WLC ignore redirect from ISE

Hi all,
I have a question about redirect on a WLC 2504.
The problem is that with domain computers the WLC skip POSTURE_REQD an goes in RUN state directly when connecting to the guest SSID. No CWA and guest portal. If I use a non-domain computer, or an iPhone, the guest flow is working as it should.
On ISE a can see that the correct AuthZ profile is sent,  verified  this with Wireshark as well, (and non-domain devices are working).
On the WLC I can see under client information that  there is a redirect url and a redirect ACL, but on a domain computer the  state is RUN directly.
(non domain devices have POSTURE_REQD).
This is on a open guest WLAN with CWA configured on a WLC 2504 v7.2.111 with an ISE v1.1.3 as AAA server.
There are other WLAN on the WLC using NPS as AAA at the moment, a guest WLAN with LWA and a campus 802.1X PEAP WLAN.
There is also a BYOD WLAN not in production yet, but working, using ISE as AAA server.
Anyone have any good idé about this?
Update:
Same problem with a Windows Mobile 8 phone, Nokia Lumia 920, not in the domain.  It just skiped redirect and got RUN state on the WLC without credentials.

No this is only on the guest WLAN.
Actually I found the problem when testing dual setup for BYOD, I did only gave a domain computer to test windows provisioning on, but it never gets that far in the process.

  • When WLC will dACL from ISE

    Hi all !
    We are used ISE for aaa our users, but our problems is not simple configuration ACL for users access on WLC,
    When Cisco make support dACL on WLC (not airspaceACL), it's very important.
    Because using GUI WCL for create ACL with limit 64 entry, you think it's normal?
    We are do not use VLAN assignment, because it's not work correctly in PEAP MS Windows DomainMachine or User authen, and after DomainMachine auth, User auth not vlan assignment, and user should reconnect to WLAN for correct VLAN  assignment.
    Thanks

    To further expand, I think Cisco and the industry is heading towards SGT/SGA so dACLs are going to be the "old-way" of doing things.

  • 5760 v3.6 guest portal redirect to ISE

    I'm testing a new set of 5760 controllers for a future production rollout, running software version 3.6.  Our current production setup consists of older WISM-1 and 4402 controllers running CUWN 7.0.  Our guest network has an anchor in the DMZ, redirecting to ISE.
    In the recent thread (https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12319151/3850-ise-guestportal-no-redirect-v-334), one of the posters said that guest redirection in 3.6 works similarly to redirection in CUWN, while in 3.3 it is very different.  I found the documentation for 3.3 (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/5700-series-wireless-lan-controllers/117717-config-wlc-00.html), which I have to say I don't like very much.  However, I find the configuration and command reference guides for 3.6 are less than helpful on this point.
    So the question I have is whether guest networking with an external redirect to ISE looks like the following in 3.6?  Or does it work like CUWN, where the SSID is configured with layer 3 security?  If it uses layer 3 security like CUWN, does anybody have a quick configuration sample for how it can work end to end in 3.6?
    ------ From the document http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/5700-series-wireless-lan-controllers/117717-config-wlc-00.html ---------
    The flow includes these steps:
    The user associates to the web authentication Service Set Identifier (SSID), which is in fact open+macfiltering and no Layer 3 security.
    The user opens the browser.
    The WLC redirects to the guest portal.
    The user authenticates on the portal.
    The ISE sends a RADIUS Change of Authorization (CoA - UDP Port 1700) in order to indicate to the controller that the user is valid, and eventually pushes RADIUS attributes such as the Access Control List (ACL).
    The user is prompted to retry the original URL.

    I have a project with a 5760 running 3.6 working to a 5508 anchor controller in a DMZ.
    I have web authentication working to an ISE OK.

