Wizard Set-up problem
I just bought a WRT54G and out of the box I alread have a problem.
I put the setup disk in the drive, fire up the disk, and I get an error that says "Setup Wizard MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I haven't connected any of wires or the router. I tryed searching this forum and google but haven't found any support for it. Any help?

Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ IGNORE
Hi Experts,
I have created a database link from Oracle 10g to Mysql 5.
I have installed Oracle Gateway 11g for this purpose.
When i retreive the data from sql plus the text is displayed as question marks.
Oracle 10g Database character set is WE8MSWIN1252
Mysql character set --->latin1
Character set of ODBC connector for mysql is latin7
Character set in the parameter file of HS folder is WE8MSWIN1252When i retrieve data from sql developer the text is fine(as i think it directly takes the character set of target) but
when i login from sqlplus i get question marks!

Regarding the problem itself, make sure that SQL*Plus has the right NLS_LANG setting in the environment. On Windows, in the Command Prompt:
C:\> set NLS_LANG=.WE8PC850

How do I with GTX transceiver wizard set CPLLREFCLK="101" so I can select my gt0_gtsouthrefclk0_in (which I'm in QUAD 113 so this is from QUAD114 correct)?
I currently have to open ..._multi_gt.vhd and the _funcsim.vhd/.v files and edit the:

from the default "001"

I'm not sure about wizard page Line Rate,RefClk the "Transceiver Selection" I have my GTX X1Y2 from QUAD0 o ngui =QUAD113 for real set to get clk from QUAD1 per gui=QUAD114 for real REFCLK0_Q1 to my CPLL ... not sure what this does but closest thing to selecting the southrefclk0 I guess...?
I also include shared logic in example design since I think I don't want to step on my prior pcs_pma core that used include shared logic but still uses same QUAD113 - ch1 for phy.
I tried to find in .xci or report_property something to set the CPLL sel but don't see it..
currently I will set my .xci to global and delete my .dcp which will then just build from source right..
PS- when I change funcsim CPLLSEL signals it doesn't seem to simulate for them, just the "001"...?

VC707 board, using QUAD113 the SGMII on GTXE_CHANNEL_X1Y! is already working using it's MGTREFCLK0 SGMII_CLK and now I want to get the GTXE2_CHANNEL_X1Y2 SFP+ transceiver in the same QUAD113 working using the Si5324 MGTREFCLK0 from QUAD114 as it's CPLL input.
I can't get CPLL lock. Since this Si5324 clk is from QUAD114 MGTREFCLK0 above I believed I should tie my design Si5324 clk input pin signals through an IBUFDS_GTE2 to the GTSOUTHREFCLK0 pin of my gtwizard GTXE2_CHANNEL for my SFP+ transciever. However in the design view it appears the Si5324 clk pin into QUAD 114 is mapping to GTSOUTHREFCLK1 in the diagram so I tried that as well. I've also tried to just tie it to GTREFCLK0 and/or 1, change to appropriate CPLLREFCLKSEL, and also to tie it to all the advanced clks...
Where shoudl I tie the Si5324 clk input signal -- what should my CPLLREFCLKSEL be set to.
If I understand your response it sounds like since I'm never changing clks to the SFP transceiver and only tieing one, I just leave CPLLREFCLKSEL = '001' and tie it to the GTREFCLK0?

An odd set of problems - full re-install fail

I have a funny set of problems which has culminated in me wanting to fully reinstall operating software. I will explain why I want to do this in a minute, but the main problem is that I can't manage to do it! When I boot up my mac from the startup disk I get a messed up display. The information is obviously all there on the screen, but it's displayed in weird jagged lines. This means that I can't make out where to click to continue with the installation. I also though that the disk drive was being particularly clunky sounding, but could be imagining that.

The problems up to this point have been really odd, with applications one by one stopping responding and finder crashing. Also the computer will sometimes not go to sleep when closed and the fan will go a bit mad. I have had particular problems with browsers crashing and generally the computer grinding to a halt with nothing but the off button having any effect.
I have tried loads of stff - reseting P ram, repairing disks, running cleanups on Onyx, removing programmes etc.
I want to go back to square one because things are getting a bit messy, it won't let me reinstall Safari becuase it thinks it's already there, but It doesn't show up on search!
I tried reinstalling Snow Leopard but realised that didn't really do much and am now going down the route of putting the original install disk in. I bought there computer second hand btw, so there is a possibility that the install disks are wrong, although unlikely because the guy was trustworthy.

Just want to clear up the fact that the original problems encountered were not display related and it only happens when I try to do that one specific task. The computer is working ok now and I am writing this message from it.

Brand new iPad 3 out of the box - set up problem. It says my Apple ID (email address) is already being used. I reset the password successfully but still says I need another Apple ID. Why won't the ID recornize me?
Open current iTunes on your computer. Connect iPhone to the computer with the Lightning USB Cable. Hold both the Home and Power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Sevice and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

I have a problem relating to payments made to multiple vendor. I have tried by using payment method set up in Admn>Setup>Banking>Payment method setup and by using payment wizard. It is coming correctly but it is making as individual entry for each vendor as below ;
Vendor A 1000
To Bank 1000
Vendor B 5000
To Bank 1000
I need the entry as below :
Vendor A 1000
Vendor B 5000
To Bank 6000
ie., Bank should be debited as a whole . Is there any settings to be made in payment setup or is there any other way to solve this issue.
Can anybody help as this is urgent.

