Wizard Interrupted

I'm trying to download Quicktime to my laptop but everytime I run it something happens and it doesn't install. I accept the lisence agreement. I choose my destination location. The requested operations are performed except for publishing product information. It gets to that point in the download and stop then a screen informs me that the wizard was interrupted before QT could be completely installed.
I am only downloading the basic version, not the version for the IPOD. I don't know why it won't complete the download but I'm hoping someone has an answer.

The requested operations are performed except for publishing product information. It gets to that point in the download and stop then a screen informs me that the wizard was interrupted before QT could be completely installed.
for that one, see the following document (the issue affects QuickTime as well as itunes):
iTunes for Windows installation quits with 1607 error, while publishing product information, or is interrupted

  • PSE 12 Installation Wizard Interrupted

I'm having problems installing Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.
I have already downloaded the bundle. The problem is right at the end of installation wizard. It says status is registering and then immediately does an action rollback.
The message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
I have tried multiple times to delete all files and downloading/installing again.
If anyone can offer some help that would be greatly appreciated.

  • Wizard interrupted before QuickTime could be completely installed?

I bought license to use QT PRO 7 - downloaded the latest version of QT pro 7 (itunes + qt) yesterday (1/20) evening and repeatedly failed to get it either to install over an older existing version of itunes and qt. The installation routine stops close to the end of the process and returns the message "the Wizard was interrupted before QuickTime could be completely installed". The pre-existing old versions of I-tunes and quicktime are gone. And there is no sign of either in my add/remove software menu. I've tried reinstalling the package in safe mode. I've tried shutting down all running programs via the task manager and via msconfig. I've tried using the current QT stand-alone installer. I've tried going back to an ealier restore point. And Quicktime phone support was unable to resolve the conflict either. Anybody here recognize the error message and know how to resolve the problem?

I am having this problem too. QT7 gets past the registering part then goes into a publishing step, the window closes and another window pops up that says
    "InstallShield Wizard Completed
The wizard was interrupted before QuickTime could be completely installed
The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again.
Click Finish to exit the wizard."
I have tried several times using both the itunes/QT7 and the standalone QT7 installers and both fail at this step. The itunes version doesn't even bother to post the above message though. It just closes the window leaving you thinking that it completed successfully. I have tried disabling my virus scanner, cleaning all references that I could find from the registry, deleting all previous installs, but nothing seems to work, so now I have no quicktime on my system of any version and can't get it reinstalled.

  • InstallShield wizard interrupted

I have recently reinstalled WinXP Pro SP2 with all updates on
my home machine and tried to reinstall Cold Fusion MX. I also tried
installing the developer edition from Studio MX. In both instances,
the install never really got started. I get a message that the
"Install Shield wizard was interrupted. Your system has not been
modified". I researched the error and several threads suggested
looking at local security policy to ensure that the account I was
installing under has the right to "impersonate a client after
authentication". I tried that to no avail. Anyone else ever
encounter this? I've tried everything. I was able to install CF
4.5, but I really need MX! Thanks for any assistance.

I installed 4.1 whilst leaving Kaspersky running and had no problems whatsoever. Install (on Win7 x64) was quick and easy. However, I do have LR set up in Kaspersky as a "trusted application", so perhaps this has some bearing.
To be honest, I've never had an issue with any install where I've needed to deactivate Kaspersky to enable it to work (CS6 being one recent example).

  • "Wizard was interrupted before install was complete"  Acrobat XI Pro Windows 8.1  any recent solutions?

Seen in past posts, some years old this has been a problem.  Tried everything I know:  turn off anti-virus, restart, used adobe cleaner, etc.  Any other solutions?  Thank you.

    Hey eDougS,
Just need to ensure that after using Acrobat cleaner tool, do you get the same 'wizard interrupted' error?
Also, please try creating a different user account and then install the software.

  • BB desktop won't INSTALL!!!!!

When i try toi install i get:
'install shield wizard interrupted before installation is complete'
other programs install FINE...only BB Desktop won't!!!
    HELP!?
    thanks a lot!

Okay folks this is the garanteed way to get Blackberry Desktop to  Install.
As others have mentioned make sure to delete all your temp files and in program files delete C:\program files\RIM or c:\program files X86\RIm (For Windows 64 Bit versions)  Also go into your profile:
XP: C:\documents and settings\(User Name)\ Local Settings\Application Settings and delete any files called "RIM" or "research in motion"  and also C:\Documents and settings\(Username)\Application Data\ any files named "RIM or Research in motion"
In Vista or Windows 7, look for c:\users\(username) App data\ Local, and app data\ Roaming again delete any instances of files named "RIM" or "Research in motion"
Also a good idea to run CCleaner or any registry cleaner you prefer.
Attempt to install Blackberry desktop again. If that STILL fails this for sure will work!
Go to control panel and create new user account with admin rights
Load up new profile, install blackberry while logged in as new user once installed, you can go back to your regular account and remove the temporary account using Control Panel/User Accounts.

  • You have interrupted the wizard!! (Photoshop CS2)

    I am getting the message:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop CS2 finished installing..." etc, etc.
I have rebooted twice and even waited a few hours before trying to install and still, I receive the same message.

While installing Acrobat XI Pro, the installation automatically rolls back and I get the message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07) could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." How to resolve it.
How do I modify the system.

    Hi Rgardezi,
The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
    1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
    2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.

  • Installation of Lightroom 4.1 failed. InstallShield Wizard was interrupted

Have tried installing Lightroom 4.1 twice now. Towards the end the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1 InstallShield Wizard appears reporting "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified." I already have LR 4.0 installed successfully. Am using Win7 Ultimate. Any ideas please?
Message was edited by: Digital.Geoff. I previously mentioned the Windows virtual keyboard but, on reflection, that was a 'red herring'. If the virtual keyboard /was/ related to the InstallShield dialog it would have appeared /after/ the dialog appeared, not before, so it can't be that that would have interrupted the install.

I installed 4.1 whilst leaving Kaspersky running and had no problems whatsoever. Install (on Win7 x64) was quick and easy. However, I do have LR set up in Kaspersky as a "trusted application", so perhaps this has some bearing.

  • My install wizard is being interrupted apparently.

When I try to install my iPod software from the disk the InstallShield wizard says this:
    InstallShield Wizard Completed
The wizard was interrupted before iPod Updater 2004-10-20 could be completely installed.
The system has not been modified.
---Then I ran the iPod update named 2005-26-6 and it went through and said it was complete, then dissapeared off the screen. It said it installed in program files, but when I go there there isn't a single folder named ipod or anything related. It's like I didn't download it. When I connect my iPod to my cpu also the do not disconnect screen stays on the whole time. I have the special edition U2 20 gig ipod just fyi I don't know if that matters.

I tried to uninstall iTunes, but I don't think it was ever even on my computer in the first place. It's not in Add/Remove Programs and it's not in Program Files. Everytime I try to download iTunes I get a: Error Connecting to Service Manager. Error number=0. I tried also to DL the latest iPod software and it runs through the installation process fine but then completes installation and closes up and my computer is no different, there are no new programs. I also went to the Windows Update website and tried to update my installer. <--I read this idea in another thread where the person seems to have the exact same problem--> it updated but had no effect. I have no idea what to do. Help.
    Here's the other helpless person.
