WLC 7.5 HA - Standby keeps rebooting

I have two 5508 controllers peered up in high availability.  The problem is now the standby keeps rebooting saying it can't reach the default gateway.
What IP would it ping with and use as the source address if the two controllers share the same IP and the primary controller is using the IPs?
How do I fix the rebooting?
(Cisco Controller-Standby) >
Rebooting as default GW is not reachable from Standby Controller
Restarting system. Reason: Default Gateway is not reachable ..
Restarting system.

I also had a LAG issue earlier so I unplugged 3 of 4 LAG connections.

Just found this document that has couple rebooting bugs in 7.4 and was supposed to be fixed in the next release.

  • WLC in HA Keep Rebooting

Hey guys I have a WLC HA issue and thought I checked if anyone been through the same and can share the solution to it. I have a WLC pair setup in HA SSO mode and the primary controller keeps rebooting while the HA WLC takes over and becomes the Active WLC.
I configured the WLC as a HA pair and it was all working fine before. The main WLC would be the active. I tested that the failover works with both WLC. Now the main WLC went down, HA WLC took over, and the main WLC doesn't come back up but keeps rebooting. In CLI it shows the below:
    Starting VPN Services: ok
    Starting Licensing Services: ok
Starting Redundancy: Starting Peer Search Timer of 120 seconds
Found the Peer. Starting Role Determination...
    Restarting system ..
    Updating license storage ...  Done.
    Restarting system.
It just keeps go through the same thing over and over. It doesn't even go through the XML configuration stage. The last resort will be to reset to default config on main WLC and rebuild the config and HA pair. I am trying to avoid that as the WLCs are in a live environment.
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks Leo, Power off/on and disconnect the SFP didn't work. I can't upgrade the FUS code because it never gets to a prompt unless I break the HA pair.
I ended up loggin a TAC case and it turned out to be a bug http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCuc34199
Will be fixed in the upcoming release.

  • 1130 AP keeps rebooting cannot find WLC

Device WLC 2000( with the new IOS AIR-WLC2006-K9-4-0-206-0.aes) and AP 1130.
First time when i power on AP1130, WLC is able to detect it and wireless is working fine
WLC will automatically upgrade the IOS of 1130AP to c1130-k9w7-tar.123-11.JA1.tar
but once I power off and on the device ,AP1130 will keep rebooting.
WLC cannot see it , it order to make it working again i need to console to AP1130 and erase all the config and ios .
Any idea how to solve this ?

Thanks for everyone's help on this issue. The problem was the wiring in the cieling. When I tested out the wire I tested for Connectivity and not loss of power. One of the contractor's but a small slice in the wire undectable by looking at it. When I replaced the wire the AP then became stable and is no longer rebooting. Thanks

  • Aironet 1142 Keeps Rebooting

About every 20 minutes 12 of 300 APs keep rebooting.  I have tried moving them to different controllers.  I have tried downgrading the code and then upgrading the code.  I ahve tried replacing the AP.  I have tried swaping out cables.  They are all connected to a 3750 stack but plugged into different switches in the stack.  Here is the result that I could capture when I saw it disconnect from the controller.  This is the output from the AP:

I have removed the ip addresses for security reasons.

I have these access points connected to a 3750 stack with 7 switches in the stack.
    Is this a plain (10/100BaseTx) 3750 or a 3750G and higher?
If it's a 3750G and higher, run a built-in TDR and verify your cable.  The commands are the following:
    1.  test cable tdr int ;
    2.  Wait for 6 seconds or more;
    3.  sh cable tdr int
    Paste the output.

  • AP1131 - keeps rebooting

I have a brand new lightweight AP that keeps rebooting every 2-3 minutes. Anyone ever see this issue, and how to resolve it?
    Thanks

If the AP doesn't join the WLC it will keep rebooting. That is the normal process. If you are having issue joining the AP to a WLC, put the AP on the same subnet as the management of the WLC and make sure there is dhcp. The AP will join the WLC.

  • Desktop/Finder keeps rebooting after upgraded to Maverick (mac mini hooked up to a home theater system)

My desktop keeps rebooting ever since I upgraded to Mavericks.
Current setup, Mac Mini hooked up to home theater (Panasonic SC-HTB20) that is then hooked up to my Panasonic Plasma TV.
I usually leave my Mac Mini on running and at least once a day when I turn on the TV I can see that my desktop was rebooted. Firefox and Chrome will say that it wasn't shut down properly and if I want to restore my previous session. Also some times when I switched the input to watch TV and switch back, all my windows will be scattered out of place. For example Chrome will be in the top left hand corner to the point that it's almost minimized and I wouldn't be able to move it as well. Only thing I can do is close out these applications and relaunch them. It doesn't appear that the OS actually crashed, but more like the desktop/finder itself crashed. Cause once in a while I will switch back or turn on the TV and the screen will stay black for a few minutes then I'll see the cursor in the top right hand corner. After that I will start to see the desktop and my application start loading. It doesn't go through the regular process of rebooting where you see the Apple logo so I don't think the OS actually crashed but I could be wrong.
For some reason it seems like Maverick doesn't like the home theater system. An almost guarantee way to reproduce the issue is to wait for the home theater to turn off after it's been inactive for a while. If I turn it on the home theater to have the audio coming from it I will see the desktop goes black immediately then the whole desktop reboot process I mentioned above will kick in.
Never had any of these issues on 10.7 before I upgraded to Maverick.
Anybody have any suggestion? I really don't want to format and downgrade back to 10.7.
    Thanks

    Sounds like a kernel panic.
If you post the report we could have a go at deciphering it.
It would be in /Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports.

