WLAN connection remains active after receiving ema...

I have N95 with software release v 20.0.015 13-11-07 rm-159 Nokia N95 (83.01)
When I use Messaging to check my E-mail and connect to my mailbox over WLAN (any type opened, WEP or WPA and different HotSpots and at home), the application keeps WLAN active after messages are received. Therefore when I want to send a reply, I get message WLAN active, please close connection first. So, I have to switch to desktop, disconnect WLAN and then go back to Messaging to send a reply. Is this normal behavior of the messaging application?
Packet data connection is set to When needed.
The above problem was happening also with previous firmware versions...
Any suggestions?

Although I have a N95-8gb I'd have to say no thats not normal.
When I get an email and want to reply to it, I get the usual screen with the email address, Cc, Subject, and so I type in the reply and send. From there I get the select accesspoint. Either my phone carrier or my wifi thats around. I choose wifi (or wlan) and it sends.
I've turned "show WLAN avaliability" to never
My Packet Data connection to when needed
and Access Point to none. (as I'd rather choose at the time)
I hope it helps

  • Database connection remains open after close being called

I am using oracle OC4J as my application server. I am not using connection pool and I am using non-pooled datasource to get connection. The database connection is made at runtime and then closed. I want to test if the users' connection sessions have been killed after they logout the application. But when I checked the table v$session in the database, it shows one connection remaining. I checked my program, the close method has been called. Does anybody know the solution?

    Hi Chen,
This is just a suggestion for something to try -- only if you haven't
    already tried it, that is!
Try running OC4J in "debug" mode. Here are details on how to do that:

    Hope this helps you!
    Good Luck,

  • If you *just* earned your MCTS certification, will it remain "active" after the MCTS title retires this year (on January 31, 2014)?

...Or will your transcript show your certification as "retired, "legacy", or "expired", etc?
(I'm particularly concerned about "MCTS: Windows Server 2008 - Active Directory Configuration").
My understanding is: the MCTS "title retirement" just means newcomers will need to pursue the MCSA (or MCSE) after January, but existing MCTS certifications will remain *active* until the product's "end of mainstream support" date (January
13, 2015 for the Windows Server 2008 product line)...
Is my understanding correct? -The above MCTS will officially retire (on our transcripts) on: January 13, 2015?
    -Thank you.

    Hi, Digital guy 001.
Your MCTS certification title will never retire. Instead, it may be marked as "Legacy" on your transcript but that will be several years from now (2023? guessing...)
When an exam retires, it will no longer be available to be passed at the testing center. As well, even if a title is no longer available, you keep it on your transcript for many years to come, until it is eventually marked "Legacy".
Yes - you are correct in that title retirement means that people cannot earn that title any more - usually because the exams have retired,
but not always. For example, exam 70-640 is not scheduled for retirement at all, but the related MCITP titles are retired and the MCTS title will retire at the end of the month. On February 1st, 2014, the 70-640 exam will only be helpful
for those wanting to earn the title: MCSA: Windows 2008.
The word "Expired" applies to your opportunity to earn a certification title based on a date.
The word "Inactive" is only applied to MCSD and MCSE certifications titles that have passed their recertification dates. MCSEs must recertify every three (3) years while MCSDs must recertify every two (2)
years. If you haven't recertified, the term "Inactive" will appear next to the title on your transcript.
Please keep the terms separated in your head:
    Retired Exam (no longer available)
    Retired Title (no longer achievable)
"Legacy" transcript certification title (really old)
"Inactive" transcript certification title (requiring recertification).
    Good luck!

  • RFC Connection remains open after portal logoff

    Hi,
We have configured Universal Worklist in our EP7 EHP1 SPS4 Portal.
When a user connects to the Portal and launches the UWL it creates an RFC connection to the backend ECC. However, when the user moves away from UWL iview or logs out or closes the browser the RFC connection in the backend still
remains and is released only after the timeout value reached as set in ECC.
Are there any settings on the portal or ECC to release the session immediately once  user moves away from UWL or logs out of portal ?
    Thanks,
    Savy.

    Hi my friend
It costs time and resources to establish an RFC connection, therefore it is not immediately deleted but maintained by the system to be reused. But in case there're special purpose to control RFCs, here're 2 parameters to do so:
The parameter gw/gw_disconnect is a timeout in seconds to close the TCP connection between two SAP gateways if there is no RFC connetion on it for the given timeout. But if there is an active RFC connection onit it will not be closed even if there is no traffic on that RFC connection. Thats why you need another parameter.
The parameter gw/keepalive is used to periodically check all active RFC (and other) gateway connections if there was no traffic on them for the given time.

  • SQL Connections remain open after Crystal Report closes

I am wirting an interface to use the crystal report viewer to print reports, connecting to a Progress Open Edge 10.1B database.  From our application we declare the application, report, exportoptions and connectionproperties objects and pass these to the crystal reports viewer.  Once the report is printed we release the objects and set their variables for null.  However we are finding that the SQL connection to the database is remaining connected and we can only release the connection by manually going in a disconnecting.
I have read in forums that people use .dispose or .close to release the connection, however we do not have access to these methods as we do not use .NET.  Are there any methods we can use to disconnect these sql connections?

    Hi Dean,
Moved to the Legacy Application forums. Likely using the RDC as your report engine.
You should still be able to close and dispose of the report objects. They are not specific to .NET.
In VB it would look something like these lines::
        crReport.Close
        Set CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.ReportSource = Nothing
        Set crReport = Nothing
Once the report is closed it should disconnect from the DB. If you close the application does that disconnect?
Have you looked on 4GL's site for info on how to?
    Thank you
    Don

  • Orchestrations remain active after a period of Load....

