Wlan connection interrupts 1-2 min - Satellite P300D-21K

Hi,
I have a satelite laptop. P300D-21K.
My wireless connection seems to get interupted every 1-2 mins. I can tell this becasue when I am streaming shows off BBC iplayer, or youtube, you can see that the buffering stops and the audio/video will then stop. I have to kick start it myslef by hitting pause then play to get it to going again.
I do not have this problem when I use my wired network, so I believe this is a problem with the wireless feature of my laptop.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Ross.

Hello Ross,
I have a P300D 15C laptop and I do recognize the random disconnection of the WLAN under Vista. It's very annoying.
After BIOS-update en Atheros-drivers the problem still exists.
Did you solve that problem?
If YES.. please will you post your solution here?
Thanks in advance.
Greets,
pieter

  • WLAN connection interrupts often

    Hello,
I have a strange problem with my WLAN. The connection interrupts about every ten minutes and then I should type in the WLAN password but I cannot reconnect any more. Only a restart of the D-Link DIR-615 solves the problem. Perhaps its a bug of the router but other devices in the network doesn't have this problem.

The problem still exists. I may pull out the WLAN USB Adapter and plug it in again to reconnect but this is no real solution.
Perhaps its a real Bug. I don't know.

  • Fake WLAN Connection Timeout messages with Mini + Airport

I have seen this to be a common problem both in these forums and on the internet. I have also seen this hasn't been commented at all by Apple, which makes it all the more frustrating.
Something happens with some Airport configurations (I'm getting it on an Intel Mac Mini) where Airport just stops working.
The problem is that the Mini won't connect to any WLAN, no matter the authentication method nor signal. It will always give a "timeout" error when trying. Will always ask for the passphrase/key again.
As I said, it's EMBARRASSING that Apple doesn't acknowledge or provide workarounds for these issues. This is the second problem I find today which is publicly known and for which Apple hasn't said a thing (the other is that sometimes iTunes will stop recognizing iPhones/iPod Touches in Windows hardware if other USB devices are connected and/or the WLAN is active, ridiculous and a workaround found by users, but never acknowledged by Apple).
I've seen the rest of the threads, so to preemptively save everyone the time to suggest things I know are not the issue:
    -No Time Capsules are involved.
    -No Airport Extreme is involved.
-No Airport Base Stations are involved.
    -No software/firmware updates are pending.
-No problems exist on the router. Windows PCs, iMacs, Linksys WET11 bridges, iphones and ipod touches connecter perfectly.
-Tried WPA, WEP and Open WLAN. I don't need to know why WEP is worse than WPA. I know all about it and it's not the issue.
-Resetting the PRAM and deleting the SystemConfiguration folder didn't do squat.
-The problem is with all WLANs, not just mine. The router is irrelevant. It can't connect to any of the 4 currently available.

I have a similar problem. Though I couldn't get my Mac Mini (just got it 2 weeks ago) to ever connect through AirPort. My router (LinkSys) is in the same room as the mini. Sometimes mini can't even see my network but it does see a couple of other WLANs in my proximity.
I have no problems finding and connecting with my black MacBook and my girlfriends HP Pavilion.

  • How to connect my Satellite P300D to the TV?

My computer is Toshiba Satellite P300D, and I want to connect my TV via HDMI, because there are 2 HDMI input port.
So what kinds of cable do I have to buy to connect HDMI? Do I have to download some software? How about the audio?
    Cheers

Visit electronic store and buy high quality HDMI cable. Talk with your local dealer and pick up info which one they have.
To connect your laptop to the TV is simply.
Connect both devices with the HDMI cable, choose HDMI channel on TV and use FN+F5 to switch to TV.
    Everything should be OK.
Please let us know if there is some problem.

  • Satellite M70: WLAN connection lost

    Hello!
I have Satellite M70 and I use integrated Intel WLAN card 2200bg. I have the latest drivers downloaded from Toshiba web site and Asus WLAN router w520g with latest firmware. Connection signal is excellent but sometimes actually very often connection is lost for 5-10 seconds.... I am downloading files all the time so there is no idle time in network traffic.
How can I inspect what is reason for losting connection?
Could authentication method or channel mode be a reason for problems?

    Hi!
I updated my driver(latest one from intel website) and problem still exists. But now with Intel Wireless utility I can see error messages when connection goes down. I also opened support case to Intel about this problem. Let's see what they suggest.
I have also tested different kind of variations of configurations (power settings etc.) but no helps!
Now I am testing WLAN connection without authentication and it seems to work ok without connection lost. I will test different kind of authentication methods because i really want to see what authentication causes problems.
One thing I can say more. If I want to see connection break as soon as possible, I have to generete traffic with different kind of p2p programs and I also ping my router (default gateway) with command ping -t -l 1500 same time.

  • Satellite A100-003 WLAN connection timeout(with WPA-PSK)

I have a Satellite A100-003 notebook with preinstalled Windows Vista.
When I try connect to my router with WPA-PSK (TKIP) I have error:
Wireless authentication failed because of a timeout.
My notebook and router configurated correctly!! I installed new intel drivers for 3945ABG chip.
    WPA2-PSK and WEP work fine.

    Hi
The same happened on my old notebook.
I was not able to establish the WLan connection for longer than 1min with WPA encryption.
I have downloaded the newest Atheros driver and updated everything.
Everything works fine with WEP but not WPA.
Then I have disabled the Windows own configuration option and use the Atheros client utility. Now everything works fine!
I would recommend using the Intel Proset utility and check all possible settings!

