WLan router disabled but I need to ENABLE WLan

After how many years of having wireless connectivity to our router from my laptop - my step father has suddenly decided to disable it, forcing me to use a direct cable plug from the router to my laptop in order to access internet! I need help!
Is there a way to get my wireless internet back!
Basically i cant access wireless connectivity anymore - in order to acess internet, i must use a cable which is directly plugged into the router.
in addition, the icon at the bottom of the computer screen which usually is a mini computer screen that flashes - has now changed to TWO mini computer screens which flash?!
i think it has something to do with a toshiba program - called config free. im on a limited user account and i can see that he has disabled the wireless network connection - does this mean that i would somehow have to get into the admin account, and then change it?
HELP.

I think you misunderstood something if the WLan is disabled in router settings, then you will not be able to receive the WLan signals using the notebook.
You have to enable the WLan in router settings (should read the router user manual).
After the WLan has been enabled and configured in router settings, you can enable the Wlan functionality on notebook and can configure the Wlan card settings to establish the connection.

It sounds like you may be using different versions of the Norton toolbar. The one on the desktop must be older and not updated for v24 of Firefox. The one the laptop must be newer.

On a side note v24 of Firefox is no longer the latest version. To get the latest security updates you should update to v25. See here:

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

Flash videos don't work with PepperFlash disabled (but with system plugin enabled) on Chrome!

Basically, Google Chrome lags a lot when I use PepperFlash and so I have heard that disabling it and using the system flash will have better performance. I have done this but when I disable PepperFlash, the flash videos don't work as it says flash player has crashed. Also, I would like to resolve the lag and bad performance with flash videos on chrome because the video playback on Internet Explorer is a lot better than Chrome(Never thought I would have to say that) atm. A possible solution might be to install 32-Bit Chrome instead
Summary:
Flash videos lag(most likely due to PepperFlash being used according to other people)
When PepperFlash is disabled, the system flash plugin does not work in chrome as it apparently crashes every time.
I would like help on how to resolve the bad performance and be able to use the system flash plugin to have no lag on videos and livestreams.

I am having the same problem as you. I can use my appleID to log in to this forum or iCloud, but I can not use it to download apps or update apps I have. I have reset my password 7 times over the past few weeks, it never helps. Clearly the problem is not actually my password, but some compatibility problem between iOS5, Lion, iCloud, and iTunes. Too many products rolled out at the same time, without proper attention payed to compatibility. It is getting quite frustrating. Satellite P10-304: WLan card replacement - Do I need the same Wlan chip?

got a satellite P10-304 from a mate here.
He said the wireless has never worked on it and hes had it years and someone else has already looked at it and changed the wireless card TNA.
Basically it just acts as if the wireless switch isn't working and it stays permanently off although the drivers install fine and the card shows as ok. Just disconnected.
Now I thought, ok, i'll take a look as I'm pretty good on the old hardware. Took it apart and what do you know, the switch was bent and not in place. I put the switch back into place, checked in the on and off positions with a multimeter to check the switch was working and it was doing its job perfectly.
Now it still does not work.
I am guessing this is now due to the fact that as I said, the card has been changed from its original to an intel pro jobby.
My question is, am I right, do I just need to get the same card that was originally in it. I assumed that when the switch was put back correct I would have it solved.

The WLan card should be enabled bu switching the switch to ON position (the LED should light up) and additionally you should chose the WLan antenna using the key combination FN + F8.
Please check this!
Note; go to device manager -> Wlan card properties -> Advanced tab
There you can check if WLan is enabled as well.

Hi David , Contact your bank they may have disabled your credit/ debit card because of an unusual amount of small purchaches of APPS , ALBUMS etc....... Has your name been changed if so create a new Apple ID and RELAX. BANKS TREAT THIS AS FRAUD they may need you to confirm you purchased them APPS.

Depending on why it's been disabled, you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your iPad then try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

There are so many WLan routers on the market and I think you should read some test articles about the router hardware. Maybe then you will bring more light into this case.

So switch a LAN card fix this issue...seems a compatibility issue or maybe some packs or programs you installed recently cause this issue.
Have you manually check the network adapter driver from the PC's manufacture website? sometimes, it will be a time delay before Microsoft push out the driver update.
Check if issue exists in safemode with network, this mode will launch Windows with limited sets of files and drivers.
if you have a restore point, restore the pc to a previous point at which the pc is functioning fine.

I also get this problem on my iPad, so probably not related to the AppleTV. On the iPad I restarted Airport Extreme this time, and then the iPad saw my Home Sharing.
So to recap, restarting the router or Airport Express allowed the iPad and AppleTV to see Home Sharing. Restarting AppleTV also allows AppleTV to see Home Sharing.
So does anyone have any idea?

Hi there - am with Orange and they said nothing wrong with account and service running normally. They said if they had cut me off I would've received a text (debatable with current message receiving situation!) and when I called out it would say 'calls from this number are barred'. Also if you called me it would say something similar. But it doesn't, it will ring and ring until it rings off but nothing happens at all on my handset. Not even a missed call notification. If I call out, it will display that it is calling the number but that's it. If I cancel the call it will constantly display 'ending call'. If I come out of the phone and go to another app then revist phone it will start calling that last dialled number - without ever getting as far as ringing or connecting.
