WLC 2100 Series Rack Mount Option

I am having a tough time finding the rackmount kit for the 2100 series Wireless Lan Controllers. Will the ASA5505-RACK-MNT= work?

Hi David,
Yes, this is the correct part to use :) I am guessing the ASA 5505 and WLC 2100 must use the same chassis;

    Diego,
Wired guest access is not supported on WLC2106.

  • Measure throughput on WLC 2100 series

I  didn't see a command in the list but is it possible to capture netflow on the WLC port.  I have configured 10 APs but the users are complaining about dropped connections during peak times and I'm trying to pin down the nature of the problem.
    Thanks!

Yes. Configure netflow on the switchport the WLC is plugged into, if your switch supports it.

  • Rack mount kit - WLC 2100

What's the Part Number for the Cisco WLC 2100 rack mount kit?
    Thanks in advance.

Allows for convenient desktop mounting or rack mounting, with optional rack mount kit for flexible deployment.

  • 2100 rack mount

Does anyone have a part number for a 2100 rack mount kit, cant find it on Cisco anywhere? Is it the same as for the 526 the ACS-UC500RM-19=

    Hi,
the Rack-Mount-Kit for the WLC-2100 is the same as the one for the ASA-5505. It's called ASA5505-RACK-MNT=.

  • ASA5585 - which rack mount?

    Sadly dissappointed in the documentation...
I would think that one of these parts would be the rack kit used when eliminating the slide rails to fit the 5585 in a narrow rack as described in the hardware installation guide ( http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/hw/maintenance/5585guide/5585Xhw/procedures.html#79288 )
Rack-Mounting the Chassis Using the Fixed Rack Mount
If you are not able to use the slide rail kit in your rack installation, an optional fixed rack mount solution is available. You can install fixed front and rear rack mount brackets on the ASA 5585-X so that you can easily mount it in a rack.
OK, that is what I want, but what part is it? Is it one of the three below? Is it something else?
    ASA5585-RAILS=
    ASA 5585 Rail kit
    ASA5585-REAR-RACK=
ASA 5585-X Rear Rack Mounts (1 pair)
    ASA5585-RACK-KIT=
ASA 5585-X Front Rack and Rear Rack Kit
it used to be you could search for a datasheet, but those are now bloated with a bunch of marketing fluff that is not remotely close to being datasheets.

The RAILS part is the standard slide rail kit with the ball bearings etc. that allows the ASA to slide in and out without unmounting.
The REAR-RACK is the little guide pieces that attach to the ASA plus the longer bits that attach to the rack's rear posts to give the unit support on the rear. It's sold separately in case someone started out with the kit below but only used the front hardware and the rear bits went missing if/when they decided they should add them.
The RACK-KIT includes the REAR-RACK pieces plus the big rectangular pieces with ears that attach on the front sides of the ASA and allow you to secure it into your front posts.

  • WLC 2100 and DHCP strange issue.

    Hi,
i have this scenario: 1 WLC 2100 and two LW AP 3500 connected. If the access points are connected via external switch evrything works well - AP and Clients get IP address from external DHCP and this is ok but when im connecting AP 3500 directly to one of ports on WLC i need to chceck in controller web Controller -> Advanced -> DHCP -> Enable DHCP proxy - after that AP get IP addres and clients get too but ip is assigned from external dhcp but the gateway is set as controller IP address (!!!) so clients not works. I want to configure access points connected directly do WLC.
I have small setup and i have configured all in the one vlan - management dla users are in the same vlan.
And the second is - for what usage is internal DHCP server - and how to use it?

When "Enable DHCP Proxy" is not enabled tha LW AP 3500 cannot get IP address if it is connected directly to LWC... when i add this option then on both LW AP 3500 - one connected to WLC and second directly to switch give me DHCP address from external DHCP but gateway sets as LWC management IP.
I made test - connected client witout "Enable DHCP Proxy":
Client IP 192.168.1.201 (correct in dhcp server logs), default GW 192.168.1.1 (correct gateway for this DHCP) correct dnses and in windws ipconfig i see "Server DHCP 192.168.1.1" all is correct.
Disconnected client and clicked "Enable DHCP Proxy":
Client IP 192.168.1.201 (correct in dhcp server logs), default GW  192.168.1.252 incorrect gateway - ip of WLC management interface) correct dnses and in windws  ipconfig i see "Server DHCP 1.1.1.1" that shows that WLC modified DHCP packets... but what it try to set default GW as WLC?
    WLC data:
    Software Version

  • Switchports of wlc 2100 dont bridge to rest of the LAN

    Hi,
I've configured several WLC's before but I'm new to the 2100 series. I'm a bit confused in the way the 8 ports function. I have the following setup:
    2 AP's (1131AG)
    3 clients's (wired)
All five connected to WLC on ports 8,7,6,5,4
WLC port 1 is connected to a 24 port switch, non Cisco, so no CDP info available (may that matter).
The whole network should be an untagged Vlan. This is also the way I've runned the basic setup. AP int + MGM int are both untagged configured on port 1.
So I would like the 8 ports to function as an "expansion" to the 24 port switch. But for some reason there is no traffic possible between the wired clients+ap's on the WLC and the rest of the network.
Both sides can ping the AP int + MGM int of the WLC.
DHCP proxy works as well, the AP's get their IP, the wired client's dont.
As soon as the AP tries to resolve CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.domain.local it fails, when connected to the 24 port switch, it succeeds, because the DNS server is on that side.
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks for your help!
Update: WLC is running the latest version7

The ports on the 2106 are designed to support AP connections or an uplink to a switch.  They will not work with PC's connected to them.

