WLan problem (firmware 14.3.A.0.761)

After update to firmware version 14.3.A.0.761, I have had problem of connecting to WLan network.
I have successfully logged on to the network, but it does not connect to network but is set to status saved.
The signal strength for the network is good.
Solved!

Maybe helpfull:
Remove the credentials of your phone from the router: remove all so that your router does no longer remember the phone.
Remove the credentials of your router from the phone: forget your wireless access point in the phone.
Search for a "new" wireless access point to connect your phone to. Enter the WPS-code etc. (If the phone is still able to connect automatically the first time, you haven't cleared all data : do it again and repeat).
Now it should work ok.
Worth a try .....

• WiFi (WLAN) problem - in the same room a iOS 5 device connects, iOS 6 not

Hi all,
I won't say that it's a proof for the iOS 6 WiFi/WLAN problem. BUT, it's evident that my iPhone 4 with iOS 5 sees all WLAN-networks and connects - my new iPad with iOS 6 doesn't! And I'm using the two devices in the same room. In addition my new iPad didn't have connection problems before updating to iOS 6.
Apple Software Engineers - please help and release the next update to fix it

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

• Logic remote wlan problems

Hey, guys,
I'm experiencing connectivity problems when trying to connect Logic Remote with an iMac running Logic Pro X. Both in the same network of course, all other apps requiring to connect the iPad with any Mac in the network work very well, internet is fine etc. Seems Logic remote connects for a second, than it disconnects again, saying WLAN is weak or unreliable (which isn't the case), sometimes no connection at all. All operating systems up to date.

I also had this WLAN Problems and solved it:
1.) Try to remove all controllers you added earlier (also Logic Remote) under setup..
2.) Restart Logic an Logic Remote -> This should re-add Logic Remote to your Controllers.

• ANOTHER NOKIA C3 WLAN PROBLEM

Ok, I'm not able to choose wlan or gprs internet but untill I was trying to open the Internet via WLAN tel says 'service not available''.'' activating default in all applications'' does not work, simply because it's getting back all my options from WEB and I''m connecting the Int via gprs again. What should I do? any ideas? maybe it's all about my router or so? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hi, this is Paulo Bral™,
I recently got an Nokia C3-00 mobile, and I faced so many problems with Wi-FI connection of this phone that I decided to share my experience with you guys.
I am going to write here the definitive guide to fix all WLAN problems you may encounter (and this is something that not even Nokia Support was able to do) - are you ready?
First of all, I am assuming you have the knowledge about Wi-Fi networking (SSIDs, Channels, Security, and all the terms related to setting up a decent Wi-Fi connection), second, you need to have full acess to your router, as we will configure everything from the ground, third and last you will need a tool called InSSIDer from Meta Geeks (Google it) to perform diagnostic tasks explained below.
Analyzing the networks around you
First off, you need to spend some time running the tool InSSIDer on your PC to collect data from Wi-Fi networks around you as they may be the cause of your connection problems. We will use these 2 visualizations: "Time Graph" and "2.4GHz Channel" to monitor the networks around - if you dont know what you are doing, better close this page and start running away.
Configuring the router
After collecting data from the networks around, now it's time to set up our router. I found out that I have other 15 networks around me, and I found out here that most of them were using Channel 6, the same I was using. Also some of them are using the Channel 9 and 11. In this case, I set my router to use the Channel 1, as nobody were using it and it is also far away from other Channels being used. After some time collecting data, you will be able to see which Channel has no user or less users, and you must choose it. The security of you WLAN is your choice, as it does not have any side effects. I suggest using WPA2 as it is the most secure of the 3 this mobile supports. BTW, don't ask me how to configure your router, ask Google for it!
Testing WLAN connectivity
Now it's time to test WLAN connectivity with your reconfigured router. Try opening some pages, try watching YouTube videos... If your mobile is working OK, with no connection errors or timeouts, your problem was only the interference caused by networks around. But, if you still experience problems like timeouts or errors opening pages and YouTube videos, you need to continue to the next step.
Using router QoS and Static IP
If you have an very fast internet (10MBPS+) you will need to slow things down, as this cell phone does not really support fastest internet speeds, now you have to know your cell MAC address, make it use an Static IP, and configure QoS to reduce the downstream speed on the cell phone IP to 3MBPS max speed - BTW, not all routers supports this, if yours don't support it, get another router, I recommend Cisco or LinkSyS.
Still having problems
The above steps solved my problem for a while, as the phone were working a little better with my Wi-Fi, yet I experienced some timeouts and errors opening pages. Now the next step will require a PC connected to your network and this will reduce to ZERO the timeouts and errors opening pages.
Keeping the Connection Alive - for bad routers
If you have a generic (not Cisco or LinkSyS) cheap bad router, you will need this step! I noticed that even when the cell phone were showing the Wireless icon, the LED indicating Wireless on my router was not always turned on, so I understood my router was like "ignoring" the cell phone connection and just stopped responding to its calls. To fix this bad router behaviour, you will need a PC connected to your network, and prepare yourself to laugh: All you need to do is "keep pinging" the cell phone IP as this will keep it connection alive. The simplest way is to create a .BAT file with these 3 lines inside:
:autoping
ping <cell phone IP>
goto autoping
Now save it on your desktop, use anyname.bat as you wish - now run it and connect your cell phone to the WLAN. You will notice the difference, as it will work so stable like if it were connected using LAN cable!!! You will never have connection problems again!
Well, that is it, following this guide your cell phone will never have WLAN problems again (well, at least on your WLAN).
Best regards,
Paulo Bral™

