WLAN 4402 problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my WLAN controller 4400 series.
I've configured it, I can add access points etc. Problem is that i can't make a WLAN's works... I have created dynamic Interfaces, for example vlan 20 with IP address: 10.10.20.1 /24 and I can ping that address, from my computer. When I add WLAN, i simply create it, status is "Enable", "Broadcast SSID" is turn on, interface is interface VLAN 20 and my access points dont want to broacast any of the wlans. Can u help me with that ?
AP mode is local.

Hi,
Do you have any AP groups configured??
Check WLAN >> AP Group >> Check the WLAN and the AP in the Default Group or any one that you!!
OR
Check if the AP radios are UP or Not!!

  • N95 WLAN Connection problems - Orange Livebox (UK)

I am trying to get the N95 to connect to the internet wirelessly through Orange Livebox (UK). I have run the WLAN wizard and the phone has identified it. I have input the WEP key and thats worked fine.......except everytime I try to connect to the net via this method I get a connection error. Has anybody else had WLAN connection problems? Can anybody help?

    hi,
did you press "1" button at the back of the Livebox before pairing ?
what kind of error message do you get on the N95 ?
does it fail the same way when you go through the homescreen "WiFi scanning / Start Web Browsing" or through Tools / WLAN Wizard ?

  • WLAN 4402 Design question

    Dear Support,
Wondering if anyone could help me, after some basic design advice on a WLAN implementation and if it is achievable.
    Summary
VLAN 201 - Wired user LAN and 2003 Server running IAS (10.115.2.x /24)
    VLAN 201 - Secure WLAN on 10.115.2.x /24
    VLAN 60 - Management LAN for WLAN 4402 controller and 4 1130 LW (layer 2 mode) APs (172.16.31.x /24)
WLAN 99 - Guest WLAN with web auth (192.168.252.x /24).
I have a DSL router for the 192.168.252.x subnet for internet access for Guest users. A DHCP scope if configured on the WLAN controller
I am wondering if I can have the same subnet (and addresses assigned via the server running IAS) for both the wired users and secure WLAN.
Thank you for your assistance in advance.
    I always rate helpful replies.
    Best regards, Adrian.

    Hi Ankur,
Many thanks for replying, ideally this is what I need to know is possible.
Currently the wired users on vlan 201, get an IP address via DHCP from the server, the same server is also configured with IAS for the implementation of MS-CHAP-V2 for authentication using their AD username and password (still yet to get working).
Ideally I would prefer that the wired and secure wireless (ms-chap-v2 on vlan 201) get their IP addresses from the same server. I need to know if it is possible to have both a wired VLAN and wireless WLAN using the same VLAN id (in this case 201).
I?m not over concerned with using either L2 or L3 mode on the APs, they currently are set to L2, but happy to define another scope either on the WLAN controller of the IAS (w2003) server.
    Think the fundamental question I?m asking, is ;
Is it possible to have both the Wired users (VLAN 201) and Secure WLAN users (also on vlan 201) to share the same subnet. The reason this is crucial to the design is that the 10.115.2.x subnet is routed via a third party and getting them to add additional routes (i.e. one for the wired users and one for the wireless users is a pain! And a lot of paperwork!)
I have tried to do the config already the issues I have is that pings from the server to the management address of the WLAN controller sometimes work and sometimes don?t. I have 2 x 3560 switches doing the routing between the user (v201) and wlan management (v60). This is also the same in the opposite direction (4402 to the DHCP/IAS server). I am always able to ping the SVI of the v60 from the server. I'm also not seeing any authentication requests being passed to the IAS server.
Thanks again in advance for your assistance.
    Best regards, Adrian.

