WLC is not responding to SNMP requests.

Customer is using a 4400 WLC.
He has a management tool that works using the SNMP logs from the controller, he can ping the
controller using this management tool, but when he sends SNMP requests from the management tool the
WLC doesn't reply.
The SNMP server IP address is 192.168.122.11 and the WLC's IP address is  10.20.1.31.
I have the following debug taken from the switchport where the WLC is connected.
'debug snmp agent' shows some interesting messages that confirms that the WLC is not sending a packet back.

I have also a packet capture taken from the same switchport, I attach it here.
What could be the reason for not responding?

You need to add the management tool in the WLC as a trap reciever.

Scott

  • Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests

    Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 sp1 cu5 with one primary in the datacenter and a number of local DP's which are presently servicing 200 users, but will rise to 12,000. The Application Catalogue is installed on the primary server.
Once a day we get the above error and the message id is 8101, and sometimes a user will have to click on install twice, with the first one failing (the ones that fail are normally with dependencies which are quite large in size around 250MB)
I'm just wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, especially since we will be ramping up user numbers in the next few weeks, and if it could be down to volume of traffic, although the apps are downloaded to the users local DP.
Also, does this design look suitable to service this amount of users, or should I have local application catalogues? The WAN bandwith between the datacenter and the user sites has recently been upgraded and is pretty fast.
    Thanks

    Hi Torsten,
Message ID is in the SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER status log and equates to "Application Web Service Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests. The http error is 12002.
Then, about 1 hr later in the same monitoring log I get Message ID 8102 "Application Web Service Control Manger detected AWEBSVC is responding to HTTP requests.
At the moment it isn't doing this very often, just once a day at different times normally, but it has also logged this a couple of times as well. I guess it may correspond to multiple users accessing the web portal at multiple times, but wondered if
anyone else has seen this behaviour and how it was fixed.
    Thanks

  • HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One Printer - B111h not responding to print requests on Windows 8

    Hello there,
Recently, I've been having these problems where the Printer is not responding for my requests to print on my HP Windows 8 Laptop for a PDF File. I had a message where it said that "Printer is in error state" but didn't get that message after I tried printing again. Now my printer is not responding to any print requests though the touch screen still works and is saying that the wireless is still working. If anyone could help me that would be great!
    Thank you for your time.

I see that you are having a problem printing from Windows 8.
See if you can print a self-test page or Printer status report from the printer itself. This will test the hardware functionality for the printer. If it does print, then it's a connection issue. If it does not print out, then we will need to try to deal with the hardware problems of the printer.
Run the print and scan doctor and check the results.

I hired a commercial artist to create a color image for the cover of a self published book. I want a black and white image for the inside. The commercial artist has not responded to this request. How do I determine the format of the color image, I'm guessing it's Illustrator's formatting but I don't know. How can I find out if Illustrator will open the file and allow alterations? The image opens only in Apple's Pages software?

    rons,
It seems that all you have is a raster image, presumable PNG24 or JPEG, in RGB.
It may have been created as raster artwork in Photoshop, or it may have been created as vector artwork with the help of Illy, or as a mixture of vector and raster artwork in either application, or both combined.
If you just need to have a raster representation in black and white based on the current colour image, you may try this, in a new RGB document (View>Smart Guides are your friends):
    1) File>Place the image (you may tick Link or untick and have it embedded);
    2) Create a rectangle with black fill (R = G = B = 0), at least as large as the image, and place it behind the image (you may ClickDrag with the Rectangle Tool between opposite corners, then Ctrl/Cmd+X+B);
    3) Select all and in the Transparnecy palette flyout click Make Opacity Mask with both Clip and Invert Mask ticked.

