WLC Diagnostic Channel: How to use it?

Does anyone know how the "Diagnostic Channel" feature in v4.1 of WLC code can be used to troubleshoot client issues? Once I check the checkbox in the WLAN Advanced properties tab, what are the next steps? Do I need to do anything on the client(s)? Where do I find the logging information the diagnostics produce?
The documentation on this feature is apparently non-existent except a small blip in the command reference guide about enabling it, but no further information on how it's used.

I thought the diagnostic channel is used when you are having problems with that WLAN, i.e., that it creates a separate channel between the client(s) and WLAN for sending client-side diagnostic data to the WLC.
Maybe I should back up with the question and start with:
How does the diagnostic channel feature work? Can you give me an example when I would use it?

I'm just really curious about this. I was looking through the diagnostic screen on my iPod and went to the "Line In" choice. I selected it, and pressed Action like it said and it didn't do anything. What is the Line In function on this and what can I do with it and use it?
Another thing is I've installed Rockbox on mine and have used it for 6 months, and it has a Recording feature on it, and for a source to record from, I can select Line In or Microphone and I'm wondering if this is the same thing.

Tektronix AFG 3022: How to use both channel with VISA

Hi all!
I am trying to control the AFG with LabView using the NI VISA driver. There are several given VIs I can use, but I don´t know how to use both channels at the same time correctly. I attached a VI I made.
Problems are:
-Sometimes it works, sometimes random errors occur.
-The waveform generation doesn´t start at the same time.
-To stop the waveform generation I used the "initialize VI" because I found no better one. Else the generation goes on and on, even though the task was terminated in LabView.
-How can I trigger the AFG with my NI 6259 in LabView?
I hope someone has some good ideas helping me out...

thanks for the replay. You helped me out very good! I had the Visa driver. I downloaded the driver in your link and it´s way better (more functionality) than the one I used. I now have a configuration, which is working. But there are two things I still doen´t know:
- How can I put out a trigger signal on the NI 6259. Am I doing this over the normal daqmx VIs? (I, by now, didn´t have the time to try it myself, maybe someone can give me a hint. Saves time...)
- I want to create two signals on the AFG that are the same, but one is inverted. At the AFG it is no problem (output menu-> invert on/off). This function doesn´t seem to be available in the driver. Is there a possibilty to modify the driver and create a VI with that functionality? Can anyone do this for me or explain to me what I need to do it myself and how to do it?

How to make a virtual channel in MAX using DAQmx ?

I want to measure the CJC temperature on the TBX 1328 ( attached to SCXI 1121). I want to create a virtual channel in MAX using DAQmx. I have right clicked on DAQmx but there is no option for virtual channel. Ther is the option of 'Traditional virtual channel' which i dont want.
I used the VI to make the virtual channel but i want to knowhow to doit inMAX.

Here are 2 ways that you can create a DAQmx channel that appears in MAX.
1) In MAX, right click on "Data Neighborhood" and select "Create New...". Then click "NI-DAQmx Global Channel" (or "NI-DAQmx Task" -- a task contains the channel(s) and triggering/timing information) and click "Next". This launches the DAQ Assistant that will guide you in creating the channel or task.
2) In LV, place a NI-DAQmx Global Channel control on your panel or constant on your diagram. Right click on the control/constant and select "New Channel(DAQ Assistant)..." (Note: You can do the same from the NI-DAQmx Task control/constant to create a NI-DAQmx Task.)

Hi All, I've configured my Cluster Vserver to be able to authenticate via a self signed certificate. I'm able to use Perl NMSDK to connect and it works good. I want to use Powershell cmdlets for this. How can I do this? I've tried Connect-NcCluster but I don't see any option to specify a certificate there. I'm also open to use NMSDK for Posh if someone can guide how to use it. I've tried that too but I can't get it working. Can anyone help? sinhaa

Hi Sinhaa - You've discovered the key difference between the Perl API bindings in the NMSDK and the PowerShell toolkit. The NMSDK, and with the Perl bindings in particular, easily exposes the entire SDK from basic connection methods, the lowlevel XML building mechanisms, and a single function wrapper around each individual ZAPI function call that handles both the XML building from and recoveyr into convenient Perl data structures. The entire API is accessible including higher privilege level options and commands. The PowerShell toolkit is much more a convenience wrapper around common functions for those in a Windows environment. It doesn't expose the entire API, it doesn't expose all the parameters of the APIs that it does wrap (for instance, you can't access or use options only available in Advanced or Diagnostic mode), and security is somewhat Windows centric in that it uses a saved credential model similar to other Windows systems. As my company tends to be more Windows centric the PowerShell toolkit tends to be the default utility used for most automation, but I drop to the Perl NMSDK bindings for almost everything I do of substance because I need the abilities it provides. I've asked through many channels for the PowerShell toolkit to at least add Advanced mode privilige options for a number of the cmdlets it provides. Haven't yet seen any indication that those will be forthcoming. Bob

How to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

My flex project works fine using the below but when I upload my flash file to the server I doesn't work, all the relative paths and files are the same execpt the remote one is a linux server.

