Wli async process restarting itself with server restart
Hello
I have an async process calling a sync process in a wli server that calls an ejb in a diff wls server that runs a long operation. When I kick the async process and the long operation starts, if I shut down the wli server before the operation ends and restart it, the async process seems to kick off by itself. Not sure what configuration controls this. Please help.
thanks
Are you running your WLI domain in production mode?

Hello once again, today we had a strange issue. It appears that a plugin for Office Pro Plus 2013 or indeed Office itself initiated a restart of the Remote Desktop Server it was installed on. This is obviously not an ideal situation as it ends up terminating
sessions of all users that are connected to the server.
This is the text from the Event Log:
The process msiexec.exe has initiated the restart of computer XXXXXXXXX on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x80030002
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment: The Windows Installer initiated a system restart to complete or continue the configuration of 'Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013'.
The Event ID is 1074 / Source is User32 /
Is there a way to prevent this happening in future.Hello Dave,
I started having the same issue on our Remote Desktop Server, Windows 2008 R2 with Office Pro Plus 2013 connecting to O365 mailboxes. The server has been set up for months and only started this behaviour. When I trawled through the logs and found
the entry you list I also checked the application log at the same time. In the Application log I found an entry with source MsiInstaller and event id 11728 detailing that an install was in progress. I could see on the Geenral TAB of this entry
that a single user had initiated this install. It should be noted that the user was not an Administrator, however they were new. When I logged on as the user and opened outlook it did come up with a window saying it was completing the install and
asked them to reboot. It does this every time you open outlook unless you open it in safemode.
I tried a number of things to fix it:
1. Disable add-ins. (No effect)
2. Reset outlook profile. (No Effect)
3. Deleted user profile from the Remote Desktop Server, renamed the relevant profile in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" and renamed the folder in "c:\users". (No effect)
My next step was going to be to delete the users profile completely. Before I did that I created a new test user and logged on to see if it was affecting all new users. I logged on with the user and it did not have a problem.
Strangely now when I log on as the original user having the issue the problem is gone.
I will monitor the situation, but at the moment it is fixed.
Tony

My Macbook Pro keeps restarting itself with a Panic message each time!
Hi there,
I have had a few problems with my Macbook since I have bought it, namely the replacing of the hard drive twice. I am completely useless when it comes to tech, so my question may have already been answered but I might of just not understood the answers provided!
Was just on my Macbook and it decided to completely freeze, the Skype call I was in went silent and whilst I was still able to move the cursor, everything else was utterly frozen, so after a while I decided to just press the switch and try to restart it ! However, when I typed my password it, a black progress bar began to fill and at about 1/5th full, a bunch of lines with black backgrounds came up, and the computer shut itself back down to restart! The message says;
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80007bcf35): ''Process 1 exec of /sbin/launched failed, errno 5''0/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2782.10. (some other stuff on this line i didnt pic)
Debugger called: <panic>

Then some lines with numbers beginning in 0xffffff80

And that is what the message says, hopefully someone out there could point me towards a solution as every time it keeps coming up after I enter my password to log in, so I cant do anything! I have attempted to turn it on in safe mode but I believe it isn't responding to it! Any help is truly appreciated!

William BensonSee Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic. Post the entire log (not all of them, only the most current one) in your next reply. This assumes you can startup the computer. If you cannot startup the computer, then you will need to do this instead:
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Alternatively, see:

Choose the version you have installed now:

I would avoid Norton, eventually there always seem to be problems, and I tried NIS2008 before going to Kaspersky Suite.
Also, try cleaning up temp files and doing chkdsk. -
The threads increase and the iPlanet Web Server 6.1SP5 restart itself
Hi all,
i becoming crazy, with my web servers.
I have 3 front-end balanced servers with the same configuration:
SunOS 5.9 Generic_118558-22 sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240, 4GB RAM.
iPlanet Web Server is 6.1 SP5
Then the problem is:
- When i start my Web Servers there arn't errors, but during the day, the threads (shown by "top" under under column THR) that in mornig are 300~400 increases until becoming 750~850 and one or more of them restart itself automatically; therefore my head has ordered to the society that supplies us the monitoring service to restart duning the night the web servers at a distance of little minutes in order to avoid the hang of the webs.
How I can avoid the increment of the threads?
Every suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Composite with dependency not working after soa server restart
Hello,
I have composite application that invokes another composite application. After deploying those work fine. But after restarting soa server the one having dependency does not work any more. To soa server log I get following:
<Jul 1, 2010 11:45:29 AM EEST> <Error> <oracle.integration.platform> <SOA-20003> <Unable to register service.
oracle.fabric.common.FabricException: Error in getting XML input stream: http://Yacico:8001/soa-infra/services/default/validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL: Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://Yacico:8001/soa-infra/services/default/validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL'
at oracle.fabric.common.metadata.MetadataManagerImpl.getInputStreamFromAbsoluteURL(MetadataManagerImpl.java:276)
Caused By: java.io.FileNotFoundException: Response: '503: Service Unavailable' for url: 'http://Yacico:8001/soa-infra/services/default/validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL'
<Jul 1, 2010 11:45:30 AM EEST> <Error> <oracle.integration.platform> <SOA-20020> <Deployment of composite "POProcessing" failed: Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service {http://oracle.com/sca/soapservice/POProcessing/POProcessing/receivePO}receivePO and port execute_pt. Please make sure that the port attribute for the binding defined in the composite file is correct by checking the namespace, service name, and port name. In addition, check that the WSDL associated with the binding namespace is imported and currently reachable (check the import nodes at the top of the composite file). Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server..>
So POProcessing does not work any more after server restart. validationForCC works fine also after server restart. Url http://...validationForCC/getStatusByCC?WSDL points to wsdl file and is visible by browser.
I use soa suite 11g patch set 2 (11.1.1.3) running on redhat enterprise linux 5.
Any idea what is the problem?
Is it somehow possible to configure which composites are started first during server startup?
regards, Matti
Edited by: user10197965 on Jul 1, 2010 2:28 AMYes, I did that. I'm not all that happy about this as a solution either, but it's better than making multiple copies.
We have since found out that his is a known bug and that it is fixed in some, but not all, deployments.

Composites With WSDL Dependencies Fail To Deploy Following SOA Server Restart [ID 1272070.1]
Modified:Jul 19, 2012 Type:PROBLEM Status:MODERATED Priority:3
In this Document
Symptoms
Cause
Solution
References
This document is being delivered to you via Oracle Support's Rapid Visibility (RaV) process and therefore has not been subject to an independent technical review.
Applies to:
Oracle SOA Platform - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A SOA Project has an external reference to a Web Service or a reference to another Composite.
When the SOA Server is started, the Composite is trying to access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service in order to load data structures. If SOA can not find the WSDL then the Composite fails to load/deploy.
Once this happens the Composite can not be started, or shutdown, from Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Application.
Related Error Messages:
[ERROR] [SOA-20020] ... Unable to find a WSDL that has a definition for service ... Please make sure that the port attribute for the binding defined in the composite file is correct by checking the namespace, service name, and port name. In addition, check that the WSDL associated with the binding namespace is imported and currently reachable (check the import nodes at the top of the composite file). Finally, validate the HTTP proxy settings for the server.]
javax.wsdl.WSDLException: WSDLException: faultCode=INVALID_WSDL: Error reading import of oramds
Cause
When SOA Server is restarting the Composite can not access the WSDL of it's referenced Web Service (it is not available).
In the first scenario there are two Composites on the same server: CompositeA and CompositeB.
In SOA Suite 11g there is no possibility to specify the load order for the composites. If CompositeA references CompositeB and if CompositeA is firstly loaded then it can not access the WSDL from CompositeB and the issue occurs.
In the second situation there is one Composite on the server (CompositeA) which references an external WebService (ExternalWS). If the ExternalWS is not available when the SOA Server is starting then this issue occurs.
Solution
Solution 1
Redeploy the affected Composite into the SOA Server.
You can do that but it is not advisable in a production environment and in a development environment it will take a lot of time to redeploy the composite manually
Solution 2
Copy the abstract WSDL locally into the project.
This is documented in these articles in our Knowledge base:
• Document:1155033.1 Node Restart Cause Composites To Become Unavailable. Response: '503: Service Unavailable'
• Document:1151973.1 Boot Order Of The Composites Upon Soa Suite Restart
Steps:
o a. Copy and use the WSDL file in the Project
o b. Edit the WebService Adapter
o c. Change the "WSDL URL" to point to the WSDL copied into the project
o d. Redeploy the Project
o e. Make this configuration with all the Projects that have a references with other Web Services
Solution 3
Use shared artifacts in Metadata Service (MDS). A WSDL used by more than one composite is a shared artifact per definition. If the WSDL structure is changed (that is not happening frequently in a production environment), you will normally deploy a composite with a new version because overwriting it will break your production environment. Moreover, in a development environment you will need a proper process in place where different developers access the same artifacts within MDS. In addition, when you use external WSDLs (owned by third parties), you will have a proper process/agreement in place to be notified about modifications affecting your applications.
1. In order to use shared artifacts a MDS connection must be configured in jDeveloper:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85488
2. Deploy the shared artifacts:
o a. Create a JAR profile and include the artifacts to share
o b. Create a SOA bundle that includes the JAR profile
o c. Deploy the SOA bundle to the application server
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#SOASE85472
If the shared artifacts (WSDLs) needed are from other composites this step can be skipped
3. Create a new WebService
o a. When completing the "WSDL URL" click on "Find existing WSDL's"
o b. Select "Resource Palette"
o c. Go to the SOA-MDS
o d. Select a WSDL from a Composite or the one deployed at step 2.
Known Restriction 1
The port and the location for the WSDL reference is not completed automatically by jDeveloper in the composite.xml file. This information must be inserted manually. In Bug:10287325 is raised this issue and it is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
Known Restriction 2
Another issue regarding MDS caching is raised in Bug:10218147 - the MDS cache is not refreshed when an artifact is deployed or deleted.
In order to refresh this cache the server must be restarted. This Bug resolves the issue but in a production environment the server restart will be the preferred option. The reason for that is because in a production environment you never deploy single composites under the same version after artifacts (WSDLs) have been modified.
The fix for the Bug:10218147 can be an acceptable solution in development environment where redeployment would be quicker than restarting the server.
Bug:10218147 is available for SOA 11gPS2+.
To find out more information about how to use Shared Metadata check the following documentation:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11g
41 Deploying SOA Composite Applications

