  • WLAN driver fails to install on G580 Windows 7 x64 with error "BCM4313: Can not find setup file"

    Summary:
    I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on my G580.  Everything is working fine except the WLAN driver fails to install with the error "BCM4313: Can not find setup file".
    Details:
    I bought lenovo G580 with Windows 8.  Since my parents are not comfortable with the learning curve of Win 8, I successfully downgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate x64.  Everything is working fine but my WLAN card is not recognized because of lack of driver.
    The lenovo parts look-up page says I have broadcom WLAN card - CBT BCM4313 MOW HMC WLAN
    I looked at lenovo driver downloads site and tried following driver files for Windows 7 and both of them failed to install with the following error.  I tried installing other WLAN drivers also but they won't even install as required hardward is not there.
    Error -  "BCM4313: Can not find setup file"
    Drivers Tried:
    - http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028105
    - http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028208
    Any help about how to get past this error will be appreciated.  The previous Widnows verison (Windows 8) is still on my hard-drive as windows.old folder.  Let me know if I can copy a specific file from there.
    Thank you.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Download this driver bcm4313
    Start setup and extract the files.After that go to star menu/control panel/system/device manager.There you probably find out that network adapter driver is missing.Choose it and click with right mb for drop menu to show up.Select properties then Driver/Update Drivers...Select to load driver from computer hard drive and choose the path where extract files is.Default path is main partion C: and search for directory named Driver.
    And yes...you get "Can not find setup file" error but dont worry.Files needed to instal driver are extract fine.

  • JSPM startup fails with IBM JDK 1.4.2 SR13

    Hi experts,
    I´m upgrading my Portal to EHP1 SP06. After the upgrade I checked SDM and JSPM, SDM is working fine but the JSPM don´t start any more.
    I just getting the information after starting the script 'go' under AIX:
    'Waiting for SDTServer to connect ...'
    Nothing happened after 10min...
    Just want to let you that this issue is caused by a buggy version of the AIX JDK.
    There is a new sapnote 1422869 for this issue, please have a look.
    Solution
    Use the actual recommended "IBM JDK 1.4.2 SR13 FP4 ifix" or SR13 without any FP.
    The problem was introduced with SR13 FP2 and is in FP3 and FP4 too.
    Install the recommended "IBM JDK 1.4.2 SR13 FP4 ifix" to solve the problem (see SAP note 1008311 or 1024539). As a workaround you can use the remote GUI from another system using a not affected JDK.
    I installed IBM JDK 1.4.2 SR13 without any FP and the JSPM is working again
    You can get the new Java versions directly from IBM, click here to download it.
    Regards,
    Jens

    Hi,
    While installing solution manager 4 (SLES x86_64) I also run into the problem "ibjvm.so preloadLibrary: /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/jre/bin/j9vm/libj9vm22.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" during the phase "Create Java users"
    I've taken your advice (Chris B) and the installation carries on with out a problem. (and the java instance has started)
    When I stop and start sap, I then cannot get the Java instance to start again!
    The error in the "std_bootstrap.out" has the message; "libjvm.so preloadLibrary: /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142/jre/libj9vm22.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    libjvm.so failed to load: j9vm22"
    I have set all the environmental variables including the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and JAVA_HOME
    I was wondering if you had the same problem, else if anyone else could please please help.
    Thanks,

  • Installing Demantra 7.2.0.2 with IBM Websphere as the application server

    Can anybody share the documentation / insight into installing Demantra 7.2.0.2 using IBM Websphere 6.1 (OS-Windows) ?
    Can we install the Demantra on the same machine on which Websphere is installed or we need another box.
    Which steps we need to follow ? Any setting on the Websphere for this ?
    Suppose Websphere is installed on http://webmac.xxx.com (machine name) - is this the web address we need to specify even if we are installing on the same machine.
    Thx for your help.
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
    If the other users are on the same network as the machine on which Tomcat is running, they can access demantra web applications directly. Only measure to be taken is that the url should contain either IP address or the network m/c name of the server machine alongwith the port no.
    e.g.
    http://10.32.142.123:8080/....
    http://mymachine:8080/....
    If the other users are on some different network and wanted to access Demantra web applications through Internet, then you will have to ask your networking team to open the port no (e.g. 8080) of the Tomcat server machine through the firewall of your environment. This will allow the users outside of your environment to access the application running on your specific machine through the specific port only.
    And the users who want to access these applications might also have to put host entries as suggested by Shekhar depending on the internet access policies of their organization.

  • VB ActiveX User Control fails to install on Windows 8 using IE10 with Code Download Error: (hr = 80070005) Access is denied.

