With Pages, How Do I Disable Hyperlink Actions?

How do I disable Pages from automatically making webpages or email addresses I type into my documents turn into a hyperlink? I'd also like to know how to change hyperlinked text into regular text.

I'm creating a document and i have a number of email addresses to work with, cutting and pasting, so I don't want the hyperlinks to be active. It was a simple matter to turn them off in the old Inspector. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in the current version. Please advise.

Thank you for the question. You can disable hyperlinks by verifying that Edit>Substitutions>Smart Links is unchecked before you enter the links or email address in the document:
Turn off automatic formatting for links
If you don’t want Pages to automatically format links as clickable text, you can turn off automatic formatting.
Choose Edit > Substitutions > Show Substitutions (the Edit menu is at the top of your computer screen).
Select the Smart Links checkbox.
Click a button to replace all occurrences of formatted links in the document, or just in the selected text.
When Smart Links is turned on for the document, a checkmark appears next to Smart Links in the Substitutions menu. You can deselect it to turn it off, but existing links won’t change unless you select the text that contains them, then follow the steps above.

How can i disable an Action listener temporary?

hi folks,
I have a GUI with many Jcomboxes. Each one of them has an actionlistener.
The idea was: when one of those comboboxes is selected, then the selected value will appear on ALL the comboboxes (by using setSelectedIndex(int index)).
The problem is when i select a value on ONE of those comboboxes and set it on the others, the actionListener thinks that i selcted a value on the other comboboxes and starts setting the values again... I other words if i select one combobox i obtain an endless loop...
Is it possible to disable the action listener temporary when setting the selectd values on the other comboboxes?

Just use removeActionListener and then addActionListener

This is something new for Firefox, however it is very annoying like a virus. i want 1 tab to open when i click my browser. Firefox opens up an additional tab along with my homepage. i want this disabled if i want Firefox news i will visit a forum for Firefox.

How can I disable hyperlinks in a pdf

Sorry if i'm not posting this question in the most
appropriate category.
I'm trialing Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional and I'm looking for
a way to disable the hyperlinks within a pdf.
Basically in my workplace we provide an information directory
using a touch screen monitor for members of the public to use to
research health conditions. I want the members of the public to be
able to access certain pdf files but not to be able to escape from
that pdf file. Currently if they click on a hyperlink (whether it
be an email address or even a linked picture) then they are able to
escape from what they are supposed to be reading.
From the 'preferences' - 'general' menu I have unchecked
'create links from URLs' which now brings up a security message
asking whether to allow or block the URL but this isn't the
solution I was looking for.
I have read about putting a space part way through the URL to
fool Adobe so that it doesn't recognise the link as a URL but that
solution just isnt feasible in this case as there are potetially
hundreds of hyperlinks i would have to find and then edit (also
this wouldn't work if there are any pictures which are
hyperlinked).
I'd be extremely grateful for any help with this problem.
Perhaps this isn't a feature available in Adobe 9 Professional and
someone might know which version I should be using.

How do I permanently disable the annoying feat of viewing a preview of a hyperlink, everytime the mouse hovers over a hyperlink?

When visiting certain sites, if I click on a featured link, I get the message: "Firefox has prevented this page from automatically directing to another page", How do I disable this so I am able to get to the page I want?

In this particular case, I was on a page that offered group discounts ("deals") that can be purchased for a limited time. To make the purchase, I needed to click onto the link with the name of the deal being offered. However, upon clicking on that link, I received the message from Firefox that it was preventing the page from automatically directing to another page i.e. the page that would have allowed me to make my purchase. Please answer quickly since the deal I want to purchase expires in three hours!

How can I disable the annoying orange outline while I tap a link or a input area?

i'm a user of Firefox for android. i've found a problem since I update to 16.0.2 and above. every time i tap a link or a input text in the web page, there always shows an annoying orange rectangle outline around the focused link or input area. Moreover, this outline would keep showing while I drag the page and start browsing other parts of the same page. how can I disable the annoying feature?

