WLC Audits on WCS - Configuration names question

Hi Everyone,
I've been clearing up the config differences between my WCS and the WLCs and for the most part I've identified what each line in the audit report refers to. However the following has me stumped:

It would be really easy to just do a "restore values from controller" to reslove the differences but I'd really like to find these within the configuration pages in order to increase my understanding of the CUWN.
Can anyone tell me what these entries are?

Problem audit mismatch WCS/WLC for local net user

HI,
I have a problem in my WCS the audit status is mismatch for my two controllers. When I see the details of the mismatch, it is said that all my 400 users are "not present in controller".
However, I checked directly on my web interface of my controllers and my users are there (Security--> AAA--> Local Net Users). I've also checked on the WCS (ConfigureàControllersà controlerà Security à AAA -> local net user).
In both My users are present and are identical.
When i refresh config from controllers on the WCS it disappears but a week after the mismatch comes back.

We are having the same issue. We had WLC code 7.0.116.0 with WCS giving us mismatches on certain thresholds, despite the fact that the controller and the WCS configs were a match and no one made changes. We would refresh confgi from controller and a week later, the mismatch was back. It's as if there was something wrong with the WCS database. We upgraded to NCS 1.1 and are now on WLC code 7.0.230.0 and it worked for a while, but we are now randomly experiencing the same issues and then some with NCS.
We have a multi-tenant campus that has several of another organizations access points configured as friendly in NCS, but the controllers still had them as rogue and were containing them. We are also experiencing a max client count threshold that is set to 20 on the controller, but NCS is now reverting back to the default 12 value and giving off a mismatch. I don't know if there is a SQL issue with the database or not, but we service roughly 3000 users on a 5 million sq. ft. campus and some of these mismatches and failure to identify critical mismatches is starting to become a problem. Going to open a TAC case, but if anyone has any insight in the mean time, that would be helpful. Thanks!

Configuration name of an InDesign Server instance

I have an question.
I started several instance of InDesignServer with different gonfiguration name.(Server_1 , Server_2 ...)

Does anybody know how can I get the configuration name of the given instance of InDesign Setver in my plugin?
The reason is I want to write different settings for every instance in separate files.

from the CCommandLineArgs.h file:
i "At startup an object of type CCommandLineArgs is created and referenced by the global variable gCommandLineArgs, declared below. Command line arguments should be accessed through this variable."
you can use the variable gCommandLineArgs to get the arguments.

OS X 10.4.11 Server - configured name and reverse DNS do not match / DNS

I have looked for similar posts but all seem to have different scenarios, hoping to get an answer from someone more experienced than myself before I do anything silly.
Help much appreciated!
Scenario:
We run a 10.4.11 OS X Server on an XServe, hosted at an ISP. ISP provides all DNS services, incl. the reversed DNS entry.
I am currently only running the following services (based on the display in ServerAdmin):
AFP
Firewall
iChat
Mail
QuickTimeStreaming
Web
All others (incl. DNS) are grayed out. (As ISP instructed us not to add a DNS service on our box, that's "normal" according to my experiences with dedicated /co-location server hosting).
We never used changeip after the initial setup, meaning the server's
Current Hostname = somename.local and
DNS Hostname = mail.ourdomainname.net
So in system.log I find this re-occuring entry:
Jul 8 11:41:22 somename servermgrd: servermgr_dns: configured name and reverse DNS name do not match (somename.local != mail.ourdomainname.net), various services may not function properly - use changeip to repair and/or correct DNS
Finally, my question:
As Mail and Web services etc. are currently running OK from what I can tell,
1) do I HAVE to change this at all?
2) Would it be much better / why?
3) Could I change this using the following command
(111.11.111.1 indicating the server's IP address)
changeip 111.11.111.1 111.11.111.1 somename.local mail.ourdomainname.net
4) without running a DNS server on the machine, i.e. DNS service is not required for this to work?
5) obviously I want to be able to use Server Admin after I issue this command...
6) can I fall back easily in case this would screw it up, or is there no risk whatsoever doing this in my case?

If port 443 is already being used on the same box as KMS then it will complain and probably not start the service? I've seen this with LDAP port 636. This is when Kerio is installed on a server configured as an OD Master. Clearly the port can't be used by both servers.
It might be easier to change the port your sites are currently using to something else? Although don't do anything yet. Pose the question to Kerio Support and see what advice they offer.
Yes moving the mail to a local folder on the mail client will do it.
Is Kerio going on the same box? If its a different box (presumably different IP address?) Then what you can do is to port forward to the new server's IP address instead of disabling it. This way while you are bringing the new server on line users can still send mail right up until the time you give instructions on changing their inbound/outbound mail server details. Of course they won't be able to receive but if you time it right they may not even get an error message? Depends on what their schedules are.
If it was me I would choose IMAP every time. As the mail admin you have full control and a central location for easy backup. KMS has a built in archiving feature that makes this a simple process. This is an easier option than going round individual client machines and making sure mail held locally in POP accounts are backed up. Besides there is always someone who falls through the loop and I'm not taking into account drive failures. It makes good sense anyway as there is talk of legislation being introduced to make this a requirement for businesses who run their own mail servers. This is certainly true for certain parts of the US and what usually happens there is generally taken up in the UK and most parts of Europe.
Kerio's WebMail Client means users don't even have to have their own computer. Just as long as they have access to one that has access to the internet they can send/receive mail. No need for dedicated mail applications such as Apple Mail, Thunderbird, Entourage etc. How mail is uses remains consistent for all users.
Yes. I did this not so long ago with Leopard's built in Mail Server. I sent an e-mail defining a time when no inbound mail would be received. Disabled port forwarding for SMTP port 25 and approx 30 minutes after that another mail stating no outbound mail should be sent. Once everything was swopped over (we were changing from a G4 10.4 server to a G5 10.5 Server) port 25 was enabled, new server brought online and everyone was mailing again with no appreciable downtime.
These boxes were to have the same IP address hence the slightly different approach.

