With the new version, my dropdowns aren't working and have lost the ability to print documents. I have to use internet explorer to get everything I need.

Having trouble printing documents and using the dropdown features in different software applications.

Firefox 16.0.2 is the last version that works on an Intel Mac with the OS X 10.5 operating system.

Another possibility is to install the Firefox 10.0.12esr (BuildID=20130103094221) version that has more security updates, but misses features present in Firefox 16 (BuildID=20121024073032).

  • Why am I unable to access my new Post Office Account they state that you will not allow and I will have to use Internet Explorer why?

I have just opened a new account with the Post Office but I am unable to access this on the net. Telephoned Customer Services but say that I will not be able to access through Firefox and will have to use Internet Explorer. Going back to Internet Explorer is not something I want to do because I like Firefox, please explain why Firefox is blocking access if this is true. I have clicked 'allow' but it made no difference and the only message coming up is "timed-out" when I have been much less than 5 mins putting security details. Please advise. Paula

I doubt if Firefox is blocking access. More than likely, that website is made to use ActiveX, or other proprietary Microsoft code, that only Internet Explorer can handle.
If you post the address of that "Post Office" website, maybe one of us support helpers can figure out the exact reason for that.

  • When I open a document in Firefox with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to print it (no problem when using Internet Explorer)

I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit), using Firefox 8.0. When I open a document with Adobe Reader 9, I am unable to do anything with it (print, save, etc.) other than view it. When I use Internet Explorer I don't have this problem.

Not sure what you mean by truncated troubleshooting report, but here's what I copied from "troubleshooting" under "help". My printer is selected as the default printer in Devices and Printers. Also, remember that a document that won't print in Firefox prints fine in Internet Explorer.

  • Can't open AOL Mail with Firefox, but can open AOL website. Have to use Internet Exp. to get into mail. Help!

Have always been able to get into AOL Mail, until recently; last 2 - 3 days. Can get into AOL website, just not mail. No problem with any other websites. Have to get to mail using Internet Explorer, and I hate Internet Exp. What has happened and how do I fix it? I tried reloading Mozilla Firefox, but that did not help.

Hi--I tried your suggestion and no dice. A window came up with the following:The item 'Firefox.exe' that has this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete?
Another window said 'C:Program files (x86) Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe' specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.
I have no clue as to what that means. I did delete the shortcut.
Finally went into our Kaspersky virus protection and found Firefox is in quarantine and that is probably why I am unable to uninstall and reinstall.
    Any ideas????
    Thanks, Ginny

  • New version of itunes didnt install correctly and i lost all my songs

anyone know what to do if your computer doesnt finish installing itunes completley and youve lost all of your songs?

    Hello ry-z,
The following article should be helpful in restoring your content to iTunes.

  • When i try to restart firefox after i have closed it i get a message that firefox is still running Have to restart pc most of the time. Is a big wast of time.So have been using internet explorer most of the time

I must close firefox to run a program called c cleaner to remove unused items the browser saves on the computer . In order to clean up items on firefox i must shut firefox down then have the problem when i try to restart firefox after the the unused items are removed as the pc thinks firefox is still running. Have to reboot to start firefox. Other browsers are normal with no problems

I have sometimes seen Firefox give such a message, and do not know the reason for this. As you mention Internet Explorer I assume you are using a Windows machine.
Try using task manager to stop the firefox program.
Shortcut keys [Ctrl][alt][del] in XP, all pressed together will get task manager.
Another method is in Start -> Run keying in the command "Taskmgr" and hit Return
Once TaskManager is showing click the process tab and look for "firefox.exe", right click on it and use "end process" that should stop Firefox without you needing to restart the computer.
I am not sure why you need to use'' "c cleaner to remove unused items the browser saves on the computer "''
Tools -> clear recent history, may help

  • Opened up Firefox this morning and can't open a single website....have to use Internet Explorer (oh the shame). I tried reinstalling firefox and restarting my computer. Don't know what else to do or why I can't get any internet on Firefox.

    Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.facebook.com.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

It is always a good idea to back up your bookmarks, if you are able to do that now it may help, and if you are considering using them in an alternative browser it may be a good idea to back them up as HTML as well as the default .json files.
    * see [[Backing up and restoring bookmarks]]
Have you read the articles shown in my first message above with the blue clickable links. One of the first things to try is using Firefox in firefox [[safe mode]] which should be available from your program list, BUT when trying that on the first dialogue do not make changes just click on continue.
    *Does that work ?
    * did you see the list of options and click on the continue button ?
    * are you seeing any error messages ?

  • The body of my yahoo e-mails are not displaying, and this is happening on two computers, but not when I use Internet Explorer.

Yahoo says it's a browser-related problem. It's happening on two different computers.