URL:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#CACFEAJJ
Solution 4
The last solution is to use an UDDI (Universal Description Discovery and Integration).
Oracle recommends Oracle Service Registry 11g (OSR). The advantage is that you can use OSR and SOA Suite in a Shared WebLogic Domain.

Abstract: SOA SUITE COMPOSITE FAILS TO DEPLOY UPON RESTART OF MANAGED SERVER
*** 03/01/11 08:07 am ***
Customer has a project consists of two services for interaction with the
process and one reference to an external service.
On deployment of the process to an Enterprise Environment, the process works
as expected. However, upon a restart of the managed server, the process will
then fail to deploy.
Workaround used is to redeploy the project again.

Abstract: WHEN SOA SERVER IS RESTARTED, SOME SOA COMPOSITES COULD NOT LOAD/BE DEPLOYED
Detailed Problem Description
====================
When a SOA composite get dependencies with other SOA composites located on the same server, if the dependency is still not loaded, the SOA composite will not be loaded, and there is no possibilities for Entreprise Manager console to restart it (EM crash). The only way to make it working is to redeployed the SOA composite from jDeveloper that is not acceptable in a production environment.
The composite that has the issue cannot be start-up or shut-down, although the Enterprise Manager do not show any errors with it. -
BPEL process instance doesn't restart execution after BPEL server restart
I am using Oracle BPEL server 10.1.2 on Windows with the Oracle lite 10G dehydration datastore.
I have a one BPEL process (proc1) that invokes another BPEL process (proc2) synchronously. proc1 also invokes proc3 (also a BPEL process, but probably doesn't matter) synchronoulsy in parallel with proc2.
proc2 has a wait of ~30seconds in it. As soon as proc1 invokes proc2, I shutdown BPEL. Now, when I restart the BPEL server, proc2 instance finishes its execution. But, I don't see instances of proc1 and proc3 in the BPEL console.
Here are my questions:
1. If proc1 invokes proc2 and proc3 in parallel, shouldn't I see instances of proc2 and proc3 at the same time? I only see proc2 not even proc1.
2. Why doesn't proc1 resume its execution after BPEL server is restarted?
Any pointers appreciated.1. If proc1 invokes proc2 and proc3 in parallel, shouldn't I see instances of proc2 and proc3 at the same time? I only see proc2 not even proc1.

Why WSUS installation on WS2012 R2 fails with message indicating server restart required?
Dear all,
I've trying to install WSUS server role on WS 2012 R2 standard. Server is domain joined, and local SQL server (SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP3) installed. This SQL server is to host the WSUS database.
WS 2012 R2 is fully patched. Nothing else is installed on this server except SQL server mentioned above. I initiate WSUS role installation, specify that WIS is not required, rather WSUS database is required, database connection to locally installed SQL server
is established; which succeeds without any problem, but when wizard starts WSUS role installation it continues to fail over and over. It indicates in server manager task view that role installation failed because the server require restart.
I restarted server several times, repeated the process but this continues to behave like this.
Why WSUS installation on server fails repeatedly?
Why log should be examined or any other dependency is missing here?
Please advise.
Regards,Hello Steven,
Thanks for the input, in fact I did mention server name to pick SQL server instance from, since the only instance configured is default instance locally on the server where I'm trying to install WSUS on.
When Add Roles/Features selection wizard gets to WSUS configuration; it asks for location where updates will be stored, next it asks to connect to SQL server to use for SUS database; that's where I specify local server's host name (in my case HQCAS) and
click "Check connection" this succeeds without any error.
All these steps proceed without any problem, but later on, WSUS role installation fails. I also checked CBS.log file; but it didn't give any specific clues? The only message I receive is that role installation requires server restart.
I reboot server; start all over, but the behavior remains the same. Since WSUS role did not get install in the first place, it won't be possible to check event viewer for WSUS related events. Moreover...wsusutil.exe tool will also be not available until
after successful install.
I couldn't reach any post deployment. Had a look at that link you forwarded, the
update mentioned in below area also doesn't apply since I specify the local server's host name and then click "Check connection". This steps goes without any error. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

