WLC base license vs evolution licenses

Good afternoon,
one of my client I had ordered 100 adder license for his new setup.
current setup have only 40 license. now i want to use 20 more aps with his existing wlc 5508.
now my question is that, can i use my existing as well as evolution licenses for time being (e.g. 40+evolution) or  i can use only evolution for time being. after coming my new adder licenses, i can add my new ap license in WLC and  roll back as it is. or how it will act.
can you help me in that.

Hi Nalin,
I don't think you can use an evaluation to increase an existing license. Normally Evalaution are  for WLC's with zero AP license and that expire after 60 days.
Better to order adder licencse and then use other APs.

    You would need an upgrade license to go from base to plus.

  • [SOLVED] Why aren't the MIT/BSD licenses in the license package?

    The PKGBUILD Wiki page states that
    The BSD, MIT, zlib/png and Python licenses are special cases and could not be included in the licenses package.
    Can someone explain why this is?  I rather like both the BSD and MIT licenses.

    The BSD, MIT, zlib/png and Python licenses are special cases and could not be included in the licenses package. For the sake of the license array, it is treated as a common license (license=('BSD'), license=('MIT'), license=('ZLIB') and license=('Python')) but technically each one is a custom license because each one has its own copyright line. Any packages licensed under these four should have its own unique license stored in /usr/share/licenses/pkgname. Some packages may not be covered by a single license. In these cases, multiple entries may be made in the license array, e.g. license=('GPL' 'custom:name of license').

  • What could change the Computer ID used for the licenses in NI License Manager?

    at our customer site we originally set up our software which uses the Vision Run-Time and Vision Acquisition Software.    We purchased a license for the PC and it was installed. It has been running since July.   but today the customer started getting errors asking for the license. using NI license manager we see "Status: Activated for a different computer"
    looking further we now see a different "Computer ID" code   I have original screen shots of when I originally applied the license so I know the Computer ID was not a typo.   
    The customer says no one has swapped out the PC's,  but is currently looking to see if any other work was done.
    Has anyone expirenced this before?

    That’s a question, I was now expecting from you.
    Specifically, In US Scenario, we have two kinds of licenses to be obtained from Federal Department of Commerce. These are broadly classified as General Licenses and Validated Licenses.
    1.     General Licenses:- This is a class of licenses, which can be used by the concerned party directly without any approval from the Government Authorities as soon as its fits a scenario like for the case of License Type EXCPT—License Exception.
    2.     Validated License Types: - This is class of License which requires prior Approval from the Government Authorities as soon as its fits a scenario like for the case of License Type VL, IVL , IVLP, DSP5 etc.
    In this case, there is a further classification as follows:-
    VL-->Validated License Type. This is for the above mentioned conditions but without any specific case.
    IVL--> Individual Validated License Type. This is again with the above mentioned case but for a specific quantity of a particular product.
    IVLP-->Individual Validated License Type (Partner Specific). This is again with the above mentioned case but for a specific quantity of a particular product and for a specific partner involved.
    DSP5 etc.--> DSP-5 Application /License for Permanent Export of Unclassified Defense articles and related unclassified data. These classes of License types are specifically to adhere to the ITAR regulation of US Government to ensure movement of Dual use and Defense Articles.

    can anyone tell me where to get capacity license???   I had just registered an account in the VMware website,then I downloaded the stagemanager software and obtained a evaluation license.but when I installed and configured stagemanager, I found that it needed two license--server license and capacity license, I only have such a evaluation license, what can I do？

    my stagemanager version is 1.0.0
    when i open the configuration page,it  prompted me to type in two license code,server and capacity.
    but i just downloaded the software with evaluation mode,and  vmware automatically gave me one license

    A question about VM instances on standard server 2012 license exists here

    My question is tad different...
    If I understand this correctly, 1 windows server standard license provides support for 1 Physical Operating System Environment (The VM Host /  POSE) and permission to run 2 Virtual Operating System Environment(VOSE).
    Does this imply that I can install 2 additional instances of Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition on the permitted 2 VM instances on the server? Or... should I purchase additional licenses for each VOSE that runs windows?
    Does the standard license provide rights to run  2 Virtual instances AND offer install and activation rights for 2 MS windows (virtual) environments AND install and activation rights for the windows host?
    If license is require for each instance of server 2012 running on the VM ... can I avoid purchasing additional licenses for operating systems, say, if I run 2 Centos operating system instances in 2 VOSE?