  • Mac pro keeps rebooting

My Mac Pro 2.1 Keeps rebooting ramdomly. It seems to be more common when editing video.
    Any ideas anybody?
    Thanks in advance.

    Sorry for the slow reply.
My Mac Pro 2.1 screens go black and instantly reboots, sometimes it keeps rebooting until i hold the power button. I have reset pram, smc, renewed permissions and checked hard discs.
I am booting from a drive with lion 10.7.3. It also happens when I am booted from another drive running Snow Leopard.
I have also removed 4 gig of the 8 gig of ram and tried different configs of ram.
I have also disconnected everything except the keyboard, mouse and 2 monitors.
It is driving me bonkers because I cannot trust the mac Pro and I often lose work because it suddenly reboots.
    Any suggestions anyone.

I open the front door to remove the jam problem was not solved, I removed the ink cartridge to see if there was any piece of paper .Switch the apparatus off and  when i switch it on again it just wnt switch on and now it just keep rebooting and wont display anything.
I would liek to know how to solve this problem or if the printer has to be thrown out.
    Regards

    Hi @widadr,
I see that you are experiencing issues with the printer constantly rebooting. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Temporarily disconnect any cables from the printer, except the power cord, just to make sure there isn't any interference for the next few steps.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Perform a power drain by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the printer and keeping the power button pressed for 30 seconds and in case of a power switch keep the switch in ON position for 30 seconds before reconnecting the power chord.
Try and update the printer's firmware by a USB connection if the issue persists. Software and Drivers.
I will send you another step to try in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet)

I have tried to hold the "home" and "power" button to reboot
I have tried powering it off
I have tried, to unplug the cable, hold the "home" button and then plug it in.
Can't check the SN or warranty, cause it is stuck in restore mode.
Is the hard drive gone? Should there be something replaced.

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Usually this is caused by your antivirus or firewall blocking iTunes access to the Internet. It can also occur if the phone is jailbroken or if the computer you are using was ever used to jailbreak an iDevice.

  • Lenovo X240 keeps rebooting with Kernel-Power (Event ID:41); Windows 7 Professional

    Hi All
I have my newly Lenovo x240 installed with Windows 7. Sometime, it can boot up, but sometimes it keep rebooting during the windows logo appear.
When it goes wrong, it will have the following screen.
But, if I am lucky, after several "auto-reboot", I can get into the Windows 7. But sometimes, it shows the similar screen above (without windows logo but with what my current desktop), and it then auto reboots.
This scenario is so random, I don't know how to fix it. At this stage, I don't want to use system restore, as some software is installed by my client which is not located near my office, while the reboot issue happens before those installation

    Could you please help?
    BR
    Jacky

    Hi JackyCheung,
I would strongly you to ensure you have the latest drivers and also Windows Updates installed before proceeding with anything else. Have you ran the diagnostics to see if anything hardware related maybe causing the issue?
In this scenario I highly doubt System Restore would help, was it working OK when you got it? what has changed since it was working without the issue?

  • I restored my iphone 4 to prepare it for sale and now it keeps rebooting itself every few minutes saying "Waiting for Activation". What's going on?!

I'm just trying to figure out if theres some other issue at play or if its normal for the phone to keep rebooting while searching for activation. I'd like to sell it this weekend but I don't want to sell a broken phone to someone. I researched this issue a bit online and only found a similar issue having to do with facetime/imessage but this seems to be different. I went through the necessary steps to fix the problem others were having, even though it didnt seem to be exactly the same as mine, but it is still happening. I will say that I got the iphone wet some time ago but it has worked fine since then so I'm assuming its not related. Perhaps the battery needs to be replaced? Any and all input or advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I should mention it is ios 6.1.3. The phone has now also started, after rebooting, showing the signal bars next to the wifi signal icon at the top but no "Sprint" type next to the bars as usual. And then after a few minutes it shuts down, shows the black screen with the white apple in the middle for a few moments, comes back up with the Waiting for Activation message, the signal bars pop up and the whole cycle just repeats itself.

  • My ipod touch keeps rebooting I restored from the back up it but it keeps rebooting,

My Itouch started rebooting, when i plugged it into itune it told me I needed to restore from back up after several attemps ( I received an error 9 message) I finaly got it to restore, but it just keeps rebooting!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mod
       http://www.wikihow.com/Put-an-iPod-or-iPhone-into-DFU-Mode
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable or another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • 30g Ipod Video keeps rebooting

I just got the new Itunes 9.0 and synced my Ipod video as usual, but now it just keeps rebooting and is stuck on the black screen with the white apple.
I have tried (twice) going into disk mode, and restoring the Ipod, but it still has the same issue. I have also tried plugging it into a wall charger.
Any help would be appreciated Thanks in advanced!

probably the next best thing to try is attempting to reset it while it is connected to a power source (like the PC). see:
iPod only shows an Apple logo and doesn't start up