Server Restarting Itself.
I have a server that likes to restart itself. What are some reasons it would do that? I know I only have 600MB available on the server's hard drive. (it runs mail and web servicies) Is there a way (log files, CLI commands, etc.) to find out how and why this server is restarting?
Let me know your thoughts.Out of curiosity, from what I can tell, the OS on my machine is taking up about 60-70GB worth of space on my drive. Does that sound right to you? Seems a little high to me.
It's impossible to say without more information. For example, you say you're running web sites and email, right? Does your estimate include the web directories and email boxes?
Do you allow users to upload their own content to the site? Have you checked them?
How many users are you managing?
If you're excluding the web and email content then 70GB does seem high, but again, it depends on what you're doing on the machine. If you're looking for culprits that might be consuming space start off in the /var directory, especially /var/log and /var/tmp. The former may have large log files that haven't been rotated or cleaned up (your mail server could have been generating megabytes of log messages for months trying to warn you about the disk space), and /var/tmp may have temporary files that haven't been cleaned up.
Earlier versions of the OS had a bug in the printer setup that neglected to clean up print jobs - that could lead to several gigabytes of space depending on how much you print - especially if this server acts as a print server, too. These would be in /var as well, so that really is the place to start.
Since /var is normally hidden by the Finder it's probably time to start getting comfortable with the terminal since there are some commands that make this kind of troubleshooting far easier, e.g:
cd /var
du -hs *
This will list every item in /var and give you an indication as to its size. It should be pretty clear from here where to focus. If it's a directory, just cd into that directory and du again until you find the culprit (or not as the case may be). -
How to deal with Short dump that restarts the index server?
Hi ,
I have been experiencing this problem whenever any exception occurs in my SQL SCRIPT procedure. For instance when there is a situation when I try to insert a value of 50 characters in length to a column with max size of 40 it throws a short dump and restarts the index server. I tried to insert the exception handling code as well but still the problem persists. Is there a way to solve this issue?Hi Sudarshan
crashes are rather generic reactions of the system to virtually any kind of problem that may occur.
Memory shortage is one of the more common issues in current SAP HANA setups and SAP HANA development is heavily working on handling memory shortage situations more gracefully.
Massive over allocation of memory, for example by very large intermediate result sets or join result sets typically can be addressed by correcting the query or model that leads to the issue.
Anyhow, the initial post was not about a memory shortage but about a crash that seemed to have occurred with wrong data type handling.
These are two very different kinds of problems, so I am not really sure how your comment relates here.

NWA: Restart of a server process requires a specific user
Hi all,
we use SAP Netweaver AS Java 2004s 7.0 (Java Stack only).
Since the installation of SPS10 (prior we had SPS8) restarting a Java server node
by means of the web interface NWA (netweaver administration) requires a OS user
and a OS password.
What is meant by OS user.? I interpreted it with an Operation System user and tried with <SID>adm user but it doesn't work
Any help is really appreciated
Regards KarinHi Karin,
To assign rights to a user you can use this path:
Control Panel -> Computer Management -> User -> Member of
Here you can add the Administrator role to the user.
I would suggest you assign the administrator rights to all the SAP based user.
Also i suggest to try you windows logon username and password.
Hope this works!!!

How to avoid BPEL process deployment after server restart
Hi,
Message flow in my application is as below
BPEL1 --> ESB --> BPEL2
After every server restart the ESB is failing to invoke a perticular operation of BPEL2 service. All other operations of BPEL2 are working fine.
We are redeploying the BPEL2 proccess everytime the server restart happens to fix this issue. As a temporary fix, we are trying to bypass the ESB and directly invoke BPEL2 from BPEL1, but not sure if this solution works.
Can someone please suggest me as to how to avoid redeployment of the BPEL2 process?
Please let me know incase any additional information is required.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Manoj