    Licensing questions should be asked of a trained Microsoft licensing specialist.  I haven't seen one of those lurking in this forum.  www.microsoft.com/licensing.
    That said, licenses are assigned to the physical host, not to VMs.  The License you assign to the host grants you the "right to run" addition virtual operating system environments running Windows Server.  It does not grant you additional licenses. 
    Licensing for Microsoft Windows Server operating system is controlled by Microsoft.  Licensing for any other operating system is not covered by the virtualization rights of the Windows Server operating system.  Therefore, if the CentOS virtual machines
    are properly licensed by whoever licenses them, you can run however many instances that license allows.
    A single Standard Edition license can be installed on the physical host granting you the right to run up to two virtual instances of Standard Edition.  However, if you run additional services, such as file services or Active Directory or IIS, etc.,
    on the physical instance, that means you can only run one additional virtual instance of Windows Server.
    Free advice is worth every cent.

  • Delete an 8.8 License File from License Server

    Does anyone know how to delete a License File from the License Server in 8.8? We have 2 license files installed on the license server, but one license was a test license that we no longer need. The test license (a Global License) contains more B1 licenses than the live customer license (a US License), so it is imperative that we delete the test license. The customer is able to change the license files in License Administration. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the license server but the test license is still there.

    Hi,
    Try to delete the license file that available in this folder:
    ...\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\License
    e.g. B1LicenseFile-www202xxxx1 and B1LicenseFile-www0yyyyyy. The www202xxxx1 will be the installation number of the license.
    if you have deleted the unused license file e.g. B1LicenseFile-www202xxxx1 in the folder, you will not find it anymore in the installation number list of license manager --> general setting --> installation number.

  • How do RDP clients obtain license from host/license server?

    Hi,
    I have a W2k8 R2 server setup with Remote Desktop Session Host and Licensing. This will be used to allow more than 2 RDP connections to a server. 
     Can someone explain the process from the client side, getting the license from the host/licensing server, then connect to the server they need to manage?
    What configuration is needed on the client/server side to know it needs check for a RDP license?

    How the connection works,
    The clients will first connect to Remote Desktop Session Host. The Session host will forward it to the License Server.
    You have the option to tell the Remote Desktop Session host to say which is the license server it should contact. Check this link below to see how to do this.

    All the CAL licenses will be installed and configured in the License Server.
    There are two types of CAL licenses - Per User and Per Device CALs. Based on the type of license available in the License server, the license will be obtained and the user's connection is forwarded to the Remote Desktop Session host server.
    If no license is available in the Licensing server, it will fail there.

    On the Toshiba Recovery CD you can find the Toshiba image. Toshiba image contains the OS (Vista in your case), Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.
    The recovery CD is not the same like a original Microsoft OS CD and the Vista on the Toshiba recovery CD is already activated.
    By the way; The OEM key (which activated the Vista on the Toshima image) cannot be used with other, different Vista OS. This will not function.

    This is the error I received from an addon.  It works running it on the server where the SAP license is but as soon as a SAP client starts and the addon tries to connect I receive the error but I don't understand there's no different about the SAP code given to connect an addon.
    Here's the method in which it fails

  • Add one new license too existing licenses

    Hi people,
    I need to add a new license to that already existing for a customer.
    Since the customer is not one of mine, I cannot produce the license.lic with all his licenses with the new in add.
    So I need to send to him a .lic within just the new license; obviously, when this file is loaded, it hasn't reset the existing licences.
    Is this possible by SAP Marketplace?
    Moreover, can I obtain this programmatically by SBO License COM Bridge?

    Just for check if I correctly understood your mean.
    You are suggesting me the usual way to add a new licence at a mine customer and so, alternative, via:

    I gain the link Request license key, select the customer, select the customer system, continue over the system details and, finally, I choose the new partner solution to add.
    Ok, if this is that you mean, it's not the solution for my need because:
    1) the prerequisite is that the customer is one of my customers (but I suppose that I have to create he if I want to sell he a license, and this is ok)
    2) when I add this new customer to mine, I haven't his current licenses dashboard, and that I'm adding to he is the first license of his dashboard.
    What happen when I send he the B01_multiple.txt license file within just the license for my add-on?
    Scenario 1) all his current licenses are reset and the unique license in his license manager is the mine;
    Scenario 2) the new license is simply added at the current licenses in his license manager.
    The request
    In case of Scenario 1 - deprecated - how can I correctly to manage this kind of business?
