Without updating any plugins, how do I prevent, remove or disable the requirement to "Click to Activate Plugins?"
I want to reverse, undo, prevent, disable or even remove the following (see link below), WITHOUT having to change versions, or update actual plugins:

I repeat, WITHOUT having to change my Firefox version, change the plugin version, or UPDATE versions on either.
I want Firefox to quit bugging me about having to ACTIVATE a DEACTIVATED plugin.
I DO NOT want to UPDATE VERSIONS of plugins or the browser and I DO NOT want to have to "click to activate plugins."
It seems that Firefox collaborates with plugins to determine if the vendor has put out a new update. If there is a new update, Firefox inconveniences me.
My security is none of your business. You are intruding into personal life of any person using your browser. Your market share is already going down. For me, FF browser is on the borderline, but it looks like the balance is moving to the side of FF being too intrusive. Only few month ago I managed to to block your automatic updates, now you are bugging me with every pdf file I open. Could let me decide if they are dangerous or not?

M…oSoft products aren't allowed on my machines but I use LibreOffice which is a clone of Office.
When I export from Numbers to Excel and open the result with LibreOffice, the dates are correctly treated.
To be precise, dates after 01/01/1904 are correctly treated. dates before 01/01/1904 are exported as strings but, as it's flagged during the export process, it's not surprising.

I have an older Ipod touch with 4.2.1 and cannot be updated any further, how do I install apps on it now? so far every app I have tried says I need an updated IOS. This sounds like I now have an apple product paper weight unless I want to run out and buy the latest and greatest overpriced apple product.

If your iphone is unofficially unlocked/hacked/etc, then it may be locked when you restore/upgrade. -
imessage only displays the phone number instead of the name after the last update. any idea how to fix it? All messages had the names displaying correctly before the last update.

I like my tabs where they are. I have a good memory. If a tab is at the left, I want it to stay at the left. I do not want firefox to move the activated tab around, under any circumstance. Where there's code in the Chrome to make a tab move without the user dragging it, I want an option to prevent this from ever ocurring. Movement of tabs is very disorienting. I am not talking about scrolling. I am talking about when there are 6 tabs open and the rightmost 5 keep changing places without user interaction.You can check the home page setting.

If you do not keep changes the you can check for problems with preferences and try to rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default values.

Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend. -
I found a iPad Mini and would like to return it to the original owner. I believe it was previously stolen and it cannot be activated. Any idea how I can get it back to the original owner?
I am very disappointed (yet I somewhat understand) Apple and how they completely have no interest in helping return lost items. I don't believe the person who traded me this was from around here so I don't even know where to begin. I seen on ebay you can sell them for parts but I don't really believe in doing that and would like to at least try my best to get it back to whom it belongs to. I will be contacting my local police department regarding this but I don't think they will be able to do much if it was stolen from somewhere else. However if nobody claims it in 90 days and I have a letter from my local police station saying I am the new owner, will that be enough for apple to unhold their policy of proving the item belongs to you?

When I send a .pages file by e-mail, Mail zips the file to .pages.zip.
The network software at this University blocks .zip. How do I prevent Mail from zipping the file? I tried turning off the "send windows-friendly", but but still zips.Assuming this is iWork '08 or earlier, the "documents" are actually packages. A package is really a folder hierarchy. A folder cannot be emailed unless it is archived somehow. Mail does this automatically; most other email programs would be incapable of sending a bare Pages document at all.
You could use some other non-blocked archive format, like tar or StuffIt. Or maybe you could rename it so that the mail servers don't recognize it as zip. You would have to instruct your recipient to rename it back. I understand that iWork '09 archives documents by default, although they are not named .zip, so that should be no longer an issue. -
My wife bought a Thai mp3 CD. When saved to the mac the titles appear correctly in Thai language. When we use iTunes to search for music and import these songs, iTunes changes the Thai language character to random symbols basically making the titles illegible, and the playlist unuseable if we want to select any songs by title.
Any idea how I can get iTunes to display the song titles correctly (in Thai language)? i.e. as they are in the folder that the songs are saved in?

OS X update will not intall due to "Volume does not meet the requirements"
I don't know why my system doesn't meet the requirments to update Mac OS X 10 4.4? I get an error saying:
"Intalling this software requires 156MB of space.
You cannot install Mac OS X update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
I have 79.6GB of HD space. Am I not intalling correctly??? I have 1G of ram...Maybe I already have an updated version of MacOSX 10.4.4.
How do I check what my current operating system is?I also have this problem.
I've tried both the delta and combo installers and get the same message. I am 100% certain I have the correct installers because I checked the hashes. Also, the word "server" appears nowhere. I only just updated from Panther as well. I've tried repairing permissions. It doesn't even show up in software update.
Any other advice?

I have recently fully updated my mac to 10.8.2 and i am trying to install a small facebook application but every time i come to chose the disk it says ' OS X facebook developer preview can not be installed on this disk. This volume of this disk does not meet the requirements for this update' any ideas on how to get round this?
thanksThat may be the new Mountain Lion "sandbox" protective software kicking in, possibly, because ML "thinks" that App doesn't meet ML's new strict security requirements. A common phenomena. If you feel the 3rd party App is really OK, you can override this feature and install the new App by holding down the Command key when you click to install the new App. That's one possibility for the error message appearing. If not, another possibility is that that Developer Preview software package requires some previous piece of software be installed prior to downloading this Preview. You would have to check the Facebbok websiste's Developer Forums for help if this is the case.

How do I prevent Premiere from placing the scratch disk onto the 'same as project" folder
I start a project by resetting the default scratch disc settings from “same as project” (which is on my “G” drive) to another hard drive where I have always stored defaults on CS3 (the “D” drive). I never had to redo my scratch disks when I created a new project in CS3. Now I need to redo them every time. If I open an older project in CS5 it automatically places all scratch disk files onto the G drive. How do I prevent Premiere from placing all scratch disk information onto the G drive before I open an older file? By the time I get around to changing the location, Premiere has already begun saving scratch disk information on the wrong disk.
However I have another related problem. When I import an older project to nest it in a new project, the scratch discs mysteriously change back from the D drive where I set it up to the “G” drive. I finally discovered this when I reopen the project and all previews disappeared and it had defaulted back to the G drive.Thanks. Now I know that anytime I import a CS3 project file into a CS5 project, that it will change the whole project scratch disk settings to the default without warning.
One wouldn’t think that just one imported file would change the whole overall project file (out of many imported files…not project files that do not); it is odd that Premiere changes the setting of the new overall Cs5 project without warning. -
How can i prevent mail from downloading the same messages over and over again?
is there any way to prevent Mail from downloading the same messages over and over again? Mail has a minimum of "50 recent messages" to download, but i hate having to delete them every time i check for new mail! why doesn't the program remember if you have already downloaded a message, and suppress any subsequent downloads???

I have an iPhone 5 and mini ipad which I bought in the UK Unlocked. I have just moved to Singaporen and have been told that my iPhone won't accept a sim as the phone is locked to the UK. Any ideas how to unlock as apple say they can't do it. Will I have the same problem with my ipad?
Unless you purchased the iPhone direct from Apple in the UK and paid full price either on line or In an Apple Store then it will be locked to a UK Carrier and only that carrier can arrange unlocking
It is unlikely that the iPad is similarly locked as most are sold carrier free unless specifically purchased from a UK carrier as part of a packaged deal involving a subsidy on the price of the iPad ( not very likely but they do exist )
