With ver 7, my Navigation toolbar is missing. Nothing I've tried brings it back.

Navigation toobar is checked. Default checked. Navigation toolbar remains missing. Where the devil is it?

Is the Navigation Toolbar displaying? 
Are the other items showing on the Navigation Toolbar (i.e., Back/Forward, Home, Search Bar, etc.)?
Have you tried to locate it in the Customize window and drag it back to the Navigation Toolbar?

Standard Navigation Toolbar Items Missing

Just changed my Windows XP PC on which I have been running Firefox for years, for a new PC with Windows 7 Pro.
Installed Firefox on the new PCbut the Navigation Tool Bar looks different (dull grey instead of light) & 'Reload, Stop Reload etc. items are missing.
Tried everthing from the 'Help' menu but can't cure it

Starting in Firefox 4, the Go, Stop and Reload buttons are combined in one button at the right end of the URL or Address bar. The button changes depending on the activity:

Navigation toolbar is missing scroll feature since updating to 8.0.1 Please help.

I have read through the forums and learned quite a bit about customizing ff.I need an answer to this small yet annoying issue of the missing scroll on my navigation toolbar,drop-down.

Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":
* Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Why does my navigation toolbar reset even thought I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestions?

Navigation toolbar resets no matter what I try.

Actually, as I had stated, I tried all the suggestions in your troubleshooting
section already. However, I got to playing around some and discovered that
when I disabled a new addon called "Slash Unblocker" the problem was
cleared up.

When I updated Firefox, my forward & reverse arrows from my Navigation toolbar disappeared. Why, & how do I get them back?? I really do rely on them!

Firefox is really the only system I've ever used, && it has ALWAYS had the navigational arrows up in the upper left-hand corner of the toolbar area. I use the reverse arrow ALL THE TIME!! and am really frustrated by not having this tool to use. I'm NOT a strong computer-user, so these features that make using one easier are really important to me. Please, please, please, please, please HELP me with this!!!! I have tried all of the suggestions given so far, to no avail.... Thanks ever so much....

Firefox 29 locks the Back button (and, if applicable, the Forward button) to the left end of the address bar. Can you find it there?
By the way, the keyboard shortcut for Back is Alt+left arrow. This works in a variety of contexts where you follow links (for example, within MS Word documents).

Will not open up with the home page I have specifed on navigator toolbar I have gone through all the settings but it reverts to another home page when I restart the PC

I want my page to open up with google which it has until lately when I downloaded jzip and since then it always opens up with http://search.jzip.com/ instead of http://www.google.com.au/ When it comes up with jzip I change it to google and request it to be my home page and it stays that way till I restart the pc and it reverts back to izip and I have to go through the same process to change back to google, it never used to do this at times when I have down loaded information it has changed but I have always been able to revert to the correct home page and it stay that way but not any more.
The jzip is in the navigator toolbar section as are other websites but this is the only one that keeps being used as the home page hope you can find a solution as it is very annoying.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for jzip via the Filter at the top of the about:config page. 
You can reset all jzip related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.

Missing Main/Navigator Toolbar JDEV 904

I would like to know how to reset the look and feel of the Main/Navigator toolbars within JDEV 904. When I select View -> Toolbars - the toolbar is displayed, but only as a bar of one pixel height :(
I have tried to resize/drag n drop/open/close/minimise/maximise this "single pixel bar" - but with no success.
Can someone provide me some pointers on resetting the JDEV gui environment please.

Hi Miles,
This is a known issue with JDeveloper 9.0.5 or earlier when you've terminated JDeveloper forcibly (e.g. killed the process by ctrl-c, task manager or a forced shutdown in Windows) while it's exiting. The cause of the problem is that the ide.properties file in your system directory has been corrupted.
To resolve it, copy ${jdev.home}/jdev/multi/system/ide.properties to ${jdev.home}/jdev/system9.0.4.x.x/
This issue is resolved in 10.1.3 (toolbar items are defined in extension manifests, which not written during termination of the ide).

Navigation and bookmark toolbars are missing

The navigation and bookmark toolbars are missing. They are checked in toolbars menu, when I try to customize a toolbar and drag a item onto the toolbar, it disappears. I clicked on reset the default configuration, nothing has changed. I tried starting safe mode and resetting the toolbars, didn't help. I tried re-installing firefox, didn't help. Any ideas?

Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Open Containing folder
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

The search function is missing from my navigation toolbar

I have the navigation toolbar checked under the View menu. It shows the regular stuff but to the right of the URL site name it shows a Wikipedia search function. I don't know where that came from but I want my general search function back.

There are two ways I'm aware of where toolbar icons disappear.
One is where you make the window narrower (icons drop off as the window gets too narrow to display them).
If that's not it then it sounds like the toolbar has been customized to remove it. In that case just use View -> Customize Toolbar... and drag whatever icons you like back into the toolbar (or drag off icons you no longer want).

There it is not the Navigation Toolbar and there isnt any section of "view" where I can pu them back.I Give a screenshot if its need.

How do I replace bookmark bar that was lost when a new Mozilla Fox Start page suddenly appeared with a Zone Alarm Community Toolbar, and nothing I have so far tried, working with "Show all Bookmarks", works ("Unable to process the backup file).

My current version is 6.0.2. A box appeared a few days ago informing me of an update to 7 (x?). I declined for the time being.
Then a Start Page just showed up missing the bookmark tool bar. I tried to import a bar from another browser. Nothing showed up. Then, I went to "Help". First, I clicked on "About Firefox" where I was informed of an update. This time, I tried it. When I clicked on "Apply Update", I received a message; 'Update could not be installed" despite there being no other Firefox browsers running.
I went back to "Help" and clicked on "Firefox Help". A page came up with the URL in place, but the page would not load ("Cannot find server at support.mozilla.com"). After several clicks on "Try Again" with the same result, I copied the URL and pasted it into a different browser, from which I am now working.
Before sending this question, I tried the two procedures ("Manual Backup" and "Restoring From Backup") found on Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks/Import And Backup/Restore, using both "stored backups" from Mozilla's Profile folder and "Choose a file", as well as Bookmarks/Show ... /Backup. In each case, the response was, "Unable to process the backup file".
I had previously tried another method I found on Google which involved copying and saving a Mozilla backup file (this is the file I used in the procedure above - "Choose a File") found in the C:/Documents And Settings/.../Profile Folder, then renaming the original file "backup.HTML" and saving it in a folder one level up from its original location. The Bookmark bar was to show up after shutting down and reopening Mozilla - it never happened. I replaced the original backup file.
It occurred to me to locate the Bookmark File for this browser (Chrome) and using it in the "Choose a File" method, referred to above. But there is no extension included in the file name, and I was afraid to try it.
I'm out of ideas. Is there something else to try?

Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
* Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button