There is central WCS and two local WCS in the environment.The local WLC is managemed by local WCS.Now,we want to manage the local WLC through central WCS..So, can one WLC be managed locally and centrally?..We are using WCS 5.1 version...Kindly help urgently...

BPM 10g: configuration name [ ProjectName ] and type [SQL] is not defined.

Hi There,
I try to help a colleague with his BPM10g project. When I start the engine in BPM Studio with his project I eventually get this error in a popup:
"The configuration name [<ProjectName>] and type [SQL] is not defined.
Detail: The connector must be configured in the appropriate context."
I upgraded from 10.3.1 to 10.3.2, but did not help. Still my own project and another svn-branch of his project do work.
Anybody any ideas on where to look?

I found out that the folder must be the same as in the project file.

Retrieving formsweb configuration name

In forms 10g it is possible to retrieve the configuration name of formsweb using get_application_property. What is the property name to do this?

I am not aware of any get_application_property parameter to do this. Here is a workaround:
1. Create a custom parameter in Forms, for example "the_config_name"
2. In a global section of formsweb.cfg (assuming all you applications need to be aware of the config name) you create the following entry
otherparams=the_config_name=%config%
Now, in Foirms, you should be able to get the name of the configuration through :parameter.the_config_name

i found the go.bat file in the following path in my system
/usr/sap/EEP/JC00/j2ee/admin/go.bat
now i want to run that "go.bat" but i don't know how to run this in linux machine but my portal server is installed in linux machine.so, can any one help me how to run that file in order to configure name server .
and also can any one tell me how to find out the server name and port number in order to fill the following format in name sererver
tcpip://<%nameserver%>:portnumber

Generate a Local net user Report from WLC or through WCS

Need advice regarding downloading the Local net user list from Anchor WLC or through WCS. In WCS I could not find any menu to generate a report on Local net users in other words Guest account list.

I don't know aobut using WCS, but you can always run a command through the cli:
show netuser summary

Unable to find scanner configuration name - PIOS Exception

I am trying to activate the barcode scanner of SYMBOL 9090 pocket pc. I am following the code given in the SAP help PIOS examples for scanner.

I have installed the corresponding driver and connector. While executing the code following exception is thrown at line 5 (***).

Cisco ACS 5.1 & Cisco WLC 5508 & Cisco WCS

I have managed to get TACACS+ working for the WLC and WCS but having trouble with Radius for management authentication and authorization.
Anyone got and ideas or good documents on how to authenticate administrators using radius ACS 5.1 for WLC 5508 and WCS 6
I take it that I still need to define roles?

You may try this with radius-ietf under shell-privelege
For read-write privileges for the user, set the Service-Type Attribute to Administrative.
For read-only privileges for the user, set the Service-Type Attribute to NAS-Prompt.

Uanble to Select UWL-Configuration names from Current Configurations Tab

Hi Team,
In UWL , i have multiple configurations names in current Configurations Tab, Once i click on Current configuration Tab, it is selecting first Configuration name as a default one(it's prority is High).
After that i am trying to select second(or anyone otherthan default) configuration name & Download the cnfiguration XML file, but i am unable to select second configuration name.
Could you please help on this?

I am not sure exactly where you are doing this. Could you please step by step here in the thread? Are you trying to select the 2nd xml file in the configurations through the admin tab and trying to download it but nothing is happening? If so can you copy the jtechf and jtechs along with UWL/KM/J2EE/Portal versions and post them here in this thread?

Is there a reason you want to change the password from the WCS and not from the WLC? If you are locked out, here is a good link from George's blog

Logging the Lobby Ambassador Activities
The following activities are logged for each lobby ambassador account:
â¢Lobby ambassador login: WCS logs the authentication operation results for all users.
â¢Guest user creation: When a lobby ambassador creates a guest user account, WCS logs the guest user name.
â¢Guest user deletion: When a lobby ambassador deletes the guest user account, WCS logs the deleted guest user name.
â¢Account updates: WCS logs the details of any updates made to the guest user account. For example, increasing the life time.
Follow these steps to view the lobby ambassador activities.
Note You must have superuser status to open this window.
Step 1 Log into the Navigator or WCS user interface as an administrator.
Step 2 Click Administration > AAA, then click Groups in the left sidebar menu to display the All Groups window.
Step 3 On the All Groups windows, click the Audit Trail icon for the lobby ambassador account you want to view. The Audit Trail window for the lobby ambassador displays.
This window enables you to view a list of lobby ambassador activities over time.
â¢User: User login name
â¢Operation: Type of operation audited
â¢Time: Time operation was audited
â¢Status: Success or failure
Step 4 To clear the audit trail, choose Clear Audit Trail from the Select a command drop-down menu and click GO.
