  • With which iPad cables can a keynote presentation be played on a projector with?

I need to know which apple cable to buy so that I can present a keynote presentation from the iPad onto a projector. Does it work with VGA, composite, or component. I have the iPad 1.

I have tried the composite and works fine. The iPad will show a secondary screen during the slide show when the cable is conected, you will notice the play icon will change. I have tried it with two different projectors and one TV.

  • Which MSI AMD3+ mobo supports 16gb per dimm slot?

I realized I have two sticks of 16gb memory in my 760GM-p21 MOBO......of course since the mobo only supports 16 gb, I knew I couldnt see it all....
I was considering changing to a motherboard that would support 32gb, but then found out that Windows Home 64 only allows 16gb (thanks Mizagorn!)....
That said, can anyone tell me which MSI mobos work with the AMD3+ and also allows more than 8 GB per DIMM slot?
    Thanks!

I was tempted to upgrade to Pro just to get access to my additional 16 gb of RAM.....its just sitting in there.....but like I said the motherboard only supports 16gb.....I didnt realize it had that limit at the time I guess........
Not sure if I can upgrade the OS to pro AND swap a motherboard at the same time without major issues????
I do edit video  (Adobe CS6) and would love the extra oomph....
    http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/970_GAMING.html#hero-specification
Up to 32GB DDR3 RAM 8GB per slot.
And if you would like to swap motherboard, then it's rather suggested to reinstall your OS.
If you want more than 32GB RAM then you should look at motherboards like X79 or X99 which can hold up to 128GB of RAM (X99)

  • Can't overclock e8400 on an MSI P7N 780i mobo

I am having great difficulty overclocking my e8400 on my new MSI P7N Diamond motherboard. The same processor with the same RAM overclocked just fine without any voltage bumps on my EVGA 780i motherboard, but for the life of me, I can not figure out how to get this MSI board to do the very same thing. I am trying to get a 3.6ghz overclock going and it worked perfectly on the EVGA board and this processor is widely known to be easily capable of such an overclock, especially since I've done it before. I'm hoping you guys might be able to tell me what I'm doing wrong here. Here are my specs:
    Intel e8400 processor
    MSI P7N Diamond motherboard(Nvidia 780i chipset)
    4 gigs(4x1gig) of corsair xms2 6400c4 ram
    8800gtx x2 in sli
    700watt seasonic PSU
3 SATA hard drives, 1 SATA dvd burner
    Soundblaster extreme audio x-fi soundcard
Now, on my EVGA board, I'm pretty sure I achieved the 3.6ghz overclock by simply bumping the FSB to 1600 in linked mode. I am new to the Intel scene, having been an AMD man forever, so I'm not 100% knowledgeable about such things, but my memory tells me that's what I did. Doing the same thing with this MSI board, though, fully is not working.
Here are some BIOS screenshots of what I THINK should work, but these settings just lead to cold boots. If you guys have any idea why these settings don't work, I'd really love to hear it.

    Pchas,
If by what you mean is being able to run RAM at a 1:1 divider with your FSB, then you are absolutely correct.  When overclocking, this is well known to be the most desirable means in which to run your RAM, as slower RAM can bottleneck performance, while faster RAM  won't result in any realized, every-day-use performance benefit (with a Core 2 system.)  Therefore, a 500mhz FSB (2000mhz rated, quad pumped) would pair best with RAM running at 500mhz (1000mhz DDR2, hence, double data rate.)   However, whether or not the memory is SLI enabled has nothing to do with how fast your RAM can run.
I'm not sure I see the value in finding max FSB by reducing the processor multiplier to its lowest value.  It doesn't reflect any real world usage scenario, and it greatly reduces the amount of stress placed on the FSB, such that you'll be able to bench quite a bit higher than what can be obtained when tuning for an overall overclock. As such, it really doesn't tell you anything useful  about the boards capabilities.  M goal is to see whether or not the board will support a stable 400-450fsb with my Quad running at a full x9 multiplier, hence resulting in a 3.6-4.05ghz quad.  I know that the reference boards have no problem doing this, and I'm hoping the MSI will pull through, if not with the latest BIOS, then with one coming down the road.  Being able to support my overclock while providing a superior power-phase & delivery system would make this the hands down, unqualified best high-end nForce board (680i or 780i) yet released.

  • After installing 1.5 with the msi, can I then zip it up and use it...

After installing 1.5 with the msi, can I then zip it up and use that version on another computer? I've done this successfully already for my needs etc. Just not sure if this was "kosher" etc.
    I've installed Java JRE/JDK 1.5 using:
    jdk-1_5_0_12-windows-i586-p.exe
I installed it on computer A at C:\jdk1.5.0_12. I then zipped it up and ran it successfully on computer B for my Tomcat service needs. It went seamlessly. However, did I over look any risks doing it this way. I did it this way because the MSI prompts a user for a install path. I need it for both the JRE/JDK to use C:\jdk1.5.0_12. Zipping up my installed version prevents that pesky user-error stuff/support tickets due to user error stuff.
Granted, I'd rather have users fill out a support ticket due to a typo then erroneously think I was successful at repackaging Java for our needs etc. Follow?
And therefore, was it ok to zip it up and port it?
Thanks a lot for your time and help. Truly appreciated!
    Jeff

[Java Web Start|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp] *(<- link)* is a better alternative for installing (and updating) Java apps. JWS works on all OS' for which there is a JRE.

