WLAN light not lit

I just got my router yesturday and I still can't get my router to connect to the internet probably because the WLAN light is not lit.  What should I do to make it light up?  Internet connection is working fine and all the cords are connected but the router is still not able to connect to the internet. What am i doing wrong?

Connect one compter directly to router ,check is it going online.
If so then open routers set up page using http://192.168.1.1 ,you will get username & password screen ,leave username blank & default password is admin.
Click on "wireless settings" tab ,check that SSID broadcast is enabled or not.By defult it should be marked enabled.
If computer is not online ,then check the Ip address you are getting & try to configure the router.
You can also try to reset the router for 20-30 seconds .After that check you are getting WLAN light or not .

  • Internet light not lit, tech support not helping, PPP Down?

Hey guys, I have a problem. I just ordered Verizon's HSI and yesterday was my service ready date. I receieved  a call saying that my service was ready, except it's not working at all.
I spent a majority of yesterday evening on the phone with tech support, which seemed like they were clueless and not helping. here's my problem.
I have a Westell 7500 modem/router. The DSL light is a solid green, however the Internet light is out. It's not red or green, just unlit. I logged into the router settings and i see this big warning: Gateway is not ready for internet connection. Well, that's no good. It also says DSL Connected, but PPP down.
I went into the connections of the router settings and I changed the login information to my verizon account information, but that didn't seem to do anything. It still says the PPP status is down.
No matter what I do, I am not connected to the internet it seems. I talked to a represenative on the phone and he said that the problem is on Verizon's end, but he seemed kind of confused so I don't know if he really knows what he was talking about.
I'm not really a happy camper with the service so far, so I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. God forbid I switch to Comcast and their lousy bandwidth cap, but if this isn't resolved soon I may have to resort to that.
Or if there is a tier 3 DSL support number with professionals, i would LOVE to have that.

Thanks for the replies. I have spoken with tech support but I really don't think they know what to do. Each time they just tell me to "go to the router setting and click connect. Oh it's not working? Well... I'll call back tomorrow. It will work tomorrow"
They're supposed to call me back "within 24-48 hours" with good news that my internet will suddenly be working. I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll update with any news as I'm sure i'm not the only one going through this.

  • Battery indicator lights not lit on side

is there a preference to show the lights on the side for the battery indicator?

If you follow the tiny pin holes of the indicator lights from the front towards the back of the machine, there is a circular indentation the size of 3/16 of an inch less than a quarter inch next to the last pin hole. Push that tiny circle in and the LED will light up for 3 seconds.
I assume all 13-inch aluminum MacBooks have the same design. You may want to inspect yours closely under some bright lights.

  • HT4628 I recently transferred my internet service to another state. Have not yet moved my imac, just my pc laptop. I cannot get my airport extreme wireless router to work. The green light stays lit when everything is connected but I can't connect to the i

I recently transferred my internet service to another state.I have not yet moved my imac, just my pc laptop. I cannot get my airport extreme wireless router to work. The green light stays lit when everything is connected but I can't connect to the internet. Any suggestions?

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
    Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

Based on the manual for this device, the status light staying lit refers to “the FieldPoint-20XX did not power on correctly.”  I would suggest removing all software from this controller and reinstall it.

  • One dot not lit in macbook air green isight light

does anyone know what makes up the green isight light in 2012 macbook air?  I notice that one "dot" is not lit.  Not sure if I sure if it's worth taking to store to fix etc. although still under warranty.   Don't want them to open the screen for one tiny LED light. Is it many tiny bulbs or just one?  Would appreciate any info!

As far as I know, it is only one LED.  If the green indicator lights when in use and goes out when not, I don't think anything is wrong.  However, if you want an authoritative answer, contact Apple MacBook Air Support.  They can tell you if a service visit is in order.

"illuminate keyboard in low light conditions " box is missing under keyboard preferences and my keyboard backlight is not lit.
    Any help?

Did you used to have the option?  I did, and when my keyboard backlight stopped working, I followed instructions on 'Resetting the System Management Controller' http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964.  After I did that, the menu option completely disappeared, and I can't get it back.
I have the 2010 MacBook Pro (Intel), it used to work, but since moving to Lion, it hasn't, and now the option is gone altogether.

  • WLAN light does not come on - WRT54G

My router timed out while I was updating the firmware and now I can't get to the router's setup page up to reinstall the firmware or do anything else for that matter. All lights come on except for the WLAN light. I've powered down, pressed the reset button etc... All this started because of dropped connections that could not be re-established unless I went through the whole reinstallation process.....
    Any help would be appreciated...
    Thanks

I hope you did  not upgrade the firmware wirelessly....

  • Samsung SCH-LC11 4G Hotspot  4g LED not lit

Just got the Samsung SCH-LC11 4G Hotspot today. I live in an area where 4g is not available. The 3G LED is green and I have no issue accessing the internet but the 4G led is not lit at all. The manual gives no reason for the led to be dark. Any ideas?

Which lights for 4G / EVDO indicates which mode the Hotspot is working in.  Only 1 mode can be used at a time.
If you are in an area where there is no 4G then the modem is not operating in 4G mode so the EVDO light should be lit instead.
You can see the modem status by using the Admin Web GUI (http://192.168.1.1) under Configuration -> Diagnostics.
When you press the Modem button, it will display info about the modem values, 2 of which will be the Signal for EVDO and 4G.