  • BYOD Onboarding issue with Redirects on ISE 1.2

    Hi there,
    I'm having intermittent issues with onboarding endpoints (both wired and wireless) with ISE 1.2 (Patch 12).
    I get three differing scenarios upon attempting:
    1). I get redirected to the ISE Self Registration Portal, register, download the supplicant OK and then can browse with no problems.
    2) I dont get redirected at all and so never see the Self Registration portal. All browsing tries to go to the selected website and fails (presumably as the redirect URL is in place even if the browser is not "seeing" it). If I force the browser URL to to ISE I get the Self Registration Portal displayed but with no MAC details present so I can get no further.
    3) I get redirected, and seemingly Register OK, download the profiles etc...but after a "Registered Sucessfully" message, any attempt to browse to external website is again redirected to the Portal. I can then re-register again (it lets me do that as if the first time) but I just end up in that loop forever.
    These problems are mostly seen wirelessly (I have a WLC 5508) but also wired clients via 3850 wired ports. I am using a collection of endpoints (Andorid, IPads, Laptops) to test and de-registering them between attempts and the results are entirely random among the three scenarios.
    I am not changing any policies in between attempts so they are working fine at times, and not at others.
    Any help welcome!

    Hi Neno,
    Thanks for your reply. I have attached some info as requested. For AuthZ rules they should first hit an EAP-MSCHAPv2 rule via the secure SSID which redirects them to the NSP process and gives them an ACL on the WLC that only allows DHCP, DNS and traffic to from ISE.
    Afterward registration they should then get a certificate and then after a COA reauthenticate using EAP-TLS.
    All this works fine at times, but at other times Web traffic NEVER gets redirected to ISE to begin the registration process or alternatively endpoints are STUCK in a circle of registration in that the th redirect works OK and you register OK but the redirect is permanently on and you keep getting asked to re-register your device despite the fact you have already done it once.
    If you can avoid either of these scenarios, it works absolutely fine. It feels like the endpoints themselves are the issue, as I am using a small set of test devices to register (and then de-register) to test with.
    However the same device that wont work at all for many many attempts, will eventually suddenly work OK and the BYOD process completes. I do however seem to have a permanent problem with Surface Pro's in that I can never get them to see the redirect at all.

  • Guest WLC not talking to ISE it is in a DMZ

    I have allowed all IP to the ISE servers from the DMZ the Guest 5508 WLC sits. I see requests coming in from a WLAN configured on the inside WLC but nothing from the SSID that comes from the WLC within the DMZ it is a mobility anchor for the guest network on all my WLC's.  What needs to be opened for this communication? or will the mobility anchor type setup not work in the ISE world?  I have uploaded the config of the guest WLC we are on 7.6.130

    Does the anchor controller send this request? I see nothing from teh WLC thru the monitor in my ASA firewall for any WLAN traffic. Only talking back to the other controllers.  I'm confused over how this traffic flows, the main WLC holds the SSID's the Guest is handed off to the Guest controller thru the mobility but does the request to the radius or ISE servers come from the guest controller or the main controller the AP's belong to?

  • ISE....uh.......No response from ISE node again...

    What is up with No Response from ISE Node ??
    Even though it sounds like the PSN node can't communicate with AD, it does authenticate and retrieving Groups, and attrbitues.
    How can I fix this ?
    why is it saying 'No Response from ISE Node ?

    Hi,
    Communication is fine between all ISE nodes, replications is COMPLETE for all nodes.
    I am running 1.1.4.218 with Patch 4 on all servers.
    I have 4 servers in my 8 servers-deployment that are in that strange AD status.
    The command "show logging application ise tail" does not show bad things. The DisplayName is always equal to the HostName which is the same as the HostAlias (with the domain name). Please see below.é
    Any ideas ?

  • How to pass on variables while redirecting from BSP to HTML  page.