The Payment Wizard is a method to process mutiple payment at one time but its base behaviour does not differ from processing an individual outgoing payment.
Therefore, the Jounal posting are going to be individual and not 1 JE as you are expecting.

I have an 8520 curve which I purchased and used in the UK with the Orange network before moving back to Canada and getting a package with Fido. Everything is working fine with it except I am unable to set up my email accounts. From the email set up in the set up wizard, as I choose next to open the set up application, a message appears telling me my device is having a problem connecting to the server. I don't know how to fix this. My BBM works fine, the browser works and the applications work so I am clearly connected to something. I am getting frustrated with not being able to access my emails from my phone. The only help I've been offered from Fido was to turn off the phone and remove the battery and turn it back on and try, which didn't work. If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would be much appreciative!!

Remote not working. network set up problem
okay... The remote app is not working.
I have installed it on my phone and successfully made it work both on my computer and on the computer in the mac store. So i know the iphone is not the problem. The problem is I had to set up a temporary network on my computer. I want to get the current network configured correctly to work with the iphone remote app.
Here is what is happening:
i open up remote, choose my library, the code comes up for me to enter. but itunes does not find my iphone.
Both the phone and the comp are using a wi-fi network from my router. It is password protected, both have the password installed in them. When i check system prefs on both they are using the same network.
When i went into the apple store, it instantly recognized my iphone and was able to set up the remote there.
On my own computer I can set up a secondary network and it works there. To so that I went to the airport icon on the top right, the pull down menu has "create network" as an option. I created a new network and THAT network used the remote app. But when i restart the computer that network is deleted.
What is configured incorrectly in my main wi-fi network that is not allowing the remote the be recognized?
I know the questions are going to come up:
i have itunes 8
iphone firmware is updated.
both have been reinstalled.
in itunes i do have the "accept remote" button clicked. i tried resetting it but it said it could not remove remotes since none were recognized yet.

gjclimer is online now Report Post Edit/Delete MessageI'm having this problem also and I'm in the process of reseting everything. I have tried turning iPod touch on/off, reinstalling the remote app and closing/opening iTunes.
Two things to check:
1. Go to View, Preferences, Sharing and make sure iTunes is set to share your library. Sometimes turning this on for the first time you connect the remote solves the problem and you can then turn it off again once it's working.
2. Make sure your wireless devices (everything connected to your wireless router) are on the same network as the computer you are trying to connect to. I have a main wired router going into my PC and use Airport Express as a wireless extender (basically plugging it into the router to beam the internet access out to wifi devices) and originally the main router put my PC on one network (172.x.x.x) whilst my wireless devices were on a different one (255.x.x.x), so the two devices couldn't see eachother. The way to solve this problem is to tell your wireless router to act as a 'bridge' under the wireless router's settings, which will extend the network of your wired router, rather than create a whole new one.
I'm not sure either of those will help but it's worth a go. I'll let you know if I solve the problem at my end and how I did it. -

The problem is that I have to work with this older SDK version. :) But I got it solved by using the roll method with the following syntax:
int delta = [dayToSet] - m_calendar.get(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK);
in which the delta is of course the difference (negative or positive to the current day of the week)
and then using the roll call:
m_calendar.roll(Calendar.DAY_OF_WEEK, delta);
which doesn't alter the current week. So this works if someone else has a similar problem with the version 1.3.1

Please help - Time Capsule Set up problems
I bought a Time Capsule almost a year ago at the same time as my iMac, but have only tried to set it up in the last 3 weeks (so its the 6"x6"x1" version). I followed the set up instructions numerous times but kept getting an error message in Airport Utility. I rebooted my broadband and tried the factory reset of the TC.
Eventually I contacted Apple and after repeating everything whilst they were on the phone, they made an appointment for me at the Genius Bar to have the TC checked over. The Apple rep was able to access the TC using the internal Apple network and a normal port but had the same problem I did using the WAN connection so deemed the item faulty and replaced it.
My new TC is exactly the same and this time Apple advised me to ask my BB provider if there were any firmware updates required or reasons why I would be having problems. They also checked that I had the latest iMac software and Airport Utility. BT (my BB provider) went through a series of tests and concluded that my BT Home Hub 3 was faulty and have replaced it.
So now I have a new Home Hub 3 and another new TC and I've still got the same problem. I only want to use the TC for backing up my iMac with Time Machine but Id like to do it wirelessely. Can someone please tell me what I should do next as I can't believe its still down to faulty products.I have just been watching Internet traffic on my McAfee security software on my BB and it shows that my router and TC both have a green light for access through the firewall, until Airport Utility gets to the point in its routine where it shows 'joining to the TC' and then my router loses access to the Internet and gets a red light as connection lost. Is that normal, and/or does it help diagnose what the problem might be?

