WLAN on E51 - How to?

I have a problem with connectivity my E51 to D-link DWL-3200AP (WiFi access point). This device have a following settings:
Wireless Band IEEE802.11G
Mode Access point
SSID Company
SSID Broadcast Disable
Channel 6 (2,437GHz)
Authentication WPA2-Personal
Cipher Type TKIP
PassPhrase [63 different symbols]
ACL MAC Filter - permit only chosen MAC adresses (including my MAC on E51)
How I must configure E51 WLAN client for access to my network? And how setup IPv4 stack on this phone?

u should have created ur own topic rather then hijacking the OPs thread
try this: Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access Point
Select the WLAN access point u created and select Options > Edit
Look for the WLAN security settings then look for WEP key settings
u can change the WEP key there

E51: How not to receive attachments in email?

Hi,
I can't find anywhere how to disable attachments in emails!
I just want to receive the text. I can't believe it's not possible
If I put maximum mail size to, let's say 2kb, it still downloads the larger attachments...
Headers only doesn't work too.
Is that normal?

There are other e-mail progs like Profimail and Emoze whitch can be customized much better. I prefere Profimail. There is a trial version for 28 days on the net. Emoze is free.

E51 - How to move pre-installed application from m...

Hi all,
I just purchased my E51 some days ago. The phone packaged with Advanced Call Manager pre-installed in microSD card. Now I want to use my 2gb microSD instead of 512mb from Nokia but I will lose the application if I take out the microSD card. How can I move that application from card to phone memory since I could not find the *.sis of that application.

A new phone just includes the installers - you can choose whether to install on the phone or memory card.
However, you can still transfer the app to the newer memory card. Use a card reader, or connect your phone in "Data Transfer Mode", and copy ALL the content of the 512mb card to your computer - make sure that you include the hidden files too. Then copy over these files to your new memory card, again take care to copy the hidden files. That way, you will have the pre-installed software on your new memory card.

Which has better WLAN reception: E51 or E61i

i was astonished with the great wlan reception auality of the E51 (compared to the weak n80ie w could not detect any wlan while same time e51 detected 3 networks!!!!?????)
and i wonder if the e61i have the same good wlan reception as e51 or better or worse??
i prefer the e61i to buy but i am afraid of its wlan reception quality being a dissapointment as my n80
i would be grateful if somebody help me

Most Nokia Wlan enabled phone uses the same WIFI(rcvr/trxtr) chips, it's the placement of its antenna & facia of the phone that hampers the transmission & reception!

2 WLANs simultaneously. How to Do?

I have an Macbook Air with only an AirPort. Ferther I own a Pentax Flucard O-FC1, this is a Wifi-Card for my Pentax K-3 DSLR.
The Macbook Air can connect to my local WLAN as well to the K-3, but not simultaneously.
In the Network I create a second WLAN with the Name "PENTAX". When I tried to connect this Second WLAN to the K-3, the first (default) WLAN change to the Pentax.
Now I want how to get this work?
Is this only possible with an Macbook Pro, when connect the LAN with an Ethernet-Cable und K-3 over the WLAN.
Any ideas how to get this fixed for the MacBook Air?

E51 - how to sync calendar using WIFI ?

Hello
Is it possible to sync the calendar of the phone using a WIFI connexion ?
My E51 is up to date (firmware updated today), and my mailbox contains a calendar which is compatible CalDav or iCal.

Using "Menu/Tools/Sync", I've create a new profile.
I've setup the SSL Certificate, but I don't know what is "remote database" when I choose the application "calendar"...

E51 - How do I find my own phone number in phone? ...

Hi,
It is endlessly frustrating to me but most cell phone manufacturers do not make the ability to find your own phone number in their cell phones an easy task, if at all possible.
I bought a Nokia E51 for use on a trip and have a prepaid SIM in the phone but I cannot find my own phone number. This would not be a huge problem but I cannot call out to get the number off of another phone because roaming is not turned on!! I cannot tell my carrier to turn it on because I don't know my phone number!!! GEEESH!! Please help!!!

Dude there is no way to find ur own phone number through ur phone menu........ the only option at ur disposal is to wait on......... n if possible call ur network provider...... see dat they can be of any help...........

How to Display the Calling Number along with Contact Number from the Address book when Receving Call from the number stored in the address book.

Ofcourse, the correct solution would be a firmware upgrade.. I have seen this "mobile phone icon for all numbers" problem baffle new users (including me). It's a pity, because such a basic feature is implemented properly even on S40 phones!

E51 - How do I turn off video calling?

When selecting a contact to call I have to select voice or video call to make a call - this extra step is annoying - how do I disable this as my carrier does not support video calls.

E51: How set active standby inbox to Gmail/All Mai...