  • No instant Wlan connection when starting up Satellite L650

    Hello,
I have had connection problems with my L650 Toshiba for the past couple of months.
I bought my laptop a year ago (October 2010), and everything was working perfectly until April 2011.
The first few months, my computer would connect automatically to the internet once it started up.
Since April 2011, my computer takes about 2 minutes to connect to a wireless internet connection when I start it up, whether it is my home connection or work connection.
Once it does connect, the wireless connection works perfectly.
The problem does not come from a wireless router because it happens with all wireless connections. Furthermore, I have tried updating the drivers for the wireless adapter (Broadcom 802.11n) with no success at all.
I would be grateful if someone could provide possible solutions to the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

So what is the problem exactly?
The Wlan connects fine but it takes two minutes until the connection has been established?
    Right?
Well, it could be possible that something is running in the OS background and therefore it takes some time until the notebook could connect to the Wlan.
In my case the notebook needs some time to connect to Wlan because the virus scanner and CCleaner run at the startup and scans the HDD and the system.
After that the notebook connects to Wlan.

  • Server Connections Interrupted - Mountain Lion, latest client and server upgrade

    Hello,
I have seen several errors of a similar kind with no definite fix anywhere on here, so I thought I would post this.
We are running a network with a Mountain Lion Server on a Mac Mini, connected to a router for internet access and connected to a local network for client computers. All the clients are running the latest version of Mac OS X Mountain Lion and are connecting to remote home directories on the server. They also use several group directories.
As of late, they have been getting the message: "Server Connections Interrupted. Ignore / Disconnect all" concerning their group volumes.
I haven't been able to find anything in the logs indicating why this happens, or how to fix it, or why it started appearing.
What have people experienced out there? It appears on all sorts of user accounts, on different computers in different areas of the workplace.
    / Z.

    Additional data:
There is no WIFI enabled on the network, all is networked using ethernet.
There's a Time Capsule on the Server, which backs up the server data regularly. This seems to be connected one way or another from the threads I've read, but those are from aprox. two years ago while this started happening recently.

  • Often no connection to my mac mini

the connection between my mac mini and my apple tv  2 is no ok. often ther is an interrupted connection. between iphone 4 and ipad the connection is ok.
    why??
    thank you for your help
    cnwug

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

  • Possible to disable "server connection interrupted" message?

I have a mac mini (running lion) connected to the TV as a media center with a Time Capsule 4gen. as a router with all my media on. Connected to the Mac mini via cable. The problem is that I verry often get the message "server connection interrupted" on my mac mini. it could be in the middle of a movie playing from the TC and it does not stop playing but the message pops up (internet and wireless also works normal when this happens), witch is really annoying! I then have to do share screen on it from my macbook and press ignore. So my question is; does anyone know what could be the reason for this and have any ideas i coud try to fix it? if not does anyone know if it is possible to disable the message in question or make it "autoignore" it or anything?

Not at the moment.. it is a bug.

  • N97 unstable WLAN connection.

I've always had a niggling problem with N97, and previous N95 8GB, in which home WLAN connection seems to time out if left idle for few mins. Phone shows WLAN connection is established throughout, it's just not retrieving data. I can browse page to page, but if I leave a page open for a while the browser won't retrieve new page when requested, just sticks on connecting or get no gateway reply. If homescreen widget uses WLAN it stops updating. Last night I had downloaded a programme with iPlayer, when I checked it had completed I was asked to download the licence key, but as download had finished few mins before it stuck on connecting when attempting to retrieve it. Had to open file in RealPlayer, then download key when prompted.
As you can imagine this can get frustrating at times, especially when I'm in a hurry. I need to close the app/connection, wait a minute, then reconnect. It's not a native browser specific problem as I get same behaviour with Opera Mini, YouTube app, etc.
I'm not sure whether problem is with N97 or router, if I can rule out phone I can concentrate on investigating elsewhere. I've altered the router DHCP pool for static IP on PC, not sure if/how that would affect phone connectivity with WAN. IP address and DNS addresses are default set to automatic in phone for my WLAN. But as I say there's no problem connecting, it's that if it's not active for short time it won't get active again without reconnecting.
    Any ideas/comments?

You can try turning off the power saving in the advaced settings of WLAN on your N97.

  • Oracle Database 10g Express : Connection Interrupted

    Hi,
I am trying to connect to a database that I have installed on my computer, so it is a local connexion.
The database starts automatically (Windows services) and when I reach for the database page index :
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
I get the following error :
    Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.
Same error message when I use this URL : http://localhost:8080/apex

  • AP541N-E-K9 keeps dropping all WLAN connections

I hope someone could shed some light on an issue we have with our AP541N-E-K9 on the latest firmware.
Our issue sounds similar to this thread:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2028334
Our AP541N-E-K9 keeps dropping all WLAN connections and will not allow us to connect via WIFI. I have to switch the unit off and on but even so sometimes it will take 10 mins for the WLAN to accept new connections. Nothing has changed on the network for months as it is a very basic scenario ie Draytek DSL Router -> Cat5e cable -> AP541N-E-K9, thats it! The AP is really only used for guest access and may have about 15 staff connected via WIFI at any one time.
    Thanks

    Hi Alena,
I've changed the access point to use channel 1 which seemed to work for about 5 mins and then all wireless devices have dropped off and the even log keeps showing:
