WLAN disconnects serveral times

Hi there,
since some months ago i have the problem, that my WLAN disconnects from the network without any action from my side?! Already checked a driver update, but i cannot find a newer one then November 2004 which is still installed. The following message appears in the windows event manager after the disconnect:
The system detected that network adapter \DEVICE\TCPIP_{467E7AC0-72A8-49D3-B290-7A66F008C581} was disconnected from the network, and the adapter's network configuration has been released. If the network adapter was not disconnected, this may indicate that it has malfunctioned. Please contact your vendor for updated drivers.
Can anybody please help to get the downloads working again? ;-)
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
you write nothing about which WLAN card is used in your notebook .... how should anybody know which WLAN card is used in your notebook (you write nothing .. no notebook model, no WLAN card vendor) :\
If a Intel 2200BG WLAN card is installed in your notebook, there's a new driver available which improve the signal quality or rather the disconnect's from Access points (known failure of the old driver). The Version number of the new Driver is V9.0.2.31 - you can download it here:
http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-010623.htm
For other WLAN cards please refer to the vendor site.

    Hi,
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.

my mac book air suddely disconnects many times the wifi while using wifi

Lots of things can impact wifi connections.  If you are at the marginal edge of the wifi range (which depends not only on distance, but what's between you and the transmitter) you may find the connection dropping in and out.  Sometimes a minor repositioning of the computer or transmitter can solve the issue.
As well, interference can also create problems.  For instance, microwave ovens are really good at disrupting 2.4Ghz signals, and that the frequency used most often in wifi routers--so if someone turns on the microwave and it's between you and the transmission point it won't be surprising if the connection drops.  As well, metal blocks the signal fairly effectively, so if (say) ductwork is between the CPU and the wireless router there can be problems.
Finally, I've run into some combos of devices and routers that just don't seem to like each other :-) .  That said, I've not hit that problem with either Air I'm running (an 11" and a 13"), though obviously I've not tried to connect them to every type of router out there.
Just this week I was at a hotel and in my room the hotel wifi was "interesting" with every device I tried (iPhone, Android phone, Kindle Fire, iPad and the two Airs) dropping connection regularly from the work desk.  Turned out if I moved the devices over to the nightstand on the other end of the room (not the best work environment) all of the problems went away, so it clearly was a signal issue and the exact layout of that room and the hotel's wifi.
If the machine has a problem when positioned close to a variety of routers, then I'd suspect a hardware issue with the wifi card in the Air and get that checked by Apple.  Similarly, if your problem is with your home router, I'd check to see if other devices also are getting dropped, since there could be a hardware issue on the router.

  • Why does my router disconnect every time I sleep the computer? Why did this only start to happen recently?

Why does my router disconnect every time I sleep the computer? Why did this only start to happen recently?

Actually it does with Ethernet too: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2412?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
What happens when the Mac goes to sleep (not just into idle mode or display sleep)?
    On all Macs:
The microprocessor goes into a low-power mode
Video output is turned off, and a connected display may turn off or enter its own idle state
Apple-supplied hard disks spin down; third-party hard disks may spin down
    On portable Macs:
The Ethernet port turns off, if applicable (see note below)
    Expansion card slots turn off
The built-in modem, if present, turns off (see note below)
An AirPort card, if present, turns off (see note below)
The USB ports only responds to the power key on an external keyboard (see below)
The optical media drive, if present, spins down
Audio input and output turns off
Keyboard illumination, if a feature of your portable computer, turns off
But see the note about selecting, "Wake For Network Access" in Energy Saver preferences.
Note: Portable computers have no network connectivity when in sleep mode, but can wake if the Energy Saver option "Wake for network access" is enabled. If you wish to use file sharing or don't want to interrupt your Internet connection, you should not manually put the computer to sleep, and you should drag the "Computer sleep" slider to Never.

    Hi Jennifer @ Verizon
A simple reboot of the router and cantenna is not going to permanently fix this issue. Its been going on at least since August 2012. The issue is a bad software on the cantenna and its affecting areas such as KY, GA, TN, and OH.  I have emailed the manufacturer of the cantenna, I think its PCI and they emailed me telling me that its a known issue but no idea when it will be fixed. It could be a few week or a few months or possibly at least a year.
I think what Verizon should do is refund the money including installation and any fees paid for the service to all affected customers and take down the service until fixed or find a new manufacturer for the Cantenna or work with the engineers with PCI to come up with firmware fix asap. This issue is obviously affecting enough customers where telling your customers to wait is not going to work anymore. I don't mind waiting if I know that a fix is definitely coming and an actual date. Its very frustrating to have a company not support their customers in coming up with a fix on this asap such as a solution within the next 2 weeks. I was in the middle of taking another exam and got an F on it because your service disconnected me.
I think I might join the bandwagon and if this issue is not fixed by the end of January 2013 I'll be calling for a full refund. I am not confident that a permanently fix will be generated by Jan 2013 which is sad. Is anyone else with me - I mean what is it going to take for Verizon to come up with a solution on this permanently. The sad part of all of this is Verion tells me its an issue with a firmware on the cantenna and the manufacturer of the cantenna tells me to  be patient and wait for a fix and when I pressed the issue some more, the manufacturer of the cantenna tells me Verizon has to approve the fix but Verizon says they are waiting for a fix from the manufacturer. So, I am not sure what it is.