    Hi all,
    I have two BSP pages - BSP1, BSP2.  When I click a submit button on BSP1, it should call BSP2 wherein BSP2 will work silently behind the scenes and redirect some variable values through hidden form fields to BSP1 back.
    User will not see BSP2 in fact.  He just deals with BSP1, but when he clicks the submit button on BSP1, it silently calls BSP2, and then BSP2 will process something behind the scenes and sends back values through hidden form fields to BSP1 by means of redirection. After redirection from BSP2 to BSP1, I am not getting the hidden fields in BSP1.  From the BSP1, I am trying to get the hidden fields of BSP1 using:
    Here is how my code in BSP2 (redirecting to BSP1) looks like:
    <b>BSP2 : Layout:</b>
    <input type="hidden" name="hf1" value="vicky">
    <b>BSP2 : OnInitialization:</b>
      response->redirect( url_BSP1 ).
      navigation->response_complete( ).
    But when I am doing this, the hidden form fields from BSP2 are not being passed to BSP1 back.
    I am trying to get the form values <b>in BSP1</b> as below:
    <b>BSP1 : Layout:</b>
       <%
       data:  hfield type string.
       hfield = request->get_form_field('hf1').
       %>
    I even tried the above code in onRequest, and onInitialization sections.  But I am getting nothing.
    Please give me some ideas on how to deal with the redirection and get the hidden values out of that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Vicky.

    Hi,
    There are different ways to do it, but let's pick this one. It closes the popup. If you need additional things to be done, you can make a form with all hidden fields, submit that form, do the same close and do whatever you need in the inputprocessing
    <html>
      <head>
    <title>title</title>
          <script language="javascript">
              function init() {
              <%if count eq 1.%>
                  opener.document.form.F<%=field%>.value = '<%=value.%>';
              close();
             <%else.%>
          <%endif.%>
          </script>
      </head>
      <body onLoad="init();">
    </body>
    </html>

  • How to create HTTP 301 redirect from UCM 7.5.2

    Is it possible to send a HTTP response with a permanent redirect from a UCM/Stellent website? We're using version 7.5.2 with iDoc script.
    We can use the iDoc function setHttpHeader() to send the Location HTTP header, but how to send the HTTP response code 301, to signal the permanent redirect to the browser?

    Hi Rob,
    If you are using IIS there is a config variable that allows you do this. First create a virtual directory in IIS point to <install dir>\Inetpub\wwwroot directory.
    and then do the below steps
    a.     Login to Content Server
    b.     Click on Administration Admin Server
    c.     Click on Content Server instance name(button)
    d.     Click on General Configuration
    e.     Update SSWebFilterIgnoreList configuration variable
    f.     SSWebFilterIgnoreList=virtualDirectory There should not be any spaces
    g.     Click on save
    h.     Restart Content Server
    Let me if this is what you are looking for.

  • Getting URL redirects from Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" Search

    Hello all! I'm working on my final project for my intermediate programming class but I've hit a bit of a snag. This project is a "do whatever interests you, as long as it incoporates what we've learned this semester" type of project. (My personal favorite type of programming project!) I have a significant amount of code already complete, but here's my problem:
    To put it simply, my program:
    1) Takes a list of movie names
    2) Gets the movie poster from Wikipedia
    3) Saves the poster images to a folder
    4) Creates an HTML file, so I can see a visual representation of every movie on the list (btw, how do you like my idea?).
    I'm using (what I think to be) a very clever system of searching with Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" search (using detailed search terms such as "air+force+one+movie+wikipedia" that will, more than likely, always take me to the right page (if it exists))...
    Basically, my getPic(String url) method is now throwing an exception when I try to search the page that Google redirects me to, and I'm guessing it might be because the code is trying to search the "I'm Feeling Lucky" redirect page, instead of the page it is supposed to redirect to.
    I get the following error:
    10000 BC
    A connection to http://www.google.com/search?btnI=1&q=10000+bc+movie+wiki could not be established.
    java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: http://www.google.com/search?btnI=1&q=10000+bc+movie+wiki
         at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
         at java.net.URL.openStream(Unknown Source)
         at GetWikiPiki.getPic(GetWikiPiki.java:44)
         at MovieList.makeMovieList(MovieList.java:109)
         at MakeMovieList.main(MakeMovieList.java:13)(Etc, with all the movies giving the same exception.)
    If my guess is correct, could someone please inform me on how to either:
    a) Follow the redirection from Google to the Wikipedia page or
    b) Obtain the URL which the Google search will redirect me to.
    Preferably b, so I can program it not to need to recreate each movie search every time the program runs.
    Or if you have another idea of what it could be, please feel free to make suggestions.
    Thanks a lot,
    Derek

