"wlan disable all" command -- will it kill my remote access?
Hi All,
I am having an issue with one of my WLC's in a remote part of the world. The issues started after I changed the management IP address. After the change, I can no longer access the GUI. I can get in via telnet, but I have to clear arp on my local PC's IP and immediately telnet to the WLC for it to work, and I only get about 45 seconds of access before it shuts me out. Very strange since my PC is 4,000+ miles away.
I want to roll back to the old management IP to try and reverse troubleshoot this, but since I don't have GUI access, I have to put the command in on the CLI. When I enter the command to change it: config interface address management 192.168.159.5 255.255.255.0 192.168.159.1 it says "failed: wlans are using this IP, disable wlans first." However, when I show the wlans, the staff one shows interface name is "management," which is the interface that has the IP I want to change.
(Cisco Controller) >show wlan summary
Number of WLANs.................................. 3
WLAN ID WLAN Profile Name / SSID Status Interface Name
1 Scrubbed - Staff / Scrubbed - Staff Enabled management
2 Scrubbed - Mobile / Scrubbed - Mobile Enabled fc_external
3 Scrubbed - Guest / Scrubbed - Guest Enabled fc_external
Can I do wlan disable all and remain connected to the WLC? My telnet access is coming from a VPN in the US and over MPLS to a router at the site in the remote country, so I'm not connected to it via wireless to my knowledge, but that "interface name: management" above has me second guessing this decision.
I'm not entirely sure to be honest, as I inherited this piece of equipment - it is someone else's work. I have the following:
(Cisco Controller) >show interface summary
Number of Interfaces.......................... 3
Interface Name Port Vlan Id IP Address Type Ap Mgr Guest
fc_external 2 untagged 192.168.1.3 Dynamic No No
management 1 untagged 192.168.158.100 Static Yes No
virtual N/A N/A 1.1.1.1 Static No No
My VPN tunnel originates in the US, where I am sitting to that 158 subnet at the site, and adding access to that 192.168.1.3 that is sitting on the dynamic interface isn't something I can do as that subnet (192.168.1.x) lives elsewhere as well from the data center's perspective. Hopefully that makes sense. The setup is not ideal currently. I need to change it but for now I'm stuck.

As described above.
I do not own neither a Mac nor an iOS devices. May I still be able to use all features of Time Capsule, including remote access over the internet? You will have setup issues.. as the latest AC model requires a Mac or iOS device.. eventually apple will release a windows version of the utility.. and the current one does partly work but Apple seem in no hurry.
You can find a Mac or iPad equipped friend to do the setup.. once setup the Windows computer can use it.
BUTT you cannot access it from remote..
Not with windows. You need BTMM and iCloud account. AFAIK even with those you cannot reach the TC.
You can do it manually.. using a vpn. Buy a proper vpn router and use a vpn client on the windows computer.. the TC would be in bridge to the network..
Apple really did not make this for windows.. and SMB access is only provided on LAN access not WAN. -

Will the Apple Digital AV adapter work for the DISH Remote Access app?
I have a Sling adapter hooked up to my 722K DISH receiver, and the DISH Remote Access app installed on an iPad 2. Great app, btw.
What I'd like to know is if I'll be able to use this AV adapter to watch my recorded shows on a TV. Hotel room situation, and I would just like a larger screen every once in a while.
So far, my understanding doing some searches here is that the adapter will work for Netflix, but won't for HBO GO (bummer).
Since I'll be phasing out Netflix soon anyway, and this adapter isn't going to work for HBO GO content, I am just wondering if it will for the Dish Remote Access app before I bother to buy one.
If not, is there something that would be a better choice? I did look at the component and composite cables too, but couldn't quite make up my mind.
Thanks for any input.iphone4 dont support mirror so only apps which support the normal tvout will work on iphone4 witht he hdmi out setup

I cannot re-install PSE 10. I have disabled all virus prorection. It will not install "Shared Technologies"
If running (check Task Manager) end the ElementsAutoAnalyzer and DynamicLinkManager processes. Then run the installer by right-clicking it and selecting Run as Administrator. That has always worked for me in past versions of PSE, although others report it didn't for them. Certainly worth a try.
Cheers,