  • My ipod disconnected all time

    I have big problem
My Ipod ha the error : Use Itunes to resotre

    Plz help me...

    Ipod Nano   Windows XP Pro

I've been encountering the same problems that other users have been describing with syncing my iPod and automatically disconnecting itself. I've applied the suggested fixes that have been suggested (the 5 Rs, reg hacks, shut down background apps, etc.). I've finally got it back to the point where iTunes will recognize my iPod and the first few songs the I sync (from 1 - 2 songs up to 5 - 8 songs) will get uploaded to my iPod, but then when I try to upload another song or two, my iPod will disconnect itself again automatically.
With 4400 songs and 110 videos to move back onto the iPod, it'd be a pain in the butt to sync them to the iPod a little bit at a time.
I have closed iTunes and shut down the iTunesHelper.exe process and was able to keep the iPod connected for as long as I wanted to. Of course, when I launched iTunes, it didn't detect my iPod.
However, I've been having problems with my computer's power supply in general lately and I suspect that this may be causing my iPod to disconnect soon after connecting to my computer. What could be happening is that the iPod is trying to draw power from the computer's power supply and when the iPod can't get enough, it will basically give up and disconnect itself. This is only a hunch.
I'll be replacing the power supply on my computer to see if that does the trick.
I should note that my wife also has a 60GB Classic and has not encountered any of the same problems. It's been smooth sailing for her.

I am considering upgrading from mavericks to yosemite. Do I need to disconnect my time machine external backup disc drive before I upgrade.

    Thanks,
I was concerned that if the upgrade went wrong for any reason, it may corrupt the back up drive as well as the hard drive and I would somehow loose the ability to recover my files.

  • Satellite C660-108 WLAN disconnects on battery power

Have tried to post on an older theread but they are locked as resolved. Well mine isn't. Usual problem of WLAN being fine on mains adaptor but WLAN disconnects from internet intermittenetly on battery power. I have...
    - Adjusted the power save settings
    - Deleted the WLAN (Realtek 8188CE) driver
    - Installed a new driver from the Realtek site
    - Enabled the 802.11d which was disabled.
What have I missed? There's clearly a need for Toshiba to fix this problem with a proper patch.
    Thanks in anticipation..

  • Nokia E7 WLAN disconnects regularly

Can Nokia PLEASE fix the E7 bug where it doesn't work properly with WPA2 encryption on Wi-fi routers? It's driving me mad.
I've tested everything (devices, routers) and the random disconnects ONLY happen on the E7 and on WPA2.
And yes, I have latest firmware on the E7, running Symbian Anna etc.

I got the same problems on my E7-00.  The wlan disconnects 1 minute without activity. When I manually connect the wlan and use internet connection the wlan are connected as long as I surf.  This occurred after the last system update on my nokia E7. Previously this worked normally.
A friend of mine uses a Nokia E7-00 and has not implemented the last upgrade.  His wlan are connected as long he is in the range of the known wlan.
This bug must be the responsibility of Nokia to fix.

  • Bluetooth disconnects every time

When connected to any Bluetooth device, Spotify disconnects every time my music changes songs. Why?

It's a bug in the current version.
You can download to 3.2 using this apk http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/spotify-ltd/spotify/spotify-3-2-0-1197-android-apk-download/
You'll have to wait for Spotify to acknowledge and fix the problem, if you want to use the most up-to-date version.
And god knows how long that will be.

  • N8 re-connect to wlan all the time.

I have search the forum and it seems that many people have the same problem. However I have not yet found a solution to the problem.
Widgets are set to offline. Datapacket is "only when needed".
    Switch to wlan is "manual"
Data use in home country is  "Always ask" . It connects without asking anyway!
Email is set up to sync every 30 min. This is not the issue.
I have social 1.2 installed but widgets are set to offline so it doesn't update.
The phone is ALLWAYS connected to wlan. If I tried to disconnect, it reconnects immediately. I can make it work by setting the phone to offline -> remove the access point (home network) -> put it back to online.
If I try to connect to home network via wlan guide now, it says "connection not available". However, if I restart the phone here then I can connect via wlan guide.
This will make the connection work properly. Email will connect when syncing and then disconnect again like it should.
If I restart the phone once more (now the home wlan connection is set up) then I will be back on square one. WLAN connected all the time I refuses to disconnect.
I would like to call this a proper BUG. This has nothing to do with setup.
Does anybody have a solution for this or do I have to wait until Nokia FIXES this?
    I'm running PR1.2
    regards
    /Jens

I do have the wlan set to a higher priority than packet data. This is the way it should be I believe. I want it to connect via wlan first then packet data if no wlan is available.
I just tried to kill the "xmppservice.exe" process and this solves the problem. However this requires that I buy a 3rd party task manager. So this isn't really a solution. Also this needs to be done each time the phone reboots.
I also noticed that it is not just connected all the time but it is continuously sending data at slow rate.
The question here is really what does the xmppservice do I why does it work when shut down?