    Hi
We have deployed a schema as a wcf service and have an itinerary set in the RL which invokes an Orchestration simple stuff right? This works fine when we simply, using a tool like SOAPUI, send a request, we always get back a response.
We have just started to do some load testing and without fail the first load test will work say 100 messages from 5 clients. Then any subsequent request (single or load) results in, for each request an active Receive Port and and Active Orchestration which
never finishes. When I look at the Orchestration debugger it appears as though the orchestration is stuck at the first Receive (active shape) in the orchestration and never gets to the next shape which in this case is just some tracing statements.
If I restart the host it all starts flowing again until we run some load tests again.
I am not sure what would be causing this behaviour. I thought it might be some throttling behaviour but nothing seems to help.
    Any ideas anyone???

  • ODBC connection remains open after disconnect

    Hello,
in my application I use 2 ODBC connects to 2 different ODBC drivers.
    My problem:
When I close one connection (with DBDisconnect), the connection on the database remains open until I close the second one.
    Is this a known behavior?
Is there a way to force the closing or to make it independant of the other connection?
    Regards
    Fred
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As ODBC connections are not inherently included in the CVI environment, I looked up the DBDisconnect function and it says that the DBDisconnect function disconnects the last connected ODBC database. So it is expected behavior.

  • E51 can't connect to internet after software upgra...

Few weeks ago I updated the firmware for the E51, it is now the latest: 200.34.36.
However after this update internet from phone stopped working. I can't use e-mail, browser or any other app that needs connection to the internet. It will not work over gprs, edge, hsdpa nor wifi. All it says is: connection failed, it will not even try to bring up packet data connection, with wifi it will connect to the network but apps can't use it.
However, while connecting with a laptop over bluetooth connection hsdpa data works perfectly.
    Any tips?

Had the same problem after upgrading the phone and restoring the backup. Installed software disapeared or didnt work properly. When trying to connect to the WLAN it just said "connection not available" but the connected icon for WLAN was indicating it was online. When i tried to connect the second time i got this error: "wlan connection already active". So i did a hard reset by pressing * and 3 and green button while the phone is off, keep pressed, switch on the phone an wait for the PIN to enter. Violá now everything works perfectly.
Glad i dont rely on only one method of backing up my information. All i lost was some time reconfiguring the device.

    2-remove the memory card
    3- switch off the device
4- it's kinda tricky but you need two people to do this press the red, green, camera and power button
if you do it correctly you will feel vibration and then it will start once again .

  • E71X WLAN Connectivity Errors with apps

I'm experience two types of errors:
1)OVI Store and Media net browser apps return the error: "WLAN connection already active. Close it and try again."  When I first bought the phone I was able to access the OVI store through Wifi.  This error prevents this Ovi Store from accessing the WIFI connection.
    2) Even thought the phone shows that it is connected to the access point, when I startup the Opera Web browser, it prompts for a WLAN connection.  I would think that Opera or any other
I think that these two symptoms are tied to the same root cause.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm hoping that this is a settings \ configuration fix.
    Thanks!

I can tell a idea about your second question. If your phone already connected to the access point opera browser will ask to connect to internet. It is a matter of the application not a bug of your phone. There are some settings to Opera mini application. There is a option as communication . Under that option there is connectivity. It is normally selected as ask first time only. That is you opera mini ask for the internet connection although it is already connected to the internet. If you don't wish to happen it again you have to select always allowed.

    iTunes RADIO is not working.
“iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.” Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so …
iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.
Solve this problem of yours ASAP for us, your numerous disgruntled, dissatisfied customers of iTunes. You can do better, should, and really –in all fairness- must.

NOTE:  no password for iTunes exists in my Keychain. Is this a problem?
Apple ACCOUNT ID, and iTunes ID password, works but not to access iTunes with my healthy internet connection.
Apple store id It works via direct internet connetion but not through iTunes.  Very strange.

  • After Updating Mountain Lion, Mail & Safari keep crashing; WLAN Connection fails

    After Updating Mountain Lion, Mail & Safari keep crashing; WLAN Connection fails;
I have updatet Mountain Lion and since then, Mail & Safari keep crashing plus: WLAN Connections keeps on failing from time to time.
My Router has the newest firmware, i am clueless what to do.
I even cannot shut down my mac properly.

    Hello you all,
I also had the problem of a disconnecting wifi while my imac was sleeping. I did not have the reconnecting issue after sleep, but the lost connection issue during sleep which made it impossible to reach my imac for things like homesharing, apple tv or remote desktop. I have a late 2012 iMac with a clean ML 10.8.2 on it and wirelessly connected to an apple time capsule (same as an airport extreme). My partner has a mid 2007 iMac, also with an ML 10.8.2 on it.
I tried every single solution I could find on the internet, such as changing the router's security from wpa2 to wpa, changing the MTU from automatic to manual 1453, router reboots, re-installations, re-configurations, keychain clean-ups, everything.
Eventually I solved my problem with these steps and now it works as a charm. I can still find the iMac with the remote app, even after 12 hours of sleep:
My time capsule router is set on automatic MTU and encrypted with WPA2 and I use  the 5Ghz network!
    1. Cleaned all the wifi passwords in keychain on my iMac
    2. Created a new network location in system preferences
    3. In this location I deleted the bluetooth pan and bluetooth dun connection.
    4. In this location I changed the preferred connection-order to wifi on #1 and ethernet on #2.
    5. Restarted my iMac.
Now I still have a connection when it sleeps and I can wake it to low profile using the remote app (homesharing) and everything works fine.
Hope more people wille be helped by this.