Which Get command will display all $True & $False parameters
Hi,
I am a newbie when it comes to commands in the EMC. We have Exchange 2010. I have 2 mailboxes that should do the same thing but they do not. Both are calendar mailboxes (resource mailboxes I think maybe) and one mailbox is working correctly
and the other is not.
I would like to go into the EMC and run some commands to compare the settings of both mailboxes. However if I run the Get-Mailbox command I only get one line of info back. (I am not actually sure what the correct Get-Mailbox??? command is at this time,
I have that on my work computer).
I would like to know what Get-Mailbox command will display all of the $True and all of the $False parameters. I have seen these displayed on websites while trying to troubleshoot this issue, but I haven't seem the command posted that returns all of
this information, I need that command!
I hope I made sense, I can explain further if needed. Thanks in advance! What is the command that will output this...

Im using an HP pavilion dv6 - 6b56el with Windows 7 Home Premium.
First install on 15-DEC-2011
When I put the PC to sleep it will disable all USB ports.
When I restart the box or put it to hibernate (and wake it again) the USB ports wil work again.
This happens when running on battery or connected to a power supply.
As far as I can see I checked all power settings that could possibly disable the USB ports.
I think the latest changes to the system made before this happens were automatic windows updates on 18-DEC-2011 and 19-DEC-2011.Hi,
There are some computers on the market which have special USB port(s) stay awake during the computer in sleep mode. In your case, you can change this using Device Manager under power management tab (un-tick "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power").
Regards.

I can't get the IOS 5 to work for windows Vista. I'm running kaspersky pure 2.0, windows firewall and windows defender. I have turned them all off, I then attach my Ipod 4th gen and I get the "cannot connect to itunes update server". I ran diagnostics in itunes and it tells me I dont have a internet connection. I'm on the internet right now, and I DO have a internet connection, but it tells me Itunes says otherwise. I'm able to send this message on the same pc with internet connection but keep running into this error. I have now read discussiong boards through apple and disabled all my firewalls, still no luck. I was able to update the lates version of itunes, and just waiting to get my ipod updated now, please help me.
On the computer you should be able to go to the network properites. Go to the TCP part and unchec the line that says obtaind DNS automatically and check the one that says use the following. Add the 8.8.8.8 and Google other 8.8.4.4.

How do I disable all non-essential components in the CS6 installer
A new question in the spirit of http://forums.adobe.com/thread/548877 and http://forums.adobe.com/message/2778575, where I asked this question for CS4 and CS5 and eventually discovered how to do this (at least for CS4; CS5 was a mess...): How do I disable all the non-essential components in the Photoshop CS6 installer?
I already found the payloads/Media_db.db sqlite 3 database and wiped the DependencyData table. This goes a long way - unlike CS5, which was a maze of hidden xml configs and sqlite databases, for CS6 just wiping this single table will give the user full control over what the installer will put in the computer. With the dependencies wiped, we can now see all the stuff it's actually going to install:
Bridge (normal and x64) - 187 and 262 MB
CMaps (normal and x64) - 7.2 and 7.2 MB
CSXS Extensions - 1.3MB
CSXS Infrastructure - 6.8MB
Color - photoshop, EU, JA, NA - 1.5, 2.1, 3.0, 2.5MB
Video profiles - 4.7KB
Dynamic Link Media Server - 96MB
DynamicLink Support - 6.1MB
ExtendScript Toolkit - 19MB
Extension Manageer - 16MB
Fonts recommended (normal and x64) - 110 and 110MB (why are there x86 and x64 versions? more of an open question than one that really needs an answer, but this is not how fonts work. There are no separate x86 and x64 flavoured OpenType fonts)
Fonts required (normal and x64) - 123 and 123MB
Hunspell Linguistics Plugin (normal and x64) - 181 and 181MB
Linguistics (normal and x64) - 46 and 46MB
Mini Bridge (normal and x64) - 4.0MB
PDF Library Files (normal and x64) - 75 and 75MB
Photoshop (normal and x64) - 486 and 563MB
Photoshop Support - 9.4MB
Player for Embedding 3.3 (normal and x64) - 21 and 26MB
Switchboard 2.0 - 1.1MB
Type Support (normal and x64) - 6 and 6MB
Winsoft Linguistics Plugin (normal and x64) - 8.2 and 8.5MB
XMP Panels - 4.9MB
ColorCommonSetCMYK - 13MB
ColorCommonSetRGB - 8.6KB
Camera Profiles Installer - 285MB
MSVC++2005 redist. (normal and x64) - 11 and 11MB
MSVC++2008 redist. (normal and x64) - 11 and 11MB
MSVC++2010 redist. (normal and x64) - 11 and 11MB
MSVC80_CRT (normal and x64) - 0.0 and 0.0KB
PDF Settings - 2.4MB
Camera Raw 7 (normal and x64) - 22 and 24MB
Suite Shared Configuration - 3.2MB
Some of these things we really want installed (Photoshop, CMaps, XMP panels, Type Support and required fonts and color profiles are pretty much the minimal set required for a functional Photoshop installation), but some of these things really have no right to be silentedly installed. There's a good gigabyte of nonsense that someone who just wants Photoshop has no need for. Denying them the option to unselect these things during installation is a bit evil (whatever happened to the 'advanced' or 'custom' installation option? That was a good option).
That said, there's still something funky going on - unselecting all components indicates that the installation will required 0.0KB on disk. However, selecting Photoshop CS6 x64, which indicates its size is 563MB, results in an installation that requires 677MB on disk. Similar things happen for other components; CMaps is 7.2MB, but when you select it, it suddenly requires 121MB on disk.
Much last last time, I fully appreciate the install team's choices in making sure the installer will always work as long as people don't tamper with it, but I'm not one of those people - I do tamper with it, because I want to control exactly what lands on my disk. So: how do I find out what these secret things are that are not listed after wiping the dependency data so that I can explicitly pick individual components? Which additional steps are required to reveal the hidden dependencies that will apparently still be installed, or aren't factored into the size indication for the various components? And finally, how do I make the installer NOT determine that "this is not a genuine installer, you may have a counterfeit product" =)
I know it's been altered; I modified it, because I think your install process is trying to force stuff onto my computer that I never asked for, nor will ever use (I know they're quality products, they just have no right to exist on my computers. If I had the choice to say no, I'd acknowledge them as quality products instead).

NB: if Eric Wilde ends up replying to this post: I still remember your willingness to help figure this out for CS5, two years ago. Thank you again for that.I can see why you wouldn't want to release information that lets people set up arbitrary installers, but that's why I mostly wanted those two specific hashes. The installer team can just generate them without ever saying how, and we will only be able to use them to validate the installer for the modification that lets you pick components. This should in no way interfere with the desire to prevent dangerous installers making it into the wild; in fact, it kind of guarantees that's impossible.
I know you can't guarantee it'll work or test it, and that's fine. Past experience has shown that CS3, CS4 and CS5 work fine with updates (and most updates don't apply to Photoshop, they apply to the additional components that I traditionally don't install), so I'm pretty sure it'll work fine with CS6 too, although of course it could go wrong in which case I can always fall back to a normal install.
Would you be willing to ask the install team whether they could generate just these two numbers, based on the single SQL command run on Media_db.db from the main payload directory? I can fully understand not wanting to give the "here is how you generate the hashes" information, but generating two specific numbers that don't work for anything but this specific query should be just as safe as the various hashes we can already see for the other Media_db.db files in the various payload directories (so they wouldn't reveal anything not already known about how to reverse engineer the hashing algorithm). It'd help tech-savvy customers quite a bit without playing into the hands of criminally minded jerks (I actually had the pleasure of running into a duped CS3 Extended disc several years ago! I had ordered CS3 for personal use, and mysteriously received a CS3 extended version with a volume licensing key in what looked like an official normal CS3 box. Needless to say, authorities and Adobe were notified).
<<I think the right answer to this issue is to simply remove from the products those items that are not required to execute the product. That's actually something we're aggressively pursuing this summer so that the product size reduces in future releases, particularly for PS.>>
It's not possible to take components out of the payloads directory without the installer complaining that errors have occurred. It really wants all those files there when it starts =(
<<Have you investigated using AAMEE? I don't think that will get rid of all the "extraneous" pieces; but, it does provide some flexibility in creating an install package that can then be pushed out through normal deployment tools (e.g. SCCM).>>
I did, but unfortunately AAMEE requires the use of a volume license key, which I don't have. We only have individual products keys for the machines that will get Photoshop CS6.

