Hi,
I'm getting the same ClassCastException when I try to activate the changes of my EJB application. Were you able to resolve the error you were getting? Please let me know.
Thanks

  • Memory leak in org.apache.xalan.trasnformer.TransformerImpl

    I am using Xalan library, I notice there is a memory leak in org.apache.xalan.trasnformer.TransformerImpl class.
    Every time I call transform(), the size of the instances grows and it won't reduce after garbage collection.
    Does anyone experience the same thing? or do I miss anything when I use this class?

    I just found out the transformer objects are supposed to be used for single transformation only.
    If multiple transformations with same stylesheet is needed, we should create a Templates object and then for each transformation, create a transformer object by Templates.newTransformer().

  • URGENT: JAXP Provider org.apache.crimson.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not foun

    Hi all
    I am having this strage problem. I am using JAXP Apis to do XSLT transformation and everything works fine.
    But when I try the samething with
    -Djava.security.manager option and
    -Djava.security.policy==$WL_HOME/weblogic.policy option set it doesn't work. Stranger still the error it gives:
    javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider org.apache.crimson.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found
    This the command that works:
    $JAVA_HOME/java -classpath $WL_CLASSPATH -Dintegration.config=$WL_HOME/integration.cfg com.swl.integration.translation.SendPRThread 24972 451
    This one does NOT work:
    $JAVA_HOME/java -ms64m -mx64m -verbosegc -classpath $WL_CLASSPATH -Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.policy=$WL_HOME/weblogic.policy -Dintegration.config=$WL_HOME/integration.cfg com.swl.integration.translation.SendPRThread 24972 451
    I know it's something to do with Security manager/policy setting, but can't figure it out.
    Could anyone please help? It is very urgent.
    Thanks a lot
    Mak

    I have your solution... under Weblogic BEA were giving the same error, I resolved it with this code before the instantiation of SAXParserFactory:
    String key = "javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory"
    String value = "org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl";
    Properties props = System.getProperties();
         props.put(key, value);
         System.setProperties(props);

    Here is the reason for this problem....
    JDK 1.4 comes with a version of Xalan...
    Somewhere around 1.4.2_03 the Xalan version that shipped with the JDK was upgraded because the XSLT spec was completed/revised or something like that.. When this happend the namespace identifier for xalan custom 'tags' changed. The content-handler tag used to be in the xslt name space.. now it is in the xalan namespace.
    Problem is many stylesheets don't specifically set the output format so the defaults are used and the values are initialized from a properties file. However.... and this is where the problems comes in...
    The Namespaces are used as prefixes to the keys in the file... AND... Tomcat''s WebappClassLoader is not safe about ensuring that a resource is loaded from the same Jar file as the classes that use it....
    So what is happening is... the Xalan from your JVM is being used... but it is loading the formatting properties from a Xalan that is included in your Webapp.... which of course don't match....
    All you need to do is remove the xalanXXX.jar from WEB-INF/lib and this problem will go away...

  • Exception :Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found

    Hi All,
    I run my application on Redhat Linux 2.4.9-e.27smp using java appname. I'm using JDK1.4.2 and am not using any app server. The app seems to run just fine for a few hours and then I start getting Exception :Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found exception out of blue. I run the app with following parameters -
    java -server -XX:+UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xverify:none -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4
    I suspect this has to do with garbage collection and can't replicate this on will. I wonder if anyone has come across similar issue and is able to point me to the right direction.
    Thanks for any help,
    Vishal Bhasin

    Quick question. I am receiving the following error too:
    Provider org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl not found
    I am getting this error intermitently. Do you have any idea why this would happen. I am using an add on to a program.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    thankyou.

    found the answer !!!
    i was using a buggy implementation of xalan. on loading the good xalan.jar and xercesImpl.jar files it started working.
    found that there was a memory leak in 2 places. not sure what that meant but some how the virtual machine wasnt getting the right values for the transformer.
    cheers.

  • Running sample of Apache/xalan

    Hi,
    I have downloaded xalan-j_2_2 and i try to run the sample demo "SimpleTransform". I run like this:
    java SimpleTransformand i got:
    Exception in thread "main" javax.xml.transform.TFactoryConfigurationError: org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl
         at javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory.newInstance(TransformerFactory.java:134)
         at SimpleTransform.main(SimpleTransform.java:85)
    The files xalan.jar,xml-apis.jar,xerces.jar etc.. are all in my CLASSPATH.
    What's wrong ??
    Thanks for help.

    Hi,
    I ran into the same problem when I tried out examples in the sample folder.
    TransformerConfiguration error is caused usually because you have a version of xalan which is not stable. Make sure you extract the zip file in the same directory. (for e.g c://xalan.zip should be extracted to c:/xalan)
    Set the system classpath to xerces.jar, xalan.jar, xml-apis.jar. If your running samples you'll probably need samples.jar etc as mentioned in the usagepatterns link of the xml.apache.org website.
    Hope this helps.

  • ClassCastException: org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl

    I'm running into a ClassCastException (see below) when trying to deploy a EJB application. I'm using WebLogic 10.3.4 and have the following PRE_CLASSPATH variable set in my wlserver_10.3\common\bin\commEnv.cmd script.
    set PRE_CLASSPATH=%BEA_HOME%\modules\javax.persistence_1.0.0.0_2-0-0.jar;%BEA_HOME%\modules\com.oracle.jpa2support_1.0.0.0_2-0.jar
    My EJB application is trying to use the latest/current OpenJPA 2.0.1 and my ejb.jar has a Class-path specified in its META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file, pointing to a provided open-all-2.0.1.jar. This openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar library file is packaged at the ear application level.
    I would really like to use the latest/current OpenJPA 2.0.1 as mentioned above - instead of the Weblogic provided OpenJPA snapshot but for the purpose of testing ... If I don't provide the ebj.jar a Class-path and don't package the open-all-2.0.1.jar lib in my ear, I'll get the ClassNotFoundException error (Error processing persistence unit oraexeu of module ReportBrokerService.jar: Error instantiating the Persistence Provider class org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl of the PersistenceUnit oraexeu: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl). It doesn't matter if I specify <provider>org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl</provider> in my persistence.xml or not.
    My weblogic-application.xml file contains the followings. Please ignore the jws and xml stuffs as I'm also using cxf and know it currently works. The only change I recently added to this weblogic-application.xml file is the javax.persistence.* line:
         <prefer-application-packages>
              <package-name>org.apache.*</package-name>
              <package-name>javax.persistence.*</package-name>
              <package-name>javax.jws.*</package-name>
              <package-name>javax.xml.ws.*</package-name>
              <package-name>org.xmlsoap.schemas.wsdl.*</package-name>
         </prefer-application-packages>
    It appears there is some conflict between my provided openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar and the WebLogic provided OpenJPA snapshot (a.k.a. org.apache.openjpa_1.2.0.0_1-1-1-SNAPSHOT.jar) shipped w/ this version of WebLogic 10.3.4.
    I'll appreciate very much any suggestion to fix this issue while still having my application uses the latest openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar. Although the case of ClassNotFoundException is really troublesome ... Should it work w/o my openjpa-all-2.0.1.jar?
    ***** ClassCastException - w/ the open-all-2.0.1.jar packaged in the application ear file and a Class-path specified in the ejb.jar manifest file

  • Apache/Xalan

    I need to use the library org.apache.xalan.xpath for programming Xpath and XLS but the compiler dosent recognize the files. I have the jar Files but I'm not sure where to put then.

    I'm not quite sure what you mean by "doesn't recognize them", but I'll toss in something that might help.
    I have been working with Apache's Xerces package (XML SAX parsing), and had considerable trouble getting it working initially. I finally solved my problems by adjusting the order of my ClassPath. The problem was that Xerces jar files needed to be seen before the J2EE jar files.
    Try putting the Xalan jar files in the front of your classpath, and see if that helps at all.
    Good luck!

  • Xalan Processor - Passing inputstream?

    Hi,
    I am using java and I am receiving xml input via a stream and writing it to a file using SAXBuilder. I want to take that output directly from the stream and format it using an xml/xsl file and create a new text file with that data in the correct format. I think that using the Xalan Processor will give me the desired resulted but I can't find any examples of the input from the stream being passed in, etc. Can someone point me in the right direction please? This is what I have so far...I just don't know how to pass it to the processor.
    InputStream inputStream = connection.getInputStream();
    InputStreamReader inStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(inputStream);
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(inStreamReader);
    SAXBuilder builder = new SAXBuilder();
    Document doc = builder.build(reader);
    Element root = doc.getRootElement();
    java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -in ?? -xsl standard.xsl -out out.txt
    Thanks,
    tech_isis

    I just can't get past this point.
    I'm trying to pass in XML input and have it spit out text (or even XML at this point).
    The thing is, I get the XML from the input stream and it doesn't seem to matter if I make a SAX object or a DOM object, neither of them go to the transformer factory smoothly. In the code below, my problem comes in where the ***** is. Intiially I was trying to declare an object which I could pass to the Transformer factory. No matter which object I use I don't know how to make the Transformer know what the root of the XML input is. Do that help you understand what I am trying to do?
    // stream request to server
    OutputStream outputStream = connection.getOutputStream();
    XMLOutputter outp = new XMLOutputter();
    outp.output(requestDocument, outputStream);
    outputStream.flush();
    outputStream.close();
    // read response from server
    InputStream inputStream = connection.getInputStream();
    InputStreamReader inStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(inputStream);
    BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(inStreamReader);
    // parse response
    SAXBuilder builder = new SAXBuilder();
    Document doc = builder.build(reader);
    Element root = doc.getRootElement();
    TransformerFactory tfFac = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer tf = tfFac.newTransformer();
    String outPutFileName = "/home/TEST.TXT";
    File outFileTest = new File(outPutFileName);
    tf.transform(source, new StreamResult(new FileWriter(outFileTest)));

  • **URGENT** No getter method for property searchText of bean org.apache.stru

    I'm implementing a query page as described in the HowTo ADF_ComplexMasterDetail.zip
    When running the query page, I'm receiving the error:
    javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: No getter method for property searchText of bean org.apache.struts.taglib.html.BEAN
    I have my searchEmployees writen and 'exposed' (at least I can see it in the Data palette). But seems like something is missing, and can't find this searchText beam property specified in the html:text tag.
    Can someone help in this one?
    Here is the Help description inside the HowTo example:
    Section 3
    queryEmployees
    queryEmployeesInDept provides an interface for entering a simple search criteria for querying a list of
    employees. This does not use the Find mode Query By Example functionality that the other query screens
    use, but rather presents a much simpler search interface. The actual search is carried out using a
    function
    searchEmployees that the underlying view object exposes. (See the EmployeesView view object in the
    model project)
    1. Drop a new Data Page onto the page flow diagram call it queryEmployees
    2. In the page flow diagram, drag the searchEmployees operation from the AllEmployeesView
    collection in the Data Control Palette and drop it on top of the new Data Page. This will cause the
    framework to run a search whenever the page is called.
    3. In the Structure pane, locate the queryEmployees node and expand it, select the child node
    paramNames[0], and change it's value attribute to ${param.searchText}. This will pass the URL
    parameter searchText on to the business method to qualify the query.
    4. Drill down into the page and expand the Data Control Palette to select the AllEmployeesView
    collection. Set the Drag and Drop as: list to Read-OnlyTable. Then drag the collection onto the page.
    This will create a tabular containing the query results.
    5. Select the Struts HTML component palette and drag a Form onto the page above the output table. Set
    the handling action to this Data Page (queryEmployees.do)
    6. Drag a text field from the component palette inside of this new form. Set the property attribute of
    the
    <html:text> tag to searchText (the same value you used in the paramNames[0] for the Data Page)
    7. Create a new submit button in the form to submit the search. Set the property attribute of the button
    to
    event_search.
    8. Finally we need to subclass the data page to prevent the search action from being fired when it is not
    appropriate for the page ( for instance when we first display it). To do this we need to Go to Code on
    the Data Page's context menu, and override the invokeCustomMethod() method:
    * We only want to invoke the custom method i.e. the call to change
    * the Where clause on the collection, if the Action has been called with
    * a search event on the page with a search term supplied.
    * If the user got here via a link or another event, we bypass the model call
    * unless a URL parameter event=search is supplied, in which
    * case the method will also be called.
    protected void invokeCustomMethod(DataActionContext actionContext)
    List events = actionContext.getEvents();
    // If the event is "search" do the custom event call
    if ((events != null) && (events.contains("search")))
    String searchTerm = (String)((DynaActionForm)actionContext.getActionForm())
    Get("searchText");
    if (searchTerm != null)
    super.invokeCustomMethod(actionContext);
    }