This is the default feature of the browser to indicate which element are you on, if you are actually on focus with the input or tapping on the right link.
Since this is a default feature of the browser, it now depends on the website's developer to override this feature with custom focus styles. Normally, in a browser, you can override this with user styles/scripts but as far as I know, Firefox Android does not support such features.
However, I found [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929362 an article] that states that there is a [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ plugin] that is compatible with Firefox Android that handles user styles.

The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

HOW to create an hyperlink to a different part of the doc with pages v5.0

Hello, On Pages V4.3 it was possible to create a favorites and then create a hyperlink to these favorites in the same document.
Since I have updated to V5.0 I don't find how to do it and don't find any updated manual.
Is that possible? Do someone know how to do it?

Many features have been removed from Pages 5 and this is just one of them.
You should have Pages '09 in your Appliactions/iWork folder.
If you wish to stay with Pages '09 trash or archive Pages 5 so that it doesn't accidentally open your Pages '09 files and alter them.

As of Firefox 4, it seems to have been decided that PgUp and PgDn are now buttons with which you flip back and forth between pages. To me, this essentially means almost losing valuable information because I actually use those to go up and down pages, so I wonder; How do I disable this new and utterly inconvenient feature?

You also appear to have a later one, though still out of date installed namely, ''Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5 ''
First of all, click the orange Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Plugins and disable the Macromedia version.
Then go to http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/ and update the other one.
If the problem persists afterwards, try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

How can I disable Pages 5.1 and make 4.0.3 the default again?

Does anyone know how to disable Pages 5.1 so that it NEVER opens a doc again unless I somehow re-enable it?
I don't want to delete it in case someone sends me a tainted 5.1 Pages doc. Plus I'm sure if I DO delete it, it will keep showing up like a bad penny when I run the software updater which is nearly equally anoying.
I have tried doing a "get info" on a pages doc and selecting "open with pages 4.0.3" then clicked on "Change All" to make it the default app. This worked on my initial install of Mavericks but after doing some updates, the system will no longer obey the "change all" and insists on opening new pages files with 5.1. I've even tried changing the name of the app, but OSX is not so easily fooled and still opens the doc with the renamed app.

Bury it a couple of folders down in Applications or simply archive (zip) it.

How do I disable automatic reload of web pages when forced quit is uaed?

I ran across a web site that was part of a scam. It pretended to be one of the security programs on my computer and reported that my Computer had malware (it was the malware). The only way out and not activate the scam program was to use the Windows Task Manager to kill Firefox.
When you do this the next time Firefox is started it tries to reload the last pages visited including the bad web site. How do I disable this feature? Or force Firefox to ask me which pages to load every time.
Automatic should not be allowed because of these scams. Fortunately I had a work around, I pulled the network cable when I restarted Firefox causing a different failure that could be cleared.

Set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes] to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.
That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen the other tabs.

First create a attribute with the name readonly of type wdy_boolean and bind it read_only property of input field of which is you want to enable or disable.
Next go to Init method.
Set the readonly value as 'X'.

     DATA lv_visible TYPE wd_this->element_context-visible.

What is the pop-up page and how do you disable it?

When I read through documents in Acrobat XI, a small, miniature version of the page pops up on the upper right hand corner. It is surrounded by a dark gray border with a white box inside that shows me where I am on the page, and the message "page X of Y" appearing at the bottom. What is this? I searched the manual (the Help and Tutorials document) in vain to find out what this is, I've Googled it, Bing'ed it. No dice. Hovering my cursor over the image does not reveal anything either. What in the heck is this thing called, and how do I disable it? It is very distracting and not very useful.

I am aware that you can turn it off by clicking on the "x" (which is barely visible). However, this is only temporary. When I scroll down to the next page, the box pops up again. So I have to click if off on every page. What I am looking for is a way to completely disable this function so I don't have to deal with it to begin with. Thoughts?
