WLC526 EOL replacement?

Just saw the notice that the WLC526 is at End of Life and is looking to be replaced with the 2100 series of WLAN Controller.  Will CCA 2.2.1 support wireless configuration using the 2100 series WLC or is there another product that will be released to fill this hole?  Will the 2100 or other WLC support any ruggedized/outdoor WAPs or WAPs with external antenna ports?
Thanks,
Seth

EOL, Geez that was quick, can the partners get a wireless roadmap please?
As far as the AP541, it's pretty intrusive compaired to a 521 plus It doesn't look "LWAP" so you loose that feature. I was looking to see if the mobility express configuration was going to the 802.11n side in the near future, but I guess not.
As an integrator we would rather see an LWAP with controller solution that supports "n" without having to break the bank. Now it looks like we are not able to recommend anything to our clients.

  • RVL200 EOL - Replacement?

Hello, I was looking at the RVL200 for my client who needs to have remote access to his office LAN. However, I see that the RVL200 is no longer sold from April 2010. As such, may I know if there is a newer VPN router to replace the RVL200 which is specifically for small business and allows for VPN.
Currently there is an ADSL modem + router which connects the client LAN to the Internet. So with the new VPN router, do I have to replace the modem + router or can I connect it after the modem+router device. The modem+router device is Thomson Speedtouch 585 which is given by the ISP.
Any help and advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.

  • VMS 2.3 EOL/EOS - Replacement?

I see that VMS 2.3 is now EOL/EOS. From Cisco documentation it appears that Cisco Security Manager and MARS are the replacement.
Since VMS 2.3 basic with 5 device support was included with IPS sensors at no charge (IPS sensors are basically plug and forget without some type of event viewer), will Cisco Security Monitor and MARS have the same licensing option that was available with VMS basic?

are you sure about this.....after reading your post, i went looking and all I found was this:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2432/prod_eol_notice0900aecd803000a1.html
which covers Ciscoworks VM (Voice manager) ??

  • With TMG EOL what can I replace with?

My TMG 2010 is used mainly for reverse proxy for internal .NET applications, OWA, etc.  What MS products or third party products are available to replace this functionalility?

    Hi,
Web Application Proxy in Windows Server 2012 R2 has some capabilities like TMG for basic reverse publishing, you can also use IIS AAR.
For more functionality you must use third party products like Blucoat, Checkpoint, Sophos UTM

  • Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement

FYI. An excellent iPhone battery care article by iPhoneAtlas.com:
Optimizing iPhone battery life: Between charges and before replacement
    http://www.iphoneatlas.com/2007/07/09/optimizing-iphone-battery-life-between-cha rges-and-before-replacement/

OK, I agree that is a completely false statement. The rest of the article is pretty good.
If you assume a linear decrease in battery charge for each full cycle (which it really isn't, but much easier to model in a spreadsheet). Then 80% of original charge after 400 full cycles is approximately 0.8% loss in battery charge per full charge cycle (again this is a simplification, stay with me). This means that after 400 cycles, you are at approximately 80% of your original total charge level. As stated by Apple.
So, extrapolating that out to EOL (end of life) which Apple assumes to be 50% battery charge, it would take approximately 1,000 full charge cycles for your battery to be EOL (according to Apple). It would actually be slightly less than that since it won't be a linear function.
For me, that's 2 to 4 years of use depending on whether or not I continue using the iPhone as much as I have this first full week.

  • I got ~M as EOL when I edit a java file in NetBeans

    Hi,
When I edit a java file in the NetBeans editor, at the end of line, I got ~M (When viewed in a Unix environment) at end of every line. Pls help me get rid of that. It such a long file that I cannot delete it manually.
    Thanks,
    Guhan

    1) joe filename.java
    2) control+K F
    3) type `m (yes, that's a backwards apostrophe. Should be same key as ~)
    4) type R for replace
    5) hit enter to replace with EOL
    6) type R for rest of file.
    7) control +K X to save and exit.
Any particular reason you can't do this with your global search and replace in netbeans? :P

  • Are new MB replacements using the same batch of bad 8600M chips?

My Macbook Pro Santa Rosa from 2007 just died yesterday. I brought it in for Logic Board replacement. It'll cost some days of productivity. But two things occur to me:
    1. Do these replacement logic board use the same batch of dodgy nVidia 8600M chips? If that's the case, then anyone getting them replaced is essentially getting a chip that will eventually fail again within 2-3 years. And that's just not a real solution but just a temporary fix. It looks likely because one of my friends had his replacement Logic Board fail within 8 months of its replacing.
    2. While the extension of coverage for this problem is a generous gesture on Apple's part, people who have invested in Applecare are not getting any real benefits for this issue from their investment. They're going to be just as much in the cold as everyone else once support is EOL on this item. Shouldn't there be an extension of Applecare as well? Or maybe a discount on a newer model?
I really expected this investment to work at least 6-8 years. Now it looks like it's closer to 4. I'm very nervous about using a machine that I know will at some point just fail again. And I'm just not in a position to sell this one and buy a newer one.