  • WLS 10.3 Does not respond to GET requests (HTTP/1.0)

    Hi All,
I have 2 WLS servers running on separate physical hosts behind a cisco CSS load balancer. The keep-alive method the Cisco CSS uses is HTTP GET messages. This keep-alive method does not appear to work, because my WLS servers are not responding to the GET requests with HTTP 200 OKs (as would be expected). These GET messaged appear in the access logs, as follows, but from traces taken on the host, there are no HTTP 200 messages ever transmitted. I see no exceptions or errors related to this in the server or access logs.
    WLS access log:
    192.168.1.1 - - [14/Dec/2011:18:23:35 +0000] "HEAD /APPDIR/index.jsp HTTP/1.0" 200 0
    192.168.1.1 - - [14/Dec/2011:18:23:45 +0000] "HEAD /APPDIR/index.jsp HTTP/1.0" 200 0
    192.168.1.1 - - [14/Dec/2011:18:23:55 +0000] "HEAD /APPDIR/index.jsp HTTP/1.0" 200 0
Interestingly, If i use a http-ping tool to send HEAD messages, the server correctly responds with the 200. A major difference between the CSS and the ping-tool, is that the CSS is using HTTP/1.0 where the ping tool uses HTTP/1.1. The GET requests are formatted a bit differently too. Below is how the different GET messages are formatted. Is it possible that WLS 11g does not support HTTP/1.0? Is there any method of debugging that I can employ to troubleshoot this further? As mentioned I do not see any errors or exceptions in the server logs or access logs....
    Many thanks, in advance.
HTTP-PING TOOL HEAD MESSAGE - weblogic responds to this message
    HEAD /APPDIR/index.jsp HTTP/1.1
    Host: myhost.domain.com:7005
    Accept: */*
LOAD BALANCER HEAD MESSAGE -weblogic does not respond to this message

    Accept-Language: en
    Accept-Charset: iso-8859-1,*,utf-8
    Host: 192.168.1.66

Other than failing the base address test, does the device seem to work in the test panels? One quick test would be to open the digital I/O panel, change some of the lines to output, toggle the logic levels, and see if the line states track the logic levels. Also, you can switch to the Counter I/O panel, change the mode to simple event counting, set the event source to the internal 100KHz clock, and start the counter. If the counter is working properly, you should see the counter value increase at a rate of 100000/second.
If the test panels seem to work OK, you may still be able to use the board, despite the resource test failing. I still can't explain why the test fails, though.

  • WebLogic is not responding to client request under heavy load

Under heavy loading, our WLS 6.0 SP2 will be not be responding to client requests
after some time, say, 1 hour. From the administration console, the request throughput
is 0 while request waiting accumulates to over 1,000. Even the clients stop making
request to the server, the request waiting will not drop. It seems that WLS blocked
on some threads and unable to serve the requests (see attached thread dump for
    details).
    Our configuration is as follow:
    OS: SunOS 5.7
Database: MS SQL Server 7.0 running on NT4 Enterprise Edition.
(JDBC Driver is the one bundled with WLS 6.0)
We know that using 'DriverManager.getConnection()' can cause deadlock in number
of cases but we have gone through all the code but all of our Database connections
are obtained through datasource. And the connection is closed properly in finally
    block.
Moreover, the application is originally running on WLS 4.51 but no problem is
    encountered.
Does any expert know what the problem and solution are?
    Thanks!
    [session.log]

It appears that some threads were possibly blocked at some jDriver calls
initially (ExecuteThread 0,10,15,23 of the default thread pool). WLS JTA
subsequently timed out and rolled back the transactions asynchronously. The
first rollback attempt was blocked at the jDriver level (ExecuteThread 18 of
the default thread pool). Each subsequent rollback retry blocks an
additional execute thread (due to a JTA bug that is fixed in WLS 6.1, but
not 6.0 SPs) - ExecuteThread 1-9,11-26 of the default thread pool.
Eventually, the server ran out of execute threads and became unresponsive.
It is unclear that whether the initial blocking of threads by the jDriver is
a jDriver issue or an application issue. Please report to BEA support at
    [email protected] for further assistance.

  • 6500 IOS HSRP Gateway not responding to ARP requests

WS-C6509, running Native IOS version 12.2(33)SXH4. Pair of 6500 configured with HSRP serving as Gateway to down stream clients
Ping requests from clients not having a Default Gateway (AIX Server Team recommendation) failing.
Packet capture show ARP requests being received by Gateway 6500, but Gateway will not respond for up to 30 seconds at which point ping requests will start working. But after a period of inactivity, the cycle starts over again - 30 second delay before traffic starts flowing.
Having a Default Gateway is a separate discussion. I'm just interested in being able to provide technical reason why this is occuring.
    Anyone experience this?
Any suggestions for addtional troubleshooting measures?
    Thanks in advance.