• IPhone 5 WLAN problems

Hey everyone!
I have some trouble with my iphone. The situation is as following: I am having trouble with ym iPhone 5 in my network. My house has 2 routers one on top floor and one on ground floor. All devices except the iPhone 5 have great signal. My iPhone 5 refuses to join one of the networks for some reason, though it has 2 bars signal strength. It is really odd... Anyone else having this kind of problems??
In a dicussion in German forums we have spoke about the software updates as a solution. Now I am running iOS 6.1.2 and 6.1.3 doesn't mention anything about bugfixing any WLAN issuess. Seems other user had simialr problems like I'm having. Any suggestions?
Regards, AX

If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPhone. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPhone on some other networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPhone does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPhone is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

• N91 weird WLAN problem

Hi, Good day to you all!
I have a weird problem with my N91's WLAN, when it is in phone mode (general mode) I can't detect any access point or wifi hotspot on "connection manager>available WLAN" menu, even I'm just beside my wireless router, but when it is in offline mode, I can see all the available networks or hotspot but still I can't establish a connection between them, even on my own Wireless-N router at home.
does anyone here having the same proble like I do? is there a solution for this?
thanks guys, I hope somebody can help me.

Install the latest firmware for your N91 8gb if you haven't done so. If you got the latest firmware, make a backup & hard reset your phone. Its a series 60, it can be formatted, & firmware will be installed as in factory conditioned.

• E71 WLAN problems after upgrade to 110.07.127 firm...

Hi, recently I've upgraded my E71 to 110.07.127 firmware and all WLAN operations became very unstable.
For example, when I open WLAN wizard it might show that there's no networks - while were are some for sure, when I press Refresh it starts showing some of them, then I press Refesh once again it shows more (or less), but none of them I can connect to anyway/.
I have a Wi-fi hotspot at home and I've been using it for a while with the phone, but now it either doesn't show up in the list of WLANs or, if it does, the phone cannot connect to it saying "Network is unavailable".
I tried to play with the hotspot options changing bands, "b" or "g" modes etc - no luck at all.
Pls help. Thanks.

• N80: WLAN problem: "Define access pts. for secure ...

Nokia N80 (black)
Firmware: 3.0617.0.6
I have problems getting on the WLAN. Here is a step-by-step description of what I do:
First:
1) "Connect." -> "Conn. mgr" -> "Availab. WLAN"
2) Mark "HQ" WLAN
3) "Options" -> "Define access point"
4) Answer "Yes" to "Define internet access point for WLAN network "HQ"?
5) Get the message: "Define access pts. for secure WLAN networks in 'Access points' in conn. settings."
Then:
6) "Tools" -> "Settings" -> "Connection" -> "Access points"
7) "Options" -> "New access point" -> "Use default settings"
8) Write "HQ" in the "Connection name" field.
9) "Data bearer": "Wireless LAN"
10) "WLAN netw. name": "HQ"
11) "Network status": "Public"
12) "WLAN netw. mode": "Infrastructure"
13) "WLAN security mode": "WPA/WPA2" (the WLAN is using "WPA-PSK")
14) "WLAN securoty settings" sub-menu:
- "WPA mode": "Pre-shared key"
- Pre-shared key": the correct one (verified with laptop connection)
- "TKIP encryption": I have tried both "Allowed" and "Not allowed".
15) Homepage: "None".
When I go back and go through steps 1-5 again, I get the exact same message.
What am I doing wrong? Can someone give please me a _really_ detailed step-by-step guide for how to do this?
I have been able to use gcalsync (www.gcalsync.com) with the same "HQ" WLAN, but then it is gcalsync that asks for SSID and key. So: The WLAN works, I just don't understand how to set it up.
I will be very, very grateful if someone can help me with this. Thank you.

