WLC QoS Profiles not applying egress

In regards to QoS profiles on the WLC. I have applied a profile to a newly created WLAN and set the Per User Bandwidth to 512k and it seems to be kicking in on the ingress only, does anyone know if this is supposed to work ingress AND egress or is it just designed to work one way?  I have a 4402-25 with Cisco 3500 AP's and am running the 7.0.98 code.
If it is designed to work one way only is there a different way to apply it ingress and egress simultanenously off the WLC?

Hello,
WLC QoS bandwidth policies do in fact only apply in the downstream direction. Clients will still be able to upload at an unlimited speed.
You will need to look at another solution if you need to limit upload speeds -- one example would be user-based rate limiting on the 6500 platform:

There are likely other solutions available as well.

  • IPCU for windows- proxy authentication profile not applied on ipad

    Dear All,
We are using iPCU 2.2 on a windows for configuring ipad.
We have configured a payload for a Wi-Fi network with these proxy settings :
    - manual
    - hostname
    - port
    - authentication : login & password.
The problem is that the proxy settings are applied on the iPad except the authentication settings.
Looking at the installed profile on the iPad, the authentication is on "OFF" whereas it should be on "ON" with the login and password from the profile.
It is bug for IPCU, Please update IPCU to remove bug as soon as possible
    Thanks
    Amit

Amit, we can feel your pain.  This issue has been described in several  other forum threads since the newest version (3.4) of IPCU for Windows was released.  My understanding is that it has been reported to Apple Engineering.  A posted thread on this forum will not typically come to Apple's attention.  You might try going to this location

  • Preview Color Management broken? Profile not applied?

    Hi all,
I've come upon an inconsistency and wondered if anyone else is having this issue?
I profiled my Xerox Color Laser Printer. When I print out of Photoshop CS 4 my prints look great.
If I print out of Preview (Mac OS X 7.5), the colors are not correct and the In Printer color management prints match the ColorSync Color Managed with my new custom profile selected prints? I tried turning on the soft proofing, and the screen image in Preview looks amazingly like my successful Photoshop Color Managed Print, but when I print, the image appears as if the printer profile is not being applied. FYI, this profile is an ICC v2 Profile.
As I noted prints out of Photoshop are accurate and just fine.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, and so long for now, TOM

Thanks for the reply Richard. I indeed tried the latest driver, 91.31. The new control panel was quite confusing. I managed to get to the performance and quality place, but there was no way to set a color profile to a specific game, so keeping the same drivers, I went back to the classic control panel. Color profiles can't seem to be applied for game profiles, as the value in the profile switches to a "0" every time I hit apply (read that some other guy on the nZone forums had the same issues). So as of now, I just use the 84.21 drivers and set the color profile manually in the taskbar.
By the way, does anyone else here set color profiles in their game profiles? If so, how's the experience?

  • Profiles not applied?

Having some frustration with AC 1.7, using a new iMac mini with OS X 10.10. I am attempting to set up a "master" backup to apply to a number of other iPads( 32 GB Air using ver. 8.1).
All our iPads have been prepared in AC, and I have made a backup of the unit that I would like to apply to all iPads. I have also made & enabled a basic profile for WiFi settings and to set restrictions. However, when I connect an iPad and allow it to refresh, my restrictions are not reliably transferred. Am I missing something? Am I correct in assuming the profile settings should be installed (as long as I check the box next to the profile name)? We are deploying 10 units now, so the restrictions can be managed manually, but we plan to ramp up our device inventory as soon as possible. Have been following the Configurator guide- but still having difficulties. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

  • Color Profile Not Applied After Reboot.

Hi guys, I posted this in the nZone forums, but no one replied, so I'm trying my luck here.
I created and saved a color profile named "Games", in which the brightness is set to a bit higher to compensate for dark games. Then in the Performance and Quality tab, I created a game profile named HL2 and associated hl2.exe with it. Switiching to Advanced settings in view, I changed the color profile to Custom - Games. After clicking Apply, starting Half-Life 2 or Counter Strike: Source will cause the brightness to be at an acceptable level.
However, after rebooting, the profile seems to have been forgotten. The game would run under the brightness I set my desktop at. The game profile is still there, however, remembered in the profile for the game under Performance and Quality. I would have to select the HL2 profile again and click Apply for it to take effect again. This happens EVERY time the machine reboots. I have uninstalled the drivers and manually deleted some files left behind, with Driver Cleaner Pro, and then reinstalled to no avail. Is there a way to fix this? This also happens to a profile I made for Guild Wars.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Specs: 6600 GT PCI-E with 84.21 drivers, running a Dell 2005FPW through the DVI connector.
    AMD 3000+ on Epox 9NPA+Ultra
    1 GB RAM
    160 GB SATA
And just as an experiment I installed Windows and Guild Wars on a 6 year old 8 GB hard drive. It was a clean install, with only drivers (mobo, GPU) and Guild Wars installed. Same thing happens. I even tried the 78.01 and 93.31 drivers. 93.31 wouldn't even allow custom color profiles for whatever reason.