    I have a VB VS2008 (.Net 2.0) ‘pure’ .NET based user control which used to be hosted in Internet Explorer.
    Because that approach is no longer possible in VS2013 (.Net 4.5) I have converted it to an VB ActiveX user control.
    This process involves digitally signing the user control DLL.
    Creating a setup project resulting in a setup.exe and MyUserControl.msi.
    Digitally signing both those components and then producing a cab file (which again is digitally signed).
    IE10 should then be able to install this using an object tag as follows
    <object id="editor" height="100%" width="100%"
     classid="clsid:EA47DB16-9272-4CB3-A800-C369A479396A" codebase="cab\MyUserControl.cab#Version=6,0,11,1" VIEWASTEXT>
    If I use the setup.exe and MyUserControl.msi directly on the client windows 8 machine before starting IE10 then the control is already installed (shows up in Programs and Features) and it works.
    If I don't do this and let IE install the control then it doesn't work.
    What I see is the IE prompt
    This website wants to install the following add-on: 'MyUserControl.cab'
    Clicking on install produces the User Account Control MsgBox
    Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer
    Clicking yes doesn't install the control as expected
    The inf file that I'm using is currently
    [version]
    signature="$CHICAGO$"
    AdvancedINF=2.0
    [Add.Code]
    setup.exe=setup.exe
    MyUserControlSetup.inf=MyUserControlSetup.inf
    MyUserControlSetup.msi=MyUserControlSetup.msi
    [setup.exe]
    file=thiscab
    [MyUserControlSetup.inf]
    file=thiscab
    [MyUserControlSetup.msi]
    file=thiscab
    [Setup Hooks]
    RunSetup=RunSetup
    [Deployment]
    InstallScope=user
    [RunSetup]
    run="%EXTRACT_DIR%\setup.exe"
    I have defined the registry setting ForceCodeDownloadLog
    Examining the temporary internet files location after trying to install using IE10 I can see the following
    *** Code Download Log entry (15 Jan 2015 @ 11:49:18) ***
    Code Download Error: (hr = 80070005) Access is denied.
    ERR: Run Setup Hook: Failed Error Code:(hr) = 80070005, processing: %EXTRACT_DIR%\setup.exe
    LOG: Reporting Code Download Completion: (hr:80070005 (FAILED), CLASSID: ea47db16...,

    The problem here was the cab file.
    Using ProcessMonitor I found that the following entry was generated at the time of failure
    16:48:00.9222751            2920      IEInstal.exe         CreateFile
    C:\Users\Jim\AppData\Local\Temp\IDC2.tmp\setup.exe             NAME NOT FOUND               Desired Access: Read Attributes, Read
    Control, Synchronize, Dis, Options: Synchronous IO Non-Alert, Non-Directory File, Disallow Exclusive, Attributes: n/a, ShareMode: None, AllocationSize: n/a
    Analysis of the contents of the cab file using PeaZip indicated that it didn't contain setup.exe which confused me for a while as the makecab /f MyUserControlSetup.ddf produced no errors.
    The MyUserControlSetup.ddf contained
    .Set DiskDirectoryTemplate=cab
    .Set CabinetNameTemplate=DocEditor.cab
    MyUserControlSetup.inf
    MyUserControlSetup.msi
    setup.exe
    Using makecab /f MyUserControlSetup.ddf /v3 I saw that the output was being written to 3 'disk' files but only one was present in explorer after it finished.
    So I guessed that the output was for floppy disks and changed MyUserControlSetup.ddf to contain
    .Set MaxDiskSize=CDROM
    .Set DiskDirectoryTemplate=cab
    .Set CabinetNameTemplate=DocEditor.cab
    MyUserControlSetup.inf
    MyUserControlSetup.msi
    setup.exe
    PeaZip now indicated that the cab file contained the 3 files I expected and using that cab in the codebase attribute installed my ActiveX control

  • Help! CS 5 & 5.5 both failing to install in Windows 7 64-bit with Illustrator?

    I am running WIndows 7 64-bit SP1 in a Macbook Air 2011 model using bootcamp.
    I have been unable to install either Adobe Collection CS 5 or 5.5.
    In both cases, once the installer reaches the stage when Illustrator is being installed, the installer will crash and error out, with an unexplained error code (-1).
    I have already disabled UAC and system firewall.
    Is this a specific problem with CS 5 or some weird incompatibility with MacBook Air drivers?
    Please help! I just spent a lot of money on this software and I can't even install it. > (

    I've ended up using the new production release of Apex Listener with Glassfish.
    Good work on the new installation instructions, they are much more informative.
    My major hurdle with Glassfish was attempting to use the JDK that came with 11gr2. It took a colleague to spot I was using 1.5.x instead of 1.6.0.20 - I sourced this version from my Windows 7 64bit install.
    Now to attempt installing 10gR2 with Apex3.2 on the same box