  • Macbook Pro, charger plugged in but NOT lit up and NOT charging

I have my MacBook Pro plugged in to the charger but the green light on the charger is NOT lit up and the battery indicator states "Not Charging."  Any ideas/suggestions?

Check the connections both at the MBP and the charger for dirt, debris and discoloration.  The pins in the charger connection should move freely.
    Wall outlet live?
Test the charger on another Mac.  Try a functional charger on your MBP.
    Try a SMC reset:

    Hi Ritesh,
If WiFi is important to you, don't under any circumstances upgrade to V11. I can not get the phone to get the IP settings automatically (i.e. via DHCP) in any WiFi network, regardles of the security or lack thereof.

  • Befw11s4 Dead Radio - LEDs not lit, no signal - help!

    Hi Linksys,
I've got several Linksys devices, including a G-router, and they're great.
But that's not what I'm writing about today....
In short: I fiddled with the WiFi in a vacation rental house, and I think I broke it.
    The long:
I'm renting a house on cape cod, and they have a befw11s4 wifi router.
When we arrived, it was working. But since the SSID was broadcast as
"linksys", I was worried about privacy. So I logged in using the default
password "admin", and discovered that it was a typical default situation.
So I decided to turn on security for the week, then I'd turn it off. No
    big deal, right?
Unfortunately, after turning on WEP security (it doesn't seem to have
WPA), the radio went dead. So I did a factory reset from the button, and
that didn't help. Then I hardwired with cat5 and did a factory reset
within the admin interface, and the radio is still dead. By "dead", I
mean that no SSID shows up at all. And the WLan lights (WLAN Activity,
WLAN Link) do not light up - ever. The setup screen looks like this:
    Wireless: [x] Enable
    SSID: linksys
    Channel: 6
    WEP: [x] Disable
    Here is a screenshot:
    http://www.thornsoft.com/Misc/linksys_setup.JPG
I've tried disabling/enabling the wireless, changing the SSID, switching
channels. I also have analyzed the WiFi with my spectrum analyzer
(doesn't everyone have one?) and it shows no radio signals in the 2.4Ghz
band, aside from my own Linksys router on channel 3, which I'm currently
using as an access point (I brought it in case the one in the rental unit
wasn't able to be secured!) Aside from my traffic on ch3, there's nothing
going on, including microwave ovens, baby monitors, etc... And I've tested
as close as 4 feet from the device.
Here's a screenshot, showing absolutely no traffic on ch6. You see my wifi router on ch3, but the one that I'm trying to fix is on ch6.  Nothing, zilch, nada:
    http://www.thornsoft.com/Misc/linksys_wifi_spectrum.JPG
Any ideas? Would upgrading firmware help? It's currently at 1.44.2z. I
don't know the rev of the device, as it's bolted to the wall.
Let me know what you think. If I've broken the radio, I'm just going to
install my router in place of theirs, and leave it behind. I'd rather buy
myself a new router than risk my $400 cleaning deposit...
    Thanks,
    Chris Thornton

    Thanks for the reply.
This router is "rev 0" I guess, as it doesn't indicate a rev with the model number. So I'm already at the latest firmware for that rev (1.44.2z).
I re-flashed it anyway, just for kicks.  Reset switch, then power off for an hour.  Radio is still dead.
We're going to scrap it, switch in my working WRT54G, and the owner of the house is going to re-imburse me. I'll probably pick up a new WRT54G when I get home.
Anyway, it would be really helpful if you could indicate whether these radios do just quit, out of the blue like that.

  • No WLAN light, computer can't find router.

NO WLAN light on the WRT54G router. Error message when run CD "can't find router". Somehting I can fix or shoud I take it back? Frustrated

First connect you router with a cable to a PC and open your DOS prompt.  (start>run type in cmd and hit enter) From the prompt type in ipconfig /all and look and see if it finds a default gateway with a IP address.  It should be by default 192.168.1.1 but may be changed.  If you do have a default gateway then type in ping 192.168.1.1 (what ever the gateway is) and hit enter.  Do you get 0% loss?  If this does not show anything try ruling out the network card by typing in ping 127.0.0.1 and hitting enter. That is a internal loop back which tests the network card.  If you get any loss then replace the network card and try again.  If you get 0% loss then it is good and try swapping cables and connecting to the router again.  If you still can not see the router then it is defective.

  • No WLAN light

Hi all, I have a WRT54G Version 2 router and after turning the power off to do some electrical work around home yesterday, the WLAN light is now not coming on. I have searched these forums and tried all the thing suggested included resetting the router by pressing reset button for 30 sec then turning power off for 30 sec. I have tried going to the 192.168.1.1 web address but it won't open the page. Every time I try and ping it says that it is an unknown host.
I have a network setup between 2 PCs and 2 Macs but haven't had any trouble until now.
Is anyone able to help please?
    Solved!

    - Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WEP, Encryption should be 64 bit.Leave the passphrase blank, don't type in anything...
Under WEP Key 1 type in any 10 numbers please(numbers only and no letters eg: your 10 digit phone number) and click on save settings...