    When I tried printing the source of, for example, http://www.google.com/search?btnI=1&q=10000+bc+movie+wiki it gave me the source code to the Wikipedia 10,000 BC page with no errors at all.
    Does this mean that it could be something wrong in my code and not Google?
    Here is the code I'm using in the particular section that throws an exception:
          * Gets the image address of a movie poster from Wikipedia via
          * parsing the passed-in URL.
          * @param url The website address (URL) of a Wikipedia article containing a movie poster.
          * @return The first occurrence, in "picture_name.jpg" format, of an
          * image whose address contains "http://" and ".jpg".
    public String getPic(String url) {
              try {
                   URL connection = new URL(url);
                   InputStream in = connection.openStream();
                   Scanner console = new Scanner(in);
                   while(console.hasNext()) {
                        String temp = console.next();
                        if(temp.contains("http://") && temp.contains(".jpg")) {
                             String temp2 = temp.replace("src", "").replace("=", "").replace("\"", "");
                             return temp2;
              catch(IOException e) {
              System.out.println("A connection to " + url + " could not be established.");
              e.printStackTrace();
              return null;

  • Yahoo mail redirects my email page to another trap page that asks me to upgrade. Is there an extension I can use to redirect from that site?

    I would like to know if there's an extension, or if I need to write a script so that Firefox will stop a redirect to a trap yahoo page, that yahoo causes when I try to access my yahoo mail account. Yahoo redirects from my email page every time I try to access it. I can force my way back to email if I highlight the following from the address bar and delete it: /neo/trap?dm=cl&ncrumb=IvdoOqzobdy&.rand=1254591153
    That address qualification appears when I try to access "mail.yahoo.com"
    If there is no extension I can use, can you explain what I should use to write a script? And where I can research to learn how to write it.
    If you could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

    ok, you could use the greasemonkey extension & this userscript: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/113518 (i haven't tested it myself, but judging from the description it may apply to your case)

  • How to make a redirect without auto-redirect from the portlet "edit" mode?

    How to make a redirect without auto-redirect from the portlet "edit" mode?
    I use some sofisticated customizing with server-side validation of the form data. I want to redirect to the page of the portlet "show" mode and to the "edit" mode depending on the validation results. How can I do it?

    Heay.....this worked for me.
    I am able to change the mode programatically from edit to show.
    HttpPortletRendererUtil.handleEditAction(portletRenderRequest,"OK");
    I removed Apply , OK and Cancel buttons and applied my own Submit and Back button in Personalize mode and then change the mode to show on click of Back button using the above mentioned statement.
    Thanks

  • CWA over wireless, timeout when redirecting to ISE guestporal

    I configurated CWA following this guide https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-26442
    And I apply a redirect-acl to allow traffic between endpoint and ise with dns allowed too.
    I use a static vlan on interface. And there is no vlan change after auth.
    Now endpoint can be redirected to ise node url, but visit timed out.
    Clients > Detail shows redirect-acl and redirect-url.
    Anyone here have some ideas?

  • Redirecting from an abstract portal component

    Hi,
    I'm trying to redirect from an abstract portal component to a quicklink. I do it like told in this thread:
    Redirecting to external website from abstract portal component?
    private void redirectUrl(String target, IPortalComponentRequest request) {
      try {
        HttpServletResponse resp = request.getServletResponse(true);
        resp.sendRedirect("../../../../portal/" + target);
      } catch (IOException e) {}
    It works, but the content of my target-URL is still in the Portal-Frame. So I've two time the Portal-Framework-Navigation. Something like this:
    | Welcome         |
    | Welcome         |
    | content         |
    |                 |
    |                 |
    |                 |
    My goal is to redirect the whole page, not only the frame.
    Thanks for any help...
    Regards, Markus

    Perhaps I can do it with
      public void doOnNodeReady(IPortalComponentRequest request){
        request.redirect("http://www.google.de");
    But like in this Tread, it didn't work AbstractPortalComponent and doOnNodeReady