Looks to me like a timer problem - maybe a ARP timer on the clients? Check the ARP tables of your clients during your tests.

  • Network device is not responding to SNMP

    Hello All
We are monitoring our first network device (Cisco  FW) SNMP V2.
We discovered it and were able to collect performance counters for 2 hours.
After that, only thing we can collect is ICMP response. Also it keeps switching between healthy and warning state.

    Hi Helpful guy,
This problem occurs on some network devices in case that the maximum number (default 50) of OIDs that OM will query per batch is too high. You probably find a entry in the Cisco logs:
"incoming SNMP request (# bytes) from IP address
    IP_ADDRESS and PORT
PORT_NUMBER Interface "inside" exceeds data buffer size, discarding the SNMP request"
This problem can be solved by creating a registry key:
    location: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Modules\Global\SNMP]
    key type: DWORD value
    key name: MaxOidsPerRequest
    default: 50
Change the default value to one that suits your environment.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi Jeff,
How many people can you see if we open the meeting and view the tracking information from OWA?
Are the missing people external meeting attendees? By default, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 is not configured to process external meeting requests or meeting responses. Your mailbox has to be configured to process external meeting requests and meeting
    responses.

  • Cisco ASA Not Responding to SNMP

    Hi All,
I have a Cisco ASA that I am trying to discover with SNMP (Solar Winds). The Solarwinds server can ping the ASA on the E1 interface (on the same network as the server), yet it cannot be discovered using SNMP, it fails every time.
This is the config I have for the ASA.
    interface GigabitEthernet0/0.224
    description NMS
    vlan 224
    nameif NMS
    security-level 100

    no snmp-server location
    no snmp-server contact
    snmp-server community *****
snmp-server enable traps snmp authentication linkup linkdown coldstart
The server trying to discover the ASA is 10.11.120.235 and the community string is public.
Also, I do not know how you add a RW string to a Cisco ASA - it seems to only let you add a single string.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

    Hi Daniel,
The ASA supports only SNMP read-only access. SNMP write access is not allowed, so you cannot make changes with SNMP.
Have you tried to manualy pool the ASA using snmpget or some other tools. One issue might be the community used by Solarwinds.

  • Is it possible to not respond to a request based on user input

I have client side validation in place that 100% guarantees that so long as the user uses the page appropriately, a request will not be sent unless it is valid.
On the server side i am validating the parameters passed in. If the validation fails I would like to send no HTTP response to the user, as I can assume the request is "hostile".
Is it possible to do this? Thanks for your help

    hi :-)
if there is a request ;-) there is a response :-)
if you will not response to user's request what will be the output for the user?
i think you can do that but you can prefer a better response for an 'hostile' request, like sending a user to a custom page that send a warning that might lead to ip blocking or displaying an info that net activities are monitored or logged ;-)

  • Nexus 5548 not responding to snmp

I've got a Nexus 5548 running 6.0(2)N2(3).  It does not use the mgmt interface or management vrf.  It's using a vlan interface for all my management access.
I have a simple snmp config set up:
    snmp-server community mystring
My SNMP server is directly connected (no firewalls, no acls).  I can ping my nexus from the SNMP host, but can't get SNMP replies.
I've done an SNMP debug, nothing happens when I run an snmpwalk.  I also checked show snmp, and it's showing no SNMP input packets.
Could this have something to do with trying to use the management vrf?  Or something simple I'm missing?
    Thanks

Ha wow -- "sh run snmp" pointed me to the problem. There was a command:
    no snmp-server protocol enable
That must be a default, I never entered that.  Anyway a 'snmp-server protocol enable' fixed it.  I should have caught that.  Although an hour with TAC also didn't notice it hehe.
    Thanks!

  • RSC Cards responding to SNMP?

I have several V880s with the RSC cards configured for remote access.
Recently, our security group contacted me and asked me to either turn
off SNMP or change the Public value. To which I responded "Huh?!
SNMP is not even running". (It's not)
Apparently, the IP address bound to the RSC card is responding to SNMP
requests. I checked all the variables with "rscadm show" and I dont
even SEE snmp anywhere, so I am at a loss.
    Does anyone know:
    a) Why the Sun RSC cards would respond to SNMP?
    b) How I make them NOT respond to SNMP?