Somebody had luck to overclock Q9300 on P7N-SLI Platinum ? please post info

Try with mem settings auto and only adjust Vdimm to vendorspecs.
Did you try BIOS V1.1 from MSI : http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1373
This did solve some memory issues.
If so try, if you can, QVL memory and see if problem persists.
Hope this helps  , good luck and keep us posted
Also be sure that your on manual and not linked, this will give problems too, when fsb divider gets higher then memory divider.
Furthermore, by using non qvl mem, the NB and fsb vtt are very depending on eachother.
I had the same with my board  , the only difference with yours is the cirque pipe cooling and an extra chip for yorkfield support  , but it is do-able

  • I Can Only Overclock With Bios 1.3: How About You?

    Hi,
MSI sent me a new board, the 865PE Neo2-FIS2R. I had two that flashing the bios destroyed the boards. The first I could always get back: the second, I could not. This board is everything the first 2 should have been.
The board came with bios version 1.5. Everything worked fine except that the board wouldn't allow me to overclock at a 5/4 divider. I, in turn, flashed to 1.7, 1.7B1, and back to 1.3. Bios version 1.3 is the only bios I can successfully overclock using a memory divider other than 1/1. I can overclock at 1/1 to 225 or so with 1.7, but only at 1/1.
I did notice that the memory issues seem to be gone. Only with 1.3 do I have to take out the Corsair Ram and put in the Samsung PC2700 to get it to boot. This is a minor inconvenience. Also, Insert Key will reset the CPU to default settings. Cool.
Anyway, are any of you able to use a memory divider other than 1/1 with later bios'?
    Mark

Memory speed is clocked off the same clock the FSB is clocked. When you set memory clock speed you are setting the 'nominal' speed when the FSB is at 200.
Taking into account dual channel and quad pumping you get 1:1 ratio with FSB 200 and Memory 400. Increase FSB to 250, memory actually runs at 500.
Setting the memory to 333 actually runs it at 320 on a 200 FSB (hence 5:4 ratio). So with FSB at 250 the memory clocks at 400.

  • Hp p6230it with a MSI MS-7613 (Indio) can i use a Nvidia Gtx750ti ?Bios problems?

    Hello,
I have an Hp Pavillion p6230it with a MSI MS-7613 (Indio) motherboard, the stock GPU is gone, continues to blackscreen and goes over 100 degrees. I love this product and wish to do an upgrade with a CoolerMaster power supply(600w) and a a Nvidia GTX750TI but I'm worried about compatibility and bios issues( a friend tried this on a different HP desktop and he got to replace the motherboard).Called HP italy to have infos and they told me that they cannot say anything to help me...anyone can help me here?Thank you so much

The power supply unit (PSU) should work fine.  However, the video card may cause you problems.  I believe that all of the GTX 750 ti cards require UEFI in the motherboard, instead of the standard BIOS.  I suggest deciding which manufacturer's video card you want to buy and contacting their Tech Support to assure that it will work in your computer.  This is the best way to save yourself problems.  They will need the Specifications of your computer.

  • Overclocking question on a K9N6PGM-F MSI mobo.

I have a budget computer with a K9N6PGM-F motherboard, a amd X2 athlon processor 4000+ Brisbane socket am2, and one single stick of super talent 1GB of ram running at PS25300. Since the mobo is dual channel capable and cpu-Z says the ram is running at a disappointing 301 MHZ with a frequency divider of cpu 2.1 GHZ/7, some potential advantage might be suggested by using a matched pair of PS2 6400 ram. Since my OS is win XP pro 32 bit, 2gigs of total memory may be the max.
And since the CPU is running a the stock speed of 2.1 GHZ and might be capable of up to 3.1 GHZ, could a much milder overclock be advantageous by a combination of memory and a milder overclock. Ideally I could achieve dual channel with the purchase another equally specified super talent stick, but two new  matched pair sticks may be more certain.
Sadly my motherboard manual tells me very little on what my options are. And anyone who has experience with this board and can give me step by step recommendations would be especially prized. Even getting to 2.4 GHZ and dual channel would thrill me.

It's a budged board, so I'm not all that sure if it will have HTT and CPU VCore options.
The difference between single channel and dual channel are only visible in synthetic benchmarking.  In real world tests the difference is 1-5%.  If you want to buy another stick, buy it for another GB, not enabling dual channel - you'll be thoroughly disappointed.
That said, a 32-bit operating system has 4GBs of address space; this includes PCI registers, VGA memory, etc.  The total amount dedicated to DRAM varies from system to system, and configuration to configuration.  You could get 2.5 GBs or 3.5 GBs even.

Mini works accessing MBP/Air and I can use Mini to input data or interact with screens of those computers.

Regarding your first question about bookmarks, I think you discovered the answer in when you pressed the address bar. The second tab there has your bookmarks.
As for the keyboard, I'm not sure why your Firefox is reacting so slowly; mine seems to show keyboards even when I don't want them. If you have accumulated a lot of history, perhaps that's an issue?
Did you use any third party software to move your Firefox data from internal memory to the storage card?

Stop using one. Everything you've previously purchased from it has that Apple ID stored inside the file, which can't be changed.

  • With different dual monitors can you choose which image to print

I have dual monitors which I calibrate but they still look different. I have lightroom on the main screen with a full loupe view on monitor 2, I would like to print this image (on monitor 2 ) as its easier to see the changes during develop because its bigger. Is this possible or does lightroom only print the image either on the main screen or in the main lightroom module

You are only previewing through the monitor profile. It does nothing else in the chain to Print. There's no conversion done between monitor profiles and printer profile, just Lightroom's internal working profile and the printer profile. Photoshop converts between the working profile and the printer profile, again the monitor profile is only applied to what you see on the screen. The actual process of colour matching can never be 100% exact, but can get close under ideal viewing conditions. The screen emits light, whereas the print must be lit, and takes on the colour of the light in the environment. High end printers will viewing stations with with which to determine print accuracy.. a luxury most of us won't.
In more simpler terms, make the print. Compare it to the monitors under good daylight and gauge from there which is closest to the print.