Thanks, but that was the first thing I tried with the Yahoo help line person, and it didn't work. I think it's significant that it's happening on two different computers, my desktop and my netbook. It doesn't happen with Internet Explorer on either computer. Just now I had trouble getting the e-mail text to come up using Foxfire, so I tried going to the Sent folder and trying to bring up one of those files, but it didn't come up either. Then I tried another file from the Sent folder and it came up, so then I went back to the Inbox folder and the e-mail I was trying to open appeared in full.

  • HT4061 I have 2 Internet sites that I use with my job. When I try to log in using my iPad it tells me that I have to use Internet explorer. Is there a way to do this?

I have 2 Internet programs that I am trying to access from my iPad and they say I have to access through Internet explorer??  What do I do?

Internet Explorer does not exist for the iPad. Obviously Safari will not work. There are other browsers available that can identify as Internet Explorer and one of those might work for you. However, there is really no way to know unless you try one of those browsers.
iCab Mobile and Atomic will identify as IE, so you could try one of those.

  • Iphoto stopped working for me so i dowloaded the new version of it for my mac and i lost all of my pictures

iPhoto would never open up for me when i tried to use it. it would always say that it is unable to work. so i went to the app store and saw that it needed to be updated so i did that. once i opened the new app all of my photos are no where to be found.

once i opened the new app all of my photos are no where to be found.
What was your previous iPhoto version?   Did iPhoto prompt you to upgrade the iPhoto Library or did you get any error messages?
And where was your iPhoto library stored? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive?

  • How come I could print coupons with previous versions of firefox such as versions 2 and 3 and I can't with the current version? It is frustrating because every time I want to print a coupon I to use internet explorer.

    none.

Are you sure that Firefox gets the plugins from the ~/.mozilla/plugins directory and not from another location.
Did you try to place the symlink in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins ?
See [[Troubleshooting plugins]] on how to see the path of all plugins.

  • I had apower surge and blew out my modem. Bought a new modem / router, and now I can not download PDF files. If I use internet explorer I can download them. Not with Firefox, I'm using Firefox 5.0

Everything else works fine. I've tried with 3 different modems. I was told it wasn't the modem. Something else is preventing The PDF file from loading.I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled, checked all the settings. I can't find anything wrong. • When I go to a website, I get a menu of the website (a list down the left-hand side of the page) rather than the home page itself. Using internet explorer, I get to the home page. Why not on Firefox? It just started happening recently

I updated firefox a couple weeks ago, but updating has never caused this problem.
I installed a program to help the computer run more efficiently, called "Fix-it Essentials," and that may have caused the problem, though it didn't for the first couple weeks I used it.
So I still can't get to the homepage of many websites and navigate as I want to.

Simple really. The first 3 articles have steps in them, but not in this order.
#First, with Firefox closed, remove the toolbars from Windows ''Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs''. After the window populates, look for the Toolbars; if there, click on them and click on the button to the right of it that says "Remove". Then restart your system ''Start > Shut down > Restart''
    #*Article --> http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_toolbars#Uninstalling_via_Windows_Control_Panel
#Second, start Firefox and check in Firefox Add-ons: '''''Add-ons > Extensions'''''. Look for Yahoo Toolbar or Babylon and try to remove by clicking "Remove" or "Disable".
    #*Article --> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons <u>and</u> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cannot%20uninstall%20an%20add-on
#Restart Firefox by exiting (''Firefox button > Exit'' or ''File > Exit''), wait a few seconds (10-30), then click the Firefox desktop icon to start Firefox and test to see if the problem is resolved.
The last 3 articles are for other steps to take if the above does not work to solve your problem.

  • Firefox 3.6.12 is my default browser but I have to use Internet Explorer 8 to get on to the Internet first. Can you help?

My laptop is Acer Aspire 5101 running Windows XP. I also find Firefox "freezes" and I have no alternative but to switch off computer. Then I find "firefox.exe not responding" and Windows has to "end program".

hello, normally such connection issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions: [[Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox]]

  • Why don't I see the 'Emoticons' and 'Format' tabs when composing a message in the new Yahoo Mail, using Firefox, but I do when using Internet Explorer?

I have been using the new Yahoo Mail on Firefox. But today I noticed that when I write an email (Compose/Reply/Forward), I cannot format it. Only the 'Attachments' tab is present, but the 'Emoticons' and 'Format' tabs are not.
But when I do it using Internet Explorer, all those tabs are present and I can format and do whatever.
Is there something wrong with my Firefox? I have restarted my computer, I have shut it down, but my Yahoo Mail remains problematic when using Firefox.

Firefox only allows you to save executable files. If you want to add an option to run them you can use the OpenDownload² add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/opendownload-10902