I am using the Flash Builder Data Services Wizard to access a Server that utilizes REST type calls and returns JSON objects. The server is a JETTY server and it apparantly already works and is returning JSON objects (see below for example). It is both HTTP and HTTPS enabled, and right now it has a cross-domain policy file that is wide open (insecure but its not a production server, it's internal).
The crossdomain file looks like this:

Now before all of you say that using wizards sucks (generally) I thought I would utilize the FB Data Services Wizard as at least it would provide a template for which I could build additional code against, or replace and improve the code it produces.
With that in mind, I browse to the URL of the Jetty Server with any web browser (for example, Google Chrome, Firefox or IE) with a URL like this (the URL is a little confidential at the moment, but the structure is the same)

I am thinking - okay, but the URL IS browseable (as I originally was able to browse to it, as noted above).

It's a simple application to be sure. When I run it , I get the following returned in the text area field txtAreaResults:
An Internal Error Occured.
Which is equivalent to the following JSON string being returned:

It appears that the call is being made, and that a JSON object is being returned... however it does not return the expected results?
Again the URL constructed is the same:
https://www.somedomain.com:somePort/someKey/someUser/somePassword/someTask
So I am wondering what the issue could be:
1) is it the fact that I am browsing the test application from an insecure (http://) web page containing the Flex application and it is accessing a service through https:// ?
2) is the JSON string structurally correct? (it appears so).
3) There is a certificate enabled for HTTPs. it does not match the test site I am using ( the cert is for www.somedomain.com but I am using localhost for testing). Would that be an issue? Google Chrome and IE just asks me to proceed anyway, which I say "yes".
Any help or assistance on this would be appreciated.

Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS. I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers - IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers? the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above. -

I need to set up a POP mail account to simplify life with multip accounts. The wizard seems to not give a choice and goes the IMAP way!
I am on a MacBook Pro using Mountain Lion with the latest fixes installed.
ThanksAuto configuring a new iMac under OSX 10.8 was a breeze until I started getting mail pushed to me in volumes that initially was confusing until I perused my Mail App settings. IMAP was a surprise and I made a big mistake by calling ATT tech and following their advice on editing the server settings! Mail App was severely wounded and behaving like it was off the wire. I next discovered that under 10.8 I had no ready access to preferences in my home user directory! No Preferences folder? So how am I going to delete and rebuild com.apple.mail.plist??? That issue was resolved by moving in through the GO menu again holding down the OPTION key which lit up the prefs folder. Holy moly - there is no com.apple.mail.plist under Mountain Lion! So then even the nuclear option appeared to be no longer available. This huge conundrum was quickly resolved when the <option> <continue> trick opened the stealthed window for POP mail protocol selection. I suppose I can understand Apple's thinking behind defaulting to IMAP protocols but not providing a clear pathway to selecting the POP protocol is less than I expect of Mother Apple.
FWIW, I also noted that launch/retrieve speed of numerous test emails that I sent to myself clearly demonstrated that POP is many times faster than IMAP in getting mail in and out of my machine. -

I have just bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 and all set up fine to a point. Problem is that when I try the HP Utility set-up and click on "Add Printer" and identify it as "Bonjour Malfunction" and select the printer from the pull down menu list, I receive the message:
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable, please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software".
I have already downloaded the latest software from theHP website - but stil no resolution.

I would be happy to provide some help regarding your Officejet 8620 and installing the software on the Mac. The first thing I suggest is to ensure all the HP Software is removed from the Mac. I suggest uninstalling the HP Software. After the software is uninstalled I recommend performing a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac. A repair disk permissions is a utility built in the Mac operating system designed to locate and resolve issues or errors that may cause complications when re-installing. After the repair disk permission is complete restart your Mac and try adding the printer again.

There is only software available for Mac 10.10. Unfortunately there is no full feature software and driver available for Mac 10.7. You should still be able to add the printer using the AirPrint drivers. Go into System Preferences from the Apple icon and click on printer and scanner. In the printer and scanner window click the add printer icon and you should be able to add the 8600 printer via Wi-Fi and AirPrint.
I recommend checking for software updates on the Mac. To check for software updates click the "apple" icon at the to left and click on "software update". Install any HP or printer updates. After any updates you should restart the computer. and try printing.

Problem:
When I set up a wireless and wired bridge my Internet connection works perfectly and I can connect to the second SSID. If, however, I close out of my browsing session and come back to my laptop several hours later and open a browser, I get the “webpage cannot be displayed” message.
I suspect this has to do with IP addresses changing from the main router after a certain amount of time.
What could be causing this?
What can I do to stop this from happening?

EMLRunning multiple router behind router can be tricky and may be the cause of your dropouts if you don't have it configured properly.
Cisco recommends using your best router as your primary router and DHCP server.
The best way to setup for home networks, in my opinion, is to use only one router, and put the other router(s) in bridge mode. Also, make sure your modem is not a router too.

Sapscript: Do not interpret two commas in text as tab
