With recent update I've lost access to my top sites--how get it back?

There used to be a blue symbol at the top of the page (to me it looked like an anvil), click on it and my top sites appeared.
Now, no anvil; nothing I can identify as an access to my top sites.
Top sites are all I have to find things; bookmarks don't work---I click on add a bookmark and when I try to go to it I'm told I don't have any bookmarks.

Was it the Most Visited folder on your Bookmarks Toolbar (see attached)?
One possibility is that your Bookmarks Toolbar is not displaying, or that your items from the bar have moved somewhere else, or that the blue search folder somehow got deleted.
Let's start by making sure the bar is displayed. You can turn it on and off here:
Alt+v (opens classic View menu) > Toolbars > Bookmarks Toolbar
If it isn't on the bar, let's check whether it was moved. Use Ctrl+Shift+b (or Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) to open the Bookmarks Organizer (AKA the Library dialog).
Can you find the Most Visited folder anywhere under All Bookmarks? If so, you could drag it to the Bookmarks Toolbar.
If it's already listed as being on the Bookmarks Toolbar, hmmm, your toolbar items might have been moved to another bar. Let's see whether we can find them.
Alt+v (opens classic View menu) > Toolbars > Customize
Scan your toolbars and the dialog of available items for "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" and, if you see it somewhere other than the Bookmarks Toolbar, drag it back to where it normally lives.
Any luck yet?

I can not find any file with that name. I have ver 5 and i also looked for simular files with adapted names to ver 5.
I have spent 2 days now trying to find the serial for my purchased lightroom.
I have:
- Tryed to use the register function in the program that showes its approved serial with asterisks, but nothing came up in Adobes "my pages”
I have done this several times.
- Try to get in contact with adobes so call customer service in england (or where it is). I listend to music for 1 hour with no contact. I wasent even informed about anything. No que number, no estimated time, nothing !
- I have tryed to join several forum without being able to solve the problem
- I looked up Adobes phone number here in sweden, a company with several employees. They have an answering service that block customers like me to speek with a person. The only thing they can do is to direct to the english ”non service” where you have to wait for hours without getting any information at all.

Buy a second lightroom ?
Write a letter and go to a postoffice?
Take a sleeping bag and park outside the Adobe office till someone there at least notice i need help?
Call the police or the consumer rights representative?
Its very easy to test, purchase and pay direct to Adobe, but after that there it no interest from them …..
I have to learn this lesson now and give up this, I will try to spread out my experiences to other, so much i can, because i think this is a very greedy and unfair customer policy !

HT201272 I have purchased several Audiobooks and with the updates I have lost them but when I look they are coming up that there was no audiobooks purchased. I miss my audiobooks

With my updates i have lost all of my Audio books that I have purchased and when I look it up it doesnt come up that I purchased any. They were all purchased from iTunes. I had about 16 Audiobooks.
How can I get them back

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store - I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them that are requiring the one-time only download. Do you have copies of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library or on your backup of your downloads ? If not, and if they are still in the store, then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download : : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If you haven't got copies of them on your computer and Apple let you redownload them then take a backup copy of them and anything else that you've downloaded from the store - even with apps, ibooks, music etc there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store for future re-downloading (content providers occasionally remove their items from the store).

Still Here is what it takes you to get what you want .
Firstly , your iPhone by default comes with preset of 16-18 Apps in your Homescreen (including Dock)
Make sure your apps are installed either directly from the app store in your phone or through iTunes in your Mac or PC
once they are installed you can notice them by swiping the homescreens.
Long press the app icon , you can notice they all would be in "jiggle" mode
Drag them and place them in your home screen

Reboot your router. You by chance dont have a netgear N300 WNR2000 router do you? I had one of those and would lose wifi on it constantly, Switched to a Cisco wifi router and it works much better.

I am not having that issue. Try a hard reset on the phone. Hold down the power button and the home button at the ame time until you see the apple logo

Restore them from your most recent backup, and/or re-sync via iTunes.

