)
    iMac G5 20", iBook 1,33 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   iSight
    iMac G5 20", iBook 1,33 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   iSight
    iMac G5 20", iBook 1,33 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   iSight

    Nothing but perfect.
As for the log in page not appearing, I read in another topic here that sometimes it might help to try Firefox or IE instead of Safari as they might have coded it that way or something to that effect, but the problem is that Airport doesn't even connect to the net as it did earlier. The only thing which happens is that message.
In another forum, someone discovered that if the card is not firmly placed into the contacts, problems may occur, but since I have had no problems earlier and haven't touched the card and it was not installed by me, I very much doubt that it is the case here - and it works with open nets without passwords...
