With the upgrade to the new IOS 7, I can't figure out to close aps running in the background. Because of this my battery life is being agffected. Can anyone tell me how to close aps?

Double tap the home button and find the app you want to close. Swipe up or drag up on the app thumbnail to close it. Not the icon, the app preview thumbnail above the icon, drag up on that.

If the already running VIs are clones of the same basic VI, open and run with the option "Prepare to call and forget", how can I find out the names and index of each clone?I had an application where I spawned (= ran with Start Asynchronous Call) multiple (reentrant) copies of VIs, and would occasionally "lose control" of them. I needed a way to find all VIs that were running "Top Level" and stop them (so I didn't have to log off from Windows).
I used the Application Property "All VIs in Memory" to get an array of (wait for it ...) All VIs in Memory. I took each name, opened a VI reference to it (simply wire the name string in, as the VI is, by definition, "in memory"), looked at its VI Execution State, and if it was Run Top Level, Invoked the FP.Close and Abort VI Methods. [To prevent the VI that did all this from "committing Suicide", I compared the name string with the current Call Chain, and did nothing if there was a match].
I think you could adopt this idea to do what you need.

I figured I will share this information with everyone save you all the waste of time I went through .
So my sound is low on the TV but I am using my TV remote and the Fios remote and I can't raise the volume. But when I turn the TV off and on . I can see for a second the volume on low on the top right corner. I tried everything to raise the volume. So I called the hotline and Google this issue lots of dead ends.. I got an AWESOME person on the TV support for Verizon FIOS here is the fix
Go to your FIOS remote
Hit Menu
Hit Settings
Hit Audio
Then go to Volume Control make sure its says Variable not fixed ( fixed is if you want to make sure your kids can never blast Dora past a certain volume )
Then click ok go to the Set-top Box Volume
Then to raise the volume use the UP and DOWN keys near the OK key. That's right the vol + or - doesn't work yet.
I would do this raise it to the max then ok out till you are out of the menus.
Then try the volume on the remote the + / - will work.They are usually intended for mobile devices like iPhones, iPad's (and Kindle's) ... you need the Apple iBook app to read them.
Google for Stanza or eReader and it should do what you want. -

I upgraded to the new IOS, but lost data and apps. When I try and restore the only backup I see is the one it made AFTER the lost data. How can I access an older backup from the cloud?
Why don't you talk to apple and find out if backup exists? That conversation with apple will stop your guessing.

Who can shed some light on my ongoing connection problem.
After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
Ideas anyone ?Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work. Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

After I synced my iphone (4S with ios 8.1.2) using itunes with MS outlook on my new PC , suddenly all my contacts without telephone number and what I have the name of the contact only ?
I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again. -
I uploaded that new IOS 8.0 and now I cannot open my mail, Safari, or the new "TIPS" app. Does Apple have some sort of help, other than going to a store that is over 40 miles away?

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -
I recently upgraded to iOS 8. Looks like the pics I had in my messages are no longer appearing as pictures, rather they are appearing as JPEG files (not broken jpegs). I need to get these pics. Can't figure out how to do it. I'm on an iPhone 5C.
I've tried resetting my phone, looking for the pics in the new 'deleted' folder. I tried forwarding the jpegs to sees if they'll appear in a new message (but turnout the phone won't let me forward these pics). Apple is trying to say it's the 30 day reason, but I know that is not the problem. ALl of my pics older than 30 days were viewable. It is the upgrade that screwed this up. Help! As for iPhoto, it sounds like you were trying to move files around in the library. That is a bib no-no in Aperture or iPhoto. -
tonight i have upgraded my Ipad2 to ios 6 by it's own wifi,after compete downloading and installation the wifi password is not accepted by ipad2,i have tested so many times and i entered password correctly.please help
are other things still connecting to the wifi without a problem?
Have you tried resetting network settings, then unplugging modem and router from power for 40 seconds then plugging back in letting the lights stabilize and Then recconecting with the ipod>? -

The iPhone has a hardware problem - with the battery or something else.
The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If purchased new in October of 2012, it remains under warranty. Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
