WL 7.02 Clustering service

          I 2 WL 7.02 servers. 1 Admin server, with 2 Managed servers. I have the Node Manager
          and the Admin Server running as W2K services that start automatically. After a
          reboot I can login to the Admin Console and Start the Cluster Server, which starts
          both Managed servers.
          Is there a way to setup the Cluster Server as a W2K service, or at least start
          automatically?

Hi.
I encountered the same problem. In my case, the reason was that I created a new user for BAM (to be provided when installing BAM) but ran the installation under another user account. It seems like these users must be the same to make it work.

I have an IBM BladeCenter S with 3 blades and an IBM System Storage DS3300 (ISCSI).
In each blade is running Windows Server 2008 R2 with
HYPER-V,
Failover Clustering with Cluster Shared Volumes.
I have observed that many errors occur constantly in "Failover Cluster Manager" and some VM´s are relocated to another blade automatically, however thoses VM´s sometimes no longer responds to network activity.
The errors I have observed in the "Failover Cluster Manager" are:

Now that you have a cluster in place and you installed a VM on this but is the VM HA enabled ?
even on a cluster your VM can still be single server. For creating a HA VM you need shared storage or shared VHDX. and you will need the broker services with out this there is no-way the VM will failover.

Clusters & service names

Hi,
I am trying to create two separate clusters, let's say A and B, each has a different <service-name>. When I have a client (that's configured with the <service-name> of A) connecting to A, I also see messages on the cache server for B saying that it joined the cluster. Why is that? A and B have exclusive <service-name>. How can I prevent A from connecting to B without using well known addresses?

Hi Harry,
clusters are separated from each other by having a different multicast address and port.
If you specify the same multicast address and port to JVMs running Coherence, they will try to form a common cluster.
Services are a subunit of a cluster.

Oracle 10gR2 Patch Set 3 - Clustering Service (CSS) failed to start

Hi ,
we are using Solaris 10 containers. Oracle 10gR2 installation done with ASM in Non-global zone and it was successful, after applying patch set 3 CSS service unable to start and won't generate any error message.
OS : solaris 10
DB : Oracle 10gR2
any pointer will help us to resolve this issue.

1) Set the LANG environment variable in /etc/init.d/init.cssd script (in GETBOOTID section) to cs_CZ.ISO8859-2:

My guess is stateful session beans and entity beans.

Did you download AS8.1 agent under http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=4266924d?
If you can unjar am_as81_agent_2_1.jar after installing the J2EE agent, you will find AgentRealm.class under com.sun.amagent.as.realm.

          Fabio, your other alternative is through a group of Web servers configured identically
          using Weblogic proxy plugins. WLS can also act as a load-balancing proxy to interface
          with a Cluster. Search bea docs for Load-balancing Proxy.....

How to find if the SQL Reporting services are stand alone or clustered ?

Can any one tell me how do i find if the SQL Reporting services are stand alone or clustered ?
As there are no other SQL features installed on the server except for reporting.
Is there any GUI or CLI command to check this ?

Do not open cluster administrator since SSRS cannot take advantage of Windows Clustering Services.
You need see if the Network Load Balancing manager (NLB) (windows feature) is installed on the SSRS computer and open
it to see if a NLB cluster has been configured.

Clustered Time Services

Hi,
          I've got several time / schedule related services that are registered upon
          server startup. We are moving from a single server instance to a several
          clustered instances. As expected, I've run into an issue where each
          scheduled service on each cluster is firing independently of the others and
          thus I'm getting multiple notifications of each scheduled event.
          My question is this... how do most shops handle this type of situation? We
          want to have a scalable / failable? solution. I know I can take care of the
          problem by only registering the scheduled objects in a single per server
          properties file, but I lose any type of failover.
          I'm thinking of starting the scheduled services on each server in the
          cluster and binding a next run time into the JNDI tree. When a scheduled
          event fires it would check the next run time to see if it can run its
          schedule. If not it would reschedule itself to check later and effectively
          go back to sleep. If it can run it would do so and increment the next run
          time and reschedule itself to check later and go back to sleep.
          Any thoughts???

In clustered msg srv deployments with ISS enabled, what is the correct way to deploy IMQ:
- as a clustered service with affinity configured between msg and imq
or
- imq instance running on each node of the cluster

JMQ should be installed on each cluster node with something like this:
Grab mq4_1-installer-SunOS.zip (SPARC) or mq4_1-installer-SunOS_X86.zip (x86)
Slap JMQ installer somewhere like /usr/local/src and unzip it
mq4_1-installer/installer or mq4_1-installer/installer -nodisplay
Hammer through the install and you should be ready to go
Now the actual setup of JMQ:
vi /etc/imq/imqborkerd.conf
Change {color:#0000ff}*AUTOSTART=NO*{color} to {color:#0000ff}*AUTOSTART=YES*{color}

I have a web service that will participate in a cluster. There is no session data to speak of, but there is class member variables that need to be synchronized across the cluster.
Is it possible to have class member variables replicate between clusters?

Unable to failover the services in active-active cluster node

i am applying the sp2 patch for sql server 2008 r2 in active-active cluster, we have 3 services in the cluster , node 1 as 2 prefered owner and node 2 as 1 prefered owner, when i try to move the service from node 2 to node1 , i am getting the below errors
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer XXXXXXXXX using any of the configured protocols.
The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server XXXXXXXXX. The target name used was RPCSS/XXXXXX. This indicates that the target server failed to decrypt the ticket provided by the client. This can occur when the target server principal
name (SPN) is registered on an account other than the account the target service is using. Please ensure that the target SPN is registered on, and only registered on, the account used by the server. This error can also happen when the target service is using
a different password for the target service account than what the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) has for the target service account. Please ensure that the service on the server and the KDC are both updated to use the current password. If the server
name is not fully qualified, and the target domain (XXXXXX) is different from the client domain (XXXXXXX), check if there are identically named server accounts in these two domains, or use the fully-qualified name to identify the server.

How to find out which RAC service a user is using.

Hi,
Our RAC database uses clustering services.
How do I find out to which RAC service a database user is setup for?
I know how to check what it is currently using by looking at GV$SESSION. But i want to check what service a user was originally setup?
I cant seem to find the info i need on the following views:
GV$ACTIVE_SERVICES
DBA_SERVICES
GV$SESSION
am i missing out something?

There is a service_name column in gv$session that should show what service is being used by a connection.
Sorry...reread and see that you know about gv$session...I'm not really sure what you mean by originally setup or how long ago you are trying to look for but in v$active_session_history there is a column that is service_hash that will join to dba_services column name_hash..so if you can find some old session from that user and get the service_hash you can get the service name from dba_services.

Data load failures in Essbase Clusters ( MSCS)

Hi,
If there is a failure on the Active Essbase Cluster Node (call this Node A) and the Cube has to be rebuilt on Cluster Node B, how will the Cube be re-built on Cluster Node B.
what will orchestrate the required activities in the correct order to rebuild the Cube)? Both Essbase nodes are mounted on to Microsoft Clustered Services.
In essential, I want to know
A) How to handle the metadata load that failed on Node1 onto Essbase Node2?
B) Does the session continues to perform the meta data/ data load on the Essbase Second Node when the Essbase First Node fails?

It would be built the same way as you either use the Essbase clustername or the MSCS VIP used for the Essbase cluster configuration, you would not ever be referencing a host name so it does not matter which node it is running on.
The session will be lost on a failover as it is the same as an essbase restart.