I have a few problems setting up the active standby inbox to point to my gmail account's "All mail" folder.
First of all, it's not possible to unsubscribe to the Gmail inbox under Folder Subscriptions. This is a minor problem though as I don't use the Gmail inbox, but route all my emails to All Mail through a forwarding system.
So I'd like my active standby inbox to reflect the All Mail folder.
Selecting "gmail" under Email Settings/Default mailbox allows me to choose between "Inbox" and "[Google Mail]".
But, unlike in Email Settings/gmail/Retrieval Settings/Folder Subscriptions, I cannot go one step further and choose "All Mail".
This means that while my active standby inbox will show "gmail [Google Mail]" it won't show the new message(s).
Anyway around this? Well, apart from filtering all my emails to my inbox.

I guess you have disabled the active standby in-box plugin. Check it under "menu>tools>settings>phone>standby mode>active standby plug-ins", maybe you disabled it. Then under the same menu (standby mode) should be a new entry "active standby mailbox" where you have to select "inbox" for it to display those 2 latest sms in the active standby screen.
(the menu options may not be exactly as I mentioned, as I'm using portuguese UI)

Nokia E51 ,How to get Dutch language back???

After installing update 200.34.36 i think i overlooked the language item and now i am stuck with an English operating system. I tried to re/install the Dutch version but whatever
i do, the system stays English. Do anybody know the trick to tackle this problem

You should contact the retailer as you have most likely been sold an imported model that was not designed for sale in your country.
Nokia phones that are designed to be sold in Dutch speaking countries always include the Dutch language.
Nokia care points can add languages for you, give your nearest one a call if the retailer cannot or will not help you.

E51 WLAN prob and nokia presenter

I have two issues with nokia E51 when I find WLAN access point and try to browse through them it gives me error of ' no gateway reply' i dont know how to do with it , same router works fine with my laptop but not mobile .
Secondly I want to have nokia wireless presenter on my E51 how can i get it working.

How can I apply existing WCS "WLAN Config" templates to a new WLC?

We've been running a pair of WLC 4402s managed by WCS, thus we are still on the older 7.0.235.0 (WCS) / 7.0.235.3 (WLC) release. I'm trying to add an additional WLC 4402-50 as a hot spare. I first ran the manual setup steps to give it an IP in our range, and used the WLCs web page to set our SNMP communities and such to the values used by our existing WLCs, then I added the new WLC in WCS.
At this point I could apply most of the "Controller Templates" from our existing configuration to the new unit. However, I can not get it to take our existing interfaces nor our WLAN Configurations. How do I avoid needing to recreate these from scratch on the new WLC?
We only have four dynamic interfaces, and each WLC needs its own IP address for each interface, so I did manually add these via the WLCs web page. However, now when I go to the WCS' "Configure > Contoller Templagte Launch Pad" page, then select "WLANs > WLAN Configuration", I see my usual list of WLANs, but can't figure how to push them to the new WLC.
For all of the other templates on the launch pad, I can select a template, click the "Apply to Controllers..." button, and I get a list that has my existing two and also the new controller. I can select the new controller, and apply the template, and it succeeds.
Yet if I select a specific WLAN config, and press "Apply to Controllers...", the list that appears has only my existing two WLCs, not the the new one.
In small green type at the top it says, "Controllers configured with Interface/Interface Group - 'w-restricted' and selected RADIUS server(s), LDAP servers, ACL Name with rules and Ingress interface are shown."
I have already manually added the interface "w-restricted" to the new controller, and have added the RADIUS servers via the template used by our other two WLCs. Not sure what to do about "LDAP servers, ACL Name with rules and Ingress interface", as we don't have any ACL rules, nor use LDAP directly from the WLCs (as all user ID stuff is via RADIUS).
Any hints on what manual setup I should add to get the new WLC in the list for these WLAN Configs?

To be honest, if your only adding another WLC, your better off creating the interface and WLAN's manually. I don't like pushing out templates to create new WLAN's. I would use it to adjust an existing WLAN, but that would be it. To me it's safer. Also your new WLC is on the same code? If you really want to figure it out, I would manually add the interfaces first then refresh the co fog from the new WLC and then push out the WLAN SSID and see if it takes. If not, don't waste your time anymore and create it manually.

Tecra S3 - Wlan does not work after Win XP installation

Hello everyone,
I have recently purchased a Tecra S3 PTS30E-0TL059GH without operating system.
I've installed WIndows XP professional.
Everything works, except for the wireless lan. I can switch it on, but it doesn't seem to find the right drivers.
The device manager states problems with the networkcontroller and two other unknown devices.
I've installed all drivers from the toshiba website, but it still won't work.
Any help is appreciated!

I think the notebook supports INTEL 802.11 B/G WLan card but I'm not 100% sure about that...
In my opinion you should try to identify the WLan module.
How to do that?
In such case the usage of the PCI database should be very helpful.