  • DHCP Client will not work on a WLAN 4402

    Wireless Scenario
I am attempting to create a wireless network using a 4402 WLAN Controller and 1200 series LWAPP access points.
The WLAN Controller has the following interface settings:
    Management Interface 10.71.50.9
    Ap-Manager Intereface 10.71.50.8
    Virtual Interface 1.1.1.1
    VLAN 451 10.29.64.27
I have two access points that both pulled a DHCP Address and recognize the WLAN Controller.
    Access Point 1 10.29.64.20
    Access Point 2 10.29.64.21
I have configured the WLAN Controller to use the Cisco ACS Server for Authentication. I am using LEAP at present, but intend to go with certificate based authentication at a later date. The ssid I am using is ybor-wirenew. The client gets authenticated and associated but does not get an IP Address from DHCP.
I have tried the internal DHCP server on the controller, and although the wireless client gets a 10.29.64.x address it will not communicate with the default gateway or the rest of the network.
The only thing that works is creating a scope on the 10.71.50.x network. The client then gets an address and functions normally.
I need this to work across subnets. Is there something that I am missing???

The problem is with your AP's and wireless clients being in the same subnet/vlan. I learned the hard way the thw WLC's expect the AP's to appear like any other client device on your wired network. Once they are associated with the WLC, your wireless clients are dropped into a different VLAN/subnet. An example config would be:
    Management - 10.0.1.2 VLAN 1
    AP-Manager - 10.0.1.3 VLAN 1
    AP - 10.0.2.2 VLAN 2
    Wireless Clients - 10.0.3.x VLAN 3
There are other known issues with crossing address space and the service port on the WLC.

  • Upgrade WLC 4402 problems

    Hellow
I've got a problem with the upgrade procedure for a Cisco 4402 WLAN controller. I want to install new firmware on the controller, but the TFTP upload is not successfull.
The new image is 37 MB. I've got a TFTP server that supports these large files. I've got threee WLC's and the problem is the same on every controller:
After a few bytes, the controller stops the download.. "Image not complete". Upgrade not successfull.
What is the problem ? Via CLI the same problem.
    Gr.

First make sure you have the right rev of code. Second, make sure you have stepped through the right code versions to get to where you are going. IE. the 4.2 code requires you to be at least at 4.1 I believe. I may be wrong on that one. If you have met these pre-req's my bet is you have a corrupted file.

  • E61 WLAN Vodafone problem

Hi, I just bought a brand new e61 from Vodafone, but problem is they seem to have disabled the WLAN from working.
I input my settings for the WEP key onto the handset, and set up the access point. I configured the router to accept the MAC address of the handset. However, under Menu>Connect, there is no WLAN icon, although under connection manager, there is an available WLAN listed-- mine. This can also give me information about the network, such as strength of connection and how many access points I have etc., and the WLAN icon is displayed in the top right of the screen, so I know it is finding the network, I just don't know how to make it access it.
When I try to start the web browser, it tries to connect to Vodafone's internet service, which is fine when I'm on the bus but not when I'm at home! Any ideas how to fix this so that the WLAN is the default method of connecting to the internet? I rang Vodafone and they were spectaculatly unhelpful telling me that the phone could still access WiFi hotspots and that "if" it had been disabled, it was a company policy because obviously Vodafone would make no money from my browsing at home.
I'm absolutely furious over this, and would be delighted if anyone could tell me how I can avail of the functionality for which I purchased the phone-- I could have got a phone for literally a tenth of the price, I picked the e61 because of its wi-fi functionality, and not being able to use it is really infuriating me.
    Any help gratefully appreciated.

I've just joined this discussion group as I'm having 2 problems with my E61 - and one of these problems is almost the same as the initial question, except that I'm on t-mobile. I have unlimited web browsing, so the cost isn't the issue - but when I'm at home I'd like to be able to use my wireless network as it would be quicker. I also have an indicator showing that there is a WLAN service available and I've defined an access point - but can only get the internet to work accessing via t-mobile.
My husband also has an E61 and he can't get his to work on our network either - I can't remember the phone he had previously (it was like the 02 XDA with a slide-out qwerty keyboard) and that phone used to swap between networks automatically.
I'm sorry - but I'm not very technical and I didn't understand your reply sosul!

  • E71 Wlan connection problems

    Hi all
Have been trying to log on to my secure home network using my E71 & have not been successful. I go to all the steps as per the manual including key in the
Pre-shared key for Wlan which I guess is my Wlan password, is this correct?
    I get an error message
    Wlan unable to connect
    Wlan network not found??
This is a strange message when it has detected the network in the first place? Anyone have any ideas?

Yeah, I'm having similar problems. The phone detects the router WLAN, but the router does not detect the phone WLAN. The message I get is: No reaction from gateway.
I suspect that there is an issue with how the various manufacturers implement 802.11b/g
According to the Nokia Os 9.2 the following is supported:
    WLAN IEEE 802.11b/g
WLAN Security: WEP, 802.1X, WPA, WPA2
    TCP/IP support
My router states the same (Thomson Speedtouch 780) and yet my router cannot detect my Nokia device, even from 30 cm distance.
I may have to upgrade the router firmware to get this to work; still waiting for a reply by Alcatel/Thomson

  • WLAN 4402 Access points hang or reboot

We are seeing a very strange issue in our WLAN setup. Our access points hang or reboot randomly. We have WLAN controller 4402 with 25 Cisco 1020 Access points. Our syslog server shows for some access points rebooted. While others just hang and then come back online after 10-15 minutes. We have similar code 3.2.78.0 running at other sites and everything seems to be stable, therefore we do not want to upgrade or install a new code. Any suggestions, or help will be highly appreciated by the experts.
    Thank you
    Ismail

The errors we saw were "[ERROR] spam_lrad.c 1840: AP 00:0b:85:66:77:88 associated. Last AP failure was due to Configuration changes, reason: did not get join response"
We called Cisco TAC, got the case escalated to the highest level possible, till we got hold of the actual developers of the code. Gave Cisco engineers the Sniffer packet information of the wlan controller and AP.
Finally Cisco engineer found a bug in the code 4.0.179.8 The bug will be fixed in the next release.
    Thank you

  • Catalyst Express 500 Switch and wlan roaming problem.

    Hi everybody.
We are using Catalyst Express switches and air-1121G for a wlan network covering a hotel. When we set the smartport-setting on switch to "access-point" users cannot move from one access-point to another. Setting the smartport-role to "other" solves the problem.
Has anybody made the same experience ?

    Hi
This is a known issue and the workaround you have used is the best but
this issue has been solved in the new IOS release
i would suggest you to upgrade the IOS for the Catalyst 500 and this should solve the problem
the IOS code is CE500 IOS 12.2.20.SEG

  • T42 - 2373-4WU WLAN Driver Problem

    Hello,
I have searched the forum but couldn't find the answer.
A friend of mine brought me a T42 (2373-4WU), hard drive was dead so we bought a new HDD and installed it.
I reinstalled Windows XP PRO (SP3) and got all the drivers from IBM site all of them are working except the WLAN.
I don't know which brand/model is used in this notebook (since it has the Centrino sticker I am guessing it should be one of the Intel ones) there are 9 different drivers on the support site (Onlye 8 of them is actually available, 1 link is broken) for this model and none of them is matching this card.  I am about to go crazy, how can I know which WLAN card is hidden in this machine?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Update:
The one driver that had a broken link was the one I needed (1rwc89ww.exe), it came back online and resolved my problem.

  • MP54G Wlan utility Problem

Hi we've been having major problems with our wireless network here at a school and i think we've finally solved the problem. The only thing now is that when a user logs on who doesnt have admin rights it disconnects the wireless. A task is schedualed to start the wlan utility on system start up so the kids can log in straight away, this works fine but as soon as the kids get in it disconnects the wireless connection, this doesnt happen if you log in with a user who has admin rights. can anyone help with this problem

    Hello lowriseflow!
The wireless driver I found on ASUS's support site includes the utility you are looking for.  Click here to go directly to the EPC900HD's downloads.  It will ask you what operating system you are using.  I assume you are using XP, then it is located under the Wireless tab.  Download from global, it will be faster.