  • Installing Oracle Database 11gR2 on Linux with Unbreakable Ente. Kernel

    Hello,
    I have Oracle Linux 5.5 with Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel.
    what do I need to have/prepare to install Oracle database 11gR2 on it?
    the hardware part and the partitions are done!
    1-
    Do I need to install/run Oracle Validated Configuration RPM? even if I have Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel?
    if yes does in means the Oracle's Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel does not prepare/configure the system to host database?
    2-
    With any of the above
    do I still need create or edit the /etc/sysctl.conf file, and add or edit lines similar to the following:
    fs.aio-max-nr = 1048576
    fs.file-max = 6815744
    kernel.shmall = 2097152
    kernel.shmmax = 536870912
    kernel.shmmni = 4096
    kernel.sem = 250 32000 100 128
    net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range = 9000 65500

    net.core.wmem_default = 262144
    net.core.wmem_max = 1048586
    I saw allot of docs out there, but none answered these questions!
    so please do not post docs or links to a general sites!
    Thank you for the help

    Dude wrote:
    The intention of Oracle UEK is quite obviously Oracle specific, so I think it is legitimate to ask why not to include the Oracle specific kernel configuration file. The UEK is a drop-in replacement for the existing kernel. Why would we include the oracle-validated configuration options into the kernel package when we already have a perfectly good oracle-validated RPM that can be used with both kernels? Also, the UEK may be Oracle specific, but it's not database specific. Keep in mind that Oracle has thousands and thousands of products. :) I run the UEK on lots and lots of servers, many of which don't run database and many of which have completely different /etc/sysctl.conf configurations.
    The list of available packages and add-on's at http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL5/5/base/x86_64/ is growing. So perhaps it's just a matter of continued development.
    Not sure what the point of this statement is: there are no plans to incorporate the oracle-validated configuration into the kernel, as it already exists in oracle-validated.

  • Install 11.2 EE on Linux with no option packs

    How can you install the base binaries without including the optional software (i.e. partitioning, RAC, spatial, etc.).
    I read there is no "Advanced Install" section in this release and ALL components are installed by default. Would you have to install and then remove the add on components. I need to automate the install process for the customer that would deliver to multiple customers.

    Hello,
    Some of the options you mentionned are included in Enterprise Edition (Partitioning) and even in Standard Edition (RAC).
    So you may install Standard Edition One.
    Then when you create the database with DBCA you can choose [Create a Database] then [Custom Database]
    and at a moment the tool asks you for the [Database Components] at this step you can deselect all.
    You also have the possibility to create manually your database (CREATE DATABASE) then, you can choose the
    components of your database by running or not the related scripts.
    Please, find enclosed a link about the CREATE DATABASE:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10595/create003.htm#CIAEJDBE
    At the step 12 you'll have the scripts to run to install the optional component. So if you don't run them
    you wont have these options.
    Find also here a link about the difference between the Editions of Oracle:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/license.102/b14199/editions.htm
    Hope this help.

    A few general remarks for Sun:
    I only needed JAXB 1.0, why do I have to get the whole JWSDP? Why do I have to deal with this @$#! installer?

    I did,
    installation with 1.4.0_03 and running under 1.4.1_02.
    It does work so far.
    I would like to know what this is all about - but I don't

    Makes you wonder how Sun tests their own software before
    they release it.

    I have tried every way I know possible to download iTunes. I have loaded Quicktime stand alone, I have loaded iTunes to my hard drive and tried to start the install from there and not the internet. I have turned off all firewalls and virus/spyware software. I continue to get Error Message 3, Quick Time failed to install. I am very frustrated with this problem as well as the run around I'm getting from Apple. I can't even update my iPod. I thought my iPod purchase was going to be great. But after the short battery life issue and now the software issue. I am starting to re-think my purchase. Does anyone have a solution to the software problem that works??? Apple even tried to blame the problem on my computer. I see from all the people that have this problem in this forum it is not my computer. Please help if you can...Thanks, M

    Failed to install the new preview build, please try again later. 0xC1900107
    I don't find any reference to that error code. I've seen similar reports in the forum, but with different error codes and with the message "Failed to upgrade" rather than "Failed to install". I haven't played with the reg keys on this
    system.
    The event viewer shows the following event:
    Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0xC1900107: fbl_release 9860 Enterprise.
    The upgrade to a non-Enterprise device started at the same time went through without problems.

    Hi Russell,
    What’s the situation now?
    There would be a cause that the upgrade is running background, so a retry would fail in this situation.
    You can check the action log  in C:\$Windows.~BT\source\panther\setupact.log
    Check the time line to see if it is running for upgrade.