  • Upgradinin to OES 11 sp1 ,Mount options of root

    Hi
    Got a Ques about
"Changing the Mount Options Before an Upgrade"
in "Preparing the Server You Are Upgrading"
    I sazs
I should change to "mount by Device ID or PATH"
    My partitions are
dev/sda = 200 MB boot ( = no problems to change to Device boot)
    dev/sdb = 20 GB Linux LVM
    made as a VG01
containing a swap volume on 1,5 GB + the rest as 18,5GB root volume
Here I cant Change anything ....in the SDB and volumes are the "device/path" options greyed out, Is this OK
It still warns me about "upgrading"
    Please advice

If you only have one hard drive, I wouldn't worry about it. With two
hard drives, for example, sdb could appear as sda and vise versa.
With multiple hard drives or multiple paths to your storage device the
device name can change depending upon which one SLES encounters first.
By assigning permanent names (mount by Device ID or PATH) that won't
    happen.

  • Rack-mounted Power Mac

Quite often, I go on the road with my music production hardware - think of it as a "roving studio." It's quite cumbersome and problematic to lug around a Power Mac Dual G5 tower. It would be so much nicer if there were a rack-mounted version of the Power Mac that I could install in my music equipment rack. I've checked out an Xserve (as it comes in the desired form factor), but it's unclear to me if a) I can use it as a non-server, and b) the AppleCare options. (After all, for me, it wouldn't be a server, so I don't (can't) pay for "server" support.) Does Apple offer a rack configuration for a Power Mac Dual G5 "workstation?" (Or could I buy an Xserve and use it as such - with appropriately-priced (i.e. "workstation") support?)
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

There are vertical rack mounted solutions, but of course this isn't the best use of space.
The G5 needed a bigger case to handle the larger cooling systems and all the expansion options, it's impossible to please everyone. It's not really designed to sit in a rack, but next to a desktop.
I wouldn't use a X-Serve as a desktop machine because your expansion options are limited, video cards may be hard to find for instance. Not much in the way of connectivity either.
There is a penalty for the 1U design.
Now since you roll your rack around from place to place, why not have someone build you a G5 case with wheels and a long handle that you can roll that around from place to place instead?
All you have to do is pay a visit to your local metal shop and find some sturdy fat wheelbarrow wheels at the local hardware store.
I say wheel barrow wheels because you can keep them under-inflated and they absorb shock better.
Heck at my hardware store there is angle iron (aluminum) for sale that with a few bolts and a little ingenuity (and a metal cut off wheel for my chop saw, metal drill bits) I could build a cart for my G5. Take it down to a welding shop and have them make it stronger with welds.
    Necessity breeds invention.

  • Rack mount kits doesn't fit the depth of Agilent rack

I have a PXI 1085 Chassis which I want to mount in an Agilent rack.  I purchased the front and rear rack mount kits, the height and width are great, but the depth of my rack doesn’t allow me to use both the front and rear rack mount kits.  Is there some kind of adapter I can buy which will extend the rear rack mount so that it can reach the back?

    Hi Chall,
Unfortuantely we only offer the kits for a certain size range. If this does not fit your rack then you will have to create a custom rack mount.

  • QFS mount options not getting noticed.

Hi I have a small issue it seems that none of my QFS directives are getting noticed im not sure if this is true or not but this is what I have tried and i am unable to verify that these mount options are actually taking effect..
This is QFS Version 4 revision 4.0.26FA
in my /etc/opt/SUNWsamfs/samfs.cmd I have the following options
    fs = qfs1
    nosuid
    sync_meta = 0
    qwrite
    readahead = 4096
    writebehind = 1024
after mounting my file system why are these options not listed in mnttab
    qfs1 /qfs1 samfs dev=1d80036 1048280993
using dd/time to write data to this file system im getting the exact same performance no matter what options I set. another reason why I think these options are being ignored is the following
if I set for example fs = qfs1 and high = 70 low = 30 when I check samu [m] option I dont see those values reflected in the m output so what im asking is there anyway to verifty that my mount options are being set occordinly ?
Yes I did use mount -o nosuid,qwrite,etc.. /qfs1 still no difference and even placing the options in vfstab seems to not make any difference.
last but not lease if i do a samtrace -V while mounting my /qfs1 filesystem I see the following
00100000 readahead (1048576) <<--- still seems to use the default values 1024
00080000 writebehind (524288) <<-- 512 look @ my samfs.cmd file this should but not the value.
    Any assistance would be nice.

Hi There! Sorry, it took so long to get back to you. This should help:
The samu N display shows all the mount options. You can also use the samfsinfo command to see file system build information. If the samfs.cmd options are not being picked up, make sure the file is formatted correctly (no odd characters) and is in the proper location, /etc/opt/SUNWsamfs/samfs.cmd . Then "pkill -HUP sam-fsd" to assure the daemon has picked up the file's contents, and then mount the file system.