If you read the support documentation, you learn they "may" use refurbished parts. But that does not mean necessarily it would be the same bad batch.
It would certainly not reflect well on them if it is a bad batch. However, if your read my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/badram.html
You'll learn it is more an art than a science to identify all quality memory chips. So while one can't guarantee there aren't additional chips that are not bad, it is more unlikely that chips that were definitely bad in the first plcae were recycled into your refurbished board.
So be prepared with some backup, in event something does fail*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
And yes, there are many machines that do last 8 years, even from
the more current machines. A lot depends on usage, and if you have power issues*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/frayguide.html
and if you ensure the machine is on a surface where it is less likely to overheat.
If you get repeated failure of repairs, you should insist on getting a replacement Mac when next contacting AppleCare.

  • Ipad 1 - battery replacement

I have 1st generation ipad 3G + WIFI that no longer powers up. I read about apple's battery replacement program. I'm in Canada so the cost is $119 + taxes. Does anyone know if apple would send me a refurbished device of the same model? If so, I think I may be better off putting that money towards a newer model. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Personally, I would rather put the cost towards a new iPad that is more capable and will run the newer iOS along with giving you the ability to run the newest apps. The iPad 1st gen is pretty much EOL (end of life) but that also depends on how long you are willing to accept it's life as.

  • Switches replacement

    Hi,
There is a need to replace faster cisco switches.
What I have at the minute is:
uc500, esw520 and few 500 series switches which have only 2 1Gbit interface, the setup is like that connections from switch is going to cisco phone (vlan 150) and from phone via bult-in switch to pc (default vlan 1), we have couple SGE2000P switches with which we want (management) to replace all the old 500 is it possible to do what I want? Sorry I am not good in voice technology.

Hi Matt, the ESW series switches went eos/eol about a year ago. It may be possible to find some at a distributor but they're currently not being manufactured.
I would implore you to purchase SX300 (srw2xxx-k9-na) or SX500 series model. The SX300 series was specifically positioned to transition people from using the ESW models. Additionally, the SX500 was specifically placed to replace the SGE2XXX models and incorporate all of the features of the SX300 models.

  • Is Prelude really a replacement for OnLocation?

    Hi,
I've been reading up and it seems that adobe means for Prelude to replace OnLocation. That seems odd to me. I use OnLocation to create shot lists during pre production and then as a video assist and audio monitor on set (Bypassing the need to ingest later on and more importantly for me, bypassing the need for SD cards or any kind of media drive other than my computer's drive). Does Prelude do any of these things? I haven't seen any of this functionality.
In fact Prelude starts exactly after OnLocation does it's thing. Or rather OnLocation bypasses the need for Prelude in many cases but not the other way around. I'm hoping I just haven't found these features on Prelude yet. (I have been playing with it for a short time really). Are these on set features expected at least?

Thanks Wes. I actually have requested the features. I was honestly asking if these features are actually on Prelude as I have little experience with it. I didn't think so and your answer suggests what I was afraid of. OnLocation has been discontinued and there is nothing on CS6 that effectively allows users to continue doing the things OnLocation's feature set allowed them to do. Maybe only a small group of people found it useful I guess. That's a shame.
However, I do believe Adobe intends to market Prelude as a replacement to OnLocation here's a quote from the adobe site:
Try Adobe Prelude CS6. We encourage our valued Adobe OnLocation users to transition to Adobe Prelude CS6.
Here's the link to that: http://www.adobe.com/products/onlocation.html
    Also:
Effective May 7, 2012, Adobe Prelude CS6 replaces Adobe OnLocation in both Adobe Creative Suite® 6 Production Premium and CS6 Master Collection software, as well as in the new Adobe Creative CloudTM membership.
    from: http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/onlocation/pdfs/adobe-onlocation-eol-fa q-ue-v1.pdf
I should mention I think Prelude is cool for what it does. I could see real use for it. I just expected that since they meant Prelude as something you could transition to from OnLocation, it would have similar features. Thanks for clarifying.
Though if it is not meant as a replacement then I would suggest changing some of the wording on the site. I found it a bit misleading. To me, asking people to transition from one app to another implies similar feature sets. You wouldn't ask people to transition from Premiere (if it were discontinued) to Indesign after all.

  • Find/Replace highlights the wrong code

Hi, when using the normal Find and search for specific text in my AS3 class file, it highlights the right position where it found the matching text, but when I use the Find/Replace it totally messes up, it highlights the wrong text in my code, but it displays the right position in the Find/Replace window. Is there a way to fix that, or is this a known bug? See attached screenshot.

    Hi,
    Thanks for sharing the file.
The issue is with the End of Line(EOL) character. The file uses CR notation for its EOL and was used in Mac OS version upto 9 and in Mac OS 9. When a file is created using any of those versions of Mac OS then the EOL character would be CR which is obsolete now and is not recognized by many modern text editors.
If the EOL is LF or CR|LF then the Find and Replace will work as expected in Flash CC.
You can change the EOL of the file by opening and saving the file in Wordpad which will change the EOL to CR|LF.
Hope this information will help resolve your issue.
    Thanks!
    Mohan
