It would be really useful to have one, readily accessible place to find out what was the update, what did it do and where do I find the release notes/help files for this new stuff.
Just did a "July" update to CC, I did briefly glance at the info before updating, it's useful and points to help updates, articles, etc.
So I went back today when I had time to review the updates more fully. How do I invoke a simple, central summary of updates with pointers to the new info.
I have tried the download pages, online help, etc.
I am confused and any help would be appreciated.

Click on the Cloud app, there is a little cog wheel with a menu drop down, select "view your updates & requests"
If you have any they will all will be listed here.

As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case) then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc. It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.

ID on the Mac can produce reports that may (or may not) prove helpful in diagnosing the problem. I suspect this is something not directly related to InDesign, and maybe not to any of the Adobe apps directly since you seem to be having a problem in more than one. That often inidcates a problem at the system level.
Nevertheless, it won't hurt to try to gather the reports. You'll find driections for how to generate them, and to post them on Pastebin.com (then put a link to them here) so we can see what's going on at Adobe Forums: InDesign CS5.5 Not Responding

1) You need to have the paid upgrade installed.
2) You need to paste the lyrics into the lyrics tab of a song/album.
3) You need to re-sync the Touch.
4) When playing music, you click on the album cover (in portrait mode only) and the lyrics will superimpose on the screen.

It just reboots the device and bolds the system fonts. No harm done. If you don't like it, undo the setting, it will reboot and back to as it was.

It depends on how much you use it. If the battery runs down and you are not using the phone then there's an app that is running away uncontrollably. If you mean the iMac does not have an internal optical drive capable of reading DVDs, the only option requires another Mac with a DVD-capable drive and FireWire ports. Your iMac G3 will also require FireWire ports. Not all G3 iMacs have Firewire. FW started with the Summer 2000 models with 400mHz and faster processors.
With FireWire, you can use FireWire Target Disk mode to install from a retail OS install DVD in another Mac. If you supplemental info info tells us if you have another Mac with a DVD reader and the FW ports, we can walk you through the process.
If the iMac has a tray-loading drive, I'd forget it. They are very limited not only in the OS max (10.3.9) but also in RAM capability. Starting with the slot-loading iMac G3s, the max RAM increased to 1 GB (2 X 512MB modlules). Tiger likes 1GB RAM.
Understand that pre-Intel Macs are getting harder to use. Even with 10.4.11, your choice of browsers is limited (TenFourFox is the most viable option) and the G3s rudimentary video hardware means web browsing will be choppy at best.
If you are in the USA, you can try calling the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE) for an OS disk. As recently as Jan 20, someone posted here that they were able to buy Tiger by calling. It was not clear whether the disks were replacement system install/restore disks or full retail install, but it's a free call.
When you do "About this Mac" to check teh OS verion, also look at the processor speed and tell us what that says. That can help with recommendations for an upgrade path.

Problem solved. The music was from Amazon MP3 store and I had to re-download it from the Amazon Cloud Player to my hard drive. It was there, but not even the Amazon Cloud Player software would play it from my PC, though it would from the Cloud. So after the re-download, I was able to add it to my iTunes Library.

That's because her phone is recognized in the Apple database as an iPhone. It should eventually convert to SMS but that's above my level of expertise here so hopefully someone else can come along and help you further. She could just turn on iMessage and solve the problem. Ha!