Thanks for the reply Richard. I indeed tried the latest driver, 91.31. The new control panel was quite confusing. • Apply QoS profile using RADIUS attributes

    Hi all,
Anyone delved into the use of RADIUS attributes to apply QoS values (DSCP/802.1p) to wireless users via a WLC?
With the emergence of ISE and the concept of a shared SSID for several user types I may want to apply QoS profiles by user rather than SSID.
Do you need to apply the maximum value to the SSID for the attribute-derived value to work?
Can non-WMM client traffic be marked using this approach?
    Plenty to think about here...
    Any discussion welcome!
    Cheers
    Rob

Yo can apply QoS RADIUS override.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6307/products_tech_note09186a0080870334.shtml
Yes it would be best to apply the wlan max qos value to the level that you intend to use with the radius override. for example if you want to apply platinum qos for voice clients on the ssid, i would map the wlan to platinum qos.
i am not sure on the next question. I think u can assign a DSCP/802.1p to a non WMM clients but I dont think the non wmm clients will benefit from it as they will not tag their traffic and hence the AP and subsequently the wired network will treat it as best effort (untagged).
    Thanks,

  • Upstream bandwidth QoS profile 5508 WLC

    Hello,
Is it possible, through a QoS profile, to control how much bandwidth a user gets to use for upstream traffic?  I can easily set limits for downstream traffic, via the per user bandwidth contracts, but it is not obvious to me on how to control upstream traffic.
Any and all info is appreciated!
    Thanks

upstream traffic needs to be defined at L3, via your QoS settings. As you've said, the profile on the WLC is downstream only.

  • Folder Redirection policy is not applied to a user, when the server target is changed, but works after resetting the windows profile.

Folder Redirection policy is not applied to a user, when the server target is changed.
After server target is changed via group policy, when user login  (roaming profile)first time, the the new server target has not been applied, instead it's pointing to the old folder redirection path.
But if we reset the windows profile (roaming ), the new folder redirection works, can you please specify a solutions that the new folder redirection works when the user login for the first time. so it reduce the time on resetting users profile.
it seems that we need to delete the old folder redirection path from the user profile (roaming user profile) via group policy or similar solutions..
    Many Thanks

    >   But when the specific users login they all get the same error, it
Is the old server removed from the domain? Seems so - or some other
authentication related issue, hard to tell from here...
    > seems that the roaming user profiles still keeps the old server details,
Yes - if you change redirection targets, FR moves content from old to
new, and only if this ends sucessfully, it will update the redirection
    target.
Make the old redirection target accessible to the user and you'll be fine.

  • How do I configure roaming profiles to not apply to Domain Admins?

    Hi,
I have a setup (Windows 2012 R2 on all servers) where roaming profiles and re-directed folders are applied through GPO to our RDS servers.
We decied to change this so only users, and not Domain Admins will have these settings applied.
Re-directed folders is a user setting, so that was changed easily, but the roaming profiles is applied to computer object.
So my question is; how do I configure roaming profiles only for some users (or a security group) and not for Domain Admins?

    Hi Dane,
    >>So my question is; how do I configure roaming profiles only for some users (or a security group) and not for Domain Admins?
Sorry, this is not acheivable, for computer part policy settings apply to computer accounts, regardless of which user logs onto the computers.

  • Wireless QoS Profiles

Is anyone running Wireless QoS using 5508's? I have been reading lots of info, but still struggle with some of this. I have not dealt with QoS much on a wired network and never on a wireless network. I know there has to be a shared comfiguration between both. The whole point of QoS is end to end. When looking into the Wireless QoS profiles in the WLC, the Gold profile, which is stated for video doesnt even have any values configured? So even selecting this profile for the WLAN SSID, the values not being configured, tell me its not benifitting me at all.
Now can someone give me "slimmed" down info on ToS, CoS, and DSCP?
Another question I have is does my application need these values configured? In my video encoder there is an area for ToS and the value is 0, do I need to configure this for the traffic to be noticed on the network?

    Steven
There is a lot to QOS on the network. There are three main points to keep in mind when working on QOS.
COS = Layer 2 packet markings
DSCP = Layer 3 packet markings
    1. Marking
    2. Trusting
    3. Queuing
I suggest doing the research on what's important to your business and marking the more important traffic higher then the not so important traffic. If you are using Cisco Switches, I suggest using 4 classes because you only get 4 queues with most Cisco switches.
You need to trust DSCP for your Controller based AP's.  You should trust DSCP on all of your switch uplinks.
Egress Queuing is very important. You need to allocate bandwidth to the queues on your ports. This assures that each queue gets the bandwidth that you want it to have.
Wireless QOS is a bit different. The client needs to set the DSCP value, then the controller needs to allow the DSCP value to be set to a specific level. You need to set the "platinum" profile to a 802.1p Tag to 6, this will allow packets to be marked with a COS value of 5 (I don't understand why Cisco did it this way, but it's how it is).  Then you need to apply Platinum to your voice vlan.
Here is a link to my forum where I have posted a lot more regarding QOS. I hope this helps.