I think the problem is the line

but I'm not sure how to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

In Flex, there is feature that lets developer to put all service-config.xml file configuration information into swf file. with
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
IF
services-config.xml
have tokens in it and user have not specified additional
-context-root
and this swf file is not served from web-app-server (like tomcat for example) than it will not work,
Flash player have no possible way to replace token values of service-config.xml file durring runtime if that service-config.xml file have been baked into swf file during compilation,
for example during development you can launch your swf file from your browser with file// protocol and still be able to access blazeDS services if
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
have been specified durring compilation.
I dont know any better way to exmplain this, but in summary there is two places that you can tell swf about service confogiration,
1) pass -services=path/to/services-config.xml parameter to compiler this way you tell swf file up front about all that good stuff,
or 2) you put that file on the webserver( in this case, yes you should have replacement tokens in that file) and they will be repaced at runtime .

I successed to add one of theme by the option 60 in the DHCP pool at the Core SW,

To add to Scott's post. Option 60 would be useful if you needed to put certain types of AP on specific controllers. Otherwise, no real need to use it for the most part.
Though, I do recall an issue a few years ago that some windows machines had issues getting DHCP if option 43 is being returned.
Now, on an IOS switch, you can only configure one option 60 per DHCP scope

How to use ZendAMF with multiple services?

I followed Mihai Corlan's tutorial (http://corlan.org/2008/11/13/flex-and-php-remoting-with-zend-amf/) to create a remote service with Zend AMF, and it works great.
But, I can't figure out how to use multiple RemoteObjects. I keep getting the infamous:
faultCode:Client.Error.DeliveryInDoubt faultString:'Channel disconnected' faultDetail:'Channel disconnected
before an acknowledgement was received'
I set up my second RemoteObject the same way that I set up my first one. But, I can't get it to work.
Any suggestions? Has anyone seen examples of multiple services being used?

How to use the CMS functionality in Sun Portal Server 7.2

How to use the CMS functionality using the ccd.war(Portlet) which is available in the library as i could add it to my channel but not able to show the functionality as it is showing the error msg "You are currently not logged in. Please login." should I create userid and there respective roles inorder to use the CMS functionality.
Has any one used this as I could this in glass fish server.
Any Input is appreciated.

Alternatively,
1. ccd.war has 3 portlets in it:
(a) custom content definition portlet
(b) custom content portlet
(c) workflow portlet
2. Inorder to work with these portlets, user needs to be in anyone of the below roles:
(a)Consumer (b) Editor (c) Approver (d) Administrator (e) Submitter (f) Contributor (g) Publisher
3. By default ccd.war gets deployed using a default roles file (/var/opt/SUNWportal/tmp/ccd.roles.properties)
Note: In windows, you may not find this file
4. Access the portlets as a user in any of the role mentioned in the ccd.roles.properties
(OR)
you can use a new roles file which has mapping to your custom roles. For this , undeploy existing ccd.war and deploy again with a new roles.properties file

Please advise how to use JDBC lookup in message mapping PI 7.1 ? any reference link / document ?
I have followed this step below :
1. Create the external definition for the database table.
2. Use the external definition (table) in message mapping JDBC Lookup.
But the target still "Yellow colour" meanint the mapping hasnot completed yet ? why ? and when i double click the JDBC lookup
there some error message
"No suitable parameter found; define new parameter of type 'Channel' first"

Hi Fernand,
JDBC Lookup can be done in PI 7.1 using below mentioned steps :
1) Create a communication channel between PI and the database to connect to database.
2) Import the table data as External Definition.
3) In message mapping where this lookup is to be used select JDBC Lookup under Conversions and map
4) Double Click on JDBC Lookup
5) Select parameter and a database table (imported as the external definition). All the elements of the table will appear in the middle column. Select and move the input parameters to the left side column and the output parameters to the right side column. Click OK.
6) Under message mapping go to signature tab and define the parameter as channel and category as JDBC Adapter Type.
7) Under Operation mapping define the parameter & associate it with parameter defined in Message Mapping.