Hi All, I have a strange situation here. We are running Essbase 6.5.1 on Win2K. Whenever a user tries to COPY a db from App Manager. It halts all operations on the essbase server. It doesn't allow any new connection, and any user trying to connect either get a hanging screen or a msg saying "Administrator has temporarily disable user commands" Any leads on this message will be helpful. Thanks in advance Maneesh Hari
We also run Essbase 6.5.1 on Win2K platform.Essbase is set up to freeze any activity (access to essabse.sec file, calc runs...) during a database copy to avoid any db/file corruption. Thus, it is not a bug but standard "behaviour".To avoid that, Hyperion advised us to upgrade to 7.0.1 in order to setup several Essbase agents. When db copy is performed, only activities related to concerned essbase agent would be frozen. I have not tested this theory but I would be interested in getting confirmation of this 7.0.1 feature.

Is it possible to disable escape command that is quiting without warning?

Is it possible to disable escape command in ACR ?
thanks in advance

Come on! Could you tell me any professional application, that discards all your work after you have pressed just one key?…
Any application, whether professional or otherwise, that uses modal dialog boxes follows the universal convention where the Escape key equals hitting the CANCEL button in the modal dialog box.
Remember that ACR is just a plug-in, and the way that plug-in is designed is to work through a single modal box with multiple tabs and settings.
Petrbr9 wrote:
…In some applications Esc is rolling out the last action but not the whole work…
…and there is your answer: until you hit either Done, Open or Save in the ACR modal dialog box, you have not applied any action to your work at all, you have just been looking at the preview when you manipulate the sliders and fields in the various tabs.
It's no different than calling up a filter in Photoshop, say a noise-reduction filter, and hitting the Escape key before applying the settings to the image after fiddling with the sliders.
My advice remains to keep in mind ACR is a modal dialog box and stop hitting the Escape key before applying your settings to the image. It is that simple. After all, the darned Escape key is physically located way out in the back of left field on the keyboard for that reason.
Incidentally, if you expect to get help here in these user to user forums in the future, you'd better lose the attitude, buddy.

How do I disable all wireless functions on the 309g? Like kill it forever!
Hi ETP,
1. From printer front panel, press the wrench icon.
2. Press Network.
3. Press Wireless Radio.
4. Press Off.
At this point, wired Ethernet and USB are the only connection methods left.

Our organization requires web services with many plugins. In order to support the latest browsers, we must deploy FF13 company wide. Currently the installation disables all 3rd party plugins by default, requiring you to enable them manually. Therefore, this makes managing a FF13 deployment very difficult. Is there any way to configure it to deploy without it disabling plugins?
Do you really mean plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) or do you mean extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)?
Firefox shouldn't disable plugins unless they are blacklisted, but will display a dialog that shows which (third-party) extensions are found an allow to enable third party extensions.<br />
There is probably no way to avoid such an alert, but you can try to copy extensions to the distribution/extensions folder where also the default theme resides.

I disabled all of my add-ons and my Firefox theme is the default that comes with the download.
I cleared my Cache every time I start Firefox up, and I set my internet history to automatically become deleted once I close my Firefox.
The problem is that despite all of my add-ons being disabled and my internet history becoming wiped clean once I close the program Firefox, ***With only one tab open*** takes up 48 Mb.
One time I had only ten tabs open and it took up 600,000 k in my processes (585 Mb.)
This is driving me crazy as in I have been trying to figure it out all day.
I used the Google Chrome Web browser but every tab I open up it creates a new Chrome in the processes and each process takes up 48 Mb.
What is going on?
I used Firefox 3.6
and then I tried Firefox 4
both did the same thing. What can I do to fix this?'''bold text'''hello, please install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