  • WLC fails to correctly apply a local policy

We have a virtual WLC AIR-CTVM-K9.
We are trying to force mobile devices (on tablets, mobile phones, etc) to use the wlan that we defined to be for the mobile users.
We have created a few local policies, for Android (using items like Android, Android-HTC, etc), Apple, Samsung.... And applied it to the wlan from which we don't want them to use with the mobiles.
The problem is that in the 5% of the cases, even with the local profiling identifying the device as a "Workstation" (profile NOT included in the policy), it takes them to the "Mobile" wlan.
Couldn't find any other topic regarding this problem.
    Can anybody help us?
    Thank you!

  • ZCM 11 Group Policies not applying to satellite servers

    Hi there
We are running 2 Windows 2012 Primary Servers and a SQL 2012 Database server at our main site, all remote sites have SLES11 SP2/OES11 SP1 as satellite servers. We upgraded all servers last weekend to 11.3.1 and now have an issue with Group Policies applying to the satellites. The satellites are all set up the same with Authentication, Collection, Content and Imaging roles.
Since we upgraded Group Policies are (99% of the time) not applying on satellite sites. I have tried manually replicating content (I assume policies will come from content replication?) to the satellites - I've done this with a zac cdp replicate and zac cvc and everything seems to replicate over however I tried highlighting a satellite server and clicking on Action, Specify Content - select the Policy that is not applying and move it into the selected Content to update column and when I click finish I get the error "The Wizard cannot continue for the following reason(s): Unable to complete your request for the following reason: Error updating content"
On a managed device at the satellite site if you look at the properties of the Zenworks agent and click on Policies it has applied 4 device assigned policies successfully - Remote Management, Power Management, Application Launcher Config and Application Control Policy, also has successfully applied 3 out of the 4 User Assigned Policies - Mandatory Profile, Dynamic Local User, Application Control - but not the Windows Group Policy.
Our PCs are on Windows 8.1 and all policies were applying fine before the weekend upgrade......
Has anyone else had any experience of Group Policies not applying that could point me where to look? I have logged an SR with Novell through our reseller but as yet I am getting no response back at all, not even asking me for more information.
    Many thanks
    Sharon

Sounds like you have a content replication issue more than a GPO issue.
Especially if the GPO works for locations that point to the Primaries
    for Content.
Do you have throttling configured anywhere in any fashion?
You may need to increase the Replication Timeout to make sure content is
getting over to the Sats. Often increasing from 60 to 240 helps, but
watch out for throttling preventing content replication.
It is possible things are backing up.

  • Partner Profile not fnd (file-to-idoc)

    Hi,
Idoc in r/3 failed with 56 error. Partner profile not found.
partner profile was set up (between XI logical system and R/3 system) in R/3 server.
Control record of idoc is showing sending system as MDMSBX01 with port SAPXI0. Actually, MDMSBX01 is the source sytem(file server). I can't even find this port SAPXI0 in IDX1. Not sure, how this got picked up.
I was testing the scenario by using <b>"test message" in Integration Engine(RWB)</b> since I do not have access to FTP server. I am sure this is causing to pick up wrong source system(instead of XI server system as source). Please clarify.

  • Colors are not applying properly

First off, let me say that I am definitely a novice.  I'm mostly self taught- I did take some courses through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh but I had to drop out to take care of my family so I'm by no means an expert.  So forgive me if I sound like an idiot.
Yesterday I was desiging images for my children and I was having difficulty with the colors- I would select a color from the color picker and a different shade/color would be applied to the text.  Hoping it was a RAM issue, I just restarted my computer and it resolved itself.  Easy enough.  I completed the designs and went about my day.
Today, I'm working on a project for someone else and it's doing it again.  I've restarted the computer and I've reset settings on Illustrator to the default but neither of these things resolved the problem.
In an attempt to make sure I wasn't going crazy, I took a screen shot of the text I'm attempting to color and the color picker box showing the color I was trying to choose.  The selected color was R 6 G 6 B 249.  I opened the image in paint and with the eyedropper tool selected the color that was actually applied and that color is R 61 G 93 B 171- so clearly not the same color at all.  I then opened it in Photoshop to determine if it was an Adobe problem or just an Illustrator problem.  With the eyedropper tool, I got the same results that I did in paint.  Illustrator is definitely not applying the colors correctly.
Being a novice, I have no idea what to do now and as I'm using CS5, the live chat rep sent me here to seek help.  I've been using these programs for years and have never encountered this problem so I'm baffled and I'd appreciate any help.

I don't know if I'm efficiently explaining the problem here.
I think you can try explaining it better by giving some additional information.
What is the color space of the document as reported on this menu at the bottom left of your document window?
What is the name of the color space (profile) listed after Monitor RGB on the RGB menu in the Working Spaces section of the Color Settings?
What are the color values of the color you have trouble with? Please provide the CMYK or RGB values depending on the color mode of the document.
Please, provide a screen shot in png file format so the colors can be measured accurately without being altered by the jpg compression.
Also please include in the screen shot the Color panel with a slider set to the color model of the document.
Also to make sure that the color in the document is not altered by any other means, like blending modes, multiple fills appearance, masks, etc. create a new document with a simple box with the same color values and check if the colors match.