I have the exact same question. I have the serial number too. I called Adobe help line, and they had a "technician" go into my computer and I thought he was going to reinstall. He just showed me why the computer runs slow and why it didn't reinstall, and then told me if I still wanted his help it would be $300-$400. !! i thought it was a help line.... how does that help? I didn't pay that much for the program!!

If you purchased the apps from the Mac App Store, log into the Mac App Store, go to Purchases and redownload them. If you didn't and you have the CD/DVD of iLife you can reinstall the apps from there.
If you have a Time Machine backup or clone of your previous OS X install, you can use the Migration Assistant to copy over your apps.

Problem with recent update (1.6.0_19-b04)

Since the recent update to the Java installation (yesterday morning), my application started having problems when trying to unmarshall (JAXB) a XML file I'm using, and now I get the following exception:

It also broke my application which is using JAXB
The way JAXB behaved before is if you for example have a field of type int, and an invalid int value in input file, JAXB would invoke a setter with a value of 0, and now it will throw an exception it would of course stop processing of whole file.
Interestingly, with type of Integer, old behavior if still kept - (setter is invoked with a null value in case of invalid input)

PROBLEM WITH RECENT UPDATE TRIGGERING IPADS STUCK IN RECOVERY MODE PROBLEM

I am wondering how many other ipad owners are having a problem getting their device out of the recovery mode after the recent update? I have been in contact with the Apple Express service and been assisted in taking my ipad through the restore process 3 times, and it hasn't worked.
The last advisor told me that if that last restore process did not work it meant my ipad would need to be shipped off for service. I have noticed a number of others posting about this problem in the last week, however. Is there an anticipated fix for this issue? Or, do we all need to send our devices in?
I feel I have received cheerful customer service from some very patient Apple reps, but see any solutions for the problem being offered. In addition to the inconvenience of shipping my ipad for repair, I am also concerned about my AT&T unlimited data/flat rate subscription being lost in the process. Has anyone resolved this problem, and was it through an offsite repair job?

I bought a refurb ipad 32gb. I have noticed when itunes via wifi fails to do an app update, it screws the whole ios; thereby forcing ipad to go into recovery mode. I thought Apple learned the hard way not to allow one app to bring down the whole os!! This is the 5th time an app caused this. last time Apple forced me to reinstall Itunes, wasted 2 hrs.
I worked hard saving up enough funds to get an iPad. Yes, i even paid Applecare too. If this can be fixed, I want a replacement or a full refund.

Has anyone noticed a decrease in AME speed with recent updates?

Hi everybody,
I have been searching the forums for estimated times of exports/imports/etc... with AME using AVCHD footage and exporting to H.264, MPEG 4 and Quicktime and general slow-downs in Adobe Media Encoder.
It seems as though my rendering has gotten slower and slower over the last two months and the only thing that I am aware which has changed is updates to the software, which doesn't really make sense.
I use a Dell Precision M6400 with 8 GBs of RAM, Vista 64 bit, Quad Core Extreme Q9300 @2.53ghz and Adobe CS4 Master Collection which I upgraded to from CS 2 in Jan 2009.
I love CS4 overall, AME is the only program which slightly irks me simply because it seems that the renders can go unbearably slow at time for no obvious reason.
Right now I am trying to render out a 20 minutes AVCHD 60i anamorphic project that has about 400 clips ranging between 30 seconds and two minutes to MPEG 2 DVD and it takes about 20 minutes to load in AME and almost 5 hours to render.
I took a simpler sequence of 3 minutes with Magic Bullet looks applied to it and rendered to 360x240 H.264 file and it took almost 2 hours to render...that can't be right!
I don't remember it being this slow before? Am I wrong? Is that expected?
What I'd really appreciate is if someone has some benchmarks that I can render out to, to see if I am experiencing an actual slow render or it just is the length of time expected.
I am hoping that CS5 is released next month and then I am going to do a full wipedown of my computer and install Windows 7 64 bit and the CS 5 suite, but until then I am trying to keep "old betsy" running and making money so I can afford to do so.
I have all recent updates as of today.
Any suggestions?

Your information is sketchy and meanders. You may have several issues but with the lack of information it's going to be 20 questions. So how were you downloading the update? Software Update or direct from Apple web site? Today's issues need more clarification.