Hi Chrlov,
An example of my set up based on my old Linksys router.
1. Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Access points.
2. Select Options > New access point > Use default settings.
3. Give a name to 'Connection name'. In my case, 'Home WLAN'.
4. Change 'Data bearer' to 'Wireless LAN'.
5. Change 'WLAN netw. name' to the SSID I had set up on my Linksys router. In my case, some thing like 'gen1xxxxhomewireless' (this is not the real one, censored by me. LOL)
6. Since my SSID is hidden, I change 'Network status' to 'Hidden'.
7. My Linksys had WEP set up (and that it is permanent). So I leave 'WLAN netw. mode' and 'WLAN security mode' as 'Infrastructure' and 'WEP' respectively.
8. I set up WEP security settings in 'WLAN security sett.'
a. Since I'm using key 3, I change 'WEP key in use' to '#3'.
b. I leave 'Authentication type' as the default of 'Open'.
c. I key in all 4 keys in 'WEP key settings'. Since I'm using 64-bit hexadecimal key, I set 'WEP encryption' to '64 bits' and 'WEP key format' to 'Hexadecimal'.
Hope this is a good reference.
Good luck and cheers. ^_^;

• C3-00 Next one WLAN problem.. Any help?

Hi there,
first of all I want to tell u that my English is not perfect but I try to explain exactly what I want.
So, I bought C3 about 4 days ago, then I saw there's a lot of problems with WLAN in C3 but I try to make my own settings in Configuration and then it work and always phone asks me what I want to use: WLAN or GPRS. It was great because I get what I want. But yesterday I want to update my software, because my was from June I think 2010.. Nevermind.. So.. I go to Main Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Update Phone (or something like that.. you know what I mean) > Download update. And then phone should ask me which connection I want to use but it won't. It's just started to connecting to GPRS.
What I can do to work it out? Because it's really annoying..
Waiting for your posts in impatience.
I hope you will understand what I mean.
Greetings, Spindender!

i newly purchased a Nokia c 3-00 with the firmware version 4.65. My WLAN does not work. It detects WLAN connections available but when i try to connect the phone to the network it shows "Connection Failed". The WEP key is Right and i am near the Router and there is no problem with the router as other Nokia Phones connect with no problems. The Nokia Website is showing a firmware update of 7.20 but when i enter my phone product code it shows that the firmware 4.65 is the latest available for my phone. I have checked the C 3-00 phones of my friends on various routers and all those phones seem to have the same problem.
Please Help Me out...
If i need to update my phone to 7.20 how do i do it ? Nokia software updater shows my firmware is the latest.

You have to tell some more about the settings. Is the SSID visible? Are you using a WPA-PSK key? Is the firmware of your AP up-to-date? Are you using MAC filtering? Try to reset the AP.

Previously i was having 7.24.***version, which used to show the available networks, but whenever i tried to connect it , it says no wlan found. I even tried to connect it by sitting next to router, but not worth.
then i upgraded the firmware to 07.40.1.2, now it is in the worst condition, it always say WLAN not found.

Could anyone please suggest it, how to resolve this problem. now i cant even install 07.24*** firmware, is it available at any place??

Hi.
Sounds like a faulty phone to me, as mine connects automaticaly to my home or work networks every time.
Take the phone to a area where you know there is free WIFI available, Mc D's for example and see if you can connect.
Search for "free wifi" on the internet.
If you can not see it and connect, but other people can, then it sounds like the phone is faulty.
If you managed to get the 7.40xxxx software accidently???
changing the product code back to the one on the lable under the battery MAY get it back to the previous version.
I have not tried this though.
Try taking it the shop where you bought it and ask them to demonstrate WLAN working.
Time for a replacement??
Some things in life are guaranteed, but can you claim on them?

• WLAN Problem - E63

Hi Everyone,
I have been a longtime WinCE and UIQ 3 user. Last week I switched over to Nokia, E63 being my transition phone. I rely heavily on my WiFi network at home and office for data trasfer, mails etc. Both networks are on WEP security. Everything was fine for first 4-5 days, then this started happening.
The phone, every few seconds automatically searches and presents available wifi networks in a pop-up window. When I select mine, it asks for WEP key and then goes quite. Then again after few seconds repeats the process.
I have disabled auto search from Settings>connections>Wireless LAN>"Never"
This is half of the problem. Now when I have selected the network and it has started appearing in Menu>Connectivity>Conn.Mgr.>Active Data Connections I should be able to browse and check mails. But this is not the case! When I connect to my mailbox through same access point it gives error that "WLAN already active. Close and try again" or something similar.
I even have a feeling that the problem has become worse during last 24 hrs. Because earlier if I denied all auto requests and tried to connect to same access point once the mailbox or browser presents their very own available access point window, it worked. Now even that is not working and I am barred of accessing my home or office network.
1) I have not changed any settings last few days. It all started happening gradually.
2) I have NOT updated firmware recently although I know a new firmware is available
3) I do have installed few softwares (trials) although none requires constant WiFi connection
This is very frustrating, especially since it goes against rationale - If WLAN is connected why would you need to disconnect it and reconnect to use a connection request from an app?!! Someone hardcoded the verbiage on that little piece of error window in OS, right? Wasn't he feeling funny doing it? I have seen similar problem with few other people complaining on various forums.
On my earlier P990i, wifi used to work smoothly, no questions asked. Any solutions are most welcome. Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
Vikram
